Now onto the story.

Chapter 53
Hearing that, Spider-Man knew he'd have to react quickly, therefore he immediately leapt from the building and swung out in the direction of Times Square in Midtown.
"El, what's going on?" He asked worriedly.
"Like I said, we're fine, Kali and I aren't hurt." She replied. "It's just...well, you'll see when you get here, but the short version is, we can't hurt him."
"What?!" He gasped.
Now he was getting very worried and so began to swing quickly, as fast as he could until he was finally in Midtown and saw Times Square up ahead, he noticed right away that all the screens there were off and then saw the bright flashes of light and had a feeling that was no coincidence. He moved towards only to see something that caught his eye and noticed that the source of the flashes of light were indeed trouble, it was Mysterio again, meanwhile at the tip of Time's Square's southern end stood Kali, along with several other Kali's throughout the park. Meanwhile, on a ledge halfway up a building to the right, was El, looking frantic.
'So, I've got a feeling that there's a lot here I'm missing, but that light around Mysterio doesn't look good. I just hope this isn't what I fear it is.' Spider-Man wondered, anxiously.
He swung up to El, determined to get some answers.
Landing on the ledge next to her, Spider-Man nodded to El.
"Sandman all dealt with, what's going on around here?"
El grimaced. "Alright, Kali and I aren't hurt, he can't get us, but there's a problem...Mysterio isn't either, we just can't hurt him."
"Can't hurt him?" Spider-Man queried in surprise.
"That barrier." El explained. "He was using the screens here to multiply his illusions and tried to cause chaos with them."
Spider-Man nodded, he might have guessed that to be the case, it only made sense given all the Oscorp tech Mysterio now had at his disposal.
El wasn't done explaining however and revealed even more.
"Kali is using her illusions to draw his attacks, I took that chance to disable each of the TV screens here." She paused and shook her head. "It worked on disabling his illusions and he's still trying to find the real Kali, but with that barrier up, he's too well protected from my powers and even if we could get close enough, I doubt we have the strength to damage him, or the barrier control."
She pointed to the belt Mysterio was wearing, the centre of it glowed in time with the barrier and Spider-Man grimaced. "Great, well that is a complication. Alright, I'll try and get in close and take out the barrier, help Kali distract him...how long has she been maintaining the illusions?"
"Quite a while...I know, I'm worried she'll wear herself out." El replied.
Spider-Man nodded. "Let's hurry."
With that El stepped up and began attacking again while Spider-Man began to move around so as not to be seen by Mysterio as he turned to taunt El.
"Are you seriously stupid." He scoffed. "You already know that is not going to work and-"
He was cut off by Spidey landing on top of him, both feet hitting off the top of his helmet, fazing him.
Unable to stop himself, Spidey quipped. "Tag!"
Mysterio stumbled and tried to turn but Spider-Man was already on him and attacking, beating him up.
Mysterio however finally began to fight back, blocking a few strikes before attempting to strike back. Spidey dodged a few blows and went to attack the belt but, surprisingly, Mysterio blocked the blow.
"So that's your game." He growled. "You just have to keep getting in the way Spider-Man."
He then used his tech to launch out a shockwave and Spidey was launched away. He quickly flipped in mid-air and landed against the wall of a nearby building, grimacing.
"Okay, so he's definitely not gonna make this easy for us." He muttered.
Mysterio wasn't done yet as he suddenly launched another attack Spider-Man's way. He had to dodge quickly.
"You will pay for interfering with me again, you come to just aid these mutants...I would've thought Sandman…" Mysterio snapped.
"Still trying to get revenge on me, jeez." Spider-Man shot back before adding. "As for Sandman, already dealt with him, he's been sealed away and caught by the police. You're next."
Mysterio roared with anger before El attacked him again and Kali made her illusions to attack him by closing in and once more distracting him. Spidey took the opening and fired himself directly at the enraged illusionist. This time he took no chances and aimed directly for the belt buckle, Mysterio tried to attack but was too slow and he could only yelp as Spider-Man struck home and knocked Mysterio off his feet, the barrier was damaged as was the buckle and this time, Spider-Man attacked again and this time destroyed it completely, Kali dropped to her knees, exhausted at this point, her illusions vanishing. But they had done it. El quickly acted and used her powers to pin Mysterio down and allowing Spider-Man to web him up and leave him secure. He screamed and tried to get free but it was useless, he was trapped.
The trio quickly regrouped, Kali was gasping for breath.
"That...that was too close." She got out.
El grimaced and bit her lip. "We got it done at least...The police will be here soon, they'll have him restrained soon."
Spider-Man nodded. "Yeah...now it's just...Venom, he's got Mike, I've got to save him now."
"Let us help." El began.
"No, you're both too tired." Spider-Man said quietly. "Go to my place, my team have gathered there, you can recover and keep and eye on them if things get too crazy."
They watched him worriedly, but then nodded and left. Ignoring Mysterio still shouting, Spider-Man swung up to the rooftops and now faced an issue, he had to find Venom and save Mike.
