After two years...

"Kakashi, you better be here right now." Sakura murmured under her breath. She really wants to sleep, but her six-month old baby cries whenever she set him down in his crib. She cannot sleep holding the silver-haired boy. And Kakashi is out in a mission. He was supposed to arrive today, but for some reason, he is late.

Then, she heard him crying again. "Shh... Obito, please, don't cry." She said while trying to console the boy. She already checked everything, there are no signs of illness or bites, the boy did not soil his underpants so she's at a lost on what to do.

Her vision started to blur as her tears started to form in her eyes. As the boy wailed again, Sakura started crying as well. She doesn't know what to do anymore. She already checked everything and nothing is amiss, so she doesn't understand what the boy wants.

"Sakura?" Kakashi's bewildered voice cut through her sleepiness. "Hey, why are you crying? Why is Obito crying?" he asked. Taking the baby into his arms. And as if Kakashi had pushed a button, the silver-haired boy had stopped crying.

Sakura tearfully looked at the boy who is currently peacefully sleeping on her husband's arms and then she cried harder. "My own son hates me!" she declared.

Kakashi quietly chuckled, as sat next to her. He circled his available arm in his wife's waist and pulled her closer to him. "He's not." he murmured, pressing his cheek to her head. "He's just crying because you're crying."

"But he's crying even before I did." Sakura informed him.

"Shhh..." Kakashi shushed her. "He doesn't hate you, okay?" he reassured her. "You go to sleep now; I'll take care of him." Kakashi instructed her. "Good night, Sakura." he pressed his lips to her forehead and let her sleep.

When Kakashi saw the steady rise and fall of Sakura's chest, he touched Obito's nose lightly, in a reprimanding but loving way. "Don't make your mother cry again, Obito." He whispered to the boy whose grey eyes are now looking at him. "We will protect her always, okay? Don't make her cry." The baby seemed to understand him as the boy grasped his finger. Kakashi smiled and pressed a tender kiss on the boy's head. "You sleep now, Obito."

As Kakashi watched his son's mouth formed an 'o' as he yawned, he can't believe that he is experiencing the happiness he never thought he will have. He thought he lost his chance when he confessed to her about his wrongdoings, but Sakura's understanding made it possible for him.

He carefully placed the now sleeping child to his crib and lay next to his wife. He brushed the pink locks that hides her face to him. As he gazed at Sakura's sleeping face, he remembered how he almost lost her. He pulled her close and Sakura immediately pressed her face to his side, he smiled, remembering how she fought for them.

He brushed his lips on her head. "I love you, Sakura." he whispered.
