On Today's Episode: The spies split off into two teams, one to disarm the remaining cold traps across Beverly Hills, and the other to take on Frankie Dude and Gelee's trump card, the Blizz-O-Matic. It might indeed be a cold day in hell if the spies can't finish this double-fronted battle quickly. Can they thwart the villains' plans, or is their summer over permanently?
Act 3: A Cold Death
8:03 P.M. – Somewhere in the Sky
Spy Team A had just made it out of the ocean and caught up to Dr. Gelee and Frankie Dude.
"End of the line, you frozen punks!" Sortiliena proclaimed.
"Oh, what an original line," Gelee taunted.
"Original... yes; fact... HELL YES!" Sortiliena declared.
"I'm gonna make this very simple, since I'd rather finish our summer on a high note," Nick remarked. "Give it up, or there's gonna be hell to pay."
"No doubt about it," Haruka growled. "Because you're probably gonna get your asses handed to you by one of us. Who's it gonna be?"
"And that's where you'd be wrong, you little cluck!" Frankie Dude sneered. "Behold, our glorious new invention, the Blizz-O-Matic!"
Gelee deactivated the cloaking mechanism, and the Blizz-O-Matic was fully visible, being a large cannon resembling Terrence's Shoot-O-Matic, only full of ice formula canisters linked to multiple parts of the cannon barrel, and a platform underneath it that was equipped with jet boosters to allow it to float.
"I hope you're ready for a new ice age, spies!" Gelee cackled.
"You should be saying that about yourselves..." Nick boldly stated.
"Actually, I think it's you who should be frozen with fear! ...how was that?" May started.
"It was perfect," Alex commented.
"Hey, I'm the only one allowed to make the ice puns here!" Gelee shouted, the Blizz-O-Matic turning and firing at May, a large stream of blue light erupting from the cannon barrel.
Nick raised a psychic barrier to block the blast before going on the offensive.
"I hope you two are ready for some pain," Nick proclaimed. "Because you've got a lot to answer for."
"Oh, we'll see, won't we?!" Frankie laughed, taking a sniper position above the main cannon and firing jets of high-pressure water from the secondary weapon ports.
Alex raised a Sonic Disintegrator Boombox to blow the water shots away, only for the Boombox to be frozen solid by another shot from the Blizz-O-Matic.
"Aw, man, and I liked that one, too," Alex groaned.
"I hope the others are having some luck with those traps," Haruka stated.
8:12 P.M. – Santa Monica Beach
"Have these people been trapped here all this time?" Clover wondered.
"We should be lucky they haven't succumbed to the cold either!" Mat exclaimed.
"And I personally won't leave them in there for another minute!" Melissa added.
"We better get to work quickly then," Sam emphasized. "Everyone spread out and take a trap!"
After picking a trap to disarm, the spies went to work, doing what they could with some occasional help from RiCO. Every now and then, one of the spies would glance into the sky, where they could see a large machine floating there, no doubt Gelee's trump card.
"Ugh, this one looks way too solid," Dawn quipped. "Nothing I do is making it budge!"
"Maybe we need some speed," Bridget stated as she reached for her brooch. "Sonic Mode, online!"
Once she was transformed, Bridget equipped a Metal Masher Boxing Glove and blitzed forward, lashing out to punch the door of the ice cage. The force of the punch combined with Bridget's speed was more than enough to cane in the ice bars making up the door of the cage, allowing everyone trapped inside to run for the hills.
"Boom," Bridget quipped.
Clover and Blaine both fired Electromagnetic Curling Irons at one point on the trap they'd picked, the twin blasts slowly melting enough of the cage to let its prisoners free.
"And Sammy said to never cross the beams," Clover teased.
Mat and Britney both tossed a pair of Incendiary Earrings that stuck to a side of another ice trap, the detonation breaking down one of its walls and allowing everyone inside to go free.
"Is that all of them?" Melissa asked once the spies had all regrouped.
"I think so," Sam replied, opening her X-Powder just to be sure. "Any sign of other traps, RiCO?"
"Nope, you're all in the clear," RiCO answered. "And on that note, you should probably get up there and help the others."
"Yeah, that thing looks kinda nasty," Nozomi noted. "Let's go kick some keesters, everybody!"
With that, the spies all activated their Jetpack Backpacks and flew into the sky towards the Blizz-O-Matic.
"Whoa!" Sortiliena gasped as she juked away from a pair of water blasts that had been aiming straight for her. "Why don't you two get off that thing so I can kick your faces in myself?"
"Sorry, little combat lady, I've been through that ordeal already, and I do not approve!" Frankie shouted, rapid-firing water blasts to keep the spies away.
While this was happening, Gelee aimed the main cannon of the Blizz-O-Matic upwards to fire a burst of ice into the air, then firing his own laser pistol at the ice chunk to shatter it into shards that fell towards the spies.
