As soon as Kakashi closed the door of their house, he stared at his pink-haired wife. "You submitted a petition for annulment?" He asked.
"Did you or did you not cheat on me?" Sakura asked back.
Kakashi just removed his mask as a response to Sakura's question. He didn't realize that he was that close to losing her. Yes, she threatened to annul him, but he didn't know that she actually did file the papers.
He paced around their living room, thinking about those papers. He almost lost everything. He started to run his hands to his hair, pulling the silver locks thinking about it.
"Kakashi." Sakura called out to his pacing husband, by the looks of him, he is hyperventilating. "Kakashi!"
Kakashi's thoughts were interrupted when Sakura's voice finally broke through the haze in his mind. He stopped pacing and faced Sakura. "You're really that set on leaving me?" He asked.
Sakura looked into his lone visible eye. "Yes." she said. "You promised that you will never do that to me. But you did. Since you're the one who threw away what we had, all I need is Tsunade-shishou's signature." She explained. And Kakashi knows that too.
All Sakura needs to do is to put 'infidelity' as a reason for the petition and the signature of the Hokage in that paper, and its all over. He was that close to losing everything.
"But I asked her not to sign it yet." Sakura's voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Why?"
"Well, your precious Takahashi Akkari had the nerve to face me in the hospital." Sakura said. "And I just can't accept that she gets to win, and I lose just because I gave up too easily? Oh no, Kakashi. I am not Tsunade's student for nothing."
"So you asked her not to sign the papers because you just want to prove a point?" Kakashi asked, hurt.
"No." she answered. "I put everything into this relationship. My parents disowned me just because I was in a relationship with my former sensei. I fought for what I have. I fought for this relationship. And I am not going to let some ANBU ROOT woman to ruin my marriage." she explained. "Even if its my own husband who's throwing it all away."
"Sakura, " Kakashi started but he was silenced by Sakura's pointed stare.
"Stop saying you're sorry. You need to prove that, your words are nonsense if you keep on doing it."
Kakashi nodded. Fully aware of the pain he inflicted on her. He stepped forward and pulled her closer to him. "I'll do everything Sakura." He murmured to her. Placing kisses to her hair.
"I'm really sorry." He apologized. "I'm sorry."
Sakura rested her head on Kakashi's chest, and for the first time in a while, she allowed herself to truly feel a glimmer of hope. Kakashi held her tightly, as if never wanting to let her go. The past few days had been hard, but maybe, just maybe, they could work through the pain and betrayal to rebuild their relationship.
Kakashi was aware that he had a long road ahead to regain Sakura's trust, but he was determined to make amends and prove to her that he was committed to their marriage. As they stood there in the dimly lit room, surrounded by the warmth of each other's presence, they both knew that it wouldn't be easy, but they were willing to fight for their love.
