Story Start!
Naruto was doing rounds on the ship.
"Ishtar! Are you good up there?" Naruto shouted at the top of his lungs, seeing as Ishtar was floating 50 feet above the Crow's Nest. She lowered herself to the next so that she could send him a thumbs up. "Go to the kitchen and get something to eat, we're dropping anchor soon." Naruto didn't need to shout at the top of his lungs now that she was lower.
Naruto started to walk to the wheel.
Anne and Mary were both taking turns steering the ship, while Mary was taking a smoke break with her pipe, sitting on the railing of the ship, Anne was keeping the wheel steady. Naruto walked right up the stairs.
"Hello Master."
"We're dropping anchor for dinner, then we're going to take a rest for the night after a meeting." Naruto told the Duo Servant. Mary glanced towards him and nodded her head, she emptied the burnt up contents of her pipe into the ocean behind her and put her pipe up.
"Okay/Understood Master!"
"Okay then, I'm going to find Shuten and Atalanta next then." Naruto started his search to let them know what was going to be happening.
-Hours Later-
It was meal time.
All of his servants were sitting at a table together, some didn't have food and just had wine (Shuten), while others had full meals in front of them. Anne and Mary were squeezing limes into their water, and had a cup of the lower grade booze on board as well. Then you had Beni who was just eating silently next to Van Gogh... who had a salad to eat, and nothing else.
Atalanta was nothing but meat, and she was sending glances to Ishtar who had already finished her own meal, while Tamamo next to her was avoiding Beni's gaze at all costs.
Naruto sat down, and Melusine sat next to him.
She never left his side.
"Okay then, since we're all hear. Ishtar has told me she has located an island with abundant resources. Before we come across another Master Crew, I think we should Fire-Proof and increase the Durability of our own ship. I've been looking over my Island Chart, and I noticed there is an island that is noted to have Wyverns and Dragons living there... that is our first destination." Naruto started off as he started to eat his own meal.
"Dragons... seems fun."
"Why are we going to a dangerous island?" Atalanta questioned him, since it would be better for them to start off going to the island with plenty of resources first. They weren't even close to being empty on resources, but securing long term resources would make more sense than going into danger.
She wasn't the only one who had that thought, she was just thge only one who voiced it out loud. Half of the crew were having similar thoughts.
Naruto thought for a moment.
"... Well, we can cover the ship with dragon scales to make us fire proof and increase our durability. If we accidentally run into another Master who destroys our ship, well, we're a little screwed. Having a ton of resources doesn't mean anything when our boat can't handle a battle right now. We can gather Wyvern and Dragon skin, and then go to the island with resources to improve the ship." Naruto hadn't even heard of a single sign of other Master Vessels yet. Ishtar had not scene a single sign of another ship yet, which was a good thing since it gave them time to improve the ship to some degree.
"So that is the game plan, we prepare for battle by avoiding battles with other Masters?" Beni summarized his thoughts.
Naruto shook his head, and she blushed.
He crossed his arms.
"The Condition for Winning this War is getting all 7 Holy Grails and taking them to a Mystery Island with a Shrine... we aren't going into battle until OUR Holy Grail is safe. We're going to find a good island, and bury our Holy Grail to keep it away from other Masters if they sneak onto our ship and try to steal it." Naruto didn't want to risk it being stolen and being at a severe disadvantage. He would rather do the pirate thing and bury it on an island where they would know it's location. "Then, once we gather the other 6 Holy Grails, we get ours back and win."
"I like that plan." Anne instantly agreed with it.
"Burying treasure is the pirate way." Mary agreed with Anne, the two of them having sparkles in their eyes. It was hard for them not to accept the idea.
"What if the other Masters think the same thing?" Tamamo brought up that.
Naruto grinned.
"Which is why we increase the durability of the ship, so we can go in close and board their ship long enough to force them to tell us where they stashed their grail." Naruto knew they would eventually have to ram their ship into another ship, or get in close enough to get on another ship. It wouldn't do for their ship to have holes blown into it during that time either.
Melusine glared at Shuten for laughing when she laughed, before she started to clap her hands at Naruto's plan. She was the only one who clapped though, but instead of getting embarrassed, she clapped louder and got Naruto to blush. He sank into his seat a little more, before he recovered.
"Any questions?"
"What do we do if we come across another Master Crew?"
