Fire and Ice Ch. 05

In the morning, Flora walks into Bloom's room to wake her and Icy. "Bloom, Icy, time to…" The Nature Fairy lets out a gasp at the sight before her.

Stella's voice comes up from behind her. "Flora? What's…" the Princess of the sun stops as she noticed what Flora has seen.

"I knew that witch was up to something!" Musa comments. "What did Icy…" even the fairy from Melody is speechless.

It wasn't long before they were joined by Tecna and Aisha.

They are met by the sight of Bloom and Icy sharing a bed, under the same covers.

The Winx girls suddenly screamed, "WHAAAT!?"

.oOo.

Bloom and Icy now sit next to each other in the cafeteria, refusing to look one another in the eye. Embarrassed by the situation the Winx found them in. After their rude wake up from the rest of the Winx, they got ready to get breakfast.

Stella slams her tray in front of her. "I can't believe it!" she huffs.

"Do you have any idea how irresponsible that is?" Flora looks between the two.

Bloom turns to her friends. "Guys, it's just a misunderstanding."

Musa butts in. "I don't see the problem here."

"Yeah," Tecna adds. "They are both full grown women and well above their right to partake in such activities. Plus, they are technically…" the Technology Fairy lowers her voice. "…married!"

"Tecna is right," Aisha agrees. "And as such, we should expect more moments where they—"

Icy heard enough as she slams her hands on the table and shouts. "We didn't do anything!" at that the chatter from the other tables died down and all eyes are on her. The witch sits back down and finds Bloom grabbing her hand trying to sooth her. Icy uses her free hand to try and hide her face.

Bloom turns to her friends. "Icy was having a nightmare and trouble sleeping. So, we simply shared a bed in hopes of her calming down. That's all."

"That's all?" Flora questions.

The redhead then squirms in her seat. "We may have… cuddled. A little."

The Winx squealed at this news, once again gathering the attention of the cafeteria's inhabitants.

"Ugh! Kill me now," Icy mutters as her face gets warmer.

"I still don't see what the big deal is," Musa chimes in. "You guys must have done it that night."

"Well, yeah," Bloom's face is also warming up. "In theory we did. But we don't remember a thing from that night. Not to mention, when we woke up we were fully clothed."

The Winx girls shrugged at what they were told.

Stella then turns to Bloom to ask. "I know that you don't remember. But I still wonder how you got Icy to agree to do that?"

Icy raises her head up. "How do you know that she asked me? I could have easily asked her."

"Well," the princess is unsure as to how to answer that. "You see, Icy, compared to our tastes, yours is, eh…unique."

"And what does that mean?"

Feeling the anger rising, Bloom tries to calm her partner down "Icy?" she went unheard.

"What Stella means is that—" Musa tries to do damage control but is immediately cut off by Stella.

"I know what I mean. I cannot see you being the romantic type."

"Are you saying that I can't show someone a good time!?" Icy's voice starts rising.

"Well, when you put it that way? Yes. I hardly doubt you can set up a proper date."

The rest of the Winx girls shout. "Stella!?"

"Is that a Challenge?" Icy glares.

This caught Stella off guard. "What? No—"

"Bloom," the witch turns to her partner. "You better find something nice for tonight. Cause I'm gonna rock your world!"

.oOo.

"She really said that!?" Lucy asks as she and her best friend Mirta walk down the streets of Magix.

"Yeah," Mirta reconfirms. Still unsure if it really happened or not despite witnessing it herself.

Lucy shakes her head. "It's hard enough to believe that one of the Trix is living at Alfea. But to hear that they are also going on a date with one of the Winx?"

"I still can't believe it either. I still have to pinch myself whenever I see her in the hallway."

The witch looks over at her long-time friend. "She's not picking on you, is she?"

Mirta shakes her head. "Not really. I mean, at first she teased me, but she reeled back when Bloom caught her."

"Does kinda sound like they're an item."

"If you've seen how they act around each other, you'd think they are."

At that moment a large pair of yellow arms reach out from an alley and pulls the two in.

.oOo.

"Rock your world!?" Icy paces back and forth in an unused classroom. "Seriously? Why would I say something so stupid and cringy!?" she snaps at her audience consisting of Mirta, Lucy, and Knut. "I've never been on a date before. Yeah, I had crushes and then there was Tritannus. But we hardly dated. You guys have anything to say!?"

"Yeah," Lucy raised her hand. The witch has been leaning back and relaxing in her seat. "Why are we here?"

"Neither of my sisters are here for me to talk to and I most certainly cannot discuss this with the Winx!" Icy lets out a growl as she points at the former witch. "Mirta's here because she's the closest thing to a witch at this school and her insight on being a goody-goody might help me in my situation!"

"Uh, thank you," Mirta says.

