Ch.1
A three weeks old Infant was left alone to starve to death in a dead-end alley. Humans ignored its cries as the commotion of the day roared beyond the alley. The blue-eyed babe with distinctive whisker birthmarks on its cheeks sobbed and wailed for a mother it did not possess. It was from this helpless pink-skinned creature that a malevolent red aura bubbled forth from. Specifically, a complex seal mark under the pink blankets swaddling the baby.
The bubbling, malicious aura crept forth and took shape, roughly into that of a fox with the tendril-like tail connected to the baby's tummy even through the blanket. This entity terrified the child and it wailed louder until the figure muffled it with the tail. "Be silent, brat! It is bad enough I am trapped within you, but now your so-called caretakers have abandoned you, I by extension, to die in this garbage-filled pit!" The fox-like red entity snarled and glared in the street's direction.
It seethed impotently, wishing to wreak vengeance upon these mortals, but now, contained as it was within the body of a newborn, it would have to commit entirely to the survival of its vessel for the foreseeable future. Still the crying persisted, so it decided to remedy it in one of the few ways it understood from observing the animal kingdom. Loathe as it was to do so, it focused entirely on its Chakra Materialization to form as physical an avatar as feasible.
This form took the shape of a normal, if fairly big, fox. Specifically, a vixen. One with her teats bloated with milk. Withholding her disgust, the vixen moved to stand astride the baby's head with a teat at its lips. The crying abated and soon, the beast was grimacing at the sensation of her milk being suckled by the babe.
"Eat child. Your crying annoys me." The entity huffed. Taking a genuinely physical form, let alone an actual gender was strange, but necessary for the survival of the infant and herself. The blasted seal would kill her if the infant died, if she read the seal right. To ensure her own survival until she found a way to free herself and rejoin the other half of her soul, she was stuck caring for this human kit. Once the baby was sated for the moment, she would then seek shelter.
She inwardly cursed the seal entrapping nearly all of her power within the baby, because hiding was her only recourse right now. That is, if the brat would finish drinking. "How much do you need?" She muttered to herself, wondering how a creature so small could imbibe so much. Her milk was real, but she was doing direct chakra-to-mass conversion, which was woefully inefficient and might even exhaust her if this takes too long.
After several minutes, the infant finished suckling and the vixen strained herself, increasing her size to a large breed of fox. Big enough to be a medium-sized dog, so that she could use her teeth to pick up the brat's dirty pink swaddling. The weakened entity bolted from the alley, finding the street dark as she scurried with the dozing babe in the shadows of what is clearly an active redlight district. Just because she avoided humans didn't make her ignorant.
Any of these human structures would work for shelter, but since they were already inhabited, it was too risky. They wanted the infant dead, her by extension. Sure she may return in a decade or two, but thanks to the yellow-haired human sealing half of her in the Shinigami, it could be that she would entirely end up in the death god's belly. A fate she wished to avoid.
Her next consideration was the massive, beautiful forest surrounding this city. However, while for a beast that would be fine, humans were notoriously and paradoxically fragile things when they were also, frustratingly, capable of fantastical, unexpected actions. Like sealing her in a newborn. Anyway, the baby would get sick in the wild, the forest was a desperate choice. Then again, she was rather desperate…perhaps if no other alternatives present themselves.
Perhaps the best choice would be someplace high, abandoned, in the village. Somewhere the humans wouldn't look for a newborn. She found a quiet balcony, having jumped into the middling stratums of the buildings to avoid foot traffic and meditated briefly to extend her senses. Her hearing warned her about the searching ninjas on the rooftops, same for the police on the ground. Were they looking for her host? Well, fat chance of letting them find her.
Not when the orphanage the baby was entrusted to literally dumped the…what gender is this brat anyway? Uh…girl. Dumped this girl in a fucking dumpster not even an hour after the child was delivered into their care. The vixen then carefully avoided the search patrols to get on top of a water tower, hiding in the windbreak and she was grateful the baby was asleep, so she could risk putting her down and peeking out to scan visually.
This area of the village was densely populated, likely due to the nearby district seeming to have been destroyed. Ah! She must have been the culprit for that, she could see her paw prints. However, that made no sense. She would have run given the first opportunity, why did she rampage? Damn it, it must be from her Yin and Yang being split and some other…no, wait. She knew! The impression of Red Eyes with swirling tomoe. That bastard Madara got her again!
