Luke woke up with a start. He quickly sat up.
Hey, slow down. He heard a voice say.
What? Luke mumbled squinting from the bright lights.
Luke? The voice said. Luke tried to look around but a splitting pain stopped him. He grimaced grinding his teeth together.
Careful. The person said. You got pretty banged up. Luke was starting to recognize the voice.
Han? He said his vision still off.
Yeah it's me. Han replied.
Han! Luke tried to sit up but a hand on his shoulder stopped him.
Woah, slow down. Your in no condition to get up.
I'm fine. Luke said.
Yeah sure you are. Han said stepping back. Luke was starting to be able to see. He realized he was in a small room equiped with a bed, which he was laying on, a chair and a small table.
Where are we? He questioned rubbing his forehead as a migraine took over.
Instead of answering Han asked, Do you remember what happened?
What? Luke asked still slightly disoriented.
What's the last thing you remember?
Uh, we were headed to that planet, and um someone was chasing us?
Yeah. Han said. Anything else?
Something happened. Something bad, but I can't remember what.
Han sighed. I was hoping I wouldn't have to explain.
Explain what? Luke asked suspiciously.
Look out the window kid. Han said.
Luke frowned but turned to look out the window, his eyes widened when instead of the ship he saw space.
What? Where's the ship?! He yelled trying to get up.
No! Han yelled grabbing him and forcing him back down.
Where is it?! Where's Leia?!
Take a breath. Han said.
Tell me!
I will just take a breath first.
Luke glared at him but did. now tell me!
Han sighed sitting down on the chair. The ship that was following us blew up our ship, the ship was exploding and I saw you unconscious, you were the only one I saw. I managed to drag you into this escape pod. I don't know what happened to Leia I couldn't find her and I had no time, but I can only assume, Han paused taking a deep breath fighting off tears, he would deal with his emotions later, right now he needed to focus on Luke. that she's dead. He finished speaking.
Luke stared at him blankly. No. He finally said after a few minutes. She can't be dead. Luke tried to reach her threw the force but found he couldn't. No. He said again. What about Chewie?
Same thing. Han said looking down at his hands.
No! Luke yelled trying once more to stand.
Stay sitting! Han yelled grabbing his shoulder again.
Don't touch me! Luke yelled.
I'll let you go if you stay seated!
I will!
Han let him go. Luke let his head drop into his hands.
No, no, no, Luke started repeating the word.
Hey! Han interrupted him. Breath! Luke shook his head his hands snaking into his hair and pulling hard. Luke! Han yelled grabbing his hands and trying to pull them away from his hair. You're already hurt! Don't do that! Han was suddenly pushed back, he hit the wall and blacked out.
A few minutes later he woke up. He slowly sat up. His eyes widened as he saw small items floating around the room, his blaster, a piece of paper, a pen and some medical supplies. Luke? Han questioned standing up, a dizzy spell washed over him and he leaned against the table for a moment. Once his head cleared he slowly approached Luke who had somehow gotten off the bed and was in the corner.
Luke? Han crouched infront of him. Luke slowly looked up at him from where his face had been buried in his knees. All the items suddenly dropped making a loud noise in the small room. Han winced.
Your pretty banged up Luke, you should lie down. Han said. Luke stared blankly ahead.
No. He whispered.
Luke. Han said reaching for him. I know it's really hard but we need to take care of you so you don't die too.
I'm not hurt. Luke said.
Yes you are.
I'm not in pain.
That's the adrenaline, trust me kid, in a few minutes when you calm down you're going to wish you were on the bed. Han replied.
Luke shook his head curling into himself more.
Luke, come on. Han said.
No. Go away.
I can't go away Luke, we're stuck in here. Luke turned his face away from Han.
Han sighed. Get on the bed, I need to treat you.
Fine! Luke snapped trying to stand up. Han grabbed his arm and helped him stand and get on the bed. Han cringed at Luke's injury's. Han started rummaging threw the medical supplies.
What's wrong with me? Luke asked.
You were in the explosion.
and you weren't?
I wasn't where it hit. Han explained.
How hurt am I? Luke asked his eyes distant.
Your heads pretty banged up your hands twisted weirdly, most likely broken,
fake. Luke interrupted him holding up his hand. Han stared at Luke in horror.
What do you mean fake? He asked.
Luke gave him a confused look. I lost it remember?
No, you're talking nonsense. Luke's eyes widened slightly.
I forgot you weren't there. He said staring at Han.
Where? What happened? Han asked concerned.
After you were frozen in carbonite I was fighting Vader and he cut my hand off. Luke explained.
And you never bothered to tell me? Han asked sounding alarmed.
I Don't really like talking about it. Luke said staring at the ceiling.
Right. Han said deciding to drop it for now. Anyway, your legs also pretty bad, it's bleeding a lot. And I think you have some broken ribs. Luke once more looked zoned out. Han sighed. He found a cloth in the supplies and got it damp with a water bottle. He started cleaning the blood off Luke's face. Luke winced at the cold, his hand flew up to try to stop Han.
No. Han said guiding his hand back down. He continued to clean Luke's face.
Luke's eyes drifted to the window. There's no one left.
What? Han asks focusing on Luke's injuries.
We're alone.
Han glanced out the window. yeah kid, we are.
Does anyone know where we are?
No, but someone will come. Han assured Luke, But he didn't sound convinced.