"Knut's here," she points at the ogre who flinches. "because if I grabbed Mirta off the street then everyone would be suspicious. Then, I'll have pitchforks and torches after me."

Lucy laughs and sarcastically says, "Yeah! Cause an eight-foot ogre is less suspicious."

"And you," Icy points at the green haired witch. "being her," points back at Mirta, "friend, will alert both Alfea and Cloud Tower that she went missing with Red Fountain not far behind, making this meeting more impossible than it already is!"

The classroom door opens and in walks Palladium. "What's going here?"

"I'm in the middle of something!" Icy shouts.

Palladium goes to say something but stops once he notices the Ice Witch taking a deep breath.

"I'm sorry," she says calmly. "I have a problem and I'm working on it. I'm just trying to have a private meeting with my friends here," she gestures to the fairy, witch, and ogre sitting down at the desks. "I thought that since this class was not in use today that we can have it for now. Please just give us a few minutes and hopefully we'll be done."

The professor looks among the group. The Trix doing her best to maintain her composure, the frightened ogre, the calm yet worrisome fairy, and the disinterested witch. "Very well, Icy," he agrees. "I'll give you fifteen minutes. After that, I better find this room unoccupied," with that, he closes the door behind him as he leaves. As soon as the doors were shut, the witch loses her composure.

That's when Mirta speaks up. "Does this have anything to do with why you're here?"

"Yeah," Lucy adds in. "Are you really dating a fairy or something?"

Knut leans over the witch. "I overheard that She and the Bloom shared a bed last night."

The Illusion Fairy looks at the Ice witch in disbelief. "What!?"

Lucy looks up at the ogre, "You're kidding!?" now, she's intrigued. "I knew you had an obsession with the Dragon Flame, but I never thought you'd go that far."

Icy snaps at them. "We didn't do anything!" the room suddenly got colder. The witch takes a deep breath, and the temperature returns to normal. She calmly says, "I was having problems sleeping last night. So, Bloom and I simply slept next to each other. But that was it. Nothing happened beyond that. Any more questions?" at this, three hands raise up. "One that's not about what may or may not have happened last night?" With that, Knut and Mirta lower their hands.

"Lucy!"

"You still never answered my question," the green haired witch points out. "Are you dating a fairy?"

Icy turns away from them, "It's a bit more complicated than that."

"Oh, really? How so?"

The Ice Witch growls. She knows that if this meeting is going to go anywhere, then they'll need to know. "Bloom and I are sorta… married."

There was a long pause as the three process the information. Just before their brains start to fry, the let out a shout of "Whaaat!?"

As soon as Icy's hearing returned, she explains, "Look. We both so happened to be at the same bar one night and the next morning, I woke up as the new Mrs. Icy Peters."

"Aw!" Mirta cooed.

"I never even heard of a witch and a fairy getting hitched?" Lucy comments.

"Oh, Mistress," Knut stand up, "If I had known, I would have been there. Should I get you two a gift."

"Ugh, Knut," Icy facepalms, "If you were there, I would have hoped you'd object to the wedding."

"Why would you want that?" the green-haired girl ponders. "Is Bloom that bad of a partner?"

Mirta agrees. "Yeah! The two of you seemed nice together."

"Bloom's not the problem," Icy admits as she sits down and begins to remove one of her gloves. "These are," and shows off the wedding band. "Our rings are enchanted or something. Creating this magical bond between us. Whatever happens to one of us, happens to the other."

Lucy's face gains a sly, Cheshire grin. "Whatever, you say?" there's a twinkle in the witch's eyes.

.oOo.

Tecna is working on the computer when her phone rang. "Hello," she answers to find a hologram of Mirta.

"Hey, Tecna. I hope I'm not bothering you?"

"Not at all, Mirta," the tech fairy starts shutting her computer down. "I was just finishing up a program Timmy and I have been working on. Can I help you with anything?"

Mirta starts rubbing her arm. "You see, Tecna, I'm with Icy and we're doing an experiment."

"What kind of experiment?" Tecna is intrigued, but worried about the fact that Icy is involved. She's more opened with the witch being among them, however, that does not me she's fully trustworthy yet.

"Well, I need you to check on Bloom and tell me what she's doing."

"Okay?" the tech fairy gets up to head over to Bloom's room and cracks the door open.

Stella and Flora are in there with her. "How about this one?" the blond holds up a top.

Bloom shakes her head. "I don't know. I want to look nice, but I also don't want to overdo it."

"It helped if we knew what Icy has planned for tonight," Flora notes.

Stella continues digging through the closet. "This was all kind of a spring of the moment. Icy probably doesn't know either. Oh?" she pulls out a pair of heels. "I love the color. Mind if I barrow these for my own date with Brandon tonight?" Bloom nods.

Tecna holds her phone up to whisper. "She's picking an outfit for tonight."

