Story Start!

"Master, we've lost control of the ship! We can't get it to turn!"

"The sails are useless, the winds are changing too quickly!"

"Master, a whirlpool is forming very close by!"

Zero to Shit in minutes, that was the situation they were currently dealing with as everything went horribly wrong for absolutely no reason. Nothing they did caused any of this on them, the ocean and sky just darkened. A tornado came from the sky, and touched down on the water that started to sink even lower and lower into the ocean.

A giant whirlpool was forming.

Teeth.

In the middle of the whirlpool, Naruto could see teeth were spreading apart. There was a mouth right at the center of the whirlpool that was creating it. As the storm clouds gathered in the sky, it started to rain all over the ship. The ship that they had lost control over, because Anne and Mary together couldn't move the steering wheel of the ship with their combined strength.

"Put up the sails!"

"Shuten, lower the sails!" Naruto shouted out as he looked over at the side of the ship. Beni had abandoned the kitchen and joined the efforts on the main deck. She flew up to the sail and started to tie them up. She did what he asked Shuten to do, and Naruto just grabbed onto the rail of the ship and stared out into the middle of the whirlpool.

A roar.

"Grroooooooooooooooooooo."

Almost everyone covered their ears at the massive, deep, and reverberating sound that rang through the air. Atalanta joined him as she reached the railing, and she stared out at the changing tides with her eyes wide.

She dropped to her knees.

"... We've doomed."

"Atalanta, what is that. This isn't a time to be sitting down, stand up!" Naruto grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back to her feet. She had a completely hopeless look on her face as she stared at the mouth at the center of the whirlpool. A mouth large enough to swallow 10 of their ships whole in a single bite. It was a huge mouth with endless rows of teeth, and a huge row of giant teeth at the front.

Atalanta was speakless, but she gripped the railing and grit her teeth.

Anne and Mary let go of the steering wheel of the ship when they glanced at the center of the whirlpool, and they saw what they were dealing with. Atalanta remained silent, unable to answer his order.

"... Charybdis... we've been caught in the in-escapable whirlpool of Charybdis." Anne gained exactly the same hopeless look on her face as Atalanta. The entire whirlpool had formed, and they were caught in it. They were riding the swirling tide that would eventually lead them right down to the center of the whirlpool. The tornado entered the mouth of the creature at the center, and in a short matter of time, they would join it.

Mary took out her pipe and lit up a smoke.

"... We're all going to die. Anne... it was short, but happy to see you again." Mary sat down against the railing, and Anne joined her. She lit up a cigar of her own, and laid down with her head in Mary's lap.

They gave up.

Melusine hadn't.

"Master, Ishtar, Beni, and I can fly. We can take you, the Grail, and another 2 servants off the boat. We can escape." Melusine grabbed his sleeve, joining him at the railing. Naruto looked at everyone looking hopeless, or in Shuten's gaze serene as she stared into the face of death.

He felt hopeless.

He felt all of his hope and desire drain from his body, even though he had a way to escape. Without a ship, without his full servant crew, he was destined to lose the war. The ship was picking up a lot of speed, and completing loops to the center faster than before.

"Drink up." Shuten raised a cup and poured herself more saki.

"... Once you've been caught by Charybdis... there is no escape. Last time, we had the held of the gods to get us passed this challenge... and Jason was there to lead the crew." Atalanta could remember the last time she had seen this challenge before, but back then she hadn't actually been caught by the whirlpool.

Everyone was losing hope.

Naruto slapped Atalanta across the cheek.

"Atalanta, get yourself together! Anne, Mary! Get ropes! We're not going down without a fight!" Naruto shouted as he rushed to the steering wheel and grabbed it.

When everyone was giving up hope, it made him hopeless.

"Master... that creature is legendary, an ocean goddess... we can't..."

"I am your Master... I am your Captain, OBEY ME!" Naruto grabbed Anne by her top and yanked her to her feet. Her cigar fell from her mouth, and Naruto grabbed onto Mary and yanked her right to her feet as well. "Get the ropes and Atalanta, and toss them up to Beni! BENI!"

"Master!"

"When they toss you the ropes, tie them to the sail's boom! Tie it to the right side!" Naruto ordered Beni. "Van Gogh! You help me! We're turning the ship!" Naruto shouted.

"Yes!"

"Ishtar and Melusine, be prepared to follow my orders!" Naruto watched Anne and Mary come up to the main deck again with rope. They tossed it up to Beni, who did her job and tied it to the ship's boom. Atalanta looked hopeless still as she looked at the whirlpool's center that drew them in ever closer. The ship was now leaving to an extent they could easily slide off of the ship.

Ishtar floated up to him.

"What do you need."

"Push the side of the ship. Go to the front end of the ship, and push on the side with all your strength. Melusine, do the same thing, but do it to the middle of the ship!" Naruto's voice was barely loud enough to be heard over the sea goddess and her groaning breaths. The storm got more intense the closer to the center they got.

Lightning struck the tornado in the center.

"We won't escape, but if Master doesn't give up... we shouldn't either. We'll die a pointless death." Anne grabbed onto the rope when Beni tossed the end back down to her and Mary. The two of them grabbed onto it and looked towards Naruto. Melusine and Ishtar flew over the side of the ship and hovered above the water.

They placed their hands on the boat and pushed, but it did little.

"Hhrrrrr." Van Gogh grit her teeth and tried to change the direction of the steering wheel with Naruto.

Shuten raised a cup up.

"Ehehehe."

