Jon had mixed feelings about going to the farm. On one side, it was the place where his life got turned upside down, otherwise it was the place where Martha and Jonathan Kent Sr. live. And even if they are different here, like absolutely everything on this Earth, Jonathan knew that every place where these two humans were, is a better place.

Jonathan agreed immediately to get taken to Martha and Jonathan. On his Earth, Martha was always the only person of Smallville that was good. And Jonathan Sr., whom he only knew from stories and photos, he always wanted to meet. He would never forgive himself, if he would reject this opportunity.

Clark speeded through the apartment to destroy every evidence that Jonathan was ever here, just in case these men come back. Then he cleaned all surfaces and items Jonathan touched to remove these 'particles' those men were talking about and changed his clothes to get rid of the leftovers on them.

Suddenly someone opened the door…

"Clark?" Jimmy said.

"Oh, it's you!" Clark said relieved. "I get Jonathan to my parents. Those men were here!"

"Clark, Jimmy…" Lois said when she came in, too. "Jonathan? Good that you are here! I want to ask you something…"

Lois showed him what she figured out about the people he told them about.

"Morgan Edge can't be Clark's brother… or half-brother, I think you said. If he is from Clark's planet, he would not be in prison to serve his 15 years for tax-fraud. He would just fly out. Ally Allston died five years ago after drinking from a tea that was spiked with a hallucinogens drug. The cult she was leading was closed and all members put into treatment. And Bruno Mannheim is in prison, too. And he is not the leader of Intergang! They are small and not so big as on your Earth."

"You are lucky!" Jonathan said.

"I get him to my parents. Just in case these men come back!" Clark said.

"Shall we come with you?" Lois asked.

"You have done so much for me! I don't want to pull you into trouble." Jonathan said headshaking.

"Don't worry about me! I can handle trouble!" Lois said smiling.

"Oh… right! The infamous Lois Lane stubbornness that does not fear any danger or trouble."

"What? Was that a compliment, or a warning?"

"A compliment! Sorry, I am just giving you some advice, as soon as the rumors start that you purposefully get yourself in danger, just to get saved by Superman, deny it openly! My mom was always so mad when the gossip-press came up with that story. But don't worry. You just have to rock the interview!"

"Yeah… would be nice! If I would be the one who has the interview?" Lois said.

"Wait… you are not the one who will hold the interview with Superman?" Jonathan asked. "In my world it was a big deal! I watched it at least a million times. Seriously… a Superman interview without Lois Lane? You have a direct line to Superman… use it!"

Lois became pensive at that speech. Jonathan had a good argument. On one side she wanted to make herself a name as a journalist. And being the first one to have an exclusive interview with Superman would be an extreme boost for her reputation. Not to forget the respect she would have. But otherwise, she didn't want to get her whole reputation being built entirely on Superman only. She knew some people at the Planet, who would. But she wanted to be a seriously taken journalist.

"I will think about it!" Lois said, before she took a glimpse on the clock. "For now I have to survive this evening with my dad!"

"The Lois Lane of my world survived much worse things, than diners with the general!" Jonathan said. "Alien invaders, shootings, bombs, breast-cancer…"

Hearing the last word let Lois' heart drop. She didn't hear anything Jon said after the c-word! She didn't hear him praising her as the one person who would be perfect to interview Superman or to uncover the worst things that go on in this city. Or how extraordinary she will be one day, if she is like her doppelgangers. After the c-word, all Lois could say was: "Yes!"

"See… Anyway thank you so much! It felt great to talk to someone who was actually listen to me without changing the topic to things they don't want me involved in!" Jonathan said before he turned to Clark. "Let's get over with it!"

"Don't worry… The Smallville here is not so mean!" Clark said before he took Jonathan and flew with him out.

Lois and Jimmy were alone now. Lois was totally pale and her eyes filled with tears. She didn't react to anything around her. Or to Jimmy.

"Lois? Lois!" Jimmy saw how upset she was. "Lois… Are you okay? You look as if you saw a ghost!"

