Authors Note: Well, that's the newest chapter on Second Childhood, and that's how it was the start of the friendship between Loona and Moxxie. Who knew it would be like that? Do you want more childhood memories of Loona? Ask questions on the reviews, go to my twitter, make some noise. I want to know theories, ideas and I want to know more childhood scenes you want to know about the couple of Hazbin Hotel / Helluva Boss family. XD
As they walked through the main hall of the hotel, the sweet smell of a baking cake was enough to catch the attention of the hellhound and the sinner who were entering the hotel. Loona tried to stay strong despite her morning sickness, ignoring the slight urge to vomit in the nearest trash can. She walked alongside the co-owner of the hotel towards the kitchen, where they were both surprised to see Moxxie and Charlie laughing as they looked at a book in their hands.
"Mi amor." Vaggie commented as she approached the imp and the princess who was engrossed in that moment. "May I know what's going on?"
"Oh Vaggie, Moxxie, and I are just reminiscing about good memories that I received as a birthday gift. Look at this photo. It was the first prank Moxxie pulled on his great-uncle Adam. I think it was the first time I saw my dad cry with pride for him," Charlie said, showing a photo in the album that depicted a 13-year-old Moxxie dressed exactly like Queen Lilith, with someone vomiting in the background and the Pride King laughing uncontrollably.
Vaggie tried to maintain a serious posture, but upon seeing the photo, it truly seemed like an iconic scene, and the laughter of both mother and son as they reminisced didn't help the sinner who was trying to contain her laughter.
"Well, it seems Moxxie already gave you his birthday present," Loona commented as she approached both of them and looked at the photo album they were enjoying at the moment.
"Hello, Loona, good to see you," Charlie greeted as she noticed her daughter-in-law in the kitchen. She stood up and gave Loona a warm hug, which the hellhound accepted with a slight smile on her face. "I hope it wasn't too difficult to park here."
"It was. You guys need to deal with the streets around here. I don't know why there are so many obstructions in the middle of the damn night," Loona muttered as she flipped through one of the pages of the photo album. "Moxxie insisted on showing me this album only when you were around. I had to wait for weeks to find out what important memories these photographs hold."
Moxxie glanced at his wife and rolled his eyes, but there was a small victorious smile on his face.
"Well, since you're so eager to know what's important in this family album, I'm sure you'll love some of the pages we have here," Moxxie said mysteriously, causing Loona to raise an eyebrow in suspicion.
Humming, Loona turned a few more pages without really looking at some photos, until her eyes blinked for a brief moment, and after a few seconds, her gaze became fixed as she stared at Moxxie in disbelief.
In one of the photos, there was Loona at the age of 7. Her silver hair was short, with a small wild ponytail that added to her cute and rough look. She wore a faded blue t-shirt, black shorts, black ballet flats, and black socks. And beside her was a 12-year-old imp wearing a white and red shirt, and a petite scarlet and black blazer. Both of them were enjoying ice cream cones.
Loona remained motionless as the imp smiled at his victory, noticing that her wife's cheeks started turning red. It was a feeling he hadn't seen from her in a while, and it was one of the things that would always be his victory.
"HOW DID YOU GET A PICTURE OF THIS?" Loona roared as her fur turned crimson. In response, her husband burst into laughter, the kind she wanted to strangle him for.
"Loona, my love, my wolf of the fury of ten thousand eclipses... It's a secret that only Grandma and Aunt Bezzy know. It came from their memories," Moxxie jumped out of his seat and walked toward the nearest fridge. "But I must say, this photo is truly something I will always remember... one of the best days of my life."
"...just like mine... It was on the same evening I met you," Loona remembered well how that day had started... and how her future had been changed just by meeting that imp.
Loona Pov:
I remember that day as a bittersweet day for me, although I don't have many memories of who my adoptive parents were, as they abandoned me every time. I remember one time when a sinner tried to adopt me to gain the rights and financial support from Pride Ring to have assistance in taking care of me as an adoptive daughter.
