I hope you guys like this one! Also, I plan on writing one long story for the month of December. I'm not sure what fandom I should write it in, so let me know if you have any thoughts. I have a google form link on my tumblr if you want to respond that way! Otherwise let me know in a review!

Eadlyn walked with purpose across her room, her Halloween costume swinging around her ankles. She had been seven for seven months now and was eager to show off her new seven-year-old dancing skills to the people at the Halloween ball her parents were throwing.

Her mother had suggested that she and Ahren dress up as a pair, but Eadlyn had adamantly refused. Ahren had said he would dress to match costumes with their four-year-old brother, Kaden. That had appeased their mother, and Eadlyn was off the hook.

They had decided to dress as a knight and a dragon. Kaden being the knight in plate armor and a fake sword, and Ahren in an elaborate dragon costume. They seemed to be happy, and it was quite the funny sight when Ahren would give Kaden a piggyback ride, seeing a knight reside a dragon instead of slaying it.

Eadlyn had opted to dress as a ghostly queen. With her maid, Shelly's, help, she had painted her skin a silvery white to mimic the traditional depiction of a ghost. A new dress had been made for her in a deep, beautiful, red with a silvery sheer overlay, again to give the impression of being a ghost. She had also been allowed to borrow one of her mother's tiaras, and she had chosen a silver based, ruby embedded tiara.

"Are you ready to show your father your costume?" Shelly asked as she put one final bobby pin into Eadlyn's hair.

Eadlyn nodded. "Yes!" she exclaimed, running out of her room and down the hall to her father's office. When she stopped outside the door, she heard voices inside.

"You two look amazing!" her mother was saying, most likely to Ahren and Kaden. "Your costumes are well put together!"

Deciding to make her entrance then, Eadlyn opened the heavy oak door as fast as she could. Stalking into the room, all eyes were on her. Kaden hid his face in Ahren's chest at the sight.

Her mother smiled. "You're so cute, Eady, darling."

Her father nodded, agreeing with his wife. "Your mother is right, you look beautiful, too."

Eadlyn glared at her parents, how dare they call her cute and beautiful, she was supposed to be scary! "I'm not cute! I'm scary."

"Sorry, Eady, you're too cute to be scary."

Kaden then removed his head from Ahren's chest. "You're wrong, Mamma! Eady is so scary!"

Their mother laughed and shook her head. "If you say so, Kaden."

That evening was the ball. The guests were mostly family and other palace staff, though a few countries had been invited. One of which included France, Queen Daphne and her daughter, Princess Camille.

All the children in attendance had dressed up in a costume, and some of the adults had as well. Eadlyn was surprised to see her parents in matching pirate costumes. Kaden and Ahren were waiting with Eadlyn outside of the ball room. They were going to be announced to the party goers as they entered, like their parents were during important dinners.

Also inside, they saw their aunt and uncle, May and Gerad, talking to their mother. May was wearing a butterfly dress that Eadlyn was sure she had seen her mother in in a picture once. Gerad wasn't dressed in a costume, but was in a suit.

Miss Marlee and her husband, Sir Carter, were dressed as a pair of angels. Their children hovered around them for the moment, Kile one year older than her was wearing a goblin costume. His sister, Josie, four years younger than him, was wearing a bright pink fairy costume.

The trumpets blew, it was time for Eadlyn and her brothers to enter the room. "Presenting Her Highness, Princess Eadlyn, His Highness, Prince Ahren, and Prince Kaden!" The page said loudly, gaining the attention of the entire room.

The siblings entered the room amidst applause. Some of the adults cooed at their costumes, but none of them stopped walking until they got to their parents.

America beamed at them. "You three look great, and you did very well. Have some fun," she said, letting them go off to find other kids to play with.

Eadlyn and Ahren, with Kaden in tow, made their way over to Kile and Josie. Miss Marlee and Sir Carter smiled at them before wandering off towards Eadlyn's parents.

Kaden and Josie wandered off, away from the older kids, talking about the bugs they had been finding out in the garden.

"Hey, Kile," Ahren said.

"Hi, Ahren, Eadlyn," Kile responded politely.

"Why would you ever choose a goblin to dress as?" Eadlyn asked, looking at Kile's costume.

He shrugged. "I wanted to be scary for Halloween. I thought that was your goal too."

Eadlyn frowned. "Yes, it was. And, I am scary."

"You look like a queen. How is that scary?"

"A ghost queen!" She snapped and left the boys behind her.

She wasn't crying. Princesses didn't cry. That's what her brother always said. She was, though, very annoyed at Kile, and at Ahren for not helping her defend her point. Quickly she found Aunt May, talking to Uncle Gerad by the snack table.

"Hi, Eadlyn," Aunt May said, grinning as she gave her a silly curtsy. "You look positively terrifying."

She grinned, finally someone could tell she was trying to be scary. "Thank you! Wasn't that Mom's dress?" She asked.

May looked down at it then back to Eadlyn. "Yes, but she gave it to me this year. One of the seamstresses in the palace was able to alter it to fit me."

Then Uncle Gerad broke in. "Do you know when your mother wore that dress?"

Eadlyn shook her head. "When?" She asked, looking at her aunt and uncle with questions in her eyes.

"It was made for her during her Selection. Your father wanted to do something special for her and so he threw a ball, kinda like this one and America went dressed as a butterfly," May answered.

"She doesn't like dressing scary, does she?" Eadlyn said, making her aunt and uncle giggle at her.