"Okay," Mirta responds and nods to someone out of sight. "And how about now?"

The tech fairy continues watching her friend and notices nothing. That is until, Bloom suddenly starts laughing.

The other two occupants look over at her. Flora walks up to the redhead. "Bloom, sweetie. Are you alright?"

Bloom's only response is to shout. "Stop it!" as her laughter worsens. She then starts waving her hands around as if trying to swat something away and falls back on her bed.

.oOo.

Back in the classroom, Mirta is listening to Tecna.

"She's… laughing?" the technology fairy tells her. "Rather uncontrollably."

Mirta turns to Lucy. "It works!"

Lucy is using a feather to tickle Icy while the Trix is being held by a worried Knut.

"S-stop it!" Icy cries out during the torture. "Or, or I'll hex you!" she tries threatening. Which is hard when she's laughing.

The Illusion Fairy is worried though. As ridiculous the situation may be, she knows that a witch lives up to their threats. "Maybe we should stop?"

"Hold on a moment," Lucy insists. "I want to try one more thing," the green haired witch then uses the feather to tickle Icy's nose. The white-haired witch then sneezes, freezing the feather. Lucy drops it causing the feather to shatter.

From the other end of Mirta's phone, Tecna can be heard shouting, "Fire! Fire! Hurry! Get some water!"

Mirta quickly shouts, "Experiment's over! Thank you, Tecna! Bye!" and hangs up.

Icy then shouts, "Put me down, you stupid ogre!" at that, Knut does so. The Icy Witch takes a deep breath before turning to him. "Knut, if you ever do something like that again, I'll permanently freeze your feet to the floor." This causes the ogre to flinch. "And as for you!" she turns to Lucy. "I should turn you into a cricket and maybe then you'll think twice before messing with me!"

"Is that anyway to treat the girl that has a solution to your problem?"

The Trix glares at Lucy. "I'm listening."

"I have this voucher to get a reservation for two at the Enchanted Dominion."

Mirta lets out a gasp. "The Enchanted Dominion! That is one of the top restaurants in Magix. How did you get a reservation there?"

"I won it from a contest."

Icy raised a brow at this. "Why would you enter a contest for that? It's unlike a witch."

Lucy shrugged. "That was the first-place prize. I was aiming for second, which were concert tickets for Killer Discord. They wouldn't let me trade though. You can use the voucher since I'll never set foot there."

The white-haired witch thinks for a moment. "Where I would have preferred the concert tickets, I don't think Killer Discord's music would be in Bloom's taste. So, this is better."

"Okay, then. The voucher is good for an appetizer, two meals, and a dessert. I'll set up the reservation for you."

Icy glares at the green haired witch. "Okay. But no tricks! This reservation better be under my name. My legal name and nothing else."

"I swear that the only name on the reservation will be yours," Lucy grins.

This seems to have calmed the Trix down. "Now for my next problem," Icy slumps down. "What am I going to wear?"

Mirta smiles. "I might be able to help," she walks around Icy. "We're about the same size. I got just the thing."

Knut leaps up to Icy. "Mistress! You should also bring something nice for her. A gift."

The Illusion Fairy turns to the ogre. "Like flowers?"

"Or chocolate?"

"Or—" Mirta is cut off by Icy.

"Enough!" she shouts. "This is a lot to handle. This isn't just mine and Bloom's first date. It's also my first date in general. I just know that I'm going to screw this up," and her face falls into her hands.

Lucy places a hand on the Trix's shoulder causing her to look up. "Look, Icy. A first date in general is a big deal. I cannot promise you that everything will turn out alright. The important thing is that you're trying and that she'll appreciate that. If not, then she's not good enough for you. The best thing to remember though is that both of you have a good time."

Icy looks at her in disbelief. "How is she," the Ice Witch points at Mirta, "the fairy, yet you're the romantic?"

The green-haired witch glares at her. "Do you want to use the voucher or not?"

"I do! I really do," Icy relents. "To prove to you that I want it, I'll let you go ahead and make the reservation. And it's not because I don't trust you. I just want to show you my resolve."

Lucy sighs as she pulls out her phone and a slip of paper and calls the number on the paper. "Is this the Enchanted Dominion? Yeah, I have a voucher and would like to make a reservation for two. Name on the reservation is…" she turns to Icy with a sly grin. "…Mrs. Icy Peters."

.oOo.

Palladium is approaching the classroom that he let Icy and her friends use as he spots the white-haired witch exiting the room. She walks past him without any acknowledgement.

The professor came to check up on her and her friends as time was up.

Palladium opens the door to reveal that the entire room is covered in snow. Lucy, Mirta, and Knut are shivering in the middle with the snow piling on their heads.

Mirta glares at Lucy "Why did you do that?"

the green-haired witch only says, "Worth it."
