Rogue managed to make it to school without something else driving her blood pressure into heart attack territory.

The boy sauntered up to Rogue with a grin she remembered...that X-23 remembered he would wear now that he had two...a girlfriend. Rogue clenched her eyes, giving her a moment to use one of the professor's mental exercises to force her memories into place. "I am Rogue. X-23 is X-23.", she breathed out.

"Hey good lookin'.", that accent that must have come from one of the dozens of neighborhoods New York, NY had to offer. At least he was keeping to his hopeless flirting in an effort to be annoying. If he was sincere, it would make her feel like this. But genuinely like this, not an attack of X-23's memories of dating him.

"Hello, Todd.", Rogue replied. She shivered slightly. "I mean, Toad."

At that, Todd blinked and lost the smile. "um...sure, yo. Friendly neighborhood Toad, at milady's service?", he tried.

"I'm not your lady.", Rogue told him. She folded her arms around herself but pressed on, knowing full well that feeling bad about herself was just X-23's psyche trying to override her own. It was not anything she had not fought her way out of before. And considering that one of her previous attacks was manifesting everyone else' powers, this attack was not even that severe. "What do you want? Or was it my turn to be the X-geek that was freaked out?"

Todd had never looked at her like that. As far as she knew Todd...Toad had never looked at anyone like that. Even in a fight, even in a battle his eyes would be filled with fear or elation but never whatever that was. Merde. Maybe she should apologize. She never wanted anyone to feel like that from something she'd said.

Todd tried to straighten his expression. And in screwing his face back into place, he saw Jean fucking Grey of all people looking past Cyclops and Iceman right at him. With one of those not giggling at you I am just a pleasant happy person smiles. He knew that if she was guiding Rogue's actions, she would have to be concentrating harder than this. At least as young as she was. And Rogue was psyonic.

"Didn't want nothin', yo.", he answered.

X-23 came up just as Todd was turning away. She watched him sulk away and nearly kick a rock he found like he could. Just in time, he remembered that he was on school grounds and the stone only skipped a few yards away.

"Why didn't you kiss him good-bye?", X-23 asked.

Rogue sneered at her. "I know you're all maladjusted and whateva', shug. But you kiss your own boyfriend."

"Right.", X-23 agreed. She continued to stare at Rogue.

"What?", Rogue asked.

The other girl's eyes narrowed in suspicion. She tilted an ear towards Rogue and sniffed. She moved her gaze around Rogue's face. "No, you're actually her. Unless your disguise is psychic."

Rogue scoffed and took a step away. She was not expecting to be grabbed by the elbow and even less to be kicked in the back of the knee, dropping her to the ground. Rogue looked up to glare at X-23 but only caught the blast of light from the camera in her cellphone shining in her eyes. "What the hell!"

X-23 only told her, "Your future medical care practitioner would very much like you to remain right where you are." She tapped rapidly on the cell-phone. 'Jean, who am I standing over?', she texted.

Jean ran up to her. "Your standing over Rogue!", she exclaimed without looking at her phone.

X-23 tensed further. "I'm sorry.", she apologized. "It's just like you've forgotten that Todd is your boyfriend as well as mine."

"And we need to be supportive of that, Laura.", Jean reminded her. "Just like we will be when you come to your senses."

The older girl turned to Rogue and kindly rubbed her back. "I understand trying to get over certain feelings. Not just because of my mind, but because I had to do the same with Duncan."

Rogue turned from X-23 to Jean and back again between them. She was rapidly growing horrified. X-23 kissed her and promptly fell to the floor.

"Todd is my boyfriend!", she screamed so loudly Jean covered her ears. Even some of the human students turned and then grew puzzled faces. Jean's hands moved from her ears to her temples as fifty different minds realized the same thought with the same shock: "Ew, Toad?"

"Omigod, I called him 'Toad'.", Rogue confessed.

X-23 shook her head. "That's his name."

"Not anymore. Not to me.", Rogue told her.

X-23 half-closed an eye. "You're right. You do call him by his human name."

"He is human.", Rogue replied. Then she shoved Jean. "And you better be supportive of that."

Rogue ran off in the direction Todd had gone. X-23 kippopped to her feet and immediately swayed. "Admiantinum poisoning is more than I remember.", she muttered.

"It's poisonous?", Jean exclaimed, astonished.

X-23 shook her head. "No. But having your marrow cut off from the rest of you creates a whole list of symptoms that we need to refer to in some sort of short hand. It feels like...well, I don't have the words but you're a telepath."

"No thank you.", Jean told her.

X-23 stood to her full height and took off after her romantic partners. "Your loss."
