A/N-Okay, so this is a follow up series to that of the fates wish. For those who read it, welcome! I couldn't resist not posting it so yeah-
:P
For those who haven't read it, also welcome and here's all you need to know to go ahead with this series.
1) The demigods were called to Olympus to read PJO and HOO with the gods and come closer to them and start acting like a proper family and make the gods realize the hardships of being a demigod.
2) It did work in making the demigods and gods come closer and start caring about each other.
3) The demigods were turned into gods only to have their powers taken away from them as the new prophecy came into play in the middle. This series takes place after the reading of the books. The fates chose certain demigods to interact with the avengers as well.
4) The demigods are immortal but they were given the choice to fade away by the fates in the case of brutality or anything as unfortunate as that but it was something that is upto them.
5) They were further told to prepare and learn some languages and specialize in certain fields such as science and all as they were to interact with the avengers to fight Kronos(who is back in this prophecy).
6) The Avengers are also legacies well except Thor of course. One or two of them are related to the demigods in a different way as well which will be elaborated.
7)And now the timeline. The battle of new york that the avengers had was them defending NYC during the war the demigods had against the giants so they are being sent to a few days right after the battle against Loki and the chitauri. However, the fates have made it so that the Trials of Apollo timeline does not intervene with anything.
Yeah, I think this is pretty much it. If I've missed something, I'll add it in the notes of that particular chapter. So lets start this ride. Hope y'all enjoy it!
It was barely morning and though the sun god was awake the sun wasn't. The rest of the gods and demigods were practically buzzing with anxiety. The reading had got over two nights before and though they'd celebrated, their skin had been crawling with the anxiety of the new prophecy taking place any time now.
The heroes of the first war
With the mightiest heroes of far
Shall fight the defeated past
He who shall rise stronger than the last
Yep, this was their new nightmare. The fates had chosen certain heroes to go and get introduced to the avengers. These heroes were namely Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Nico di Angelo, Thalia, Jason, Will Solace, Lee Fletcher, Travis and Connor Stoll.
"You all should pay a visit to your families or to camp or anybody else you want to visit in the mortal world. You most probably won't be able to see them for a while once you're with the avengers." Apollo told the demigods who were the main heroes for this prophecy. They were in the training area but on a break. Since the reading got over, those guys had been there for hours on the end. They might as well have lived there.
"Yeah, me and a couple of others were planning to go to mom's place. I want to say goodbye to mom, Paul and Estelle." Percy sighed.
"Seaweed Brain! Stop making it sound as if we're never coming back." Annabeth chided.
"You never know." Nico said darkly.
"Shut up, Di Angelo." Thalia hit him upside the head and the son of Hades sighed.
Apollo winced at the demigod's words but even he knew they were true. Though the fates had informed them that they only way these demigods would die would be if they chose to fade away seeing as they had been turned into gods but had had only their powers taken away and not their immortality for the prophecy. But that choice was given to them if they were in a situation where they were being tortured or they were horribly hurt or something as unfortunate as that. And knowing that they were going to be put in such situations was bad enough.
"Anyways, you guys should get going. The prophecy is most likely going to be starting today or tomorrow. Max to max, it starts day after tomorrow." Apollo said with a frown towards the end. The demigods nodded and followed Apollo to the main hall where all the others were sitting as well. The scene looked so normal that it was hard to believe that it was all about to change soon.
"Hey." Poseidon greeted as Percy, Nico, Thalia and Jason walked up to the big three table. Demeter and Katie had also joined them this time around. Demeter, being the eldest knew that her three little brothers needed her then even if they didn't show it.
"We're planning on visiting Aunt S." Thalia informed. Everybody nodded.
"As you should." Demeter said.
"I'm just glad to hear you say those words without them being linked to cereal for once." Nico snorted in amusement.
"Oh shut up." Demeter huffed. Hades winked at his son with a proud look on his face.
"And you! You're glowing as if you're pregnant." Demeter chided Hades, making water come out of Percy's nose and making Nico choke on his fries.
"I love you." Nico said to Demeter in admiration. Hades looked at Nico with the straightest face.
"Traitor." He said. Nico laughed.
"Oh well." He shrugged.
The demigods got up once they were done with their refreshments.
"We should get going." Percy sighed. The others nodded in agreement.
"See you guys." Nico waved to all of them before he shadow traveled everybody to Sally's apartment. They knocked on the door and Percy swallowed thickly as he realized that this was the last time that he was going to be ringing this bell and seeing his mother, sister and Paul for quite a while.