Indignation filled her at falling for the same trick twice, but this time she had the excuse of just having emerged from her vessel, Kushina, while she had been in labor with this very brat she was now bound to in her place. She sighed to relieve her building fury. Her wrath was impotent right now, she needed to keep a clear head. That said, she took the babe and descended from the water tower to seek the standing ruins within the destruction.
She found an abandoned, structurally sound apartment building that had every window blown out. There were no lights and water leaked from the pipes under the earth all around the building. It seemed one of her tails had grazed it, which might explain why the humans left it alone. She could feel remnants of her chakra in the walls seeping in from the ruins outside.
At least the humans would stay away from it for a while. Her chakra was paradoxically corrosive and restorative, normal living things would instinctively give it a wide berth. The baby, on the other hand, would be empowered from being steeped in her chakra both within and without. The chakra should linger for a few years before it's weak enough for them to repair the area.
She climbed the external stairs of the building to the top floor, which was the fourth floor. There she came upon the room she had sought out. It was at the very top of the structure, lending to it being harder to get to by the bugs that didn't use chakra. It was exposed to those that could leap with chakra, but they could reach almost anywhere.
She entered through the broken window of the corner section furthest from the inhabited city. It was full of strange contraptions humans use to make their lives easier. None of it was of concern right now, she'd figure out what to do with them in time. She explored the modest place and found a bed that wasn't touched by damp since the shutters prevented the window from shattering and letting in the rain. She finally set the baby down and sighed in relief.
Shelter handled, now she should see about acquiring food. While she could directly convert chakra to mass to make her milk, it was far less taxing to consume food to process into milk. However, that thought was put on hold after detaching her tail from her host and the moment she stepped on a shard of glass, she hissed in unexpected pain. As a living chakra construct, pain and other sensations were an alien thing to her.
"Ouch! Arg! This body is so weak! Even if I 'die' all I will lose is a proxy body. The chakra I used would just retreat to the seal, but it would take days to repair this form." She growled as she glared at the offending glass that had cut her paw. The wound had already healed, but the new sensation was not welcome. This was not safe for the baby. She then promptly began work, using her tail as a broom to sweep up the debris in the abode so if the tyke took to crawling…
Yeah, no sharp objects around the baby. Once the floor had been cleared and the mess was brushed out onto the catwalk entryway, she closed the door again and locked it. A minor deterrent, but every one was potential time between the baby and danger. If only the brat's parents didn't die! The demon fox closed her eyes in lament. Kushina and her had a strained relationship, but better than the one she had with Mito.
Her mate was the one to reseal her, the memory of the sealing was quite vivid compared to the empty gap between Kushina's seal breaking and the Shinigami severing her soul in half. While the demoness was the clear common component of their deaths, they were already dying. Kushina was weak from childbirth and having her ripped out of the woman was the death knell. That fool Minato sacrificed his own life to reseal her. Damn gluttonous pig, that Shinigami.
So, even if she wasn't sealed within…what was the brat's name? Kushina said if she had a son, she would concede to Minato's desire to name him Naruto. She couldn't remember what or if they named her, but calling the brat, well, brat, wasn't going to cut it down the road. Naru then. She neurotically checked on the sleeping baby.
How long would it sleep? Was sleeping at this age good for babies? Humans aren't like animals. After a while, she noticed the infant begin to shiver from the cold night and the vixen panicked. Why was she shivering? How could she make it warmer? Why hadn't she been cold before? Was the demoness hot enough to keep her warm?
At those thoughts, the vixen closed the door to stop the draft since this room had a shuttered window. Then she burrowed under the blankets to make a space and then she carefully moved the baby to the cover of the blanket burrow. With the baby settled in, the vixen finally relaxed and lied down next to the sleeping baby. Not up against it, she wasn't sure it was wise to get the babe too hot, even if she was hardier than any normal human thanks to her chakra.
She then closed her eyes to sleep, because this avatar was exhausted and needed rest. She knew her ears would pick up any intruders and drifted off.

The vixen awoke to wailing as she sleepily looked out of the fabric burrow she had made. It was still night, her mind told her she had only slept for two hours. What was wailing? Why was she sleeping? Why was she a female? She was normally genderless and used male pronouns. Eep! Something latched onto her teats! Looking at her belly in shock, she saw the baby she was leashed to. Right, Naru, her sudden unwanted kit.
