Opening Song – Colors by Flow
"This sucks~" Monoma drawled within the literal third building used today. "This isn't a complete Class B team."
"Come on man, lighten up!" Kirishima cheered. "We get to show off now! It's not every day we get to fight with our quirks like this!"
"Please don't talk to me."
'This was getting ridiculous!' Akechi had completely underestimated Monoma's irritating personality.
"Monoma-san, would it not be wise to cooperate together?" Akechi asked with subtle annoyance. He liked to be the nice and kind individual but this was beginning to grate his nerves. It was also affecting his focus, on how will Amamiya-san attempt to complete the objective.
"Seriously, lighten up!" Kirishima once more said, pushing further. "Heroes got to have teamwork, right? Arguing like this isn't going to get us anywhere."
"Fine~" Monoma drawled but he didn't seem to truly acknowledge the issue. He sighed and faced Akechi.
"So, Do you have any ideas for a battle plan? I know for a fact that I can't fight Shishida, I can't copy Mutant Quirks… then again, I can use Kendo's quirk, thanks to her I was able to copy her quirk while she was manhandling me earlier…" He paused a moment, "Although, you also have a powerful quirk…" Monoma commented. "Being able to Summon a spirit whenever you want… maybe I should copy it and summon my own?"
Akechi sighed, He didn't really like explaining his 'quirk'.
"I'd strongly advise against it Monoma-san. To use my quirk – Persona – only I and other 'capable' individuals are able to handle it. If you were to copy mine, I wouldn't know the possible side effects. You 'may' be able to summon one or you can easily implode from the inside out. I doubt you'll want to experiment with mines~."
"Really? That sucks," Monoma frowned and turned to Kirishima. "What about you?"
"My quirk is Hardening," He explained. "I can make my body really hard to withstand loads of attacks. I can probably take on the Shishida guy you mentioned."
Monoma gave him a once-over. "Yeah, you probably could… though I doubt it. So that means that while you can take care of him, I can either deal with Kendo or that Amamyia guy…"
"I'd advise not fighting Amamyia-san either," Akechi cut in. "His quirk…It is very much similar to mine." Monoma sighed exaggeratedly.
"Great, just great. My greatest asset is copying other quirks– and I can only copy the quirks of TWO people in a battle with SIX people!" He rubbed his brow in agitation.
"I have an idea. Monoma why don't you copy Kirishima's quirk and provide assistance to him while he fights Shishida, Monoma you shouldn't have an issue with Kendo either." Akechi planned.
"And you'll be dealing with Amamyia. Your quirks are similar enough after all." Monoma nodded.
"Oh yeah, I'm always up for a good old brawl!" Kirishima claimed as he smashed two hardened knuckles together.
Akechi leaned against the prop Bomb and contemplated.
Monoma would deal with Kendo, his own natural strength should prevail against hers even with her copied power. Kirishima might struggle against Shishida, but once Monoma was done with Kendo he could help out.
Now make your move Amamyia. The Board has been set.
Ren stared at the building before him. It was the most standard design for a building that there could be. However, he did notice a few differences as opposed to regular buildings.
The glass was bulletproof, and the doors up front were also made to resist brute force, which might be the same for every other door.
Luckily it was actually the only door, the entire inner sanctum of the building had no doors, only corridors and empty rooms for ambushes and traps.
This was going to be worthwhile training against human opponents. Fighting against superpowered demigods, witches, and some animated skeletons wasn't a good comparison for him to have while against much more normal opponents.
He didn't want to accidentally shatter someone's skull… again, then again a quick cast of [Dia] can fix that, but his thoughts were truly elsewhere.
Akechi…what are your true intentions…?
"So, what's the plan?" Shishida asked from beside him, which startled Ren a bit before taking off his shirt for some reason, revealing his admittedly toned and furred body.
"I'm all for running in like madmen, but there are two reasons why it wouldn't be a good idea. First, while my quirk makes me much stronger and has beast-like qualities… it gets me high, so coordination might be hard." He sounded embarrassed as he said that. "Second, we don't know what their quirks do."
"The redhead is named Kirishima and his quirk is Hardening," Ren supplied handily. "It allows him to endure harsh blows by strengthening his body. Akechi has a quirk similar to mine but his should be more restrictive."
"I see… and what does your quirk do?" Shishida asked.
"Persona!" Ren shouts, Suddenly, a swirling vortex of azure flames enveloped him, and from within emerged Arsene! With a snap of his fingers, Joker summoned his iconic mask.
"Woah, I still can't believe this is your quirk," Kendo said astonished by Arsene.
"I-i see…" Shishida muttered as he rubbed his furry brown chin, then looked towards Kendo who got the hint.
"Alright Listen up" her voice carrying a commanding tone that demanded attention. "My Quirk 'Big Fist,' lets me enhance my strength and the size of my fists." She holds her hands up to demonstrate, and a faint glow envelops her fists, making them appear larger "Simple enough?"
"Oh I forgot to ask, what does Monoma-san do? He wore a butler outfit but I don't know how it helps his quirk." Ren was legitimately confused, as he scratched his head.
Shishida blinked and smacked his forehead. "I forgot to tell you, sorry. Monoma's quirk allows him to copy another person's quirk on touch. We shouldn't run into any problems as long as it's me who engages him… Are you okay, Amamyia?"
Copy… another person's quirk? Ren inadvertently swallowed some bile. That… was bad.
