Saiyans of Earthland
The sound of birds singing, and villagers bustling woke Kaen from his slumber. His head hurt like he was hungover, but his body ached like he just ran a marathon with a 750lbs pack on his back for three days straight, without a single break. Opening his eyes, Kaen looked up to see the underside of Mina's chest, as it shielded him from the sunlight. The motion of his head managed to catch Mina's attention, and she looked down at him with a gentle smile.
"Afternoon sleepyhead. You sure slept for quite a while."
"Mina?" Kaen asked. "What are you doing here?"
"I came with Erza. Natsu explained to me what's been going on, and what's been happening with you and Eri. I'm so relieved I got here in time to keep the ritual transformation you went through from being permanent." Mina said.
"Eri." Kaen said, shoot up into a sitting position. "Do you know where she is, how is she?"
"Relax babe." Mina said, pulling him in for a hug. "Eri's fine, Natsu pulled her out from the rubble, and gave her a Senzu Bean. She's in the other tent with Erza and the others. The two you beat to a bloody pulp last night are hanging in there, and are currently locked in a pit with a steel cage preventing their escape, with the pink haired girl Lucy defeated last night with them."
"Good." Kaen sighed in relief. "Seeing Eri get harmed like that… it just triggered something within me."
"I can understand honey." Mina stated. "Thankfully, I remembered the lullaby your mom used when you were a kid, and I happen to use it for Eri as well, when she has nightmares."
"I'm just glad she's okay." Kaen hissed, feeling immense pain as he got to his feet.
"Easy, Natsu gave Eri the last Senzu Bean that was in the bag, and I can't seem to access my Duplication Void for some strange reason to pull out more." Mina said. "My flying technique's been locked away as well."
"Not surprising." Kaen sighed. "This island was inhabited by Saiyans once. An' the ritual Lyon's doing, is one made by Saiyans. The side affects seem to include nullifying some aspects of our abilities, such as the flying technique."
"But what would a ritual like that even be used for?" Mina asked.
"I don't know, and I'm not leaving the island until I do." Kaen stated. "Come on, let's get to the tent Erza's in."
"She's in a bit of a fowl mood." Mina said, following Kaen out of the tent.
"Where are we?" Kaen asked, noticing they weren't in the village.
"We're in the village's evacuation storage area. Their homes might not have been destroyed, but they thought it best to come here for the time being in case Lyon tries sending another attempt at their lives." Mina said.
"Smart." Kaen said. "Which way to the tent Erza's in?"
"This way."
Leading Kaen to the tent, the Saiyan teen could sense there was a large aura of anger from within, overshadowing several of fear. Once he entered, he wasn't even phased when he saw Erza sitting on a crate like a throne, with Lucy, Happy, and Grey tied up and on their knees, while Eri just sat in the corner, sleeping away, not even aware of Erza's hateful aura filling the tent.
"You made me wait. Not smart." Erza said, her hands holding the hilt of her weapon tightly, the blade piercing the ground.
"An' a good morning to you to." Kaen said. "Where's Natsu?"
"He went up the mountain last night, back to the temple. Or so Mina says." Erza said. "We are going to retrieve him, and then leave."
"Sorry, but that's not an option for me." Kaen said. "These people are suffering, because of something Saiyans did when they came to Earthland over four hundred years ago. An' I'm not leaving until I resolve this."
"I've been brought up to speed on the situation, by Mina after Natsu brought her up to speed. I understand you feel like you have an obligation but…"
"If you've been brought up to speed, then you should understand, that the Master gave me special permission to finish this quest, should I be unable to return with the others." Kaen stated. "I'm sorry Erza, but I'm gonna finish the mission, and I'll send Natsu back to you when I find him."
"You are in no condition to be continuing this mission." Erza said.
"That doesn't matter." Kaen said. "I am a proud Saiyan Warrior, and the son of a great hero. I am not gonna back down, just because I'm injured."
Turning back and exiting the tent, Kaen stepped past Mina, and her face was filled with concern and confusion.
"This doesn't make any sense." Mina said.
"Don't worry, we'll bring him back by force if needed." Erza said.
"No, not that." Mina stated. "Kaen's mom is a doctor at a hospital, and his dad is All Might's secretary. An' while being a doctor is a title of hero in its own sense, that use of the word is practically outdated, so why would he say he's the son of a great hero?"
