NOTE:
Hiro Mashima own Fairy Tail.
Yūsei Matsui owns Assassination Classroom.
It had all happened so fast.
One moment, Fairy Tail members were all in a flying cube getting stuck in Mard Geer's curse, Alegria. The next moment they knew, they were free of the spell. No one knew who freed them from the attack, as the sole mage kept quiet about it. Sadly, they all quickly forget about it due to the war. Thankfully, Fairy Tail and few other mages overpowered Tartaros, a dangerous dark guild involving demons, known as Nine Demon Gates.
That war was a week ago. It was a war which left all mages with different kinds of scars on their own. These demons gave the Fairy Tail mages profound wounds that they will forever bury in their minds and hearts.
None of them realized until the battle ended, that the part of Magnolia and the once pride Fairy Tail guild was left with nothing but piles of ruins. That's not all. Other cities across the continent were similarly ravaged by Faces, almost activated by Tartaros, which would cause terror and chaos around the world. Fortunately, it was immediately destroyed. The citizens of Magnolia and other towns were immediately evacuated safely, avoiding the risks of hurting them.
Lucy Heartfilia sighed, mindlessly walking in the sandy ruined path toward the massive crater that once Fairy Tail guild stood proudly. Glancing around, she noticed all, other than one fiery member, of Fairy Tail members gathered. A little confused but remained staring at the crater. The blonde woman firmly tightens her slightly chapped lips as she can tell that everyone was having a hard time facing the completely destroyed guild.
Lucy blinked her slightly dull eyes as she remembered the master called them there for announcement. Gulping, she slowly remembers what happened a few days back, the sacrifice of her first friend, her second mother-figure, to save her guildmates. The blonde mage could feel the tears threatening to flow but furiously blinked her eyes to stop them from flowing down her cheeks. She had no plan to share the scar she had received from this war with anyone.
"I am sorry. I am beyond ashamed." Elfman Strauss apologized in shame, closing his eyes. Lisanna Strauss hugged her older brother's bicep, comforting him. "It's not your fault, Elf nii-chan! You were controlled! No one was mad at you for destroying the guild." Lisanna reassured, patting his big right arm.
"Lu-chan!" Lucy looked over and saw her bookworm best friend with certain iron dragon slayer at her side. She slightly smiled and jogged towards her. "Hello, Levy-chan." Lucy greeted back as the bookworm hugged her tightly, confusing the blonde woman.
"What's with the hug Levy-chan?" Lucy asked, laughing dryly. Levy Mcgarden broke the hug and smiled at her best friend cheekily. "Nothing much! I thought you might need it! Well, I know we need it!" Levy answered honestly. Lucy blinked her eyes before smiling at her.
"Mhmm… I know…" Lucy mumbled; Levy looked at the blonde, tilting her head. The iron dragon slayer patted their heads.
"Don't think about it too much," Gajeel roughly spoke, as if the war was nothing but Lucy knew. She could tell, as his kin, that he was hurting as well. She could feel it through the bond mark. Everyone may not show it, but Lucy knew each member of the guild was heartbroken from the war.
As the guild members started to murmur each other, waiting for the master, Lucy stared into nothingness and felt empty. This upsets two of her kins, anxiously glancing over her place as they felt her locking of her emotions. It felt eerie as their dragon souls growled at their kin's emotional condition. The young sky dragon slayer slowly approached the blonde woman, trying to use her aura to show her support while the male dragon slayer set down his hand over her head to cheer her up a bit. The solid script mage noticed the sudden exchange of the dragon slayers towards her best friend and smiled warmly at their thoughtfulness. They all silently waited for their master, and soon enough, Master Makarov arrived and used his Titan magic to enlarge himself.
Master just stared at each of his children and sighed deeply. "I guess an age has to come to an end." He mumbled to himself. "Master, are we not going to rebuild the guild?" Mirajane Strauss asked, tilting her head, silvery-white hair flowing down her side.
"What the hell is this all about, old man?" Laxus Dreyar asked his grandfather. Raijinshū members stood beside him, making sure he wouldn't collapse. For a time, the guild master was quiet, silencing the murmuring crowd as he took a breath.