"Oh hey guys!" Paul exclaimed as he opened the door and let the demigods in.
"Percy!" Sally smiled as she saw him and proceeded to give the others hugs as well. Honestly, Sally Jackson gave the best hugs. Percy loved bullying his dad about how he got so lucky. And of course, Sally being Sally took one look at the demigods and knew that something was up but didn't show it on her face.
"You all got lucky. She just made her 7-layer dip." Paul chuckled. The demigods whooped at that piece of knowledge which only woke up Estelle as the little girl ran towards her brother and Percy picked her up in his arms and grinned.
"Brother, I missed you!" she said excitedly.
"I missed you to." Percy said as the brother-sister rubbed their noses. Once Percy put her down, she proceeded to go and sit next to Nico and Thalia as her other brother and sister slung their arms around her with a grin.
"So what brings you all here?" Paul asked as he sat down in front of them comfortably.
"Uh nothing much actually. Just wanted to see you guys." Percy smiled. Paul didn't seem satisfied with the answer. He'd come to know his step-son just enough to know when Percy was here because of something demigod related.
"Demigod business, isn't it?" Paul asked with a raised eyebrow. Percy sighed and Annabeth nodded.
"I'll let you guys talk, all right? I'll see y'all later." Paul smiled as he got up.
"No, uh, you should know this as well." Annabeth told him and Paul frowned as he sat down. Well, this was some pretty major stuff apparently.
"Hey, Es, you should get some rest, okay? We'll come to you before we go." Nico told Estelle softly.
"Could you tuck me in?" Estelle asked Annabeth and the daughter of wisdom was happy to oblige. Everybody waited in silence as Annabeth tucked Estelle in, closed her door and came back with a small smile on her face.
"What's wrong?" Sally asked softly
"New prophecy." Thalia said. Sally took in a breath and Paul shook his head. These kids had already been through so much and they weren't even 20 yet.
"We're facing Kronos again but this time we have new allies…some people called 'the avengers' apparently. We're going to be meeting them soon. We most probably won't get to see you guys for a while…" Percy explained the whole thing as he spoke without stopping to take a breath. Once he was done, Paul looked like he needed an aspirin and Sally was trying to keep tears out of her eyes for the sake of these kids. Her kids.
"We'll be all right." Nico assured her. It was funny how just a while back he'd talked about the exact opposite.
"You guys better be. Or I'm going to march to Olympus, go the underworld with Hades and bring you back to life only to send you back." Sally scolded them, making everybody chuckle lightly.
"No but I don't understand. Didn't you already fight Kronos?" Paul asked as he looked at Percy.
"He apparently hadn't had enough." Percy sighed.
"You guys will make it." Paul told the demigods with determination. They smiled at him warmly.
"Thanks, man." Thalia told him.
They all talked as if this was the last time they would and somewhere they were afraid that maybe it was. It was evening before they realized that they should be getting back to Olympus even if they just wanted to stay here. Of course, they could but they knew that it would be better to go back, prepare and talk to Apollo about the prophecy and of course, spend time with the rest of their family as well.
The goodbye hugs were especially painful as everybody tried to hide their tears from each other as they hugged Sally and Paul.
"This isn't goodbye. It's a see you later." Sally told the demigods, wiping her eyes.
"Definitely." Percy told her.
Saying goodbye to Estelle was something that proved hard for all of them. They went to her and surrounded her bed as they watched her sleep peacefully with smiles on their faces. She wasn't just Percy's little sister. She was all of theirs as well. She was the one person that all of them wanted to give a normal life to. A normal childhood unlike theirs.
Percy lightly shook her awake and told her that they had to leave now. She looked up at all of them with a wide smile.
"I wuv you all." She said, still learning to say 'love' but they all preferred it this way because they found it adorable and it served as a reminder that she was still a kid. The demigods grinned at her and tried to keep their tears back just for her sake.
"We wuv you too." They all chorused and took turns in kissing her forehead. They decided to stay for a couple more minutes only to read Estelle a bedtime story so she could go back to sleep. Paul and Sally stood at the door as they watched the demigods and they knew one thing. No matter what happened, Estelle would always have the memory of her brothers and sisters reading her a story to bed and reassuring her that everything was going to be all right and that they'd see her soon again. She would remember them being adults without knowing that they were still supposed to be kids. She'd remember them no matter what.
