Chapter 15

"That was quite messy, wasn't it?" Olivia gave Fin a look after he explained what they had found out from Marie and Alan Little. They were in her office and the Little's had yet to be let go. Olivia had reluctantly let Elliot take Duarte off her hands and they were seeing if Jet could find Oscar Papa's driver,

"We had to know if they were harboring a fugitive. Besides, Marie is hiding the fact that Alan was adopted from him, makes you wonder what else she is hiding," Fin said.

"Yes, well now I have to explain that there are no charges against Alan and they can go," Olivia pointed out.

"We had to make it look good. If they were hiding our perp, then he would think they didn't come willingly," Fin hadn't done anything against regulations. He'd lied to a possible suspect, which the police are allowed to do. He did it again when he interrupted Bruno speaking to Marie. It was just a little messier than Olivia would have liked it.

"I got something on that name Marie gave me. Cleo Samuels on Lurting Ave in the Bronx. We're going to need Lieutenant Dixon again. Cleo is deaf," Bruno interrupted them without even knocking on the Captain's door.

"All right. I'll put a call into the Lieutenant to see if she can meet you out there after I deal with the Littles," Olivia gave the younger detective a look. He did not whither under her stare.

"Meantime, you call up the ADA who convicted Pup Peters. See if you can't get any movement on getting him out of jail. He didn't commit those rapes in 2013 and he doesn't deserve to pay for it anymore," Olivia told him. Bruno nodded and ducked back out of the room. Fin quickly followed him with Olivia on his heels.

An hour later, Fin, Bruno, and Lieutenant Dixon sat in Cleo Samuels kitchen. She had let them in despite the Lieutenant explaining that they had some concerns about a possible family member of hers. So far, the woman had admitted giving up Alan because her husband forced her to, but she seemed shy on the other details they needed. Of course, it was possible that she didn't know what her son had been up to.

"What kind of issues has she had with Ronnie?" Bruno asked.

"There has always been a lot of anger between us both. We never really got along. I tried my best," Lieutenant Dixon translated Cleo's hand gestures.

"Where is Ronnie?" Fin wanted to know. Cleo gave them a look before indicating that he was out in the garage. Slowly, Fin and Bruno left the table and headed for the door that connected the main house to the garage.

"Ronnie Samuels," Bruno said as he opened the door, pointing his weapon at the man.

"NYPD," Fin announced. He too was pointing his service weapon at the large man. Ronnie jumped up off his bed and said,

"I didn't do anything!" That's when he pointed a revolver at the two policemen.

"Whoa!" Bruno said.

"Drop the gun Ronnie," Fin told him. That's when Cleo came running into the garage and got in between them.

"Don't shoot! Now you're protecting me?!" Ronnie yelled at his mother as she signed what she wanted him to do.

"Ronnie, drop the gun," Fin told him again.

"You told them I was here!" Ronnie wasn't really paying attention to Fin and was still yelling at his mother.

"Ronnie," Fin said. The man looked at him like he wanted to shoot but he lowered the weapon, knowing that Bruno would end him if he tried to hurt Fin. Backup arrived from the local precinct and took Ronnie into custody. Fin let out a breath he hadn't even realized that he was holding in.

Back at the precinct, Olivia received a message from Elliot. He and Duarte had found Oscar Papa's driver, Benny Barros, at his home address. She quickly texted him back saying that she would grab Velasco and the two of them would meet Elliot at the address. With any luck, Benny will give them Oscar Papa, and she and Noah were one step closer to being safe.
