Sup, guys? Lighting Wolf here, back for another story, this one about Pokémon. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Pokémon; Nintendo and a few others do.

She waited about an hour past when the rest of the facility had closed. The Elite Four headquarters for the region had their hours, each member had been given their rooms for the days and was open to accepting new travelers daily.

She waited for the trainer who she had clashed with several times. It could be called masochism by some, to her? It was fun, pure, and simple in her own words.

"I almost thought you wouldn't come," Karen stated, pointing a finger at the trainer who approached, getting a nod from said trainer. "Ready to start this duel?" Karen added, crossing her arms as she did so.

"I figured it would be rather better when it comes down to it." He added, pausing to think about what he did next. "You know you've been rather confident despite me having at least three fighting types…" He put in, crossing his arms to reflect on which Pokémon he'd use next.

"Yes, and as I said, type advantage means nothing. You should use the Pokémon you like and respect being around." Karen responded, patting her Umbreon on its head. "And it seems you took what I said to heart at the moment. That's good, it will make this battle a lot more interesting." Karen added, dusting off her hands as she smirked.

She liked battling trainers with her Pokémon. It was what she lived for and she knew her friend did as well. He hadn't beaten her, and despite how most people believed the EF worked? Karen was not someone who wanted to make her skilled opponent suffer, plus he had been willing to fight both members, both of whom he had managed to overcome in battle.

It was not something she'd make him go through again, not for the effort he was willing to put in just to make it to her. Karen nodded at him; she hadn't gotten his name the last 2 attempts they had clashed. That would change today, that would be her prize if she won… Or lost, it would be a simple second-place prize, enterprise worked for her in the end.

"Are we going to win or at the moment when it came down to it you just want to finish another fight?" Karen asked, spinning the Pokeball in the palm of her hand a moment later. "I'm going to guess that you know that there's little chance your win so easily," Karen added to which the trainer chuckled with amusement as he turned towards Karen a second later, cracking his fingers.

"I'm going to guess you know I've been training since then." The boy said, tossing his Pokeball from one hand to another as they continued walking through the hallway. "I'm going to try my hardest when it came down to it." He stated while he spun his Pokeball in the palm of his hand as well.

Karen could only question what tricks he would do, however. It was going to be much more interesting if he had trained at the time. He could only point out there would be more to do at the moment. Still? He was quite interesting when it came to battles, but it would be tough, both gave it all at the moment or they would lose at the second.

"You know there's going to be a dangerous fight," Karen stated while she clicked her fingers together. "And you're probably going to lose," Karen added to which got a shake of the head.

"Funny, but I almost defeated you last time and next time, AKA now?" He questioned as he crossed his arms a moment later. "You want to talk or get on with this fight?" He added while he prepared for the Pokeball as he thought about the next movement while he crossed his arms.

There was going to be a long fight between the duo at the time. He knew for a fact that it would be rather funny at the second.

"Let's get this done then," Karen stated while she tossed the first Pokeball at the field in front of her.

"Ok then." He added which got a nod from Karen as he threw the Pokeball at the field.

Phew. The first chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will end up showing the beginning of this battle. The next chapter will be 900-3500 words at the moment.