"Excuse me!" Lois said and let the tears flow while locking herself in the bathroom. Leaving a stunned and shocked Jimmy alone…

Jonathan was laying on Clark's back when latter flew them over to Smallville…

Flying was one of the things, Jonathan dreamt his whole life about. When he was little, he always asked his mother if she could ask Superman to take him one a flight. And he remembered that one day, when he had breakfast with his parents, that they asked him what he would ask Superman in an interview. Five year old Jonathan answered back then, that he wants to ask Superman to teach him to fly. His father was so shocked, that he spit his coffee out and ruined his mother's blouse. For years, Jonathan thought that his father was just shocked. When he figured out the truth about his father, he guessed it was just a surprise for his father. And when he took Jordan for flying lessons while he consequently ignored his feelings, he knew that he has to be ashamed for his question.

His brother apologized to him. Offering to fly with him at first. But things changed. Jordan became more and more arrogant and only took Jonathan on flights, when Jonathan 'demanded' it. The party they attended together and the one time he got to the fortress and talked to Lara without asking his father for permission were the only times his brother really flew with him. The one time, he flew with his brother in the barn, he tried to erase out of his memory. Getting strangled for being human and powerless was something everyone wants to forget.

And now he was here. With this foreign Clark, who brought him to a town where never anything good happens. At least on his Earth. Sure he couldn't know how it was on this Earth, but it was still odd. Jonathan looked around and used the flight to see that Metropolis was indeed totally different. A West-Coast city with East-coast charm. They left the city and flew over a hilly area into a rural area beyond the mountains. Clark flew fast. Faster than any bullet-train drives. But Jonathan wasn't bothered by the speed. When he flew with his brother he wasn't bothered by the speed, too.

But Jonathan didn't think about that more. For now he tried to enjoy the first super-flight of his life, that had a good reason and was just for him. And not to hurt, to punish, or to humiliate him! And Jonathan finally start to relax…

Back in Clark's and Jimmy's apartment, Lois was in the bathroom and poured cold water over her face while she tried to calm down and not to cry any further. She looked into the mirror and noticed immediately how awful she looked. Her father will see that she cried and will demand answers. Ever since the thanksgiving-incident, he tried to show more empathy and more emotions. Pretending to be a father! But she was still unsure about him. Especially after everything Jonathan told about his Sam.

"Lois?!" Jimmy's voice sound up from beyond the door. "Are you really okay?"

"One minute!" Lois yelled back before she dried her face and her hands and felt her body for any knots and any other things that shouldn't be there.

After she was sure that there was nothing that does not belong there, she left the bathroom and faced directly Jimmy who was full of questions.

"Lois, you want to talk about it?" Jimmy asked.

He knew the story about her mom. And he could guess that Jonathan's statement hit a nerve.

"It was… just a bit hard to hear! When… when my mom got her diagnosis, I was too young to understand that it was something that could kill her. I saw her fighting it! I saw her getting better. I saw her getting worse! My father always played it down. She was acting the strong person, that doesn't give up. But I think she knew that she will not make it. But nobody wanted to admit it to me. I was 13, when she died. Younger as Jonathan was when they told him the truth. So, I understand how he felt."

Lois took a deep breath before she grabbed her coat again and prepared to leave. She gave her notes to Jimmy and left to prepare at her place for her meeting with her father.

She had to think a lot about her doppelganger now. Jonathan said she survived the breast-cancer. But it made Lois pensive anyway. She knew she had the genes in her. She knew she can get it, too. But maybe she was exaggerating. She tested herself regularly, had regular checkups and she was living a healthy lifestyle. Keeping herself fit and avoiding things that could cause a breakout. Clark and Jimmy knew her story and she could talk to them if she needed…

Clark meanwhile got closer to Smallville and flew faster when he was near the farm to avoid getting seen by anyone. He noticed that Jonathan was relaxed and enjoyed their flight.

Jonathan noticed immediately that Smallville was indeed very different to the Smallville on his Earth. It looked a lot friendlier. Greener, cleaner, more livable. When they arrived the farm, Jonathan indeed saw a whole different farm. Everything looked more colorful. The area was surrounded by more trees and more green plants. It was not as dull and boring as the farm on his Earth and the place was in a much better condition than on his Earth. Jonathan didn't expect to feel so safe and cared when they landed. But he had to remember himself ever and ever again that this was another Earth and that the Martha and Jonathan Sr. here are not the ones he knew.

