When Peeta returns to District 12, Katniss resolves to help him in the only way she knows how: playing real-not-real with him. Together, they play a game piecing their pasts together, but this time, maybe there can actually be two victors without any bloodshed. This time, maybe they can find their way to each other once and for all.

Peeta and Katniss were never reaped but were still the inevitable star-crossed lovers. Now, in the 4th Quarter Quell, the Capitol votes on the tributes they send to the 100th Hunger Games. She's actually a very lovely young lady, friends with just about every victor there is, she'll be last on their kill list."

It's a game. It's fun, it's safe. But uh oh! They better watch out. It looks like there's a glitch in the system.

Effie Trinket, just another Capitol puppet. The Quarter Quell begins and it suddenly shows that Effie isn't as obsessed with the Capitol as it seemed. The revolution gets going and Effie, who came closer to Haymitch than she would have ever expected, has to figure out where her loyalties lie. And her time is running out.

After Katniss wins The Hunger Games, three years of civil unrest prompt President Snow to demand that she brokers peace between the Capitol and the rebels. Katniss proposes an awful alternative, one that may end the rebellion but will certainly destroy both of their lives. (Katniss/Snow reluctant marriage)
