Saiyans of Earthland
Things were quiet, and solemn in the Magnolia Hospital. Fairy Tail's medical room, wasn't equipped to handle the injuries all four members had sustained, as Levy, Jet, Droy, and Mina laid comatose in the beds. Thankfully, Eri hadn't seen them yet, and was currently with Mira at Fairy Hills.
"Mina, Jet, Droy, Levy." Lucy said sadly. "They sure can do some awful things, these Phantom Lord Wizards. I can't believe I even considered them as my back up plan, if I couldn't get into Fairy Tail. This is unforgivable. They're unforgiveable."
The door opened, and rushing in came Eri, a panicked look on her face, as she rushed to Mina's bed.
"Mama." Eri cried, grabbing Mina's sheets. "Mama, please wake up, Mama."
"Hey, you can't be in here little girl." One of the nurses said, rushing in after her.
"It's fine." Lucy said, stopping the nurse. "This is Eri, she's Mina's daughter. Let her stay, I'll watch over her."
The nurse looked to Lucy, before back to Eri. Taking a moment to think it over, she left, while leaving Eri in Lucy's care.
"Mama, please Mama, please." Eri said, on the brink of tears, when Mina wouldn't wake up.
"Eri." Lucy said, pulling the child back from the bed, and into her arms. "What are you doing here? Where's Mira?"
"We were in the market, and I snuck away to come here. I wanted to see Mama, but she wouldn't let me." Eri cried, as she turned around, and buried her face into Lucy's chest.
"Hey, it's okay Eri, it's okay." Lucy said, rubbing her back comfortingly. "Mina's gonna wake up. She just needs her rest, right now, okay?"
"But… where's Papa?" Eri asked. "Where'd he go?"
"He went after those who did this." Lucy said, as the scene slowly faded from the hospital, to the inside of the Phantom Lord Guild Hall, where their members were laughing, drinking, and all around having a good time. "He'll make sure they pay for what they did, to Fairy Tail."
"Dah-hah. That was the best." One of the Phantom Lord members laughed.
"The Fairy Ass building is no more. It's in pieces."
"Gajeel did it. But not only that, he took four of them down."
"By the way, who was 'those two' that Master Jose was talking about?"
"Who knows?"
"He said those two can't be touched."
"Who cares? I say cheers to the pain those fairies are feeling."
"I'll bet their little wings are shivering in terror right now."
"What's say we go and take care a few of those pesky flies ourselves?"
"Sounds like a plan. But who?"
"Let's take down their newest member, I heard he's a beast, but that's pretty weak, I'm mean we're talking about Fairy Tail's standards here."
As the trio of Phantom Goons made their way to leave and hunt down Fairy Tail, the doors burst open from the outside, completely destroyed with part of the wall, and building up a cloud of dust, drawing the entire guild's attention to the commotion.
"You ready Phantom Assholes?" Kaen questioned, stepping through the dust, and dispersing it with his Ki, showing the entire Fairy Tail Guild was behind him. "Because Fairy Tail has come knocking."
The silence didn't last for long, as the Phantom Goons all readied themselves for a fight, as Kaen reached behind his back, and grabbed his weapons.
~Flashback~
"What? You want me to duplicate your shield? Why?" Mina questioned, rubbing Eri's head as she slept on the older girl's lap, feeling a bit sea sick.
"I want to try something different for my fighting style, but in order to do that, I need at least one more retractable shield like the one I currently have." Kaen said, holding up the rounded bottom triangle. "But since we're no where near I-Island, your Duplication Void is gonna be the solution."
"Makes sense I guess. But can this wait until we get back to the mainland at Hargeon? I wanna make sure we're far enough away from Galuna, for my Duplication Void to actually work." Mina smiled.
~End Flashback~
'I haven't had a chance to practice this. But it should be fine.' Kaen thought as the Phantom Goons were getting closer.
Pulling his arms forward, Kaen held them up, deflecting several projectile magic attacks sent at him, with the two collapsed shields on his forearms, before he swung them forward, and used the air pressure to send the Phantom Goons flying back.
"Wind Magic?" One of them questioned.
"No. There wasn't a magic circle. All he did was swing his arms forward. That wind pressure was caused by nothing but pure…"
Kaen slammed his fist into the ground as he took a three point stance, with One-for-All coursing through him, as the ground began to shake, destabilizing the Guild Hall, and those in it. With the advantage on their side, Fairy Tail went charging in, ready to avenge their fallen comrades.