"Tamamo! Help Anne and Mary! PULL!" Naruto called out to his ancestor and ordered her. She joined the pirate duo and grabbed onto the rope. Beni grabbed onto the mast when the boom changed directions under her slightly. "Beni! Release the sails again!" Naruto demanded.

Shuten watched the show happen.

They were almost at the center.

A tooth from the sea goddess scraped the side of their boat and cut into the wood, without piercing all the way through. Their next rotation would have them slam dead on into the tooth though. The sails were released back down, and they caught the wind once more. His Rider and Caster were both almost pulled off of their feet as the boom tried to correct itself.

The steering wheel started to turn.

Atalanta watched as they spun around the whirlpool again, and they rapidly approached the tooth that had just scraped their boat. The tooth they would crash right into this time. Atalanta closed her eyes and took her final breath.

...

"Huh?" She opened her eyes when they didn't crash.

"Roooo!" Naruto roared at the top of his lungs, and Atalanta rushed to the back of the ship. They had passed by the tooth without hitting it, and she looked at Naruto.

"Master! We can't hold this for long!" Anne called out to Naruto.

"HOLD IT!"

"We can't!"

"HOLD IT!" Naruto wasn't accepting that answer. They would soon be forced to let go of the rope. Ishtar and Melusine were struggling to push the boat, their faces and hands pushed right up against the side of the ship.

Naruto had a hand on his shoulder.

He glanced to his side.

"Master... give me your orders." Atalanta requested.

"Help them control the boom!"

"On it!" Atalanta jumped across the ship and landed next to Tamamo. Just as they were about to let go of the rope. She grabbed onto it with them and eased their burden, all 4 of the women pulling on the rope with all of their strength. A bolt of lightning spun around the tornado, and struck the bow of the ship.

"Van Gogh, put out the fire!" Naruto told his Foreigner.

"But Master."

"Do it! I'll handle this." Naruto assured her.

"AHAHAHA!" Shuten was having the time of her life. She stood on the boom, facing towards Charybdis, and poured her sake out over the side of the ship and into the beast's mouth. She looked towards Naruto, and then at everyone else who were struggling. "Boy, lets see if you can fix this problem. Can you lead a group out of the jaws of death." Shuten wasn't going to help.

She wanted to see where how Naruto could play this out.

It was too amusing for her.

"PULL!" Anne and Mary called out to Tamamo and Atalanta.

"PUSH!" Ishtar and Melusine chanted as they pushed on the ship. Van Gogh put out the fire on the ship with her paint, before she rushed back to help Naruto steer the ship. She slipped though slid down the deck, hitting the railing.

"Beni, rope!"

"ROPE!" Beni flew over to Naruto with rope that was tied to the boom. Naruto tied it to the bottom of the steering wheel, before he tied it to himself. Van Gogh was struggling to keep her hold on the ship.

He jumped before she slipped.

When she did slip, Naruto grabbed onto her ankle with one hand, and the rope holding him with his other. He dangled off the side of the ship, and used the rope to keep pulling on the steering wheel, preventing them from changing their course.

They were further away from the tooth when they made another pass.

Then further away again.

Naruto got Gogh back onto the ship, and they used the rope to steady themselves back to the steering wheel. When they got back, he cut the rope and grabbed the wheel with Gogh. The whirlpool got more intense, and everything got harder to control.

"She's about to blow! Charybdis sucks in everything, and then spits it right back out!"

"Hold just a little longer!" Naruto saw the mouth close and the tornado stop. There was a rumbling sound that filled the air.

Charybdis spat.

They were caught in the explosion of water that sent the ship flying up through the air, up high above the surface of the water.

"Brace yourselves!"

They hit the water outside of the whirlpool, as the whirlpool started to calm down behind them. Ocean water splashed all across the boat, soaking everyone on board with salted water. Melusine and Ishtar flew back to the main deck once they started to sail further away from the whirlpool behind them.

Atalanta pulled herself to her feet.

She rushed to the back of the ship and looked at the sinking whirlpool behind them, her eyes widening. She wasn't the only one, Anne and Mary joined her and looked at the sea goddess they managed to escape. The sky started to brighten up, the ocean became lighter as well, and the whirlpool behind them vanished completely.

"A good show." Shuten finished off her sake. "A very good show..."

"We did it... we escaped the impossible to escape... we beat the whirlpool of Charybdis." Atalanta wasn't even able to smile.

She was floored, and she wasn't the only person who was floored by the realization of what they managed to do. The pirate duo looked towards the wheel of the ship, and saw Van Gogh was laying on the wood gasping for breath. Naruto was still holding onto the wheel, having refused to let go of it at any time.

They stared at his back.

"I'm your Master... and because I'm your Master... never give up. No matter what, I will always do my best for you... so put your faith in me." Naruto was exhausted, mentally and physically, but he refused to stop standing.

"Aye aye." Anne just whispered beneath her breath, and Mary looked at Naruto's back with a sparkle to her eyes.

They did the impossible.

The escaped from the mouth of Charybdis.

"That's my Master." Tamamo was panting, but got to her feet with a smile.

"Why didn't you help?" Beni asked Shuten, standing next to her with a frown.

Shuten smiled.

"... Ehehe... I wanted to see how he struggled, and how he managed to lead under stress. The boy... is quite something. When faced when sure defeat, he was able to show how clever he really was... the true measure of a human... is how they react moments from death." Shuten was pleased with what she sat. She poured herself another cup of sake, and started drinking all over again. She raised her cup to Naruto. "... and now... what will you show me next time." Shuten drained the entire cup in one go.

She had the most interesting Master.