"So much has happened now. I am proud that we were able to defeat Tartaros, and I am proud that we were able to protect those who could not." He started, "However, too much for you to remain tied to any one place as we have seen many horrors. It is now your time to spread your wings and find your ways." Everyone just exchanged looks, having no idea what he was talking about.
"Is there a point to this, Master?" Erza Scarlet questioned silently, crossing her arms.
There was a period of silence as if Master Makarov had to reach down and pull the words out agreeably. "As of now, it's time for me to dissolve Fairy Tail. Officially."
Nobody said anything, as they all just gawked at the master, as the words loomed over them. It seemed like it would be a joke, but everyone knew that Master Makarov would never, ever joke about such a thing. The silence seemed to last for an eternity until quite impossibly the most unexpected person spoke up.
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, OLD MAN?!" Laxus roared, leaping up to where the master was but held by his teammates, "You cannot disband the guild!" Gajeel agreed with his fellow dragon slayer, glaring at their guild master. As if a trigger, everyone gasped, tears forming between their eyes. Slowly realizing that master is serious at what he just announced to them.
"I just did." Makarov said plainly, "It is my right as the last guild master of Fairy Tail."
"Wha- HOW COULD YOU!" Gray Fullbuster shouted this time, clenching his fists.
"What is the meaning of this, Master?! You cannot do this!" Erza screamed at their guild master, clenching her fist in anger. Some members glared at their petite yet strong master, some tried to wipe their tears, some was too shocked to move.
"And where the fuck is that fucking Flame idiot?! He should be objecting here too!" Gray shouted, walking towards the petite wizard saint only to be pulled back by the water mage, Juvia Lockser.
"I'm not sure," Makarov answered monotonously, " Where he is, but I have no doubt you will find your way." Before anyone could say anything, he turned his back as he walked away.
"Master! Don't walk away from us!" Mirajane cried at him, "You can't...!"
"DO AS YOU ARE TOLD!" Makarov bellowed, "My decision is final!" That silenced the cries of the members, even the stubborn male dragon slayers. They just watched as Makarov continued walking away, leaving them alone.
Eventually, everyone slowly dispersed to figure out what they would do, accepting the final wish of their—now former guild master. Erza left without a word, Cana smacked her hand to her face before walking away from the crater, and Gray left with Juvia in his tow. No one seemed to notice the celestial mage was longing for their goodbyes. Lucy simply stood in her place, watching her guild—her former guildmates leaving without goodbyes. She felt her heart was breaking more even if she locked her emotions as she clenched her right hand, underneath was a crumpled paper.
"Lu-chan..." A soft voice echoed to her right. It was her petite best friend. The blonde did not move at her calling as she felt numb.
"Lucy-nee..." Another voice echoed, but it came to her left. It was her adopted little sister. Of course, the blonde didn't flinch at their calling. They kept calling for her, realizing the blonde was slowly in a trance of darkness and numbness until they started crying. She jerked back to reality, hearing the cries of her beloved friends, blinking and caressing their faces.
"What are we gonna do...?" Levy asked while hiccupping, tears streaming down her face. Lucy smiled softly, wiping her best friend's tears. Lucy felt a small figure hug her torso, and she didn't even need to look down, knowing it was her little sister.
"You can go with Gajeel, Levy-chan." The blonde celestial mage suggested. The long black-haired man widened his eyes from her suggestion. "Knowing you, you want to follow him. He is waiting for you. Now, go on, Levy-chan." Levy kept crying, hugging her best friend, not wanting to let her go. Lucy gave her a pained smile, patting her shoulder.
"No way! I'm not going to allow it, Bunny girl! You will join us! You and tiny!" The dragon slayer growled at her decision; his dragon soul was outraged by choice of his kin and the choice of locking all of her emotions. The blonde woman shook her head, not wanting to burden her kin more than it was.
"Please, Gaj, stay with Levy-chan." The blonde mage stared at his intense crimson eyes full of pain, smiling softly. "I know I am your kin, Gaj, but you both need each other more than you let on." The celestial mage whispered, reaching over to hold his large hand, clenching it tightly. The iron dragon slayer scowled, "No way, Bunny girl!"
"Please… Gajeel." She softly whispered, clenching her jaw in desperation. The tall dragon slayer goes rigid after hearing the tone of his kin before hesitantly accepting her request. Though his dragon soul kept gruffly roaring at his decision, it knew kin is equally important as the short bookworm. Knowing Levy matters the most because she is his mate.
