"I didn't think I'd be teaming up with you." Wonder Woman remarked as she looked at her.

"Neither did I..." Vampirella said as she studied the Themysciran, "But this world continues to be full of surprises. And, after hearing stories about amazons, meeting one like you is quite the experience. Hopefully, we don't have to fight after this is over."

Themysciran superhero Wonder Woman, AKA Diana Prince, had been enjoying a refreshing afternoon after taking down an alien robot until she received a message from her mother that her heirloom had been taken. She soon received a tip from an undercover Amazon that the culprit behind the thievery was in the Canari Countryside.

After making the necessary preparations, Wonder Woman set out to the location and found the thief, a black sorcerer-satyr who'd given the people of Themyscira a world of trouble many centuries ago.

Wonder Woman moved to engage him and battled with Tsoku, the sorcerer, until he retreated towards the mountains. However, before he escaped, Diana saw her mother's heirloom in his possession.

As she gave chase, she was ambushed by several bat-like monsters that tried to bite her. The Themysciran princess battled them and was almost overwhelmed. Luckily, Vampirella, who was in the same area, intervened and took out most of the enemies.

Together, they took out the last of the monsters and took their time to rest before they gave chase after Tsoku together. In fact, Vampirella was on her own quest: To retrieve a stolen blood goblet.

When Wonder Woman asked who'd stolen the blood goblet, Vampirella revealed the thief was a satyr-sorcerer, matching the description of who Tsoku was.

And, when dealing with a common enemy, that was when unlikely allies teamed up. Today was when an Amazonian princess teamed up with a lovely vampire from another planet. The fact Vampirella was from another planet didn't faze Diana that much.

"You're not the first alien I've met..." Wonder Woman remarked to Vampirella as they passed a pair of leafless trees, "...but at least your story of how you got to Earth didn't involve your home world being destroyed. You probably know about him."

"Oh..." Vampirella placed a hand on her hip with a thoughtful look, "I sure have heard of Superman. Who hasn't seen an image of that handsome Man of Steel?"

"But you never heard of me until today?"

"Only a few rumors, guess I was too busy doing vampire and human stuff... WATCH OUT!"

At that moment, a demonic red-eyed monster with large talons and red eyes sporting a black cloak swooped down from the top of a large tree with a paralyzing shriek. It dove towards Diana and Vampirella, its talons outstretched and its teeth gnashing.

Wonder Woman acted quickly and sliced off one of its arms, then Vampirella punched the entity in the jaw and bit its eye out.

The monster fell and crumbled the dust, allowing the girls to carry onward. They strolled around the trees and walked over a hill, keeping alert for more monsters. They saw a couple scorch marks on a couple rocks, seeing a creepy bat-like symbol in a scorch mark on one of the rocks.

One look at the mark, and there was no mistaking it; the scorch marks were the work of Tsoku. Wonder Woman had gotten a good look at him, seeing a bat-like mark on his forehead.

He was taunting her.

No, not just her, Vampirella.

Tsoku was trying to mess with the two women to lure them into a trap. Vampirella tugged on the Themysciran's shoulder, telling her about a message etched into the ground with burned leaves. Wonder Woman looked down, seeing the charred leaves gathered in a formation as they made up the four words;

'Come to the village.'

Her eyes settled on an arrow made of orange leaves lying next to the word "village." Then she and Vampirella saw a couple words burned into a tree stump; 'Not far from here.'

Tsoku's message was clear; both women knew it was. Wonder Woman and Vampirella moved forward, ducking under a large tree branch with thorns. They stepped around a rock and carefully climbed over a steep slope, then they saw the signpost next to a burned cottage;

"Welcome to Burn-Stake Village, formerly Venklo-Varon Village."

"Burn-Stake..." Vampirella shivered, "I hope one of us doesn't have to deal with being burned at a stake like witches, not to mention that stakes and vampires don't mix well."

"I can protect you if you want..." Wonder Woman drew her sword.

"A noble offer, princess of Themyscira."

Wonder Woman and her fanged, red dress-clad ally took a brave step forward, moving beyond the signpost and entering the village ahead of them. The sky glowed a bright shade of orange, indicating the last minutes of twilight, casting a red-orange light upon the place that looked akin to a post-apocalyptic village. This place looked desolate, dusty, and abandoned.

