There is a girl named Juliet. Until she was about seven years old, she had a great life. She lived happily with her mother and father in Seattle. It was a perfect life. They had each other with their hopes and dreams. Then one day, a terrible thing happened. It happened when Juliet and her parents were on their way home from a trip to the amusement park.
An accidental turn caused the car to crash into the ditch and killed Juliet's mother and father. This was a nasty experience that can happen to two gentle parents. They're dead and gone in fifteen seconds flat. Now Juliet found herself alone and scared in a scary world.
Juliet survived with a few scratches. After she recovered, things got worse for Juliet before they would get better for her. She was sent away to live with her step uncle. He is her mother's step brother. He's called Uncle Norbert and he's a really horrible person.
He's selfish lazy and cruel and he began to beat up Juliet for almost no reason. He made her wear rags and also made her do all of the work in the house to keep it clean. He even made her sleep in the basement.
He gave her less water to drink and less food. As time went by, Juliet became sadder and more lonely. After Juliet lived with her step uncle for two years, there came a time when she did something that she should've done.
It happened one night when Juliet was all alone in her room. Then she heard to door open and she was told that her uncle is going out and won't be back till morning.
That gave her the opportunity to run away.
