Kakashi waited for Sakura to get out of the hospital. He let her take care of the business she has to do. Him and hospitals do not mix well together so he just waited for her outside.
"So, you found her?" a voice asked Kakashi.
Kakashi just closed his eyes as he tried to reign in his anger. The woman just won't leave him alone.
"Akkari, just leave. We're done, okay?" Kakashi said sharply.
Akkari stepped closer to Kakashi, her expression unyielding. "Are you sure about that, Kakashi? I don't think it's over between us."
Kakashi's patience was wearing thin, and he spoke with a note of finality. "It is over, Akkari. I don't need you ruining the only good thing in my life. I don't even know why I even touched you in the first place. Leave us alone."
Akkari looked at her side and smirked. "We'll see about that. Good bye, Kakashi." she said then left.
Before he can even relax that the insipid woman finally left him alone, he heard another familiar voice.
"I don't know why I hoped that you won't hurt me like that again." Sakura accused Kakashi. She let out a bitter chuckle as her gaze followed Akkari's retreating back. "You know what, I'll just send you the annulment papers." Sakura said to Kakashi before turning her back and walk away from the silver-haired man.
"Sakura!" he called out, he is losing her again. He run to catch her and walked by her side. "Sakura, let me explain." he implored to his wife. "Please."
Sakura's steps slowed as Kakashi caught up with her. She couldn't ignore the pleading tone in his voice, but the pain and anger she felt were still very much present. She stopped and turned to face him, her gaze filled with a mix of emotions.
"Explain, Kakashi," she said, her voice tinged with bitterness. "Explain how you let this happen. Explain why you betrayed my trust again."
Kakashi swallowed hard, trying to find the right words to convey the depth of his regret and remorse. "Sakura, believe me. It's over. She just walked up to me. She's the one who won't leave me alone. I will not get myself involve with Akkari again. I promise you."
"She won't leave you alone?" Sakura asked, bitterness in her voice. "Kakashi, this won't happen if you didn't even involve yourself with her in the first place. If you were only contented on our marriage, and tried to talk and trusted me, this won't happen."
"Sakura, please. Don't go. You're the only good thing in my life. Please."
Kakashi's heart constricted as he watched Sakura's tears slowly made a trail in her face. He promised that day when he married her that he won't be the reason for her pain or tears. But here he is, hurting her.
"Kakashi, you have no idea how much you've hurt me," she whispered, her voice quivering with emotion. "I trusted you, and you broke that trust not once, but twice. It's not just about Akkari; it's about us. About you. You being so bored in life that you are now willingly hurting those who care about you." She jammed her finger in his chest, anger and frustration bubbling inside her. "You know what, I'd rather you jammed that chidori of yours in my heart, at least that way, I'm only going to be hurt once."
Kakashi visibly flinched at her words, Rin's death flashing before his eyes. But instead of Rin, he can clearly see Sakura's face. He closed his eyes to dispel the gruesome picture.
"Sakura." Kakashi tried. Holding her hands he tried again. "Just one last chance. Just this one."
"Why? So that you can hurt me again?"
Sakura's anger and pain were still raw, and she couldn't easily let go of the betrayal that had shattered her trust in Kakashi. She wanted to believe him, wanted to hope that their marriage could be salvaged, but the fear of being hurt once more held her back.
Kakashi's grip on her hands tightened as he gazed into her eyes, his voice filled with sincerity. "No, Sakura. I don't want to hurt you. I want to make things right, to rebuild the trust we once had. I love you, and I'll do whatever it takes to prove that to you."
"Okay." She answered. "But, I am going to have a word with your lover."
"Sakura, she's not my anything." Kakashi said, reassuring her. And, he doesn't want to set an angry Sakura on anyone. "We're over. It's done."
"So you're protecting her?"
"No. I'm protecting you. She's ANBU. A poison specialist. She might do something to you."
"And I am the head of poison department. She can try, but I can assure you, Kakashi, she can't do anything to me unless she wants to be out of Konoha forever."
"Sakura, please. She's not just an ANBU like I was. She's from ROOT, like Sai. Sai may not look much, but ROOT members are much more dangerous than your normal ANBU. Please."
Sskura's eyes bore into Kakashi's, searching for any hint of deception. His words seemed genuine, and she could sense the apprehension in his voice. Her anger and pain hadn't completely dissipated, but she wanted to believe that Kakashi was truly concern for her.
"Fine," she relented, "but she needs to understand that the two of you are over. Done, and never going to be together again. I don't want her interfering in our lives anymore."
Kakashi nodded in agreement. "I'll make sure she understands, Sakura. I want to focus on mending our relationship. You and our marriage mean everything to me."
Sakura's expression softened, her heart aching with a mixture of emotions. "I hope you mean it, Kakashi, because this is your last chance. I want us to work, but I can't bear any more heartbreak."
Kakashi leaned in and gently kissed her forehead. "I understand, Sakura. I won't let you down again."