~Temple Throne Room~
Lyon sat on his throne, thinking over everything that had happened the last couple nights. Not only had his plans for resurrecting Deliora been delayed, but all three of his minions had been defeated and captured, by two Fairy Tail weaklings. What's more, when he left Grey to die, his former sibling student went missing, and is now nowhere to be seen, which means he's still alive. However, there was some good news that seemed to make all his anger wash away, as a man dressed in robes with a tribal mask stepped up to the throne.
"Speak Zalty." Lyon said.
"My Cold Emperor, the Moon Drip ceremony tonight will be the one we've all been waiting for." Zalty explained.
"Deliora shall rise again tonight, then I can show the world that I have surpassed Ur's level of power." Lyon smiled manically.
"However, we have to keep an eye on those Wizards. Should they interrupt the Moon Drip Ceremony again, then I'm afraid Deliora shall forever remain entombed in ice." Zalty stated. "Salamander, Titania, and that Saiyan, are quite powerful. Any one of them, could easily foil our plans."
"As always, you seem remarkably well informed." Lyon said. "No mind, I can't say I'm worried. Those fools may be strong, but they're no match for me."
"I was hoping you'd say that, so it's very reassuring to hear." Zalty said. "But still, allow me the honor of joining you in battle, for old times sake."
"You're a Wizard?" Lyon asked raising a brow.
"Yes. It's been a while since I've used it, but I've dabbled in a particular form of lost magic." Zalty said.
"I don't see why not. We could use another Wizard." Lyon said.
However, the mood had been soured as a rumbling shook through the temple, and the room began to shift and slant in one direction.
"What's going on?" Lyon questioned. "An' earthquake? No, this is not nature made destruction, and the Island isn't close to any fault lines."
Before Zalty could speak, a pillar of fire burst through the floor, with the echoing cry of rage.
"What is the meaning of this?" Lyon asked, getting up from his throne.
"I should have known, Salamander would make the first move." Zalty said, looking down the pit. "It appears we have a visitor sir."
Looking down the hole, Lyon and Zalty saw Natsu at the bottom, where the pillar of flames sprouted from.
"You know, I usually end up breaking stuff on accident. It's kinda funny how hard it is when doing it on purpose." Natsu stated.
"What are you doing here?" Lyon questioned.
"I'm knocking this place over." Natsu exclaimed. "Then you won't be able to shine moon light on that demon you've got underground."
"Insolent fool. Just who do you think you are?" Lyon questioned, a vein bulging on his forehead. "You dare challenge me?"
"After what you did to Kaen, and Eri? Hell yeah I challenge you." Natsu growled, flamed igniting from under his shoes. "So you gonna fight me, or what?"
"Flames shoot from his feet?" Lyon asked.
Natsu let out a cry of rage as he flew up, and slammed his head into Lyon's stomach, and slammed him against the ceiling of the temple room, before falling back to the ground. Landing on his feet, Natsu just glared at Lyon as he rolled from his fall, and hit the wall, before he shattered into millions of tiny pieces.
"The hell? An ice dummy?" Natsu questioned.
"Ice Make: Eagle!" Lyon cried out, sending the attack at Natsu from behind.
Moving fast, the fire Wizard used his flames to dodged the attack, before sending an attack of flames from his feet towards Lyon, to which the ice mage ducked down and evaded the fire.
"What kind of ridiculous magic is this?" Lyon questioned.
"Fire Dragon: ROAR." Natsu chanted as he let out the roar while still on his hands. Unfortunately, Zalty stepped in and used his magic to age the stone beneath him to create a hole, and stop Natsu's attack short.
"Very fortunate Cold Emperor. Luck is on your side." Zalty said.
"What did you do?" Lyon questioned.
"Whatever do you mean?"
"Don't play dumb, your magic had to have caused that hole in the floor." Lyon stated.
"Don't you have ever the watchful eye." Zalty smiled. "Please allow me to explain my actions sir. You're the only one strong enough to defeat Deliora, so it's imperative you remain safe until its…"
Zalty stopped talking as a figure came up from behind Lyon and hit him with a hook to the head, sending him flying into one of the walls.
"Where did you come from?" Zalty questioned, as Kaen rotated his shoulder.
"Damn, Mina was right. I am banged up pretty bad. An' this burn isn't much help, either." Kaen sighed. "Oh well, no pain no gain."
"Who the hell, do you think you are to just assault me like that?" Lyon questioned, picking himself up.