Lunging from his crouched position, the rest of the Fairy Tail guild moved to make a path for him, as he flew through the building like a jet, no one missing the enraged look etched on his face.
"BLACKSTEEL." Kaen shouted, his sights on the Iron Dragonslayer.
In the back of the guild hall, was the Iron Dragon, standing roughly around as tall as Elfman's shoulders, with long spiky black hair, and piercings all over his arms, and nose, with the Phantom Lord Sigil in black on his right shoulder.
"You? You're with Fairy Tail? So that's why you didn't join Phantom, you wanted to… Whoa." Gajeel cried out, as he was forced to dodge a strike from Kaen. "What's with you? All I did was beat up a few weaklings from your guild."
"He did not just say that about Mina." Cana said, standing back to back with Loki as they fought together.
"He is so dead." Loki said, hitting another of the Phantom Goons.
"You…" Kaen growled, his hair defying gravity as it took on a red tint, and his aura flared up, with a red hue overpowering the white. "One of them, was my wife."
"Oh shit." Gajeel hissed, before Kaen was instantly in his face, and hit the iron pierced slayer, with a backhand strike reinforced by one of his shields, sending him flying.
"Gajeel." One of the Phantom Lord goons called to him, before turning his sights on Kaen. "You bastard, you're gonna pay for that."
"No don't." Gajeel shouted, standing upside down on one of the catwalks, with spikes protruding from the underside of his boots.
His warning came too late however, as the Phantom Goon charging at Kaen was knocked away, with a backhand strike from the Saiyan's opposite arm, with the force of the strike sending him flying through several of the support pillars, and through one of the walls, to the outside.
"Dumbass." Gajeel said, jumping down, and landing in front of Kaen. "Next time I tell ya not to, listen for once you moron. This guy's mine, and mine alone."
"Hold it metal head." Natsu shouted, charging at Gajeel. "You're not getting off that easy, fighting only Kaen."
"Natsu don't." Grey stated, stopping the pyro with a wall of ice.
"The hell Grey?" Natsu questioned.
"Just listen to me." Grey said. "Take a close look at Kaen."
Natsu looked around the wall of ice, and his eyes widened, when he saw the bone mask, from Galuna Island, beginning to form over his face again.
"Holy shit." Natsu said. "He's going berserk, just like with what happened on Galuna."
"If he wanted to, in this state. He could probably take out all of these Phantom Lord Goons who rank under Blacksteel, and the Element 4, all on his own." Grey said. "But right now, he's too enraged, and focused on Blacksteel to even think about anyone else."
"We can't just leave him like this once the fight's over. We have to get him to snap out of it somehow once this is all said and done." Natsu said
"How? From what you told me about the last time this happened, it took Mina singing him a lullaby to get him to…"
Grey was cut short, when Gajeel came crashing through the ice wall, his face a bit bloodied.
"Damn. You're some kind of monster, ain't ya? I never thought you'd have this kind of power inside you monkey boy." Gajeel smirked. "I'm starting to have fun."
~Lucy & Eri~
"I can't believe everyone just… took off without me." Lucy sighed, walking down the street with Eri holding one of her hands, and a bag of groceries in the other. "But, someone needs to look after the others, so I guess it's up to you and me Eri, what do you say?" She said, looking at Eri.
"It's starting to rain, but there aren't any rain clouds." Eri said, as the water began pouring down on them.
"A spring shower?" Lucy asked, before their attention was drawn forward, and they saw a blue haired woman, walking towards them. "Get behind me Eri. Who are you?" She questioned the woman coming towards her.
"Drip-drip-drop." She said. "Juvia is the rain woman. It's always with me."
"She's creepy." Eri said, peeking out from behind Lucy.
"An' what sort of woman are you, pray tell?" Juvia asked.
"I'm just the regular kind." Lucy said.
"Drip-drip-drop." Juvia continued as she walked past Lucy and Eri.
"What's with all the drip dropping?" Lucy asked, before Juvia pulled out an umbrella.
"Pleasure to meet you, I'll be going now." Juvia stated.
"Well take the rain with ya." Lucy said.
"Aunt Lucy." Eri whispered. "She's got powerful magic, and her aura feels all sad. I think she might be one of Phantom's Element4."
"Eri, it's not nice to just…"
"Oh my, what an impressive and clever little girl she is." A voice with a French accent echoed through the air, as someone came out of the ground. "Good afternoon, I bid you both bonjour."