"No need to be nervous! Come in! Ma and Pa will be eager to meet you!"

Jon was nervous… he was really about to meet Jonathan Sr. for the first time. And he was going to see Martha again. Not his Martha! And not his Jonathan Sr.! But if they are both just a little bit like their doppelgangers on his world, it will be great. At least one thing, he and not his brother gets…

Jonathan didn't expect his parents to look for him.

He had no clue that his parents were panicked. That his mother was crying waterfalls while trying to make amends while learning about what happened when they were not there for him today. That his father rushed with the shards of the crystal, Jonathan shattered, back to the fortress to ask his mother for help. That his brother was sitting on his bed to cry into Jonathan's pillow instead of tidying up the damaged living-room. That all their friends where worried and tried to find a way to help him in his difficult situation he was in and that everyone was extremely disappointed in Clark, Lois and Jordan…

Jonathan followed Clark to the house. They were obviously going to enter through the rear-door. Clark meanwhile realized that he had no clue how to explain to his parents, that they are suddenly grandparents!

"Clark, what a surprise!" a friendly and happy female voice, that was foreign to Jonathan, said from inside.

"Hello, Ma! Hello, Pa! There is something I need to tell you. I brought a visitor!" Clark said.

A moment later a slim elder man with grey hair and a small, a bit overweighed woman came out and looked on Jon curiously.

Jon knew that they were different, too. But for some reason he still hoped for any resemblance or for a copy of his Martha and his Jonathan Sr. to be here. Looking on them, Jonathan saw immediately that they switched their weights. He knew from the old photos, that Jonathan Sr. was the one who was overweighed. And Martha was always petite and slim. They were vice versa. Also they seemed younger. In their 60s he guessed…

"Hello, young man! Who are you?" Martha said politely.

She had the same kind sound in her voice, his Martha always had. Jonathan looked at her with big eyes while he tried to not to cry at the thought of his Martha's kind voice-sound.

"Ehm… My name is Jonathan! Hello Grand… ehm… Mrs. and Mr. Kent!" Jonathan stuttered. He almost called her 'Grandma'. That would be inappropriate. He also was too scared to offer his hand for a handshake, as he remembered how he lifted these dumbbells, and feared to break their hands. So, he simply bowed a bit.

"Oh, another Jonathan!" Martha said smiling and looked on her husband.

"Ma, Pa… Jonathan needs a place to stay! But there is actually something you should know! Remember when I told you about that multiverse-incident that ruined my first date with Lois?"

"Is he another Lois? A male version?" Jonathan Sr. asked confused.

"Well, he is partly another Lois!" Clark said and blushed. "Ma, Pa… meet your grandson from another Earth! Jonathan Kent! Son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane from another Earth!"

Martha and Jonathan Sr. looked at Jonathan with big eyes. Jonathan felt his heart drop and expected the worst. His heart was pounding. The sweat ran down his face. The following two seconds felt like minutes. But the elder couple start to cheer and welcomed Jonathan with open arms.

Jonathan was led inside where he was led to the living-room and Martha brought pie and tea, while Jonathan Sr. already start to prepare the guestroom. Jonathan sat with Clark silently in the living-room and looked around again. Just like the rest of the farm, everything inside the house was different, too. Everything was in a better condition, seemed more modern and was more inviting. Jonathan felt much better in this house, then in the farmhouse of his own world.

Martha filled him a cup with tea while also handing him a piece of warm apple pie. The smell of the pie remembered Jonathan his own Martha again. Jonathan Sr. joined them and the four Kents were now sitting together. Jonathan was trembling while he took a careful sip from his cup. The tea was good. He didn't expect something else from Martha. Everything she touched tasted awesome. Obviously, something this worlds Martha has in common with them.

"I have to say… this is extraordinary! How did you get here?" Martha asked.

"Long story!" Jonathan said.