"That's rich, coming from the man who tried to murder my daughter." Kaen growled.
"I show no mercy to anyone, who interferes with my plans." Lyon said. "Once I resurrect Deliora, I will prove I am stronger then Ur."
"Yeah about that…" Kaen said, before he was instantly in Lyon's bubble, and slammed his knee into the ice mage's sternum. "I can't allow you to resurrect a demon as dangerous as Deliora. Plus, I have to take you in. You're gonna face judgement for the crimes you've committed, including attempting to revive one of Zeref's Demons."
"One of… No, there's no way Deliora's… one of Zeref's." Lyon gasped as he backed away from Kaen.
"It's true I'm afraid." Kaen said. "But it gets worse."
"How the hell can it get worse?" Lyon questioned, before Kaen hit him with an axe kick to the shoulder.
"I took a look at the hieroglyphics on the walls of the temple when I got here. An' this temple holds a secret, that you would believe, even if I translated them, right in front of you." Kaen stated.
"Is this, secret, how you were able to gain this force to overpower one as strong as I?" Lyon questioned, struggling to pick himself up.
"Not even close." Kaen stated, stomping on Lyon's back. "The secret I found, relates to the Saiyans, who made this island, their home, when they arrived on Earthland, a few hundred years, before The Black Wizard Zeref's time."
"You lie." Lyon growled, as he fell back to the ground, before it began to shake. "What's going on, is this your doing?"
"No, this isn't me." Kaen said, before he covered his ears, as a monstrous roar echoed out through the air. "Ah, my ears."
"That roar… it's Deliora." Lyon smiled insanely. "He's finally awakened, and we didn't have to wait until the nightfall ceremony to awaken him."
"Not good." Kaen hissed, before the roar ended.
~Mountainside~
Outside the temple, Grey, Lucy, Mina, and Erza were busy with their own fight, battling the worshipers who were responsible for causing the moon drip to fall from the night sky. However, their fight was put on pause, when the roar echoed through the air, and threatened to burst their ear drums.
"What was that?" Lucy questioned.
"Not good." Grey said, his eyes widening in horror.
"What do you mean not good?" Erza questioned.
"What could have been able to make that sound?"
"That was Deliora's roar." Grey stated, memories of his childhood trauma coming to the forefront of his mind. "He's awakened, and it doesn't sound like he's any weaker then he should be."
"This definitely isn't good. If that big monster is awake now, then we're all doomed." Lucy said, recalling how huge that demon was.
"Maybe not." Mina said. "Kaen's at the temple. He might not have his flying ability, but he still has his speed and strength."
"But will it be enough to defeat Deliora?" Erza asked. "He's still weakened from battle."
"We can only hope and pray it will be." Grey said. "Otherwise… I'm gonna have to do the same thing my Master did, and seal Deliora away. It's not a solid plan, but if worst come to worst, then I'll have to clean up this mess Lyon made, with Iced Shell."
~Natsu~
"The hell was that? My ears feel like they're gonna burst." Natsu exclaimed as the roar ended.
"Natsu."
The Fire Mage looked up to see Kaen, hauling Lyon on his shoulder, and running towards him.
"Kaen, what are you doing here? You're too badly hurt."
"I know, but I don't have time to delay. Take Lyon, and get out of here. Deliora's been awakened." Kaen stated.
"He what?" Natsu asked, taking Lyon from the Saiyan.
"He's been revived. Your plan was smart, but it was in vein as something must have accelerated the ritual to free him." Kaen said.
"But what about you?"
"This is a Saiyan problem, so as a Saiyan, I have an obligation to fix the mess my people made." Kaen exclaimed.
"But what about your abilities? You still can't fly, and your body's barely holding together as is." Natsu stated.
"I'll make it work somehow, but I have to do this alone." Kaen stated.
"Aw, no fair man. Come on, you're hogging all the fun to yourself." Natsu complained.
"Natsu, just do as I say, and get the fuck out of here." Kaen hissed, his voice reverberating with a primal growl.
"Yes sir." Natsu said, running out of Kaen's sight.
"Now then Deliora." Kaen said, cracking his knuckles as he went to the hole created in the floor, the last time they were in the temple. "Let's see, what you're made of."
~Mountainside~
"Grey no, there has to be another way." Erza stated.
"She's right." Mina said. "Never underestimate a Saiyan's pride. Kaen will win this, and he'll do so without anyone having to sacrifice themselves."