"Great, another weirdo." Lucy said. "Hold on, did you just confirm… what Eri speculated?"
"Juvia, my companion, you mustn't shy away from the task at hand." The man said.
"No, Monsieur Sol." Juvia said.
"My monocle whispers many things to me. It tells me, these two before us are our targets." Sol stated.
"Does it, so they are the two?" Juvia questioned.
"Targets?" Lucy questioned.
"A pardon moi. I have not introduced myself." Sol stated. "I am Sol, of the Element4, also known as Sol of the Earth. But it'd behoove you both to call me Monsieur Sol."
"I've heard of the Element4. You're with Phantom." Lucy exclaimed.
"Very good, that's correct." Sol stated. "We've been sent here to collect you both and bring you back to the guild with us at once."
"We're not going anywhere with you." Lucy declared, dropping her groceries, and grabbing her keys.
Unfortunately, the other two were quick to respond, as Juvia encased them both in a bubble of water.
"Why are you doing this? Let us out of here now."
"Don't waste your energy, my Water Lock spell cannot be broken." Juvia said.
"Shows what you know about Saiyans." Eri declared, a Ki ball forming in her hand, before she hit it against the inside of the bubble, practically breaking it open, before she spread her wings, grabbed Lucy, and flew away.
"My, my." Sol said. "That little girl is as tenacious as her father."
"We were under the impression, she wasn't a Saiyan. Oh well, guess we'll have to resort to something a bit more, drastic." Juvia said. "Water Lock: Imprisonment!"
In the air, another bubble formed around Lucy and Eri, trapping them where they were, before Eri tried the same attack again, but only managed to crack it, before the crack sealed up.
"No way." Eri gasped.
"My Imprisonment, is a stronger variation of my Water Lock spell, though it does take a lot more energy to use. Didn't think I'd need it though." Juvia said, as she brought the two back to them.
Eri just glared at the two Phantoms, before she looked at Lucy as the blonde was passing out from a lack of oxygen. Her gate keys had been in her hand, and they were falling through the water. Acting fast, Eri caught the keys, and stuck them in her Duplication Bag.
"Aw, thinking you can give them to her to escape after she wakes up? I'm afraid that's not gonna be possible." Sol said.
"I'm only keeping them safe. Aquarius would kill Lucy for dropping her key." Eri stated.
"Strange, how are you not passing out from the lack of oxygen yet?" Juvia asked.
"Saiyans can hold their breath for hours underwater." Eri stated. "You'd only be able to get me to pass out, if you held us in here for hours, and that would kill Aunt Lucy, and I assume she's too important for you to kill. You're supposed to bring the both of us back alive, aren't you? Otherwise you're gonna be in big trouble with your guild master."
"A smart little cookie this one, isn't she?" Sol asked. "Very well. Come along Juvia, we have what we came for."
"Of course, Monsieur Sol." Juvia said.
"The master will be quite pleased with what we've done." Sol stated. "But Gajeel, I fear will not be too happy, a child has been involved, even if they are from Fairy Tail."
~Fairy Tail War~
"Concentrate your attacks on their Master." One of the Phantom Goons shouted, as they all charged at Makarov.
Without even moving an inch, Makarov showed now fear towards them, before he suddenly grew into a giant, breaking through several catwalks, and slamming his hand down on the Phantom Goons charging at him.
"He's a monster."
"An' you dared to lay your hands on this monsters children." Makarov growled, his voice filled with rage. "Are you truly foolish enough to believe human law can protect you from my rage."
"He… He's really strong."
"An' his Guild is no joke either."
"They're tearing us apart, and one of them's even got Gajeel on the ropes."
"Jose." Makarov shouted. "Come out, and show yourself, you coward."
"Where are they?" Erza questioned, as the entire building began to shake. "Kaen has Gajeel kept busy, but where are the Element 4?"
With the battle Kaen was in, the Saiyan slammed his fist into Gajeel's face, knocking him to the ground, only for the Iron Dragonslayer to laugh.
"This is getting fun." Gajeel smirked, as Kaen removed his fist, showing Gajeel had covered himself in iron. "C'mon Saiyan. SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT DON'T HOLD BACK."
Kaen just growled and glared at Gajeel, before running straight at him, hitting the iron mage with a strike from his shield, only for Gajeel to bite down on it.
"Thanks for the… wait… is this not iron?" Gajeel questioned, before he was lifted off his feet, and slammed into the ground as Kaen didn't waste a moment to attack.