Nick quickly huddled everyone close to him so he could surround them all with a psychic bubble that protected them from the falling ice shards.
"Now you're getting on my nerves," Nick growled.
"Ask us if we care!" Gelee cackled, only to clutch the side of his chair for dear life as a blast from a Cyclone Blast Hairdryer struck the side of the Blizz-O-Matic and sent it careening through the air.
"Maybe we'll give you a reason to care," Sam proclaimed as the rest of the spies joined the battle.
"Is everything on the up and up down there?" Haruka wondered.
"Yup, all of the traps have been dealt with," Melissa answered. "That just leaves these two spodes and their dumb cannon thing."
"So help us, we ain't through playing with you yet!" Frankie shouted as the Blizz-O-Matic surrounded itself with a bubble of water, then electrified the bubble so the spies couldn't get close to it.
Alex, however, simply flew close enough to spray a bottle of Ice Queen Perfume that froze the water bubble and stopped conducting the electricity, allowing Nick to shatter the shield with a Final Shine Attack before firing another directly into the Blizz-O-Matic itself.
"Oh, we haven't even begun to fight yet," Gelee cackled as he fired his own freeze ray alongside the Blizz-O-Matic, forcing the spies to dodge double the shots of ice beams.
"Man, this is starting to get really annoying," Haruka growled.
"We just need a distraction," Sam stated. "That should give us enough time to set up the Vortex Blaster and blow this junk heap out of the sky."
"I like the sound of that," Haruka giggled as she flew towards the Blizz-O-Matic to draw its attention away.
"You heard our leading lady, let's put 'em together!" Nick proclaimed.
Haruka continued to duck and weave through the sky, avoiding both water shots and ice blasts while taunting Gelee and Frankie all the while to make sure their attention stayed on her.
Sam started first, producing an Electromagnetic Curling Iron and tossing it to Nick. Alex followed up with a Laser Lipstick and a Cyclone Blast Hairdryer. Nick connected the Laser Lipstick right above the barrel of the Electromagnetic Curling Iron, and the Cyclone Blast Hairdryer on top of the ECM, just behind the control panel. Clover finished by throwing Nick a Helicopter Hand Fan and a pair of wings from a spare Jetpack Backpack. Nick attached the Helicopter Hand Fan to the underside of the ECM's barrel, then placed the wings on either side of the ECM.
The combination weapon now complete, Sam, Alex, and Clover joined Nick to hold the weapon, Sam and Alex holding the jetpack wings, Clover grasping the side handle and Nick holding the main handle, his finger on the firing trigger.
"Stand still, you little gnat!" Gelee growled.
"Make me," Haruka laughed.
The Blizz-O-Matic suddenly swerved her way. "Gladly," Gelee cackled.
May flew underneath the Blizz-O-Matic and struck the underside of the floating platform with her anchor, causing the Blizz-O-Matic to warble as it took the shot, which missed Haruka completely thanks to May's interference.
Haruka flew back towards the rest of the spies as Nick hefted the Vortex Blaster in his hands. "The others agreed that you and I should be the one to blast this thing apart, given what they tried to do to us," Nick stated.
"Fine by me," Haruka quipped as she grabbed the other handle of the Vortex Blaster. "Let's wreck this thing, Nick!"
"FIRE!" Nick and Haruka shouted together as Nick pulled the firing trigger.
The blades of the Helicopter Hand Fan extended outward and started spinning rapidly. Nick pulled the trigger again, and the Electromagnetic Curling Iron, the Laser Lipstick, and the Cyclone Blast Hairdryer all fired their payload into the spinning blades. Two seconds later, the Vortex Blaster unleashed a massive four-way blast consisting of a large electromagnetic beam surrounded by a spiraling wind blast and a barrage of laser bolts.
The blast screamed through the late summer air and collided with the Blizz-O-Matic, and erupted in extravagant fashion before tearing the Blizz-O-Matic apart, Gelee and Frankie forced to eject as their machine exploded.
As they fell, Nick raised his right hand to catch both of them in his psychic hold, allowing Haruka to fly over and hit them both with a massive slap across the face.
"That's what you get for trying to freeze us to death, you sick bastards," Haruka stated.
"Now who's not playing fair?" Frankie whined.
"You freaks never play fair," Nick retorted, clenching his hand to seal both villains inside a psychic bubble, then flicking his hand upwards to send them off to containment. "Get used to it."
"Well, am I glad that's over," Britney chuckled.
"You're telling me," Sam responded. "Now let's get back to W.O.O.H.P. and check in with Jerry so we can enjoy what's left of our summer vacation."
"I'm down for that!" Clover exclaimed as the spies all flew towards W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters in the distance.