"Uh guys…" Lucy said. "I hate to interrupt your attempts at talking Grey out of suicide via Iced Shell, but… does the temple look crooked to you?"
The others looked to Lucy, and then to the temple, before they tilted their heads to align it with a view of the temple.
"Huh… this is my first time seeing it, so I don't know." Mina said.
"Same." Erza added.
"It looks crooked to me, almost like it's lost half its support pillars." Grey said.
"That must have been either Natsu, or Kaen, attempting to keep the spell from being used. If the temple is off center like this, then the ritual is useless. Though I guess that plan was a bust to begin with." Lucy said.
"Probably Kaen, Natsu's too stupid to think of something like that." Grey pointed out.
"Hey, you guys." Natsu called to them, running towards their group.
"Speak of the devil." Mina said.
"Looks like he's got Lyon with him as well." Grey said, noticing his unconscious sibling student being carried by the fire breather.
"It's rather shocking. In terms of elemental properties, Lyon had the advantage over Natsu." Lucy said.
"Guys, hey." Natsu said, stopping in front of them. "Deliora… he's awake… Kaen's fighting him on his own."
"We kinda figured." Grey said. "How'd you beat Lyon?"
"I didn't." Natsu said, dropping the unconscious Ice Mage on the ground. "I think Kaen did. I just took him, before Kaen instructed me to leave. He said that he had to take care of a mess his people made."
"Well that certainly explains how Lyon was bested." Lucy said.
"We should probably head back to the village." Mina stated. "It would be best if we didn't get in Kaen's way."
"Agreed, if this truly is a Saiyan Matter, then we should stay out of it." Erza said. "Alright everyone, we're heading back to the village. Natsu, pick that man up again, and bring him with us."
"Roger that." Natsu said, before he noticed it. "ERZA? YOU'RE HERE ON THE ISLAND?"
"Who do you think came here with me?" Mina asked.
"Typical Natsu. He's got lava for brains." Grey stated.
~Kaen~
All was quiet within the tunnels, as Kaen made his way through, towards the chamber where he had seen Deliora the other day. When he got there, he could sense the chilling mist of the destroyed Iced Shell, as the demon had managed to free himself. Looking through the chamber, Kaen stepped closer to the cliffside, leading to the chamber bellow that the magic made glacier had been located, the last time he was there, and inside he saw something, or rather someone he wasn't expecting to see, raising from a three point stance.
Standing there, on the mass of ice that remained of the Iced Shell, was a well built muscular man, with a dark blue armor like shell on his body, covering him to what Kaen thought was similar to something an ancient Spartan would wear, making the human sized demon, look akin to his monstrously gigantic counterpart, that had been there moments ago. His torso was large, with well defined muscles, and two large arms that end in scaly claws, with razor sharp blades on the outsides of his forearms, and spikes on his shoulders, resembling the shoulder pads he'd seen on Celerons Frieza Force armor. In addition, his feet resembled that of a Pterodactyls, with additional razor sharp spines on the back of the calves. The Saiyan Demon's hair resembled a lions mane in shape, as it flowed down to the nape of his neck. On his head, he has a pair of horns that went along the length of his head, and pointed upwards, jutting from a plate on his forehead, while his teeth were large and pointed, accompanied by two hollow eyes, shining blood red with power.
"Ah, it's so good to finally be free of that cursed prison." Deliora said. "I didn't expect that icy entrapment, to be quite so strong."
"Hey." Kaen called out to him. "Deliora, up here."
The Demonized Saiyan looked up to Kaen, before the Saiyan teen stepped back, as the elder Saiyan jumped up to the ledge, and landed on the ground, causing it to crack.
"Oh, a fellow Saiyan." Deliora said, spotting Kaen's tail. "What a surprise. I take it you're a descendant of those who stayed on Galuna Island?"
"Not even close." Kaen said. "I'm a Saiyan from off world."
"Oh, I see. What can I do for you? An' make it snappy, I have a world to ravage." Deliora stated.
"I'm here to stop you from continuing your rampage on this world." Kaen stated.
"Ah, I see." Deliora said. "You might be new to the planet, but you follow the same philosophies as the weaklings, I was ashamed to call my parents."
"Your parents were descendants of the peaceful faction of the Saiyans that caused the civil war, ending in Sadala's destruction. You're desecrating their memories, and spitting in the face of what they believed in." Kaen stated.