She shivered as she willed her body to make more milk. She felt even more tired after that. The chakra she could push through the babe's seal was small, barely enough to make this body, let alone constantly using chakra to make milk. She needed food and water. The vixen would need to lower herself to act like a mortal so the baby and her would live.
"Ugh, eat up and sleep. This room should be warm enough from my chakra to keep you from freezing. I need to eat and drink so I can keep feeding you." She mumbled to the infant, even if she knew the not-even-a-month-old wouldn't understand a word from her mouth.
For once, she wished one of her brothers or sisters were here, if only so she had extra hands. She didn't have the chakra right now for a clone of herself to watch the baby. This body she made to keep the infant alive could go across the world, but would die if the baby died. The small threads of chakra making it up were spent on its structure faster than she could push them through. This body was not an opportunity for escape, just a means of survival.
Once the baby was finished, the vixen uncurled from her and heard the baby's discomfort. She licked the infant's face to try and quiet her before turning to leave in order to hunt. She needed nourishment as much as the baby, but she couldn't have the baby alerting the village to its location. She didn't need to die because of infantile screaming.
The demon leaped out of the shattered window she had entered from and went to the roof to scout the village to get an idea of what prey she could find. At this time of night, what looked abundant were felines and scavenger animals. Cats were too alert to catch off guard. She should target a scavenger. Ah, there, a raccoon. Nasty glands in them, but still, it was food.
She leaped down to a nearly-toppled light post, then dropped to the street before she took the quickest route to the mammal she had spotted before slowing. The beast could smell the thing more clearly now and while she would rather not eat it, she needed the calories. She needed food so she could make milk and there aren't any convenient fruits or veggies growing within the city. This horrid body, that horrid seal, these horrid humans.
Stalking around the human streets as she tracked the animal, she noticed several of those masked humans continuing patrols on the rooftops. She paid them no mind as she inched her way to the dumpster. She could smell the scavenger sifting through it. She quickly jumped to the rim of the garbage bin and with swiftness she had gained from many hunts she had done for fun centuries ago, the demon pounced.
It was not a quiet kill, she was sure the loud barks of the human-bonded dogs were a tell, but she did not care. She only wanted meat and she had it. Now she needed to retreat to her den to eat her kill. One of the masked men watched her run off, but she did not mind it more than any other human that watched animals. But she did take note of this man's dog mask and silver hair that stuck up like a broom head.
She felt it. That cursed gaze which so many in this city possess. He must have the Sharingan. She acted casual, continuing on her way, avoiding open areas and direct lines of sight, like an actual fox would do. She needed to be cautious, he seemed perceptive, which could be bad for her. Thankfully, after a few moments the man looked away and ran off to the face mountain.
With no eyes directly upon her, she snorted before rushing back to the den, stopping a few doors away to eat her kill. The damn scent glands were as rancid as she remembered, but It filled her nicely and she could already feel this body become more stable. She needed water next, but first she needed to check the infant. She could hear it begin to sniffle.
She entered through the window again and discovered the baby smelled wretched. The infant had fouled itself in the bundle! She growled about the horrible mortal bodies and their need for sustenance and waste. She needed that cloth to help keep the infant warm, now it was foul and unusable. The babe would chafe if it was left on it. She might be able to clean it with chakra.
The vixen tugged the bundle off the baby, scrunching her nose at the foul tan sludge that stuck to it and the baby's rear. Oh, of all the things for her great power to be used on. "You had best appreciate this." She hissed at the whimpering messy child before her chakra bubbled forth from the babe's belly. The baby whined at the stinging sensation, but the demoness just held her still as the corrosive chakra ate away the mess, bundle and footed onesie, only to restore it all.
Besides the mess, that is. "Good thing I can do that directly since it's already on you. Shush, I am going to get myself water now." The vixen licked up the delicious tears of the baby, who giggled and grabbed at her face. An odd feeling welled within her chest before she pulled away and scurried out of the mostly intact building to find some water.