9:01 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters
Jerry's Office
"Excellent work again, spies," Jerry commended. "Dr. Gelee and Frankie Dude will be dealt with to be sure they don't get out again."
"I'll see to it," RiCO added.
"Thanks, Jer," Sam quipped. "All in a day's work."
"Before you send us back, Jerry," Alex stated. "Hopefully you can look over Nick and Haruka for hypothermia before you send us back?"
"Oh, right, you were stuck in the pool with an ice cover..." RiCO stated.
"Yes, please come with me since you can never be too sure," Jerry remarked.
Nick and Haruka complied, and thankfully, it didn't take too long to get an analysis.
"According to our scanners, they seem mostly normal," Jerry proclaimed. "Just a slight drop in temperature because of the ice dome."
"Nick was using his powers to keep us both warm really helped," Haruka chuckled. "But, to be honest, I still don't know how long we could have kept that up."
"Thank goodness for that mystery girl," Nick quipped.
"I wonder just who the heck she is," Alex wondered. "I mean, she shows up seemingly out of nowhere to bust you guys out and then leaves without saying much?"
"I'm sure we'll get our answers to that sooner or later," May stated. "That's usually how these things work, right?"
Before long, the spies were sent back.
11:58 P.M. – The Spies' Beach House
After being sent back and eating a light dinner, the three main couples had their well-deserved time in bed, especially Nick and Alex. Sam and Mat were kissing in their own bed.
"I'm glad to see your spirits are lifted, Mat," Sam whispered to her fiancée.
"And I'm glad you've stayed by my side since I know there's way more to life than the series I've followed for as long as I have," Mat replied.
("Cheerleader" by OMI plays)
Sam knew she wasn't much into particular sports or a die-hard fan like Mat was, but she would not have been a good girlfriend/fiancée if she didn't stand by Mat.
"Hey, summer's winding down, Mat... so..." Sam giggled and tried to climb on top of Mat.
He didn't say no, and the two lovers resumed kissing.
"Hey, we'll have plenty more nights in here next summer," Mat told me.
"Yes, I know," Sam laughed. "But we head back to Mali-U soon, and I'd be crazy if I didn't get one more night like this before we have to head back."
"I hear ya," Mat chuckled as they got back to kissing.
Meanwhile, with Nick and Alex, they were doing much of the same thing.
"It's nice to get some together time, huh?" Alex giggled. "Especially considering that summer's just about over..."
"Tell me about it," Nick chuckled. "That dastardly university calls us back once again. But, until then..."
"You must be reading my mind," Alex quipped.
"That's kinda what I do," Nick teased as he leaned closer to Alex, their lips meeting halfway.
8:59 A.M. – The Spies' Beach House
The Following Morning
When the following day came, everybody elected on another pool day after breakfast with summer winding down.
"INCOMING!" Bridget shouted as she ran and jumped in the pool next to Clover.
Nick and Haruka were sitting in the jacuzzi instead; nobody could blame them after what happened on the last mission.
It didn't take long before May gave her classic "PIRATE DIVE!" and splashed in the pool, too. As luck would have it, she landed on top of Britney this time.
"OUCH!" Britney exclaimed.
"May, I hope you realize how those can hurt sometimes," Blaine commented.
"That's the beauty of unannounced Pirate Dives, Blaine," May reasoned. "And don't think you're going to be avoided either, Mat..."
"I don't," Mat remarked. "But take what I did as a fair warning."
May certainly remembered when Mat grabbed her by the ankles and Melissa tickled the bottoms of her feet.
"I'd take that under advisement myself," Nozomi laughed. "Always remember that payback's a bitch sometimes."
Suddenly, May found herself swiftly yanked underwater by Britney, who had that look on her face. Knowing what that meant, May decided to swim away before Britney could catch her.
"...case in point," Nozomi sighed.
While the fun in the pool continued, Haruka looked at Nick while they relaxed in the jacuzzi.
I guess a slight fling wouldn't hurt... Haruka thought since she and Nick were childhood friends after all.
Nick couldn't help but glance Haruka's way, having heard that specific thought. But, considering the circumstances, he figured one more free tease couldn't hurt.
Just as expected, Haruka decided to strike a pose, and Nick made a dramatic-sounding noise before falling back into the water in a comical way.
"As usual, Nick, you're just too easy," Haruka giggled.
"Hey, I'm used to your antics by now, you know," Nick quipped.
Haruka's teasing smile softened as she reached her hand out to Nick, and they both high-fived each other.
10:12 A.M. – Location Unknown
She skidded to a stop at the edge of a three-way tunnel back in the hyperdimensional pocket.
Mentally, she was kicking herself for chickening out the other day. She had been right there, after all.
Once again, though, she chalked that up to the "conditioning" she'd been through at... that place.
Btu she also knew she'd have to shake that off sooner or later if she ever hoped to stand against him.