"You mean, that nonsense of living in harmony with the universe? We Saiyans are conquerors of planets, and this planet, is ripe for the taking, with all the Ethernano in the atmosphere." Deliora stated, creating a ball of Ki in his hand.
"That energy." Kaen said, noticing how the Ki was black and violet.
"You noticed. I've been enhanced with the power of Curse. Unlike magic, this doesn't rely on Ethernano. It relies on the power my body produces." Deliora smirked. "Scared?"
"No." Kaen stated, gritting his teeth, as a ring of fire formed around his feet, and began spiraling upwards in a pillar of dancing ribbons. "I'm pissed."
Kaen lunged at Deliora, and landed his fist to the Demonic Saiyan's face. The impact created a shockwave, but Kaen's eyes widened, when he saw that Deliora had only turned his head, with the momentum of the strike, before he opened his eye, and looked annoyed as he directed his gaze down at Kaen.
"Alright, little fly." Deliora said, grabbing Kaen's wrist, causing him to flinch as he could feel it being crushed, as he fell to one knee. "We'll play your game, just for a little bit."
(Cue Music… Into the Dark: Divide Music)
Deliora pulled his fist back, and slammed it into Kaen's chest, sending the Saiyan Mage flying upwards, and through the stone wall of the caverns, and the temple. Gasping as he found himself in the air, Kaen was barely able to register anything happening to him, as Deliora was suddenly above him, and struck him with something, like a baseball bat, that sent him to the ground bellow, right in the path of the group, who were making their way back to the village, when Kaen suddenly blocked their path, as he fell to the ground like a meteor.
"The hell was that?" Grey questioned.
"Run." Kaen managed to cough, as he picked himself up.
The dust cleared, and everyone either gasped, or stared in horror as Kaen stood there, clutching tight to the stump that was previously where his left arm was, at the shoulder with blood gushing out of it.
"Kaen, your arm." Mina said, her eyes filled with horror.
"I said RUN." Kaen exclaimed, before grabbing his shield, and extending it, before he threw it over their heads, deflecting a Ki blast that had been aimed for them.
Deliora landed on the ground behind the group of mages, and smirked at Kaen as the teen caught his shield, after it ricocheted back to him. Grey was at his side, putting ice over the opening of the missing limb.
"Well, it seems we have an audience." Deliora stated.
"Kaen who is that?" Lucy questioned.
"No time to explain, just run back to the village and don't look back." Kaen growled, lunging at Deliora, shield up as it clashed with the Demonic Saiyans claws.
"You just don't know when to quit, do you brat?" Deliora questioned, pushing against Kaen's shield. "One arm missing, and you're still fighting. Can't say your pride is weak at least."
"I will never, let you win Deliora." Kaen exclaimed, pushing back against Deliora.
"Deliora?" Grey questioned, stepping back as his eyes widened in horror, and disbelief.
"Hmm?" Deliora was curious as he and Kaen separated, before he spotted Grey. "Oh…" He said, as memories flooded his mind. "You're the brat who challenged me, the day I was encased in that accursed Iced Shell."
"You… you remember me?" Grey questioned.
"Oh, my dear boy. I don't only remember you…" Deliora stated, before his eyes glowed brighter with power. "I loath you. It's because of you, that your master entrapped me in that wretched spell. I've spent every single day of my imprisonment, thinking of how I could get my revenge on you once I got free. This is just too perfect."
"You really are Deliora." Grey said.
"HEY." Kaen shouted, his shield, and the blade of it cutting Deliora's cheek as it bounced off his face. "Your fight's here with me Demon. Leave Grey out of this."
"Oh? You wanna take me on, with just one arm? I'm not too sure you're capable of that at the moment. But I'd be more then happy to oblige. Why don't I get rid of the trash first?"
Deliora raised his hand, and with a Ki blast aimed for the group, fired at them, enveloping the Mages with a sinister smirk on his face.
"NO!" Kaen shouted.
As the smoke cleared, Kaen sighed as there was a pitfall on the ground, meaning one thing could have happened right before they were hit.
"Thank you Virgo." Lucy said, as they were all atop of the maid spirit.
"My pleasure Princess." Virgo stated.
"What?" Deliora questioned.
"Deliora." Kaen growled.
Deliora's eyes widened, when he felt Kaen's power rising, and saw him standing there, shield on his back, with his remaining arm pulled back, with the palm facing down.