"Are you here for a specific reason?" Jonathan Sr. asked.

"No!" Jonathan said shrugging. "This was an accident! I don't even know why I ended up in this world! My first thought was that I died and that I have to pass a test here. But I am sure now that I am not dead!"

The last sentence was a shock for the elder couple, but they tried to remain calm. They saw that something was bothering Jonathan.

"You want to talk about it?" Martha offered.

"Again?" Jonathan said shocked.

"What?" Jonathan Sr. was confused.

"I don't know…" Jonathan said before he took the fork and showed a little piece of pie into his mouth.

That was the moment he felt it and tasted it. The cake… His Martha's apple pie was the best pie he ever ate. His Martha's pie won various baking contests on the county fair. His Martha's pie always cheered him up and let him calm down and open up to her. After her death, his father tried to copy it. His cake was good, too. No doubt! But nothing was comparing to Martha's pie. Jonathan chewed the piece in his mouth. The same taste. The same texture. The same feelings…

Seeing the tears flowing down Jonathan's face, Martha and Jonathan Sr. rushed to Jonathan to comfort him while the boy shoved more cake into his mouth.

"Aww… it tastes exactly like my grandmothers…" the teenager cried.

So many great memories. So many great moments came back into his mind. All the time, his Martha was there for him, when his parents were busy with their own things or Jordan. All the time, Jonathan could openly talk to her about his problems and his feelings. Something he successfully forgot how to do over the past years, because his father taught him that Jordan's Kryptonian powers are more important than his problems.

And so it start to blurt out of him. More detailed and more emotional than in this storage room at the Daily Planet. Maybe it was the cake? Or maybe Martha's kindness and her similarity with his own Martha? But Jonathan told them detailed how the last few years have impacted on him and how mad and disappointed he is of his parents and what led him to shatter this crystal, that brought him here!

Hearing Jonathan's story, let Martha cry, too. Jonathan Sr. could only shake his head in shock about how his son (or better his doppelganger) could be so ignorant and so mean. He seemed to have tried but is absolutely unable to be a father to a powerless child. And that to such a great boy, who gave up everything to support his family. Who took the blame for the whole X-K disaster to protect the girl he loves and the people he thought were his friends. Who was so supportive and patient! Who had everything, the people could expect from a Superman, but wasn't allowed to show his potential just for not being able to shoot lasers out of his eyes. A boy who willingly took the burdens and the weight of the whole world on his shoulders to help those he loved, without getting any support. A boy who tries to find something to feel special, too but is forced to play second fiddle to his superpowered brother, who doesn't seem able to handle the responsibility, his powers bring with him.

Martha and Jonathan Sr. hugged Jonathan and comforted him, while Jonathan shoved more and more pie in. Feeling as if tons of burdens and troubles fell of his shoulders. This was what he always needed: Love! Attention! People who listen to him and accept him for just who he is! His Martha was always the first person, he went to with his problems. When she died, a part of him died, too! He agreed to the move to Smallville because of Martha and his desire to feel close to her.

After letting everything out, Jonathan was so exhausted that Martha and Jonathan Sr. had to bring him upstairs to the guestroom. It was still afternoon, but for Jonathan it was as if he was awake for over 24 hours. Under tears he feels asleep in the soft and comfy bed in the warm and cozy guestroom. Martha and Jonathan Sr. kept sure that Jonathan was sleeping before they left and went downstairs.

Clark was sitting on the couch. He was uptight and was just looking on the couch where Jonathan sat.

"How is he?"

"He is sleeping now!" his father told.

"I want to help him!" Clark said.

"I know! We want that, too!" Martha said and sat down next to him.

"Do you think I would be a bad father?" Clark asked.

Martha and Jonathan Sr. looked at Clark with big eyes and were shocked about this statement. It was a matter both were thinking about for a quite a while. Clark was never sure if he will be able to have children at all. Or that, if he has kids, will they have the same powers as he has. His parents remembered how Clark distanced himself from others when his powers developed, in his fear he could hurt someone. When he met Lois, Martha and Jonathan start to hope. A grandchild was something they always dreamt of.