They walked past a tall post, which Vampirella glanced at with an uneasy look. Wonder Woman kept her face forward, ignoring any scary signs that may have been nearby. Their enemy was hiding here, and he had the artifacts they wanted; they were not leaving empty-handed.

All around the two women, houses with cracked windows, broken roofs, and run-down walls were everywhere. Nobody had lived here in ages, assuming people had lived here long ago.

It was a wonder that this place became a hideout for a sinister satyr sorcerer. And speaking of him...

Diana and Vampirella heard a whooshing noise and turned, spotting Tsoku as he appeared out of thin air behind them. The vile maniac held up Hippolyta's heirloom, along with a blood-red chalice, all in a taunting manner that said, 'I know what you're here for. You want it? Come and get it.'

Ready for battle, Wonder Woman glanced at Vampirella, and she nodded; Vampirella nodded back. The girls charged at Tsoku, who drew his staff and cast a beam of black light at them. The combat-ready women ducked and rolled to avoid the attack.

Wonder Woman raised her sword and swung the blade at her target, only for Tsoku to block with a misty magic shield barrier.

Vampirella pounced on him and punched Tsoku in the face, distracting him and causing his barrier to melt. Wonder Woman moved in and clicked her wrist gauntlets together, knocking over the sorcerer with a shockwave blast. Tsoku got back up just as both Wonder Woman and Vampirella advanced on him, all eager to bring him down.

Tsoku hovered into the air and rammed Wonder Woman into a wooden post, trying to strangle her, but the Themysciran princess kicked him in the gut just hard enough for his grip to slacken.

As Tsoku recovered from the kick, Wonder Woman hit him with the Lasso of Truth and tied it around his waist, taking the sorcerer off guard. Vampirella moved closer, her fangs exposed, and attempted to bite the magic satyr. However, Tsoku had many tricks up his sleeve, and the girls underestimated him.

He swept his hand almost casually, and an unknown force picked up Vampirella, then threw her into a wall. She collapsed to the ground and rubbed her arm, feeling dazed from the blow. Wonder Woman stepped up and hit Tsoku hard, punching him with a hard hook across the cheek, and then she sliced off his hand with the swing of her sword.

It was beatdown time. Diana kicked Tsoku, striking him in the leg, and whipped him with her Lasso of Truth. Her sword came up, and she slashed at his torso, taking a chunk of his cloak off; then she grabbed him and threw him into a broken window, causing half of the house to collapse.

Wonder Woman wrapped her Lasso of Truth around Tsoku, and flicked him into a house wall near Vampirella right as she was getting back up. Vampirella grabbed Tsoku, slashed him in the face with her clawed hand, and kneed him in the shin. And then, she exposed her fangs menacingly and bit him in the neck.

Tsoku, the ancient satyr sorcerer, lost consciousness and fell over as Vampirella retreated. She stood over the defeated foe, a hand on her hip, as Wonder Woman joined her.

But despite their victory, there was one matter to take care of. Wonder Woman grabbed her mother's heirloom from Tsoku's inventory and checked to see if it was damaged, then Vampirella searched the defeated satyr sorcerer and pulled out the Blood Goblet.

"Looks like it was no problem." Wonder Woman said positively.

"We both got what we came here for." Vampirella nodded, "And he paid the price."

Diana moved towards the limp satyr and drove her blade through his heart. Seconds later, Tsoku disintegrated, leaving nothing but dust behind. The heroic Themysciran placed the heirloom in her pouch, and Vampirella put the Blood Goblet in her scarlet purse.

"Thanks for helping me get the goblet, Wonder Woman." The vampire said to the Amazon.

"You were helpful in my mission as well." Wonder Woman extended a hand to Vampirella.

Vampirella shook her hand and hugged Diana. "We can have some wine and chat about your friends, if you're interested." She suggested with a smile.

Wonder Woman nodded to Vampirella, and then they took to the sky, flying away from the ruined village with the heirloom and goblet in their possessions, respectively, as the sky turned black and the stars came out.

Wonder Woman nodded at her new friend, and then she flew away to return the heirloom to her mother. After that, she and the vampire would sit down for a drink.

Hopefully, blood didn't have to be involved, given that vampires were known to drink that and Vampirella was likely no exception. Amazons and vampires teaming up to retrieve two treasures, now that was quite the story to be told...