"You just tried to kill my friends, and wife." Kaen said, his face contorted in rage. "I will not let that slide."
"Wait, that stance." Mina said, recognizing the stance as she was the first to pop out of the pit.
"Ka-me…"
"No, he isn't." Mina gasped, her eyes widening in astonishment as the Ki built up in Kaen's remaining hand.
"Ha-me…"
"You wretched little pest, you're nothing compared to me, or my power." Deliora glared. 'Why can't I move? It's as if my body's frozen in fear.'
"HAAAAAAAA!" Kaen shouted, thrusting his arm forward, and sending the attack at the Demonic Saiyan.
(End Song…)
"GAAHH!" Deliora cried out, as the attack enveloped him, in a blinding flash of light.
When the light from the attack died down, Kaen was seen, standing there with his arm stretched out, before he dropped it, and fell back gasping as he was out of energy, and began to fall back.
"I got ya." Natsu said, catching Kaen. "Gotta say, that was kinda impressive what you did. Fighting a Demon while missing an arm, I doubt even I could do something like that."
"Thanks Natsu, but you think we could perhaps save the praise for… after I get some… medical treatment? I'm feeling kinda… woozy from bloodloss." Kaen said.
"Oh, right. Come on guys, we gotta book it back to the village." Natsu said, instantly running back through the path.
~Village Medical Hut~
"So… Deliora, used to be a Saiyan?" Mina asked, feeding Kaen some water as he sat in the bed of the medical hut, his torso and stump wrapped in bandages.
"He was." Kaen affirmed.
"What could have turned him into such a monster?" Grey asked.
"Zeref." Kaen said. "Deliora was like most of the previous generation of before his time, during the civil war on Sadala. Believing that Saiyans were meant to rule the universe, instead of co-existing with other races within it. The Saiyans that came to Earthland, were peaceful beings, wanting co-existence, rather then genocide. But they were Saiyans after all, and once Deliora's bloodshed began to show, he caught the attention of Zeref right away."
"Interesting." Erza said. "Does that have any connection to the island?"
"It does actually." Kaen sighed. "I learned from the Saiyago inscribed within the temple, that it was constructed as a place of worship, for those who worshiped Beerus the Destroyer."
"Sounds like another crazy cult for a mythological deity to me." Lucy said.
"I assure you Lucy, Lord Beerus is real, and he's the strongest, in the universe." Kaen said, pulling Eri in for a hug as she climbed onto the bed. "He's an actual deity."
"Scary." Lucy said.
"Lucy's all slimy again." Happy said.
"It's sweat."
"So what happened to the temple though?" Natsu asked.
"When Zeref first appeared on the island, he turned the temple into a place of ritual, and he used the bodies of dead Saiyans for his experiments, after first prepping them with the Moon Drip ceremony." Kaen stated. "Meaning every one of his creations is, or rather was, a Demonized Saiyan."
"Was?" Mina asked.
"There's no telling how many of them are still around. It could be all of them, or it could only be Deliora." Kaen said. "What you saw, of him today, that's his true form."
"But… didn't you destroy him?" Grey asked.
"No. With my arm missing, I wasn't strong enough to destroy him, I merely injured him as I sent him flying to the other side of the planet." Kaen stated.
"Only I can defeat that demon."
Everyone turned to see Lyon was awake, and was conscious with a sick smile on his face, as he raised his head to look directly at Kaen, as the Saiyan teen sat right across from him in the medical, tied up with his three minions.
"I'm the only one strong enough to beat Deliora. I'll find him, and I'll surpass Ur's legacy and defeat the one opponent she never could." Lyon smirked.
"You're delusional." Mina hissed with anger.
"Mina, let it go." Kaen said.
"What? But Kaen he…"
"If he wants to go on a suicide mission, then who are we to stop him?" Kaen questioned. "He thinks he's strong enough, to fight a Demonic Saiyan, even after losing to me, and I'm far, far weaker then Deliora. But by all means, I'm sure that kick to the face I did to knock him out, was little more then a gentle breeze of wind." The Saiyan said mockingly.
"Watch your tongue, monkey." Yuka said.
"How about you watch yours, before I pour acid down your throat, see how you like it when someone tries melting you." Mina glared, grabbing Yuka's cheeks, and holding up her hand, letting acid spill from it.
"Enough stalling. Tell us how to undo the curse Lyon." Grey said. "These villagers are suffering, and it's your fault. The Moon Drip ritual was designs for bringing ones inner demon to the surface, so tell us how to undo it."