"Go Levy-chan, don't forget me aye?" Lucy slightly laughed while the short blue-haired woman nodded her head furiously, still crying. Lucy was a bit unhappy at her kin's decision, but she knew it was for the best. Levy is having a hard time right now, and so is Gajeel. Only both of them can help each other.
Lucy looked back, "Take care of her for me, understood Gaj?" Lucy requested the iron dragon slayer, her older brother. The dragon slayer grunted his answer; he doesn't need to be reminded. He'd plan to do it anyway. The blonde mage hid a smile; she knew the tall dragon slayer would care for her best friend.
Gajeel patted her head, "I don't like how you don't want to join us but no need to remind me, Bunny girl. Just make sure to take care of yourself, and call me once a month." He patted the young dragon slayer's head, "Take care as well, tiny." The young dragon slayer nodded at the older dragon slayer, still hugging the blonde celestial mage. They watched the large man carrying the now whimpering yet tired bookworm, glancing back, waving his free hand in farewell.
"Carla, take care." Panther Lily told the white exceed as she nodded her answer. "Lucy-san, Wendy-san. Please take care as well." Panther Lily added, the black exceed received a tight hug from the celestial mage, his eyes widening from her whisper, nodding and flew to Gajeel's side. They began to walk away from them.
"Lucy-nee... What are we going to do?" The sky dragon slayer asked her older sister figure. The blonde-haired woman patted her short bob blue hair, exhaling some air.
"I do know you have a plan. What it is?" Lucy ignores the question, and the young teen doesn't seem to realize it. The young girl wiped her tears, looking up, not breaking the hug.
The young bluenette gulping, getting her courage, "I-I plan to train. After what happened, I want to be stronger, to have more use in the future. I decided I won't whine and cry childishly anymore." Wendy answered with teary yet determined eyes.
"Oh, my sweet little sister. You are already strong. Why do you have to doubt at your strength?" Lucy whispered, softly caressing her sister's cheek. The young dragon slayer leaned more at her older sister's touch.
"Still, I believe you could achieve your goal and don't ever doubt yourself. Train well, alright?" The sky dragon slayer nodded as her response. Smiling softly, the celestial mage gave the young dragon slayer a forehead kiss.
"I don't want to burst your bubble, but I won't join in your training." Lucy added, and the young teen was surprised since she wasn't expecting it.
"B-But I want you to join me in my training, Lucy-nee!" Wendy protested as her dragon soul roared in disbelief as to why her kin would want to leave her alone. Lucy shook her head.
"I can't do that, Wendy. This is your personal training. Did you not intend to live and train with Carla? She will be with you to support you in every step of your training, remember?" Lucy hugged the small yet strong sky dragon slayer.
"You're not alone, my cute little sister because Carla is with you." The celestial mage whispered, "Please, don't be sad. I know you wanted to stay with me since you took me as your kin and an older sister. Also, you're a very protective dragon sister. But, think about it, little Wen. The horrors we experienced by the war, taught not only you but all of us about the importance of life and death and how it affected us physically, mentally, and emotionally. As Mas-former Master Makarov mentioned, we have to gradually move on our own even if it might take time to heal, but rest assured, it will be worth it." Lucy encouraged the young dragon slayer. Wendy whimpered as she hugged back, not wanting to let go. Carla joined in the hug. The three of them continued hugging each other, memorizing their warmth.
Lucy broke the hug, "Now, train harder. Become stronger. Make me proud, alright? It's your choice if you wish to join a different guild. It is your decision." Lucy told her, the young teen nodded, looking at her confidently.
"I will, Lucy-nee! I will make you proud! I will be stronger! I will make sure to call you in the communication ball you gave me, Lucy-nee!" Wendy exclaimed with determination; Carla grunted but agreed with her.
Lucy smiled, "Now, take care of my little sister for me, Carla-chan." Carla grunted in fake disdain, crossing her arms. "You don't have to remind me! I know that! But… please take care of yourself too... Lucy-nee." Carla whispered, slightly embarrassed of her being worried at the older woman. The white exceed did not want to admit it, but she grew closer with the blonde mage and saw her as a sister as Wendy does. The adopted sisters laughed at the cat's embarrassment before the two girls waved at the blonde and left the place to start their journey.