They didn't care for powers! Everything they always cared for was that Clark feels good and that he (and his children) is healthy and fine.

"Clark, you are a good person! You are not like Jonathan's father! And Lois is not a bad person either! And the fact that you see how bad his decisions were and that you openly disapprove them makes you a much better person than him!" Martha said while holding Jonathan's torn firehouse-shirt in front of her to see if she can save it.

"You can give him that what his father denied him! As much as he can give you information!" Jonathan Sr. reassured him. "Clark… you are a good person! Kind, understanding, empathic, selfless… you know what… I know my grandson for only an hour, but I see that he is a lot like you! Even if he doesn't even look closely like you or Lois, he is definitely Superman's son and a much better Superboy than his selfish brother!"

Clark smiled. "Thank you, Pa! But I still wish there could be more I could do for him… The ship is destroyed and everything else, too! I could have showed him that stuff, so we figure out together more. Maybe decrypt what they said. But all is gone!"

"Not all!" Jonathan Sr. told and pointed on the window.

Together they went to the barn, where Jonathan Sr. opened the heavy door and led them to the end corner, where a big heavy object was laying. Covered with a thick and dirty tarpaulin. Clark kept some distance purposefully. He knew that the technology reacted to him and activates as soon as he touches it.

"Pa, I thought I told you to remove everything! Where did you find it?" Clark asked shocked when his father removed the tarpaulin and revealed a big metallic object, that had the size of a washing machine. Clark could see that it was a small version of the big ship, that emerged from the acre on thanksgiving.

"Clark, we found this a couple of days after the thanksgiving-incident! When we found you out in our fields, your ship had this size. I don't know what happened while it was buried but this is what your ship looked like when you arrived. I think the ship we found later, was over this one."

"When did you want to tell me? I don't want any of that stuff here close to you! You know what happened!" Clark said.

"Clark, we know… but also wanted to be sure! Jonathan said by himself, that you were not sent here to conquer Earth! Maybe we find answers…" Martha tried to reassure him.

"No! I don't want to get you in trouble…" Clark said and wanted to pull the tarpaulin back over the device when it suddenly reacted to his presence…

Jonathan felt remembered back to that day he and Jordan found the spaceship. This thought shot in his head when he suddenly woke up again and sat upright in the bed. A weird humming sound up in his ears as he felt that sudden urge to get to the source of that humming…

Clark had brief flashes of flashbacks. From the Zero-Day invasion. From the moment he was put in that pod. From that woman again…

Jonathan had suddenly visions of his Lara. From a living-version of her! From a big spacious lab where a man was putting a baby into his father's spaceship…

Clark stumbled backwards, pulling the tarpaulin away again and shied away. Jonathan tottered out of the guest room and down the stairs to leave the house and walk barefoot to the barn…

"Clark, are you okay?" Martha said worried.

"Son!"

"I am okay!" Clark said shocked. "One of those visions again! We should get this thing away from here! It's the same technology!"

"Jonathan?" Martha suddenly said.

"What?" her husband asked.

"Not you! Jonathan!" Martha pointed on the open door, where Jonathan was standing. Barefoot, only dressed in the white shirt and the oversized pajama trouser from Clark, they had in the wardrobe.

"What happened?" the boy asked before he spotted the pod. "Is this your pod?"

"Be careful, Jonathan! Don't touch it, it is dangerous!" Clark warned. But it was too late…

Jonathan got closer and a bright flash of energy shoot out of the pod and hit Jonathan's hand. Jonathan shrieked loudly and fell backwards on the ground when the pod suddenly began to float in the barn and opened like a flower it's blossoms. The pod stopped glowing while a bright light was appearing over the pod. Letting the whole barn glow like a lightbulb.

"What is going on?" Martha asked while she and Jonathan Sr. held each other. Clark placed himself protectively in front of his parents, ready to save them from what ever was going to happen.

"Oh my god! I didn't want this!" Jonathan yelled upset. Feeling guilty for this. But suddenly the bright light vanished.

Everyone looked in awe, when they suddenly saw this holographic image of a woman over the pod…
