A/N: I decided that I am going to continue this story. I have kind of planned out the chapters and storyline. So enjoy!

Olivia leans back aligning her spine with the center of the seat. Pulling into the exit lane she states, "I need to stretch and get a coffee." Slowing the car down as she enters the parking lot she asks, "Do you need anything or are you okay?"
"I'm good," Elliot smirks, "I'm in it for the long haul."
As she takes her seatbelt off and opens the door she confirms, "You sure?" Elliot nods his head and shoos her away. Olivia drops the keys on her seat and closes the door leaving only him in the car. Elliot respectfully gazes at Olivia's backside as she makes her way into the rest area.
Inside the building, Olivia walks by the food court area and to the restrooms. Using it quickly, she rushes it back around the corner and plants her feet in front of the first food shop she can.
"What can I get you ma'am?" the woman behind the counter asks.
Olivia looks down from the menu, "Could I get the turkey club on rye?"
"Alrighty," the woman taps on her screen, "Is that it?" Olivia nods her head for an answer. The woman turns the screen around, "That will be six dollars flat. Please sign on the line." Olivia inserts her card and signs on the dotted line. Stepping to the side she can see her food already being prepared. Olivia tries her best not to invest in fast food- she prefers to be wined and dined. The sandwich wrapped in a thin layer of wax paper is placed on the counter, Olivia grabs the sandwich and strolls out to the car. She can see Elliot scrolling through his phone with a grin.
Elliot jumps a little when he hears the driver's side door open, "Jesus!" Olivia giggles to herself as she shuts the door behind her. Elliot snatches the sandwich from her hands, "Whatcha got?"
Gently taking the sandwich back from his hands, Olivia says, "I got a sandwich."
"Turkey club on rye?" Elliot reaches out for the sandwich as she moves her hand back.
"Yes," Olivia answers. She watches Elliot glance between her and the sandwich, "Would you like a bite?" Not sure if he should answer honestly, he stays silent. She waves the sandwich in front of his face before dropping it on his lap. Olivia looks him in the eyes, "One bite. Not two. Just one."
Elliot delicately opens the wrapper to expose her turkey club on rye. He eyes the sandwich and then Olivia. While Olivia straps herself Elliot takes a bite of her sandwich. With his mouth still full he thanks her, "That's a good sandwich"
Olivia turns her head back to him, "El!" She grabs her sandwich back from him, "I said one bite."
"I took one bite," Elliot points to the bite mark in the sandwich.
"You ate like half my sandwich," Olivia starts the car with the push button.
"Let's just get back on the road," he tries to refocus her. Olivia rolls her eyes and takes a small bite of her sandwich as she steps on the gas. They merge back into regular traffic and cruise down the interstate. Still silent, Elliot watches Olivia slowly take bites from her sandwich and steer simultaneously, "You know you're not supposed to eat and drive, right?"
Olivia gulps down her bite, "It's not like you don't eat and drive."
"Yeah, but at least I try to steer with my hands and not my knees," Elliot points out.
"It's a talent."
"All I'm saying is that it's not exactly the safest way to drive."
"If I recall, you ate a bowl of minestrone one time during a chase."
"And did I spill any of it?" he waits for her response, "Not a single drop."
"Sureā¦" Olivia reaches out to change the radio station as the static is increasing. She switches through about three stations and lands on one playing Elton John. Humming along and tapping her steering wheel she can feel Elliot's blue eyes staring at her. Not staring, but admiring. Without looking over she softly mentions, "I can feel you looking at me."
Caught in the act, he rubs the back of his neck with a grin, "Don't get too cocky, Captain. I'm just simply looking at the scenery."
"You mean the corn fields that look exactly the same as the other corn fields on your side?"
"No. The corn fields and the occasional cow farms that just so happened to be on your side."
"Uh-huh. So it's the cow farms that do it for you?"
"I just think that side has more beauty."
Olivia is speechless. Sitting there, still being gazed at she tries to veer to a different subject, "You said Eli was looking at colleges?"
Elliot notices the change in topic, sensing she was uncomfortable with what he said, "Yeah. I mean he's going into junior year, which I think is a little early to go on tours, but apparently, it's normal."
"More normal than marrying your pregnant girlfriend at that age," Olivia jokes lightheartedly.
"For your information, I was 17, not 16."
"Cause that makes a difference."
Not taking it personally Elliot continues, "He's thinking something scientific. Like forensics."
"That's incredible. I know it's far out, but Syracuse has an amazing forensics program," Olivia says in return."
"Oh, he's thinking even further out. He's thinking all over. Texas A&M, Boston University, Penn State, even University of Nebraska."
"Nebraska?"
"Mhmm."
"What does Nebraska have except for more corn fields?"
"Apparently a great forensics program," Elliot shrugs his shoulders.
Catching a glimpse of his hands out of the corner of her eyes, she notices that his wedding band has once again come off, "You're ring."
"What about it?" Elliot looks down at his hands.
"You're not wearing it."
"You're correct."
"Any reason why?" Olivia tries not to pry for any information, but she is curious.
"I dunno," Elliot slumps back into his leather seat, "I guess I was just ready."
Satisfied with his answer she left him alone to scroll through his phone for a while. Only minutes go by when she hears her phone buzz from the cup holder, "Can you see who that's from?"
Elliot snatches her phone and reads aloud, "Patty Tucker. She wants to know if she can go out for drinks sometime soon." He looks up from the phone, "Who the hell is Patty Tucker?"
Olivia sinks her head down only slightly. She knows she is going to have to explain Ed.

A/N: Sorry for anyone who lives in Nebraska, but you do have a really good forensic science program. Anyway, stay tuned for the next chapter where Olivia dives deeper into Ed Tucker.