She looked back at her Wondercube as it played back a recording of one of the hide-and-seek games she'd played with her friends back there.
Oh, if only they knew where she was right now...
She shook her head to clear those thoughts away. This wasn't the time for regrets.
After reviewing footage the Wondercube had found of the spies and their exploits, she decided that the next time she met up with them (which would hopefully be soon), she was going to ask them for assistance.
But would they believe her, though?
She quickly shook her head to dispel that notion as well. From what she had looked up about the spies, they had been through pretty much everything this world could throw at them, even multiple adventures in alternate dimensions, and lord only knew what kind of wackiness awaited in those places.
She programmed another set of coordinates into her Wondercube and continued traversing the hyperdimensional pocket, knowing for sure she'd cross paths with the spies again soon enough.
If her hunch was correct, then they were the only hope for this world's survival.

Final Note from Mat49324: And that's all for Danger in the Deep Freeze. We hope you enjoyed this one that was also full of water to say the least. We're also currently getting close to finishing chapter 3 of our movie, Another Side, Another Story, and we hope you'll tune in for those. Also, if you noticed we skipped #124, it's not by accident – that's our movie project. However, as I said before, we WILL have our eighth season completed before you even see chapter 1 of that movie fic. If all goes well, we should be done by the halfway point of our current season. For now, we're moving forward to our next project titled Presidential Panic, which deals with a grown up Madison, along with the President in the TV series. Here's The Blue Time Ranger for that explanation and anything else he'd like to say.
Final Note from The Blue Time Ranger: And that's all she wrote for this one! Two water-based capers in a row, huh? We promise it probably wasn't intentional, but that's just how things go when we get ideas. Also, our seventh movie is chugging along nicely, but once again, I should say that we're not going to post it until the end of season eight. I'm just hoping the site gets its crap together, especially with the email alert nonsense lately...
Anyways, let's talk about what's coming up next time on Totally Spies: The New Adventures! For this caper, the president's daughter Madison is making her New Adventures debut, along with two very interesting villains, one who we haven't seen since New Adventures season one, and another who hasn't been seen at all barring a robotic version in Is It Over, Clover?. And as for our mystery guest with the do-everything cube, we'll finally be getting some answers about her and what she's escaping from, next time on Presidential Panic, which will be posted by me. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of Presidential Panic, and we'll see you next mission!

After the customary tube slide that they'd done so often, the spies all landed in Jerry's office, changing into their spy suits after landing.
"One last summer beatdown is in order, huh, Jer?" Clover chuckled. "Who's the lucky winner today?"
Nick then noticed that, aside from Jerry and RiCO, there was someone else in the office with them, and she appeared to be about eighteen years old, with short, chin-length purple hair in a bob similar to Alex's, but with bangs.
"...hold the flip-truckin' phone, is that who I think it is?" Clover gasped.
"Oh, my gosh, it's Madison!" Alex exclaimed. Madison was the daughter of the previous United States president who Sam, Alex and Clover had been assigned to babysit when Jerry and the president had gone for a fishing trip, and though she had been bratty an cocky at twelve, they'd attributed it to the life she'd had growing up with the secret service, and after being kidnapped by her former nanny Mrs. Quivers and saved by the spies, she had grown to respect them.
"Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it, Madison?" Sam stated.
"Tell me about it," Madison admitted. "Time really flies sometimes, huh?"
"Oh, don't I know that," Nick chuckled.
"While we're here, I just wanted to apologize again for the way I treated you three so long ago," Madison stated.
"Hey, people grow up, Madison," Mat replied. "It's no problem, really."
"But onto the more pressing matter, did something happen, Madison? Is that why you're here at W.O.O.H.P.?" May asked.
"To make an extremely long story short, my father's been kidnapped, and W.O.O.H.P. was the only one I could turn to for help in finding him," Madison responded.
"And if I remember six years ago correctly, I'm going to guess that Mrs. Quivers is involved somehow?" Sam wondered.
"You'd be right on the money, Sam," RiCO answered, waving her hand to change the office viewscreen to a mugshot of Mrs. Quivers and another villain, Lenore von Schram.
"Wait, wait, isn't that the nutty old bag who tried to kill that guy from 'Days of Our Spies'?" Alex gasped.
"Is that show still on?" Britney asked.
"Yeah, but it's getting weird in recent episodes," Clover responded. "I'm not sure if I can explain it well without melting your brain..."
"Where was the last place you saw your father, Madison?" Nick asked. "We might be able to figure something if we retrace our steps."
"The last place I remember seeing dad was on our trip to the Washington Monument," Madison explained. "I went to the gift shop to get something, but when I came back, he was gone."
"Then that should be our first stop," Sam proclaimed. "Let's get moving, everyone!"
To be continued in Totally Spies: Presidential Panic...