"How should I know?" Lyon questioned. "I don't know anything about this curse."
"Let me at him." Natsu growled, flames surrounding his fist.
"Listen to me, I've been exposed to the Moon Drip, just as long as these villagers have. An' I have yet to suffer any adverse side effects that they've been exhibiting." Lyon stated. "Same goes for these three, and those who were following me and actually performing the ceremony. So what should that tell you, about the villagers of this island?"
"I'm gonna kill you if you don't give us a straight answer, right now." Natsu stated.
"Natsu, it's not worth it." Kaen groaned, turning in bed and planting his feet on the ground.
"Kaen, what are you doing? You can't be out of be yet." Mina said.
"C'mon I think I know what to do."
~Outside in the Village~
"Ah, so you're up and about again." Moka said, spotting Kaen, as they stepped out of the medical hut, seeing the moon was out. "I am thankful to you for saving our village."
"It was no problem." Kaen said.
"However, when are you Wizards gonna destroy the moon?" Moka inquired.
"That's a simple enough task." Kaen stated.
"Huh?" The others questioned, their eyes bugging out at him.
"You can really do that?" Natsu questioned.
"However, there is something I'd like to ask about and confirm with you first." Kaen stated. "Please, gather everyone here."
"Of course." Moka said.
After gathering the rest of the villagers, Kaen began addressing them.
"Alright, let's get a few things straight. From what I understand, this curse started afflicting you, after the moon turned purple right?" Kaen questioned.
"Yes, that's correct." One of the villagers said.
"To be precise, it is when the moon is out, that we become what you see us as now." Moka clarified.
"To surmise, it first happened three years ago then?" Erza asked.
"I think that's when it happened."
"Yeah, sounds about right to me."
"So for three years now, this island has been undergoing the Moon Drip Ceremony. That means you should have been seeing a beam of light heading straight for the ruins, so then… Kyaa!" Erza cried out, falling into Eri's tiger pit.
"Erza screamed." Natsu stated.
"Yeah, and it was kind of cute to." Grey added.
"In other words, something very suspicious was on the island, correct?" Kaen asked as Mina and Eri helped pull Erza out of the pit.
"I suppose." One of the villagers said.
"Then why didn't you investigate?" Kaen inquired.
"The reason is… there's an old legend in this village, concerning those ruins." Moka said as the other villagers murmured amongst themselves.
"But that shouldn't have stopped you from going to the ruins to investigate things yourselves, in this case." Mina said. "There were people dying, and you went so far as to contact the guilds."
"We would like to hear the truth now. If not, we will be leaving without fixing this mess." Kaen stated.
Moka was silent for a moment, before he relented and spoke the truth about why they couldn't investigate.
"To be perfectly honest with you, we don't really know ourselves." Moka started. "Every time we tried going up to investigate, we always found ourselves right back at the entrance to the village. We tried numerous times, but the outcome was always the same."
"What… what do you mean? You couldn't get near them?" Lucy asked.
"We went right up inside them, nothing weird stopping us either." Natsu added.
"We knew you'd never believe it, and that's why we didn't mention it."
"But it's true! We tried going there a countless number of times. But none of us could get there, not one villager."
"I see. So I think I know what's going on now." Kaen said, heading for the scaffolding by the wall for the guards. "Mind if I use this?"
"Uh… I suppose not." Moka said, not really knowing what else to do when asked that question.
"Thank you." Kaen smiled, hopping up to the top.
"Kaen… you aren't really able, to destroy the moon, are you?" Lucy asked.
"We'll see in a sec." Kaen smiled, taking the stance for his signature attack. "You might wanna stand back a bit though."
"Be careful babe." Mina called to her husband.
Stepping back from the scaffolding, they all watched in aw, as Kaen charged up his attack for the second time that day, as the moon shined down upon them. Thankfully, one of the side effects of the Moon Drip affecting Saiyans, was all together nullifying the Oozaru transformation process.
"Ka-me-ha-me-HAAAAAAA!" Kaen cried out, performing another one arms Kamehameha Wave.
The Ki attack fired like a rocket from his hand, and shot up straight for the air. Before long though, Kaen's attack made contact, and the others all gasped in shock as they saw the attack, hit the moon.
Pressing forward, and putting more Ki into the attack, Kaen let out a battle cry as cracks began forming across the surface of the moon.
