Professor Hawken slammed his hands on the desk in front of him, startling the nine students, Denzel, Lucy, Aveline, Miles, Cameron, Dawn, Samantha, Frankie, and Hanson, who were sitting right in front of him. Well actually, only eight of them were startled as one of them didn't really care.

He looked at one of the students, Frankie, a dark skinned fellow who just had his brown eyes frenzied from left and right. "I saw Lucy and Cameron pulling each other's hair out on the hallway and screaming their lungs out."

"Lucy was trying to get Miles for herself despite the fact that she clearly has a boyfriend." Cameron snapped, her long and straight jet black hair now in tangles thanks to all the hair pulling.

"Oh shut up, Cameron! We were just talking!" Lucy soured, her black hair equally messy as Cameron's. "You're the one who's overreacting here. Besides, at least I have high grades unlike you who just made goo-goo eyes on Miles 24/7. Denzel and I aren't even dating to begin with."

"I don't care! Your lips were so close to touching his anyway!" Cameron snapped.

Before Miles, Denzel, or anyone else could even get a say in the matter, Professor Hawken made a shushing sound that rang the whole room. "Silence! You are all speaking such nonsense." He gave a jeering look towards Cameron and Lucy, which faded once he saw the rest. "And I assume that the rest of you are either trying to be the peacemakers, the witnesses, or the main cause of commotion between these two ladies…" he added, sending the same jeering look to Miles on the last part. "And with that, your detention, or punishment, for today is to clean up the library. Oh, and no talking or you're staying here in school for the whole night."

"The whole night?" Dawn reiterated, her fingers entangling her wavy strawberry blonde hair. "But I have piano lessons—"

"No ifs," Professor Hawken interjected, "and no buts."

"So you're saying I'm involved in this even though I'm a witness and your nephew?"

Professor Hawken eyed Miles in the eye. "Correction, my nephew, you are not a witness, but the main cause of the commotion, so yes, you're included."

"Gee, thanks." Miles rolled his blue eyes, thanking his uncle in sarcasm font.

"You're welcome." Professor Hawken replied with the same exact font. "Now begone. If you finish the task in an hour then you are free to go. If not, I would grab my pajamas if I were you." He added, before closing the door.

"So, what are you all waiting for?" Denzel asked the dumbfounded students. "Let's go."

"Yeah, let's." Lucy nodded.

The nine students head for the library. Hanson was the first to enter, along with Denzel, Lucy, Dawn, Frankie, Samantha, and Aveline. Before Cameron could even enter, Miles grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to the side.

"You're overreacting." Miles told her darkly.

Cameron didn't move an inch and hung her head low.

"You. Are. Overreacting." Miles scolded. "Lucy and I weren't even close to kissing! And mind you, I knew her way before I knew you."

Cameron couldn't look him in the eye and just continued to look down towards the floor they were standing on.

"This is why I don't want to be with you anymore. You wouldn't even leave me alone. You were never like this in the past two years. Now this year, your attitude has been nothing but complete bullshit."

These words struck her heart into a thousand pieces. She looked up to him, her eyes full of pain with tears starting to stream down.

"Oh so you're crying about it now? Jeez Cameron, you're too sensitive—"

"So does this mean our relationship is useless?" Cameron asked him shakily. "You could've just told me about it so I could fix it. You didn't have to slap it all to me and break up with me because of it."

Miles fell silent as she let her speak.

"You were one of the only reasons why I'm still breathing. You were one of my only sources of happiness. My depressions disappeared when you came into my life , and now… this? "

"Oh so this is my fault now?'

"...Yes."

"Well fine then. We're done. I don't want to see your fucked up face ever again. And to think that you were going to lose your virginity to me that night. Mind you, I'm 18 and you're 16. It just so happens that we're in the same year because you played the role of Ms. Smartypants and skipped a year or two. So in short, this relationship should've been illegal in the first place." Miles gave her an eyeroll before heading into the library.

Cameron watched him enter the library while crying before rushing down to the girls' restroom down the hall. Entering the restroom, she quickly took a look at herself in the mirror as tears streamed her face like an endlessly running river. Looking at the sink below, she started to sob, switching the faucet on and gathered some water to rinse her face. She'd never experienced a breakup before and she didn't think she was ready to face it. She let the water run as she let all her feelings out.

Hanson, Lucy, Denzel, Dawn, Aveline, Samantha, and Frankie all stepped into the library and looked at the different books scattered on the ground. God, what kind of library is this…

"Yo, where the hell is the librarian when you need them?" Frankie chuckled nervously.

Dawn shrugged. "You mean Ms. Coyle? I don't know, it almost looks as if she left a ghost town here."

Miles caught up to the group as everyone began to split ways into the aisles.

"Okay everyone, let's get this done quickly so that we could all go home as soon as possible." Hanson announced as soon as he approached the bookshelf that was closest to him. However, due to him not looking on his way, he accidentally bumped one of the shelves on purpose. "Ow—"

Dawn pointed at him. "Hanson, watch out—"

Thud.