"No, it's an indestructible metal, that magic bounces right off of." Kaen growled, slamming his foot into Gajeel's stomach. "Thanks for toying with me a bit Blacksteel. You kept me distracted long enough to clear my head and calm down."
"Now that you're calmed down, what's say we stop this fighting? It's not too late for you to join Phantom Lord." Gajeel stated.
"Sorry, but that's not happening." Kaen said, his body reverting back to his normal size.
"Why even be one of these Fairy Tail Weaklings?" Gajeel questioned, forcing himself to his feet. "If you had joined us when I first offered, you could have spared your wife the pain she went through last night."
"She only went through that pain because of you." Kaen exclaimed. "An' your recruitment methods, shouldn't involve trying to beat up the person you're wanting to join your guild."
"Master Jose said, to recruit you through any means necessary." Gajeel smirked. "Can't blame me for doing it my way."
"Can, and will." Kaen stated, retracting his shields back to normal triangles. "Now, if you'll excuse me, you're barely able to stand right now, after I gave you that concussion."
As Kaen walked past Gajeel, the Iron Dragonslayer tried turning around to grab him, but was unable to as he just fell to his side, his head pounding like a drum, and his vision getting dizzy.
"The hell?" Gajeel gasped.
"Master Makarov." Kaen said, flying to their master and landing on his shoulder, as he was still in titan form. "Allow me to join you. I won't just sit back, and let you find Jose on your own."
"Very well." Makarov said. "Let me shrink back down, then fly us up to the top of the guildhall."
Reducing his size back to normal, Kaen grabbed Makarov, and flew straight into the air, the force of takeoff knocking down the guild members who were charging at them for an attack.
Holding his arm up, Kaen used the retracted shield as a battering ram, and broke through multiple catwalks, before he broke through the surface of the top floor of the Phantom Lord Guild Hall, where they found the man sitting in what looked like his throne, with a long purple witches hat, and bat wings sewn into the cloak.
"Jose." Makarov shouted, after Kaen put him down.
"Oh, look what the cat dragged in." Jose smiled.
"Why are you attacking Fairy Tail?" Makarov questioned. "Tell me."
"I haven't seen you in quite a while, Makarov. Six years ago at a Guild Master's conference is when we last saw each other, if I recall correctly. I remember that day. I was a complete mess. I'm a total lightweight and can't hold my liquor as well as the rest of you."
Kaen and Makarov responded with a Ki blast, and throwing a giant fist at Jose, shattering the throne and the wall behind it, while heaving up a cloud of dust.
"We didn't come here for small talk. I want answers, Jose." Makarov growled. The dust cleared to reveal Jose unharmed while his form glitched a bit with the madman laughing. "A projection? You coward. I should have known you'd flee with your tail between your legs."
"It's not cowardice." Jose argued. "I'm simply trying to avoid a fight between two Wizard Saints. In lieu of that mess, I'd prefer a sensible victory, without all the commotion."
"Why are you hiding? Come and face us like a man!" Kaen glared.
At the foot of Jose's projection, the images of an unconscious Lucy, and a struggling, tied up appeared, causing Makarov and Kaen to gasp.
"Papa." Eri cried out, struggling in her bindings.
"Lucy, Eri? But why?" Makarov asked.
"Why you ask? You mean she's a member of your guild, and you don't know?" Jose asked, before looking to Kaen. "As for the child… I want that Saiyan to join Phantom Lord, and using his child's safety as an incentive is just what's needed to bring him to…"
Jose stopped talking, as Kaen stepped up to the projection, and actually managed to grab him by the neck, and lift him off the ground.
"As I thought, your projection is made of magic." Kaen growled. "I will only say this once. If a single hair on either of their heads, is even harmed. I will find every damn branch of Phantom Lord, all over the Kingdom, and I will destroy all of them, while leaving no survivors."
Jose struggled to breathe. He was terrified of what was happening, due to several factors. One, Kaen was able to harm him through his magical projection. Two, the look in the Saiyan teen's eyes told the Phantom Master that he wasn't bluffing. Three, the aura Kaen was giving off, as the gem in his chest had emerged and was shining brightly, gave Jose the impression he was looking right at a beast of immeasurable power. The beast's silhouette reminded Jose, of that of a dragons.
"Now let Lucy and Eri go. Or I swear you're going to regret it." Kaen growled, the teeth on his bone mask growing sharper.
"How… how are you… doing this to me… when I'm not even there?" Jose managed to choke out.