She was the third person who tried to adopt me. I think her name was Mirian, and the only thing I remembered about her was how she was a woman who was out of control with drinking. She would isolate herself on her couch while using the money that was supposed to support me to buy alcoholic drinks.
To be honest... among all the people who had adopted me and sent me back to the orphanage, she was the one I had the least complaints about. She was a bitch, but she didn't hit me or remember me. She simply treated me like a dog and put me outside the house without caring about how I would get back home. Whether I returned wounded or hungry, she simply let me exist.
One of the most important days of my life was when I stole some soul notes from her purse while she was fast asleep. She usually never noticed when a couple of soul notes went missing, and she would think she had spent them on beer. And with the money I had saved up on my own, I finally managed to buy an ice cream cone. It was something I always looked at in the parks, seeing the obnoxious mothers and their annoying children always screaming to have one...
I looked at them and felt disgusted... because I couldn't imagine what they did to have a woman or a man who always listened to their voices while asking for food for them. I always had to find my own food. Climb trees, and eat animals and fruits that were around. It's not something I'm proud of, but in those times of survival, it was necessary for me to do.
But ice cream... when I had that cone for the first time... I couldn't remember how much I had always wanted to have something to eat at that moment... I couldn't even remember if I had ever had something sweet and cold before that day.
"Okay, let's see if this crap is really as good as they say," I commented as I hesitantly put my tongue to the ice cream's cream. And the moment I tasted the sweetness and coldness in my mouth, I never imagined that life could be so sweet and beautiful. I refused to believe that I started crying because I'm a hunter and I don't cry.
And as I was about to take another bite, I felt a strong push from behind, and I could see the whole world turning in slow motion. Because I saw my cone falling and before I knew it, it was already on the ground... completely dirty and spilled.
"Watch where you're going, mutt," I heard a voice behind me, and when I turned around, it was an older hellhound than me, a boy who had knocked down my ice cream. And he didn't even bother to apologize.
My response to that moment was just two things. My claws at his throat and my right fist in his face.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHH." His screams of agony fueled my anger even more, and I was in a complete rage that I kept hitting him even harder. And before I knew it, he was completely knocked out on the ground, while I didn't stop and continued kicking him in the face.
"You bastard, damn you, damn you, do you have any idea how long I waited to eat that? Damned." I kept kicking him uncontrollably. And when I realized he was unconscious, I looked at the group of boys who were staring at me while I beat one of them. "WHAT? YOU WANT SOME TOO?"
I don't need to say that they accepted my invitation, and at that moment, I was out of control. And when I realized it, all the hellhound boys were on the ground, some eating mud, and others were covering their genitals with their hands.
That's when I noticed two more boys, but this time, instead of being hellhounds, they were just an imp and what seemed to be a demon goat. I approached the larger one of the two angrily and grabbed him by the collar.
"Want some of this too, big guy?" I could see that the bigger one was sweating with fear, while I simply wanted to stop fighting.
But I never imagined that the imp standing next to him stepped between me and my prey.
"HEY, don't you dare hurt my friend. Or you'll have to deal with me." The imp stared at me without hesitation, and his elegant outfit made him nothing more than a well-dressed imp. But after a few seconds of staring at him, I restrained myself...
"Whatever." I simply turned around and walked away from the two. I simply lost the desire and walked four blocks from the park to an abandoned house on the outskirts of a forgotten and hidden pride civilization. And as I entered, I simply looked at my belongings there. A mattress hanging from a chain, pieces of wood full of scratches and bite marks.
And no matter how hard I tried to hide it... this question was always in my head. And with all my anger, I needed to question myself as I needed to punch something.