"He really did it." Lucy shouted in shock.
"He's stronger than I thought." Grey said, equally in shock.
As Kaen continued to push with his attack, the cracks in the lunar body spread throughout the entire moon, and beyond, into the sky.
"He broke the sky to." Happy shouted.
With a final push of Kaen's power, the cracks in the sky widened before the sound of glass shattering was heard, and the moon went back to how it looked several years ago. Before Kaen's attack could actually hit the moon, and he'd be susceptible to the Oozaru transformation, Kaen powered down and looked away, with Mina doing the same thing.
"What? But I don't understand." Lucy said in shock.
"The moon wasn't actually purple." Erza stated. "The moon drip had created a crystalline cover over the entire island that made the moon look cursed at night, and the sun look normal during the day."
"Mainly because, it could only be visible at night, due to the moonlight being not as strong as the sunlight." Kaen said, hopping down from the scaffolding, his eyes still shut.
"But wait, why aren't the villagers changing back?" Lucy asked.
"Well, that's obvious." Kaen smiled. "They were never cursed. They just suffered from partial amnesia, thinking they were originally humans who were cursed."
"W-wait then that means…" Lucy stated.
"We're in a village of Demons." Lucy, Happy, Grey shouted.
"My guess is, their ancestors managed to come here from the Demon Realm, and made a life for themselves here in Earthland, living peacefully alongside the Saiyans inhabiting the island with them." Kaen said. "That's why Deliora could go to the ruins, but these guys couldn't."
"Because Deliora was originally a Saiyan, and these guys were natural born demons." Mina said, picking up what Kaen was putting down. "An' it would seem the memory distortion only affects demons, since Lyon and his goons were all okay."
"Heh-heh. Took the island long enough to be lifted of that." Someone said, coming out of the shadows. "Fairy Tail, I thank you."
Everyone turned to look at the person who had spoken, and saw it was Bobo.
"Bobo?" Moka asked in shock.
"Hiya pops. It's me."
"We thought you were dead." Another villager stated.
"A knife to the heart hurt like hell, but it's gonna take a lot more than that to kill a demon like me."
"But we saw you vanish on the boat." Grey stated.
In a flash, Bobo was no longer visible, but his shadow fell upon them all. Looking up, they saw Bobo flying in the air, on a pair of demonic wings.
"I'm sorry I had to maroon you all on the island. I just wasn't sure if you'd change your minds or not." Bobo explained. "Plus I couldn't tell you the whole story, so I had to trick you into thinking I was a ghost. My memories weren't all that touched by the Moon Drip, but when I got away from the island, I knew I couldn't return until the problem had been solved."
"BOBO." Moka cheered, flying up to him.
"You're memory is finally back pops." Bobo smiled, embracing his dad in a hug.
"We need a festival. A demon festival." One of the villagers declared as they all danced in the air, celebrating Bobo's return.
"I have a feeling it's gonna be scary, this festival." Lucy said.
"Aye." Happy said.
~Elsewhere~
"Curse that… that damned brat." Deliora hissed, as he leaned against the cavern wall, and used cursed arts to heal his injuries, as he slowly regenerated from them. "It's not enough that I took his arm, but he had to take my own arm and leg as well. His pride as a Saiyan certainly is strong, I'll give him that, but once I am back to my full strength I will make him…"
"You'll do what, Deliora?"
The Demon of Destruction froze, when he heard that voice, and looking over he saw the shadowed form of one predator, standing at the entrance to the cavern.
"A-Acnologia." Deliora gulped, pushing himself to his foot and leaning against the wall.
"I could have sword, I just heard you mention a Saiyan." Acnologia said, stepping into the cavern. "An' you tore off his arm."
"I… I did." Deliora said.
"An' he still managed to do this much damage to you?" Acnologia questioned.
"Yes, he did this to me." Deliora said.
"Kaen's certainly gotten stronger." Acnologia stated. "So I'd best do the same."
Deliora's eyes widened in fear, as Acnologia glared right at him, and licked his lips.
"No, Acnologia no you can't." Deliora said. "From one Saiyan to another you can't do this to me."
"I lost my Saiyan Pride four hundred years ago." Acnologia declared as his body began to grown and change. "I'm nothing but a Dragon now."
"No, please you can't do this to me." Deliora pleaded as the shadow of a monstrous beast blanketed the walls and floor of the cavern, right before Acnologia's body blotted out the light entirely. "NO!"