She went to the base of the building and found one of the tubes leaking water. She sniffed it and wrinkled her snout at the foul smell of excrement. That water was contaminated, not useful. The vixen went to a smaller tube of flowing water and smelled it, finding it smelling fresh. Large tube foul, small tube fresh. Then again, the humans need some way to dispose of their waste.
She lapped at the water as it spilled from the tube and even got under the pour to refresh herself with the cold water. With her belly filled the demoness felt her body calm and began to settle into a state of contentment. Such a state pleased the vixen as it almost felt like her true body, if weaker and with achy teats filled to the brim with milk.
She whined as she pawed her swollen teats before rushing back to the infant to let it give her relief. The vixen then started to wonder how much of her constructed body was acting of her own will or acting on instincts of the animal her father emulated her after.
"I hope my teats don't feel this full all the time." she whimpered once she leaped into the den again, rushing to the babe. "Maybe I shouldn't make my body constantly create milk as fast as it can." Voracious or not, it was just one baby. She could cut down on the production.
The red demon fox crawled into her burrow next to the infant, hoping it would eat, but it was asleep. She whimpered as looked from the babe to her teats before settling down to try and sleep. She'd get relief in the morning, she was sure.
Fox=
She awoke to the infant suckling at her teats, making the vixen groan in relief and lick the babe's head. She let Naru get her fill as she thought on what she would do now. Her belly was empty, she needed to eat and drink, but the baby needed clothes so she could get cleaned up better without having to have it all burned away and replaced.
The vixen frowned as she thought of the issues she had with this babe. She needed to make sure it was fed with milk. She needed to make sure it didn't become ill. She needed to make sure it was safe from the elements. She needed to make sure it was safe from others. She needed to make sure it didn't hurt itself.
All these were one big problem. She couldn't make more than one body. She couldn't use her thumbs. She couldn't hunt without leaving the babe vulnerable. She could barely fight off the humans even if she stayed.
"This body is too weak. Nor is it human. If I looked the part I could get food the way humans do." She groused before the babe stopped suckling and blinked at her. "I need to get mass and chakra, much more for this body. If the seal was weaker, I could just force the change, but this is not a solution I have available to me right now."
The vixen grumbled as she contemplated how much she would need. At least the mass of a normal human. Maybe if she ate a cow? Could she get a cow? With feeding the infant, burning calories to move, hunt and clean the den, she would need to hunt prey like that raccoon for two months. If she got larger, maybe two weeks.
The vixen huffed before she went out in search of food. Going out into the city during the day was much harder than it should have been. Once she was out of the ruins and weaving between the alleys and crowds, the vixen spotted some freshly tossed food from someplace that smelled delicious. It was some form of bread and had slight mold on it. Mold was nothing her proxy could not handle, so she began eating from the sack and-.
"Fox!" Some random human screamed before the whole street turned towards her. The demon froze for a second before a kunai stabbed the ground in front of her and she bolted. She swerved into a trashcan before she righted herself and ran as fast as her legs could carry her as ninjas and normal humans tossed stuff at her or made grabs for her.
The demoness did her best to dodge and weave through the human's attempts to kill her before she got to the ruins with her prize. Her pursuers stopped on the edge of the damage as she ducked into a crevice to devour the bread she had snagged as quickly as she could before running off for another part of the village for more food.
The demon spent most of her morning like that. Snatch food, run from humans, run back to ruins. She was tired once she felt safe enough to reach her den. She entered it to find the babe sniffling before the girl spotted the demon.
The vixen chuffed when she climbed into the burrow past the babe. She dragged her in so the girl could feed. The infant latched onto her teat and drank as the demon sighed and thought of the pests outside her den.
Going out during the day was dangerous for her body with all these humans wanting to kill her. She was actually the target of their ire, but she looked and played the part of a common fox. Why would these humans wish to kill a common fox, were they killing the foxes in the woods?
She felt guilty for the foxes that were obviously dying because of her actions. The demoness didn't feel guilty for her actions, but she felt guilty for human idiocy that she caused. Her feral counterparts were being wiped out because she made humans even more stupid.
"Great, well, if I meet a fox that survives in the next few months, I'll see how it fared." She grumbled before the baby started wiggling and grabbing at her paws. "Your grip is strong."
The vixen yawned before settling in for a nap before she would have to go out for more food. She could already see her routine for the next month. Hunt, drink, feed before cleaning the infant. The demon was going to suffer for sins not her own.