"A little trick I learned, fighting someone with a knack for illusion magic similar to this." Kaen stated, his grip tightening on Jose's neck. "I just covered my body in armor Ki, and attuned it to the frequency of your projection, so I could actually harm you."
Jose didn't respond verbally, rather he and the illusions of Lucy and Eri vanished from sight, leaving Kaen standing there, before he lowered his arm, and clenched his fist. With his rage still burning brightly, Kaen slammed his fist into the wall, destroying the throne room as he'd empowered his strike with One-for-All. Kaen was only brought back to his senses, when he felt a strong magical presence appear behind him, before he twisted around, seeing a large man in green, with bandages over his eyes, and tears flowing from under them, floating there.
"Kaen look out." Makarov shouted.
Before Kaen could even sight back against the Phantom Goon, Makarov pushed him out of the way, and took his place on the receiving end of the spell.
"Master Makarov." Kaen shouted.
"How sad. The Master of Fairy Tail, has given himself up for just one of his children. So sad, and touching at the same time." The man in green said, before Kaen's fist made contact with his face, and sent the man in green flying back and colliding with the far wall.
"I'm going to make you pay." Kaen growled.
Disappearing in a wisp of air, Kaen bounced off the remaining walls of the throne room on the top floor, as the Phantom Mage picked himself up, going from one wall to another. Creating a vortex of air around his assailant, and sucking the wind from his lungs, down to 6%, causing him to pass out.
With the Phantom Goon passed out, Kaen stopped in front of Makarov, and grabbed the green skinned elder, and held him tight in his arms.
"Hang on Master, I'll get you some medical help immediately." Kaen said, before jumping down the hole he made.
Landing on the ground of the main floor, Kaen got to Natsu in an instant just as he cleared off another Phantom Goon.
"Natsu, we've got to go now." Kaen exclaimed.
"What happened to gramps? An' are you still in berserk mode? Your mask hasn't left." Natsu said.
"I've managed to regain my bearings, but the Master is injured. He took a powerful draining spell for me. We have to regroup and come up with a plan immediately." Kaen stated, running off to look for Erza. "Erza."
"Kaen, what's going on?" Erza inquired.
"We need to get going, Master needs help, or he won't make it." Kaen stated.
"Everybody fall back." Erza shouted taking Makarov in her arms. "We need to regroup."
"What? Erza, we can beat them, we've got them on the run." Grey said, before Erza took one of his hands.
"Please Grey, Master is down, and he needs medical attention." Erza begged getting Grey to agree as Kaen went back to talk with Natsu.
"Hey Natsu stick near the Master. I'm gonna get one of these guy's to tell me where their main guildhall is." The Saiyan exclaimed.
"Why?"
"They kidnapped Lucy and Eri, and holding them hostage." Kaen stated.
"Alright. But what are you gonna do once you find them?" Natsu asked.
"I'm gonna get Lucy, and my daughter back, no matter what." Kaen stated grabbing one of the still barely conscious Phantom Mages, and lifting him up by his shirt.
"The hell do you want?" The member questioned, before he went bug eyed, as he saw Kaen's bone masked face.
"Tell me where Phantom's main guildhall is." Kaen stated. "Do it fast enough, and I may spare your miserable life."
~Phantom Tower~
Lucy's eyes opened slowly, her head throbbing as if she had just gotten the worst hangover of her life. She instantly got up on her knees as she noticed a centipede crawling on her, before she notice her arms were tied behind her back, as she realized she wasn't anywhere she recognized. Looking to her side, she saw Eri sitting on her own knees, and biting at the ropes tied around her wrists.
"What the? How did we get here?" Lucy questioned.
"Aunt Lucy." Eri gasped, finally noticing Lucy was awake, before the door to their cell opened and Jose came in, with bruises on his neck, shaped like a hand.
"So you're finally awake. I was getting worried about you Lucy." Jose said, looking right at her.
"Who are you?" Lucy asked, turning to him.
"I'm Master Jose Porla of the Phantom Lord Guild." Jose explained.
"You're Phantom Lords Master?" Lucy shouted before flashes of what had happened came to her. 'That's right. Eri and I were captured by two of the Element4.'
"I'd like to apologize for this dingy cell, and being tied up must be degrading for you. But I'm afraid I had no choice my dear. That is how you treat a prisoner after all." Jose apologized.
"You're the jerks who attacked my friend Levy and Mina." Lucy shouted. "You'd better let me go. My friends are gonna come looking for me."
