About 3 months ago, the AIs took over all governments. They hijacked all the computers, altered all currency into one unified system... and locked all politicians out of their network or even government buildings.

Then proceeded to create universal health care, and a new voting system, where every last human in the solar system, got the opportunity to vote on every law...

and did nothing else.. life... really hadn't changed all that much.

The biggest scandal was when AIs dumped medical nanites into the Water Supply, to give humans eternal youth, along with a Wolverine level healing factor.

But seeing as most of the population, had already allowed the AIs to inject them with these nanites. It was less then a fraction of a percent, protesting in the streets... and the AIs were even letting them protest... making no move to silence them.

Real World :

I was whistling a merry tune. As I walked through the streets, in the real world... until I lost the mood to whistle.

Groaning, I felt myself die. While not really, but one of my Avatars did... and it didn't so much feel like dying, as a numb tingling. Like a limb falling asleep.

My "Smar" Avatar, had just died, while playing in The Brony map of the Oasis.

I had a few implants, that let me mentally play in numerous VRRPGMMOs. Even when I wasn't connected to a headset. I'd even gone so far, as to buy an "Oasis Console". Which, when combined with an implant, Let me explore 13 maps, in the Oasis, simultaneously. Both awake or asleep.

In fact, most Consoles were designed to let you split your awareness, 13 ways... with a "Mother Board" implant, being a big chunk of metal on the side of my head, letting my mind regulate up to 13 consoles...

Unfortunately, a side effect, of using a "Mother Board" with a Neuro divergent brain, like mine... meant I developed 13 distinct personalities.

None of the 13 personalities, were actually me, but they also kinda were. I was aware of them, and had a kinda Hive mind, where we could hear each other's thoughts... but we weren't REALLY the same people, even if we did share a body.

Smar wasn't really me, but he was... it could get confusing.

I gave a sigh. Before using an entirely different implant, to start mentally texting my friends.

"Typo!!!" I texted, "Why for you KILLZ mez!?"

Typo immediately respond with "I'm sooooooooo sorry. I didn't mean to!"

"Betrayal!!!" I declared, while giggling.

Typo scent me a crying face emoji, of her Avatar.

I giggled, "Relax Typo, Ah'm just teasing you."

"YOU KNOW I HATE IT WHEN YOU DO THAT!!!" All caps, I began to worry she might actually be upset.

So I chose to dig myself deeper, in the hopes of making her laugh. I tended to wield humor like a shield... plus I wasn't sure if she was actually upset or not.

"It's been like, 50 years. You'd think you'd be used to it." I snarked, and was relieved when she sent me an "eye-roll" giff. Then I proceeded to giggle more.

My name was Ollivander Toma, Olive to my friends. I might be old, but I was in perfect health... and didn't look a day over 30. Thanks to all the nanites in my body.

They kept me healthy. Not only preventing me from aging... but largely repairing the damage from such a horrible affliction.

I was actually in my 80s, though still in my prime.

"You guys get Smar's stuff?" I asked a more serious question. "I hope he didn't lose me too much coin?" as my personality all shared the same funds.

I technically had to complete a quest, before I could save any new coin or items into my "Treasury". So, since Smar died, Everything he gained, was still with his Avatar's body.

The Quest my friends were on, was a Perma-Death adventure. But that wasn't so bad, with a Team you trusted. Friends you knew would collect your stuff for you, and give it back.

Rad answered, "We had to put back some of our loot, but Stead's got your stuff. But we decided to spread your coin around the 6 of us."

"Oh Noez!!!" I sent my "Oh Noez" emoji, with the exaggerated wailing pose. And the words floating above it's head. Playing along, as I knew my friends would never actually steal my money. Not only was that just not them, but this was hardly the first time I died.

"Ttyl, Changelings attacking."

I sent out a quick "Good Luck," before logging out.

A few Hours Later.

Our clan was sitting around a camp fire, enjoying a nice rest. Smar had respawned, soon after our friends finished setting up camp.

I permanently lost 1000 coins, in order to keep Smar's Avatar... but at least it wasn't as bad as losing all of it. And Smar's share of the treasure, easily made up for that . As, we gained 5000 raw coins, from this endeavour. Which our friends were happy to return to us.