BAMBAMBAM
"WHY IS THAT IMP SO GODDAMN CUTE?" I punched as my face blushed and my thoughts turned to the imp who was slightly taller than me, but he was so adorable that I couldn't bring myself to punch his face. My heart raced as I pictured his face in my thoughts. "UGHHHHH, AM I HAVING A CRUSH ON HIM? GODDAMMIT."
It felt like so many seconds, or minutes had passed, I couldn't remember. I just remembered that I was still very hungry, and I needed to eat something, and losing an ice cream cone felt like my heart had truly been ripped out.
So I had no choice but to go back to the park... wondering if the cute imp had finally left and left me alone. If I was lucky, maybe a sinner had thrown leftover hot dog scraps in the trash.
"Well, well, well, so it's you who was causing a fight in the middle of the park and ended up hitting my little brother," a slightly deeper voice caught my attention, and before I knew it, I was surrounded by what seemed to be 10 teenage hellhounds. The pack, which both made me anxious and pissed off.
"And if I am?" I already knew that the worst was about to begin, but if they think I'm going to apologize, they can kill me, but it wasn't my fault, it was that little shit who dropped what I had been searching for in my life. And if I'm going to die, I'll at least take one of them down with me.
"Well, boys. It seems we have a rebel among us. Let's teach her a lesson." The pack leader smiled as I saw one of them grab my shoulders. But I immediately furiously bit his fingers, but I was met with punches, blows, and kicks.
I already knew that at least one of my arms was numb and even bleeding. But I kept struggling. I have no memories of how much I fought back, but I knew one thing. I took a beating that day.
But just when I thought I was going to keep getting beaten.
"WOAH, WOAH. Hold on a second. What's going on here?" A familiar voice that not only made my blood run cold but made my heart race like crazy. The little cute imp stepped into the middle of the fight and held onto me. "Don't you think this is a bit excessive? There are 10 of you, and you're three times her size."
And even though I really wanted him to shut up, his voice was enough to make the group of hellhounds around us laugh at him, while my face hurt from the beating I had taken.
"You're just an imp. You're in a big dog fight, and you think you can just waltz in? Well, if you want to get beat up, we can teach you a lesson too." The pack leader smirked at him, but just as I was about to say something to him, the imp simply put something in my hands, and when I took a closer look... it was a pair of noise-canceling headphones. Why did he want to give me those?
"My grandfather had told me that I would encounter hellhounds like this." I heard the cute imp lament while I caught a glimpse of the sun reflecting on something in his hands, and when I realized... I panicked at what seemed to be the worst kind of torture device that reminded me of the orphanage... he had the cursed instrument. "Well, my grandpa always told me don't get the shit of other demons. And he taught me a valuable lesson... Chaos is justice for all."
I put the headphones on my head, and as I couldn't hear anything, I could see that this imp didn't waste a single second and started blowing into the torture instrument. And in my eyes, as I heard nothing, I could look at the horror in front of me.
All the teenage hellhounds, were muted but grunted with what seemed to be sounds of agony, while some doubled over as they couldn't bear the pain. For the first time... that damn whistle didn't affect me, and it was as if I didn't hear the sound of hell in my ears, and yet looking around me, the imp kept blowing the whistle until the teenagers cried and fled the park, leaving only me and the imp alone.
When the imp stopped blowing, he simply gave me a faint smile, while my heart continued to race, but when I noticed, he looked at me with concern and tried to say something to me.
"What?" I asked, but in the next moment, the imp decided it was a good idea to take the noise-canceling headphones off my ears.
"I'm sorry." The imp apologized as he gently held one of my arms. "We need to do something; you're bleeding heavily from your arm. You can't be like this; we need to find my grandma."
"Your what?" I couldn't quite understand because he was so worried and speaking quickly that I couldn't comprehend what he was saying.
At the moment he was about to explain himself further, I heard footsteps running at high speed, and when I turned around, I saw a hellhound I had never seen before. Its yellow fur, colorful spiked hair, and tattoos showed independence but also a certain sense of freedom and kindness.