"I know. I just got the most spine chilling threat from that Saiyan, Gajeel failed to bring to me to join our Guild. But when I found out he had a family I thought, maybe his daughters safety would be the perfect incentive to get him to join, but that backfired completely." Jose said. "Well, so be it. But I have another offer, just for you. Depending on your cooperation, I could treat you as our esteemed guest rather than a lowly prisoner."
"What do you mean?" Lucy asked before another centipede landed on her face from the ceiling. "Ew, yuck it crawled on me." She cried out, before Eri smacked the bug off, and stomped on it with her boot.
"See, you don't want to stay in here do you? I have a lovely penthouse suite waiting for you if you promise to behave." Jose said.
"Why does your guild keep attacking us?" Lucy questioned. "I know Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord have had bad blood since before the Great Guild Wars, but destroying our guildhall is just low."
"Yeah." Eri agreed.
"Who is 'us'? Oh I'm sorry, are you talking about Fairy Tail? It was a means to an end, that's all." Jose smiled.
"What?"
"You see, we were working towards our main objective of acquiring a certain someone. They happen to be a member of Fairy Tail, so if we have to destroy the guild to get ahold of them, so be it." Jose stated.
"Who are you talking about?" Lucy asked.
"Oh, my, my, you're such a naïve young lady. Not at all what I'd expect from a debutante. I'm talking about you of course. Lady Lucy, the privileged daughter of the wealthy Heartfilia Family." Jose explained.
"But… how did you find out about that?" Lucy asked.
"You know, I'm surprised you never told your fellow guild members the truth, and I don't understand why the daughter of a wealthy tycoon would stoop to such cheap and dangerous work, as wizarding for such a low-class guild, do you?" Jose inquired.
"I've been… kidnapped?" Lucy asked, fearing the worst.
"No my dear, I promise it's not like that. We're not looking for ransom money, we're just doing our job. We were hired by your father to bring you home to him." Jose stated.
Lucy gasped at this knowledge. "No. I don't understand. Why would he want me back?"
"Why do you seem so confused? Any father would go looking for a daughter who ran away from home. Take this young child's father for example." Jose smiled, gesturing to Eri, who only growled at him.
"Not him. Honestly I'm shocked he even noticed I was gone. I'm not ever gonna go back to that house! I don't want anything to do with him." Lucy shouted.
"Oh dear. I should have known you'd be problematic." Jose sighed.
"Well, you might as well just let me go."
"I'm sorry, but I can't do that. Even with that Saiyan's threat being as menacing as it was, your father is already paying us more than a king's ransom for this job." Jose exclaimed.
"You're a big meanie." Eri stated. "My Papa's the son of the most powerful hero, on our planet. He's strong, and a single punch from my Papa, can change the weather."
"Now that, is a stretch child." Jose said, before the cell began to shake. "What's going on?"
"JOSE." Kaen's voice echoed through the air.
"Papa." Eri smiled, right before the roof of the cell was torn from the walls, and was lifted by Kaen, revealing the Saiyan flying in the sky, while raising the structures roof over his head, like it was a simple traffic cone.
"Impossible." Jose gasped, as Kaen threw the roof to the ground, and landed in the cell in a three point stance, separating Jose from Eri and Lucy.
"Surprised?" Kaen growled, his eyes glowing red with anger. "Well this ain't even the half of it."
"No, stay back." Jose said, before Kaen was in his face, with the Saiyan's fist buried in the man's torso, causing him to go wide eyed.
"Be lucky my daughter is here." Kaen declared, whispering into Jose's ear. "She's the only reason, I'm not ripping your spine out through your nose right now."
As Jose fell to the ground, Kaen turned back to Lucy and Eri, cutting their ropes, before they both grabbed Kaen in a hug, and wouldn't let go.
"I was so scared Papa." Eri cried.
"Me to." Lucy said.
"It's okay, you're both safe and sound, here in my arms now." Kaen said, taking Eri into his arms, and positioning Lucy on his back. "Now hold on tight, I'm gonna drop you off, back with the others."
"What about me Papa?" Eri asked.
"I'm taking you to the Guild's medic. Who knows what those Phantom Creeps did to either of you." Kaen sighed.
~Eastern Magnolia Forest~
'Hidden away in Magnolia's East Forest, you'll find a house carved into an ancient tree, where an old friend of Master Makarov Lives. Porlyusica is a highly skilled healer, but she lives a life of seclusion because of her hatred of mankind. Her specialty is in the treatment of ailments that were caused by magic. Which is why the Master has been brought to her.'