A thud rang throughout the whole library. A cloud of dust immediately rose from the ground where something fell. Thanks to this, everyone coughed.

"It's a book that fell. Well duh, because we're in a library." Frankie breathed in between coughs. Once the dust was slightly cleared, he grabbed a rather thick book that was entitled, Wizard101. It was about as thick as the thickest book of the encyclopedia. "A dusty one too."

The students coughed it all out for a bit of some time before Frankie had a hand wiping off the dust clean.

"What's it about?" asked Miles who almost didn't even bother to look at it anyway. "Rainbows and unicorns who faced darkness, gathered around a campfire victoriously and sang Kumbaya?"

Frankie skimmed through the pages of the book. "Dragons... titans... giants... wizards. Haha. Sick."

"Is this some kind of sick Harry Potter joke?" Miles interjected again and let out a loud scoff, accompanied with an eye roll. "Hilarious."

"Why would they keep a book like this in the nonfiction section?" asked Dawn, looking at the shelf that was labeled, nonfiction on it. She got herself thinking that the book was somehow misplaced by possibly other students. "This is clearly some kind of fiction fantasy novel."

"Probably one of those dumb freshmen messing with the bookshelves yet again, sounds annoying if you asked me." Samantha shrugged, flipping her long red hair thinking about her younger sister in the freshman year. "Ew, freshmen."

"The eye of history shows the events of the whole Spiral in full turn." Frankie read.

"Dude, I don't really know about you guys but I'm already not liking the sound of that." Denzel winced.

"What, you think that if Frankie's gonna read the whole passage, we'll get transported or something?" Samantha chuckled, the redhead examining her recently manicured nails. "Not gonna happen, Zel."

"Sam, crazy shit happens everyday." Lucy defended Denzel. "Remember how that one student in the other class was presumed dead but he showed up to school the next day? Now he's missing. I think his name was something like Steven Warren or something."

Samantha then came to a shrug. "Well, yeah I guess. But in the end, it's all fiction."

By the time Frankie had finished reading the passage, a note fell off from the book.

"Hey, something fell." Hanson pointed, grabbing the piece of paper that was now on the floor and unfolding it. He hissed under his breath as soon as he saw a note written in big, red letters. " WARNING: DO NOT READ THE PASSAGE OUT LOUD IF YOU WANT TO STAY ON EARTH. "

"Haha, what the fuck? Jeez, these authors sure know how to make a warning." Samantha chuckled.

Aveline, who was completely silent throughout the whole ordeal finally reacted with her eyes slightly widening, looking at Hanson. "Does it say what happens if we do?"

Samantha took the opportunity to throw in another eyeroll. "Of course it doesn't. The author just wants us to feel scared to the point where we wish to be with our mommies begging for comfort. Today isn't April Fools', honey."

"I wasn't talking to you." Aveline quietly gritted her teeth towards Samantha as her right eye twitched. "Idiot."

"Excuse me?" Samantha fired, immediately getting fed up at the brunette.

"Ladies! Chill! Yeesh!" Frankie overpowered their voices, well mostly Samantha's. "No need to fight over a book!"

Before the redhead could say another word, Frankie gave her a look that told her not to. Aveline was already quiet so he was waiting for her to settle down as no one noticed that Cameron had returned from her crying session and stepped into the library.

"Guys? Y'all—" Denzel widened his eyes as he immediately pointed at the book that Frankie was holding. It started to glow and emit lights of different colors, namely red, blue, purple, yellow, green, white, and tan.

"Holy shit—" Frankie gasped as he tossed the book to Hanson, who unconsciously caught it with both hands. He tossed it to Denzel as if he was holding a hot iron.

"Dude!" Denzel shrieked, tossing it back to Hanson. The blonde boy did not catch it and let it drop to the ground.

"What the hell is happening?" Hanson winced as they all watched the book unfold and emit the most brightest lights in different colors.

Out of panic, Samantha rushed for the library's main entrance. However, it was locked. Looking back, she saw Cameron with fear in her eyes. "You locked it, didn't you?!"

"I didn't, I swear!"

"Guys, help!" A shriek came from the group, showing Dawn being sucked into the book. "I can't get out!"

"Hold on!" Aveline quickly grabbed both of Dawn's hands and pulled them as far as she could. However, this did not work as Aveline was now also being sucked into the mystical book.

"Pull!" Lucy shouted, grabbing onto Aveline's waist in hopes of pulling her and Dawn back. Hanson, Denzel, Frankie, and Miles rushed over to help them.

"Guys help me please!" Dawn wailed as her upper limbs were left before being completely sucked in.

Instead of helping the group pull, Cameron rushed over to Dawn's side and grab hold of her waist but to no avail, getting her sucked in too.

"Aaaaah!" Dawn screamed, feeling her whole body getting pulled into the dusty book.

"Guys… I can't… hold… any longer…" Cameron panted. The wrong move she did made her the second person sucked into the novel.

"Shit, hold on!" Hanson shrieked. Everyone screamed at the top of their lungs as they were all pulled in one by one. When they all disappeared out of sight, the book stopped emitting light and closed, leaving the library eerily quiet with no one around.