"We take their grail if we can, and slaughter them." Naruto answered while ripping into the unknown meat on his plate. He had the approval of Atalanta and Shuten, as well as Ishtar and Beni with that. The others were overall neutral to the plan, but Van Gogh stood up and cleared her throat.
"... and what can I do to help?" She asked with a nervous smile.
Naruto actually had an answer.
"Camoflauge, once we cover the ship in scales, I want you to paint the entire ship to blend in with the ocean." Naruto responded, and even Van Gogh was now all in on the plan. The second painting was mentioned, she had a purpose for why she was on the ship.
Now she could barely wait to start painting.
"Just the side of the ship though, not the deck. Painting the deck is a hazard." Mary noted, since she would just end up scrubbing the paint off anyway when they cleaned the deck. "Also... I can feel it. It seems that one of the enemy Master's has summoned a very... unpleasant servant. I feel goosebumps." Mary noted as she glanced towards Anne.
Anne blinked.
"Teach?"
"Teach. I think somebody has has summoned Blackbeard, Edward Teach, as a servant. That means there is a Master who has access to more than 1 ship." Mary informed Naruto. "... I can feel him, somewhere on the ocean... the ocean has an unpleasant feel to it. He's a fool, but he is still an excellent pirate." Mary informed them.
Anne chimed in.
"Meaning that if Teach was summoned, he would be heading straight for the island with the most resources. Since we're close to that island, depending on where his Master started off, he could be a few days, to a few weeks away from us. Heading to the resource island would be great, but we would have to fight." Anne was chipper about it. "... in which case, if Teach really has been summoned, let us take care of him." Anne pulled Mary closer to her.
Naruto nodded.
"I have no problem with it. Can anyone else sense something on the ocean?" Naruto asked as he looked around the table.
Nobody responded.
"Okay, Atalanta, you and Tamamo will be night guards then. If you smell any ships coming, wake everyone up... and Tamamo, can you hide the ship with your spells?" Naruto asked her.
"Easy mikon~!"
"It shouldn't be a problem. Servants don't need sleep, so shouldn't we just sail through the night?" Atalanta with her questions again.
"... but servants still feel exhaustion, you might not need sleep, but you need rest. Being on high alert all the time will mentally exhaust us. It's why we should be thankful to Beni, she makes these great meals to help us relax." Naruto looked to his Saber, who just looked surprised at being brought up like that.
"It is no problem."
"No no, having a cook is really important. Servants might not need to eat, but eating can help everyone relax. Some of us are a little too relaxed." Naruto looked to Ishtar and Shuten, who didn't look like they had a stressed bone in their bodies. Shuten spent most of her time drinking and just watching the ocean move.
Not that she could really contribute to much of how the ship ran.
She was more of a combat oriented servant, so saving her strength for combat was a good move anyway.
Atalanta stood up.
"Skeletons! We've been boarded by skeletons!" Atalanta smelled invaders. "Master, orders!"
"Take care of them." Naruto looked to Atalanta, and then he looked around the table. "Do you need help?" Naruto asked Atalanta, but she had already left to go to the main deck to fight the skeletons who had boarded their ship while they were eating. Naruto saw a few skeletons walking down to the stairs with swords and spears, their clothes in tatters.
Atalanta shattered both of them on her way to the main deck.
Naruto nudged Melusine.
"Go help... Anne and Mary, you two make sure the skeletons don't destroy anything important to the boat." Naruto assigned the 3 front line servants who would be doing the fighting. His servants obeyed him, and all of the ones called on got up and ran towards the main deck to assist Atalanta with the destruction of the invaders.
-5 Minutes Later-
"Battle report?" Naruto asked when his servants came back.
Atalanta was holding a back of red bones, while the pirates were holding a bag filled with bronze and silver coins they had gotten. Finally, Melusine was holding a red and gold chest, that she set down and opened up. She pulled out 7 Bottles of Beer, all of which had the image of a large breasted pirate woman on the label of the beer bottle.
"We sank the Skeleton ship that got close to us, and killed all of the skeletons. These spoils belong to you Master." Melusine offered the prize to him. It was a short battle, but they had managed to get some war spoils from it.
Naruto hummed.
"... So there are also Skeleton Crew Ships out there we have to worry about... and what is this beer. Oh well... we'll store all of this downstairs for now." Naruto was learning they weren't alone on the ocean.
He knew that there were 6 other Masters.
He also knew about some group called Chaldea.
He was now learning that other dangers sailed the waters.
That did nothing but excite him.