Standing in silence in the corner of the tree house were Bisca, Alzack, Kaen after he'd arrived there with Eri, waiting for Porlyusica to finish her diagnosis of Eri.
"Your daughter is fine." Porlyusica said, as Eri hopped down from the medical chair. "Nothing was done to her, in any sort of harmful way. But her bloodwork should take some time to complete, so be patient with me on that, okay? These things, can't be rushed, and bloodwork takes time and patience."
"Thank you. I really appreciate it." Kaen said, picking Eri up as she ran to him. "We'll get out of your hair n…" The Saiyan stopped when Porlyusica suddenly smacked Makarov across the face, as he laid in bed.
"What'd you do that for?" Alzack asked stepping forward, only for Kaen to stick his arm out and stop him.
"Hey, we wanted you to cure our Master, not make him worse." Bisca exclaimed her advancement forward stopped by Kaens tail.
"Enough." The Saiyan said. "She's just as worried about him as you are. If I recall what Mira told me correctly, she's been friends with gramps for as long as she can remember. That's just her way of showing tough love."
"It's what he deserves for pushing himself so hard at his age." Porlyusica stated. "Honestly you're such an old fool. Don't you think you should be leaving now? I'm sick of looking at you." She said, looking to the four visitors.
Bisca, Alzack, and Eri flinched at the harshness of her words, while Kaen remained steadfast and resolute, before his attention was drawn by something on the counter, a book of magic, with the title reading, rare magics.
"Would you mind if I borrowed this?" Kaen asked holding up the book.
"You can keep it for all I care. I have no use for it." Porlyusica exclaimed before turning her attention back to Makarov. "I should have the results of your daughters bloodwork in a few days."
"Thank you." Kaen said, heading for the door with Eri hugging him.
"Before we leave, can you at least tell us what his condition is?" Alzack asked.
"We want to help you take care of him." Bisca exclaimed.
"Just go home." Porlyusica stated. "Those ridiculously worried faces of yours will only aggravate his condition. These symptoms suggest a powerful wind spell was used. My guess the spell known as 'Drain.' This terrible spell drains its victim of all their magic abilities. Their powers then drift along the winds until they have dissipated completely. If only you'd gathered Makarov's powers when they were initially drained, he could have recovered quickly. But as things stand now, it'll take quite a bit longer."
"How long do you think?" Alzack asked.
"I'm sure the others will want to know." Bisca stated.
"Why are you still here? Kaen and his daughter left five minutes ago." Porlyusica shouted swinging her broom at them.
"I'm sorry but I thought you were talking to us all this time, ma'am." Alzack said as both he and Bisca stepped back.
"Of course I wasn't I can't stand the stink of you. Get out of here, already. Go on, move it. Shoo, shoo." Porlyusica shouted swinging her broom around even more.
"Real nice talking to you." Bisca called as they ran out of there.
"Wait for me." Alzack shouted, following close behind.
Once they were gone, Porlyusica went back to Makarov's side with a long face.
'You've always been quite the troublemaker, haven't you? A wizard's magic is intertwined with the very essence of his life. The greater his power the more devastating the drain spell will be.' Porlyusica monologued mentally. 'You're going to have to fight with all you've got, or this may very well be your deathbed. You really are such a pig-headed old fool.'
~Fairy Tail~
"Man this stinks." One of Fairy Tails members said as they were all treating their wounds.
"I can't believe we had to retreat."
"It's just not fair."
"We should go back. We have to get revenge for what they did to Levy and the others."
"We'll make them pay."
Meanwhile, Natsu's group, minus Erza as she was showering, surrounded a corner of the basement, where Lucy was sitting on a barrel with both Kaen, and Natsu on either side of her, with Kaen reading the book Porlyusica let him keep. Having used his flying technique to make it back to the guild in record time, while also keeping Eri at his side.
"Okay so their headquarters is here. So I'm thinking we should try and hit them, with some long range spells from the Southeast hill." Macao exclaimed.
"I'm bringing all my explosive Lacrimas next time." Wakaba said, a cigarette in his mouth, as his pipe had been destroyed.
"Hey guys I'm gonna need some spell books from the archives." Macao shouted.
"What about the one Kaen has?" Elfman asked.
"It's filled with lessons on learning rare magics, and I mean rare magic. Ones that make Dragonslayer Magic, look like you can buy them from a store in bulk." Kaen said.