"MOXXIE!" The hellhound shouted as she ran and hugged the imp, whose name seemed to be Moxxie... "I heard you using the whistle, something happened?"
"Oh, it's okay, Granny Beezy." I heard Moxxie reply to the girl who seemed to be staring at me, and upon noticing my appearance, she seemed horrified at what had happened. "There were some bully hellhounds who were beating her up, so I decided to defend her by using the whistle you gave me. And yes, I gave her the headphones so she wouldn't suffer from them."
As I saw the imp respond, I could see that this girl seemed much more relieved.
"That's good." She sighed as she smiled and walked closer to me. "I may not look like an expert healer like Lucifer, but I still know the basics of first aid. And I'm sure that when we treat this, you'll feel much better tomorrow."
I flinched when she touched me because, the next moment, she applied a liquid to my arm that made me scream in pain. It burned so much that it felt like it was on fire, and when I realized it, she had already bandaged my arm.
"There you go! You'll feel better tomorrow." Her smile, though it seemed caring, I couldn't feel any anger towards her. She seemed like a good person.
"Thank you," I replied as I tried to move, but my body was still sore, and my hunger didn't seem to help at the moment.
"Well, it seems like you two have been through a lot. How about I treat you both to some hot dogs and an ice cream cone?" She spoke the words that I never imagined I would hear before...
I don't know why, but for the first time... tears streamed down my face, but this time, I had a good feeling as I cried. It felt like the first time I cried tears of joy.
*SNAP*
Loona snapped out of her thoughts as she heard the sound of laughter from an imp who seemed to be enjoying himself more than he should.
"I DID IT! AFTER YEARS, I FINALLY MANAGED TO TAKE THE PERFECT PHOTO OF MY WIFE BLUSHING LIKE WHEN WE WERE KIDS." Moxxie shouted while holding his hellphone with the picture of Loona's face, which was not only in shock with her mouth wide open but also completely red.
Loona took a deep breath, letting go of her initial urge to attack her husband or snatch the hellphone from his hands. Instead, she decided to maintain her composure, but not without planning her revenge.
"You know that the moment we get back home, you'll be spending a week sleeping in the doghouse," Loona said, her tone unenthusiastic, but she knew her husband was too happy to be bothered.
"Doesn't matter, it was worth it. After all, I have you. And this photo will be etched in our memories forever," Moxxie smiled, aware of how much he disliked sleeping in the doghouse when he misbehaved. But claiming that it was worth it only fueled Loona's irritation.
"Stupid, adorable imp. I can't stay mad at him for long," Loona muttered, her gaze fixed on him with an irritated expression. "You're an idiot, you know that?"
"Oh, absolutely... But I'm your idiot," Moxxie replied, taking her hand and pointing to her wedding ring. "Forever and always."
Moxxie continued to kiss her hand and arm, and Loona tried to ignore it, but deep down, she couldn't help but enjoy the romantic gesture that had always been a part of their relationship.
Meanwhile, Vaggie watched from a distance, accompanied by her girlfriend. She couldn't help but comment.
"These two, I don't know how they manage to stay together," Vaggie remarked, turning her head towards Charlie, who had her hands covering her face and couldn't contain her joy at witnessing the couple's sweetness.
"Oh, Vaggie, I wish it were us. To have such a beautiful romance," Charlie said, taking out her own hellphone and capturing a photo of their son and daughter-in-law.
And Vaggie, smiling, decided to play along.
"Wow, Charlie, I didn't know you wanted to sleep in the doghouse. Maybe if we ask Alastor, he can even help us build one..."
"THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT, VAGGIE." Charlie blushed in embarrassment and looked at her girlfriend, who chuckled at the cuteness of the pride princess. "I meant to say that even after decades, we still have that fire, that romance... and being in love like Loona and Moxxie."
Vaggie remained silent, but upon noticing how the two of them truly acted, she couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah, it would be wonderful to have a love that lasts that long."