As soon as the blonde felt that no one from Fairy Tail was around the place. Lucy broke down, she fell on her knees. She let out a loud shriek, crying in anguish. Finally letting her soul bewail in forlornness and desperately calls her kins through the link. The iron and wind dragon slayers flinched at her distressed calling. Their dragon souls wanted to go back to their kin but respected her wish and, therefore, gave her reassurance of affection through the bond. However, her calling through the link with the fire dragon slayer was ignored by him. It made the bonded soul with the fire dragon slayer withered in agony, wanting to comfort its kin. The fire dragon slayer neglected his kin's agony, and ultimately, their bond broke with a loud snap. The reddish-orange star kin mark amongst the silvery-black and whitish-blue kin marks at her right wrist was shattered, showing that the bonded dragon slayer turned their back to their kin.
She unconsciously opened her right hand, letting go of the crumpled paper on the ground.
'I'm going off on a journey to train with Happy. I'll be back after a year. Please take care of the Fairy Tail, Luce! - Natsu and Happy'
Lucy began to blame herself for being such a weak and problematic person. Was it her fault she was abandoned by her friends? Did they leave because of her huge embarrassing fights at Grand Magic Games? Just how useless and pathetic could she be that they kept rescuing her in every mission they had taken? She is such a failure of a mage. She broke the trusts of her celestial spirits, by breaking the celestial law of breaking a golden zodiac key. She killed her second mother-figure. She killed the beloved girl of her spirit, Scorpio, The Scorpion. She doesn't deserve her keys, at all! The celestial mage brought her hands to her face as she began to grieve in agony, crying out all of the emotions she hadn't released since that incident happened.
Leo, The Lion, and the leader of Zodiac Celestial Spirits managed to open his gate after his blonde mistress had been preventing them, her spirits, from going out their gates after the incident. Leo or Loke crouched down to his mistress's curled body on the ground with the crumpled paper at her side. He glared at the paper in anger before caressing her damp cheeks due to her tears.
Lucy slowly cracked her eyes filled with pain, "L-Loke… I… killed her…. I killed… her… I-I'm… so sorry…. I'm sorry for breaking her key! I'm so sorry…. I'm sorry…." She continued whispering her apologies, hugging herself tightly. "Am I worthless, Loke? I really am, worthless, isn't it? If so… then the rumors are probably a hundred percent true! That I'm such a burden person! A weakling who can't even defeat her opponents! A spoiled brat! I'm a failure of a mage! I broke her key! And killed her! I don't deserve you guys!" She screamed in distress, pulling her hair in anguish. Loke froze at the continuous words spilling from his strong-willed mistress. "Please kill me…. Please kill me…. Please kill me…" She continues to utter, the lion spirit felt cold after hearing her mutterings.
"That's not true, princess! You're not worthless! You're not a failure of mage, princess. You're the most strong-hearted person I ever met, Princess! She's not dead, princess! Aquarius is resting well. She is not dead. So, please stop blaming yourself, Lucy! It's not your fault! Do you understand me?! It's not your fault! So, don't blame yourself, Lucy! You deserve us, and we deserve you more too!"
Loke felt his heart crack after seeing her crying face. He doesn't know what to do. " She's mad… right? I... broke her only key… her hope to go outside… yet I broke it. I did it to rescue them… Only to be left alone… It's… too… much… So.. please kill me now.." She cried out, clenching the broken key, the sharp edges scratching her skin and drawing out blood from the wound. "She's not angry at you, Lucy! She demanded you to break it to save your comrades! It's not your fault, alright? You had to do it to rescue them. No one is mad at you. So, please don't blame yourself anymore. Don't ever ask us to kill you because you don't deserve it! We will always love you, our princess." Loke softly composed his master while hugging her close to his chest. The celestial mage curled to his chest, wanting to hide from the world.
Loke carried her effortlessly and began to walk to her apartment. He continued whispering soothing words to her while trying to control his rage running through his veins. The zodiac leader could tell her other spirits felt the same as him. He remembered seeing Aquarius wearing an expression of grief. A rarely expression she reveals but only caused by their own mistress, Lucy Heartfilia. The blue mermaid spirit's eyes were red from crying too much, while watching their master sealing her emotions before he successfully opened the gate.