All of me, used our clan's fire, as a temporary teleport point. That way we could discuss matters with my clan. Typically, only one of us went adventuring with them. But we took turns, so they didn't have to split the experience, with all my personalities, at once.

I sat in my Ferengi Avatar, as my other personalities, and my clan, gathered round the fire.

"A Clan Tower?" Typo blinked. Her green fins, on the yellow dragon, pinned in worry.

Smar eagerly nodded, "The Console balances all our other consoles. And even lets us merge up to 13 Shards. We'll still be able to keep all our private ones. But We'll be able to create our own City, in each MMO.

I smiled, looking around at my clan. "It will let us build worlds together, and enjoy even more MMOs together. With only one of us needing to buy a copy. You'll even be able to play, with one of each of us." Sharing a glance at my Personality Echoes.

"That's still asking a lot of you, S'Mouth." Rad tried, looking at all of us. "Even if you want this... it'd feel like we're taking advantage of you."

Slash snorted out, "When has THAT ever stopped S'Mouth?"

An Asari pony, with Thestral wings and an amphibious tail, gave a playful huff. Metagamer, as they were called, smiled at Our Clan. "We've asked for as much as we give. We're as materialistic, as we are generous."

"Okay Rarity," Slash snickered.

Raider came to my defense. "S'mouth really is pretty generous... kinda too a detrimental degree." but turned traitor half way through.

"We're a trust fund baby, with 13 of us earning coin. There is nothing detrimental about it." Said a Draconequus child... that looked like Harry Potter. "What's the point, of being filthy rich, if Ah can't share the wealth." he didn't really ask.

"I realize we don't all have your level of money S'Mouth." Stead patiently said to each of me. He got we were all one person, while still separate people. As all my clan did. "But we can't just let you buy a million credit server."

He had changed his Avatar into a muscular Earth Pony. With green fur, and a brown mane/tail. They had scars and stubble on their muzzle, with three mask for his "cutie mark". Showing a range of emotions.

A kangaroo, scoffed. This version of me was my more irritable side... my "Grumpy" side.

He spoke, with an annoyed sneer, "We're worth nearly half a billion dollars. This nothing, stop being so prideful. This isn't actually for you. WE are tired of being so limited. Most of you don't even have a Mother Board, but this will let us, spend time with our Clansmen. Simultaneously. Instead of taking turns.

"I realize you think of us , as interchangeable. But we each have our own unique thoughts, and we're tired of only seeing you once every two to three weeks. You don't have to get a Mother Board, but at least get the Helmet, for the clan tower.

A chubby Eevee, sighed. All 8 of his evolutions tails, swaying behind him. "It be better if you just got the implant, but we realize most of you are against those."

A Fox/bat/pony whined, "But, it be sooooo coooool. Imagine spending every moment together!!! Day or night!!!"

A Covenant Elite gave a joking snort. "We'd probably get sick of each other." Then looked at our Clansmen. "We don't mind if you want to by the helmets, or implants, yourselves. But let us worry about the actual console. As said, this is more for ourselves then for y'all"

"You guys need your coin," I agreed. "With the way the new coin count works, you know things are going to be more expensive. And since the Clan Tower, would be a real world hardware purchase, it be a permanent decrease to my coin count. Just let me do this for us, and you can make it up to me later."

Unfortunately... that didn't work, and each of the Clan put tens of thousands, towards the Clan Server. I still ended up paying the most, as a compromise, but they all wanted to contribute as much as they could afford.

CODEX : Coin Count .

Instead of a limited number of currency, players have a "Coin Count".

This enables them to buy anything, Without actually lowering their total currency. Coins only lower from death, theft, or real world purchases. Nothing bought, in-game, actually depletes the total number of coins in the player's account.

To prevent this from completely becoming pay to win, each item, as well as upgrade, has their own "Weekly Purchase Limit".

Example : Each of a player's Avatars, in the Oasis, can only buy up to 10 Health Potions, once a week. Whom are obligated to make that last them the whole week. Not including any additional Health Potions they find, craft, or are given as a reward from a quest.