If Monoma touched him even once… Would his 'quirk' be copied or not? Did he want his 'quirk' to be copied? It was the same dilemma with Aizawa. Aizawa can somewhat negate persona by using his quirk. His secret could get exposed here and now. The secret that his 'quirk' wasn't actually one.
Shishida noticed his distress and frowned in concern. "Is something wrong, Amamyia?"
Thankfully, a distraction from Kendo distracted Shishida. "AHH! Dammit! That sneaky bastard!"
Shishida looked back at Kendo "What?"
"Monama! He must've copied my quirk earlier! I-i just remembered!" Kendo recalled before the Announcements came through. "Now, let's start the indoor combat training between Team K and Team N!"
Ren sighed and entered the building with Kendo and Shishida trailing behind.
"Dammit …" There wasn't any more time to properly dwell upon it now. The exercise had started so they had to enter the building. However, under no circumstances he can't let Monoma copy his power.
They found a simple corridor, it had open rooms whose doors had yet to be installed, and a stairway leading to the next floor straight ahead.
"Let's go," Ren said with caution. "We should be careful though-"
They didn't even go up one set of stairs before seeing someone rushing out to them. It was Monoma.
"Eat this!" Ren couldn't even hide the surprise etched onto his face before a Harden Fist connected with his face launching him threw several walls, with the original hole becoming blocked off with falling debris.
"Ren!" Kendo shouted, rushing towards Monoma Just as she was about to close in, the ceiling above began to tremble and groan, threatening to collapse. But before she could react, Kirishima dropped down in front of her, blocking her path. Monoma, seizing the opportunity, surged forward from behind Kirishima. His intentions were clear – to land a decisive blow on the stunned Kendo.
Time seemed to slow as Monoma's fist arced toward her, a calculated strike aiming to incapacitate. Just as Monoma's attack was about to connect, Shishida rushed to Kendo's side. His Quirk was unleashed in full fury. His clenched fist, now enlarged to an impressive scale, was ready to deliver a devastating hook to Monoma's side.
Monoma grinned as he quickly raised his hands to block the attack. His skin hardened in response, transforming into an armor-like barrier just in the nick of time. Shishida's blow landed with a tremendous force, and Monoma was sent hurtling to the side, propelled by the sheer impact.
However, he did not tumble across the ground as was intended, instead, he skidded to a halt, the Hardening quirk having aided in his defense.
"He copied Hardening!" Kendo called which caused Shishida to frown.
"No wonder my fist feels like it hit a wall… Gnarly," Shishida muttered with a goofy smile.
Elsewhere….
As the dust settles from the impact of being launched across the building, Ren finds himself amidst the debris, his body surrounded by scattered rocks and wreckage. Coughing as he shook off the disorientation.
Groaning, he slowly pushed himself up, his gloved hands pressing against a piece of rubble that had come to rest on his chest.
With a determined grunt, Ren exerted his strength, shoving the debris aside. As the chunk of rubble clattered to the ground, he rose to his feet, his fingers brushed off dust and dirt from his attire.
"Damn, that hurt!" his hand instinctively moved to his jaw, where he had felt the brunt of the blow. His fingers gingerly massaged the sore area. He casted [Dia] quickly, with the green healing aura covering his body before disappearing.
So Monoma immediately rushed out of the weapon room, does that mean Kirishima and Akechi are guarding the weapon? No, that's ridiculous, from his brief talks with Ejiro, He would never just sit back, he seemed like the brawler type...Mmm…
Ren's thoughts were disturbed — as the battle raged on throughout the building. the very foundations of the building begin to quiver. "They're really going at!"
"Ah, crap! Gotta head to the bomb, I'll deal with Kirishima accordingly if he is also there." Without further hesitation, Ren sprinted forward up the nearby stairwell, his eyes scanning his surroundings before finally arriving at the bomb room.
"Finally" his voice carried a mixture of relief and frustration He pushed open the heavy doors, His eyes quickly scanned the area, his senses on high alert. However, his worries quickly gave way to surprise as he stepped into the room. The room was completely empty. "What the hell? A trap?"
(It's one floor up, I can feel Akechi there…)
Appreciate it…
He quickly ascended to the top floor and pushed open the doors. Finally seeing the fake bomb planted right in the middle of the room. The room was completely unoccupied even though Arsene had just informed him of Akechi's whereabouts.
Hey, you're not pulling my leg on this right…? - As he walked in with his summoned twin pistols, Ebony and Ivory.
(He's Here…)
How about a 50/50 chance I rush the Bomb and end this? Welling to take any bets partner…?
(None taken…)
Dammit…! - Ren immediately broke into a rush towards the bomb, not losing balance as the building shook with his team battling the others below. His progress was abruptly halted by a sudden barrier – a wall of blinding light that shot up, blocking his path and separating him from the bomb. Ren's eyes widened in surprise as he skidded to a halt.
"What the...?" he muttered under his breath.
"You didn't think it would be that easy?" Ren's eyes narrowed as he heard Akechi's voice calling out from behind a pillar that Ren could have sworn he looked over once he entered the room.
His fingers tightened around the grips of his pistols, his aim steady as he swiftly turned to face the pillar from which Akechi came out from behind.
"Not really." Ren shrugged his shoulders, keeping aim at Akechi…."But Let's dance!"
A Storm of Bullets and Magic collide within the room….
