(Martin's POV)

Boy, the next time I see Daphne crying, I'm just going to ignore it! She had a fit when I told her that I'd made up that story about Gus being my partner and how

he'd been stabbed in a bar fight. I had to say something so that Frasier and Niles would at least try to be civil to each other. They were acting like idiots!

Geez, I don't know why women are so sensitive about things like poor old Gus. For one he doesn't exist and even if he did, Daphne didn't even know him! Hester

wouldn't have gotten so upset. Nah, she was tough! Had to be, I suppose. It's not every day you meet a woman at a murder scene. Gee, I sure do miss those

gingerbread cookies shaped like dead bodies that she used to make every year on our anniversary.

As for Frasier and Niles, they should have known better than to try to write a book together. I knew from the start that it was going to be a disaster, but Niles,

being Niles and Frasier, being Frasier… well, they had to do it to prove something to themselves or to the world. Who the hell knows. They even locked themselves

in a hotel room all night. I'm surprised that they didn't end up killing each other.

That story about Gus almost started to sound real to me. I guess I shouldn't have mentioned that I never had a brother, though. But apparently Niles and Frasier

both forgot about their Uncle Walt. Truth be told, sometimes I'd like to forget about him, too.

Hey, who knew that I, Martin Crane, could write? Frasier and Niles should have asked me to help with the writing. And that song that I composed and sent to Frank

Sinatra was pretty good, wasn't it? Frasier was so great, arranging to have the song played at the funeral. Made the whole thing worthwhile. Too bad Sinatra didn't

buy it. Would have been nice to hear it on the radio.

But at least they learned something from the experience. I sure did. If I tell a sad story like the one about Gus being stabbed in the bar fight, I'm gonna make

damn sure that Daphne's not in the room!

A/N: Martin said that he didn't have a brother in this episode but his brother Walt appears in "Beware Of The Greeks"
