A/N: I want to thank everyone for reading. Regrettably, next week, I will be unable to write. My schedule is just not playing out that way. I hope you enjoy and I'll be posting in two weeks. :)

Chapter 16

U.S. Attorney Avital and Detective Bruno sat in the interrogation room at Bronx SVU with Ronnie Samuels and his lawyer. Fin was watching from the one-way glass outside of the room. Bruno was the one who knew that Pup Peters wasn't guilty and he knew that the bad guy was still out there. He deserved to get Ronnie to talk.

"You're done Ronnie," Bruno told him. Ronnie just gave him a look.

"We can connect you to Renee's murder and three of the rape victims," Avital spoke up.

"There's DNA and all three of the living victims picked you out of a lineup," Bruno said.

"What are you offering?" Ronnie's lawyer wanted to know.

"A chance for Ronnie to tell his side of the story and answer some of our questions," Bruno felt like he wanted to reach across the table and smack Ronnie's face into the table. He knew that would not help them though, and he needed to keep his cool.

"If we like what he has to say, we tell the DA he cooperated," Avital said. Ronnie's lawyer looked at his client and gave him a nod.

"Why deaf girls?" Brunoe wanted to know.

"You met my mother. Why do you think?" Ronnie asked his own question. The look on his face hadn't changed since the garage – he was stone cold.

"I want to hurt her, but I can't," Ronnie continued.

"That's it?" Avital raised an eyebrow.

"You don't listen very well. I just confessed," Ronnie wasn't going to give them anymore. Technically, he didn't have to, but it wasn't as satisfying as Bruno had hoped. He got more into Ronnie's face but all he got out of him was,

"I raped them all." It wasn't like Bruno wanted to hear all the gory details, but he was hoping for more than 'my mother made me do it' – especially since his mother did nothing of the sort. Avital asked him to write it down and sign it. Fin pulled out his phone and called the ADA who had convicted Pup Peters. It was time to get him out of jail.

Meanwhile, Benson and Velasco pulled up next to Elliot and Duarte's vehicle. The two late arrivers get out of their vehicle and climb into Elliot's car. The OCCB detective gave his former partner a look.

"SWAT is about two minutes out from our location. We're far enough away that anyone playing lookout for Benny won't see us until we've turned the corner," Elliot said.

"You think this guy will talk?" Benson wanted to know.

"If he's heard about Bugbear, I'm not seeing an incentive," Duarte frowned.

"His DNA was not found on the rape tree but he ordered the hit on you so we might have some leverage," Elliot tried to reassure her. Velasco remained quiet. He could see where Duarte was coming from, but he could also see where his Captain was coming from.

"SWAT to OCCB portable," the radio came to life.

"OCCB portable here," Elliot responded.

"We're on the street pulling up to your location," the driver radioed.

"Follow us," Elliot told them before firing up the car's engine. The vehicles moved around the corner and pulled down the street. Two young boys shouted out,

"Policia! Policia!" Elliot frowned but they exited their vehicle and let SWAT take the lead. The team moved to the front door of the three-story brick home and forced the door open with a battering ram. A smoke bomb was tossed into the house and SWAT entered with the detectives and Captains right behind them.

"NYPD!" One of the SWAT officers yelled. Benny was in his underwear, eating cereal at the dining room table. He dropped the spoon in his hand and stood up, his arms raised. Benny's mother came out of the kitchen asking questions and berating him. Duarte parried her away and Elliot made sure Benny got some clothes on.

Twenty minutes later, as they exited the building, Duarte was leading Benny out in handcuffs. The BX9 member protested his innocence; aloud for the entire block to hear. After one protestation, he dropped his voice, so just Benson could hear him as they walked side by side. He said,

"You gotta hit me."

"What?" She was confused by his request. She was also unsure if Elliot heard what Benny said. Her former partner was walking behind her and Duarte.

"Hit me. Otherwise, they're going to kill me in prison," Benny said. Duarte started loudly announcing that Benny was under arrest for the attempted murder of a police officer. The back door of the cruiser was opened by Velasco and Duarte was about to put their BX9 member in the back seat when Benson coldcocked him.

"What the hell was that?" Duarte asked her.

"Empathy," Benson smirked. Elliot almost couldn't hold in his glee – not at Benson hitting Benny – but at her throwing a curve ball at the Bronx Gangs Captain. Everyone loaded back up into their vehicles. It was time to see if Benny would talk.