After finishing catching up with the Strauss siblings before guiding them to the train station, the lightning blonde dragon slayer tried to find the celestial made, but he couldn't find where her scent led him. He watched most of his former guild members depart without any goodbye, while few gave their goodbyes. He scowled when he couldn't find the strand of her hair at all. He decided to run to her apartment, his heart hammering in panic. A nagging feeling kept creeping into his mind as he sprinted faster. He was aware his team was following him but solely followed the path of her street towards the apartment.
Not wasting any second, he hurried up the stairs and entered the apartment. He was greeted by the lion spirit, which had been waiting for them at her couch. The blonde mage sleeping silently at the lion spirit's lap, tear-stained are found at her cheeks. The zodiac spirit brought his finger at his lips, quietly ushered him inside. He froze at the door when a pink-haired maid, definitely a celestial spirit, appeared in front of him, carries their mistress in her arms—one arm under her legs and the other supporting her back, and instantly vanished in front of him. He walked in the apartment, going straight to the lion spirit, and harshly clutched his collar after smelling fresh salty scent of tears scattered around the apartment, strong at her bedroom.
"Where is she?! Where did you bring her?! What the fuck happened to her?!" Laxus growled at the golden zodiac spirit. Loke doesn't answer but is wearing a furious look on his face. Bickslow and Freed ran inside and immediately pulled away their leader's arms.
"Bossman, relax! We won't know what happened if you keep grabbing him!" Bickslow tried to remove his hands which the tall blonde ma compliantly followed and patted the spirit's shoulder as an apology. "Now, tell us." The blonde man roughly demanded.
"Princess will not be here... for certain circumstances." The zodiac spirit started; The fairy mage went inside and heard the statement and went motionless at her place while the blonde man narrowed his eyes on his place. "What do you mean circumstances?"
"It's not my right to tell the whole story, but… I'll tell you a summary. She was abandoned..." Everyone in the room stared at him in puzzlement, "… by her family." They were astonished at his revelation.
Evergreen covered her mouth, "W-What… do you mean?" She asked, and her heart sank after hearing his reply. "You do know well! Our princess…. was abandoned by her friends-her family!" They saw anger and pain at his face, their hearts crushing in disbelief.
"Her teammates-family left without saying a word while one simply left a note! The very note expressing to take care of Fairy Tail, but what occurred a while ago? The very guild disbanded!" The zodiac leader closed his eyes, trying to alleviate his temper.
"What is not right was she started questioning her worth. She started thinking she was abandoned because she was not strong enough since she was always treated as a damsel in distress! She thought that things would be better if she was dead. She's asking me to kill her! No one, I mean, no one in the guild even gave their goodbyes to her! At least, you had the heart to look for her while her bookworm best friend, and two of her kins stayed with her for half an hour along with their exceeds." Laxus stiffened up in his place, Bicsklow and Freed looked horrified, and Evergreen choked up as she began sobbing out her tears.
"T-That's not true at all! We all know how strong Lucy is!" The brunette woman sobbed, clenching her fists. Bickslow cursed out loud while Freed looked troubled after learning the truth.
Laxus took deep breathes to calm his rage and the wrath of his dragon soul. He planned to form a kinship with the blonde woman after the war with Tartaros but failed to do so. He always has a soft spot for the blonde woman because of her calm and forgiving nature. She will always be his sister, and the fact his dragon soul adored her makes her special. She was the reason why the guild opened up to him and his team. He and his team respect and admire her, even treating her as part of Raijinshū.
"Therefore, we decided to bring her somewhere safe where we can watch her closely. Don't worry. She will be safer with us than staying here." Loki ended his explanation, displeased at the apartment where most of her memories of that team existed.
"Until then, please wait for her. She will be back. This bead will turn bright gold, signaling that she is near with you." Giving the small black bead to the dragon slayer before bowing his head, he went back to his world.
Laxus with Raijinshū was left alone at the apartment, their emotions spiraling after learning some truth. Lucy became part of their life and was mad at the universe for what happened to her. Searching the apartment for the last time only to see most of her things are not there anymore. They left the building with a heavy heart, unhappy with the result. They, too, like other members, left Magnolia without looking back.
Leaving all of their memories from the—now disbanded guild of once proud Fairy Tail of Magnolia.