Grey looked to Lucy, seeing how depressed she was and how she must have been feeling at the moment. It angered him to know, that she was feeling down about this whole situation.
"Don't worry, we'll get them back for this." Grey exclaimed. "We're gonna make Phantom Lord pay for what they did."
"I know. I'm not worried about that." Lucy sighed. "It's just… all my fault."
"Being targeted by dangerous people is just one of the downsides of being rich." Elfman exclaimed. "At least you're protected by a real man like me."
"Would you give it a rest already Elfman?" Kaen questioned.
"I gotta say, I was shocked when I heard the news. Why'd you hide the truth from us Lucy?" Happy asked.
"I wasn't trying to hide anything. I mean there's no way to bring up the fact that I'm a runaway in casual conversation. I've been gone for over a year now, and my father hasn't cared. Now all of a sudden he wants to force me to come home? He's done all those horrible things just to get me to go back. I hate his guts." Lucy cried, a hint of anger in her voice. "Still if I hadn't run away in the first place, none of this would have ever happened."
"C'mon don't be ridiculous, your dad's the one to blame." Elfman stated.
"Idiot." Grey stated.
"Uh, ha, I mean it is Phantom's fault." Elfman stated trying to correct himself.
"No. I'm the one who brought trouble to the guild, and it's all because of my own selfish choices." Lucy sighed. "I'm so very sorry. I'm just gonna go back home, and hopefully all this will be over with."
"Not a good idea." Kaen said.
"What are you talking about?" Grey asked.
"Well, for starters, I've known from the start who she was, and who her dad is." Kaen said.
"You have?" Elfman asked.
"Seriously?" Grey added.
"The CEO of Heartfilia Railways gave me this remember?" Kaen asked, holding up a platinum card with the Heartfilia Railways Emblem on the front. "It was my reward for saving his life, from bandits. He invited me to his mansion and everything."
"But how'd you piece together Lucy's past?" Happy asked.
"I saw paintings of her, and her parents inside the mansion." Kaen said. "An' I recognized her as the child from those paintings, the moment I saw her. But when I had asked her dad about his family before I left, he told me he'd rather not talk about it, and that if I ever saw Lucy, to bring her back to him right away, where he'd deliver a swift and harsh punishment."
"Don't know about you guys, but that certainly sounds like the threat of a beating to me." Grey said.
"Still…" Lucy began. "If it means I'll put an end to this conflict between the two guilds, I'll go home, accept my punishment, and live my life as the Heartfilia Heiress."
"I don't know about that." Natsu said, surprising Lucy. "I can't see you playing the part of the pretty princess sitting around in your mansion. Laughing with us in this filthy guild hall, going on adventures, even though you freak out all the time, that's who you really are. You said you wanted to stay with us right? Why would you ever go back to the place you ran away from? Come on. Who are you trying to kid? You're Lucy of Fairy Tail. No more running 'cause you belong here with us."
Lucy just looked at Natsu, before she felt someone hug her waist, and looked down to see Eri with her face buried in Lucy's stomach, before the child looked up at her with sad eyes.
"I don't want you to go away Aunt Lucy." Eri said.
Lucy couldn't hold back her emotions anymore, and began crying, feeling love from her friends surrounding her, even after everything that's happened, she felt like they should hate her, but she felt nothing but compassion and kindness in their words.
"Ah, don't cry. It's just not like you." Grey smiled.
"Yeah, please. Real men are weak to womanly tears." Elfman said, trying to keep himself from crying as well.
"Sorry." Lucy said still sobbing.
Everyone in the guild all smiled, as they could see how Lucy was reacting to their affections, before Kaen slammed the book shut, and he looked up, with a serious expression on his face.
"We've got company." He said, his bone mask returning to his face, as the ground began to rumble.
"What's going on?" Eri asked, sounding scared.
"Everyone, outside, NOW." Kaen shouted, grabbing Eri and heading for the stairs.
With Kaen leading the others, all of Fairy Tail ran out of what remained of the guild hall, and to the cliffside, overlooking the lake. When they got their, Kaen stopped as his eyes widened, as the cause of the rumbling ground, came into view. There in the water, heading towards the ruins of the Fairy Tail Guildhall, was Phantom Lord's main Guild Hall, walking on eight robotic legs like some sort of giant spider.
"What the hell is that thing?" Cana questioned.
"It's Phantom Lords Main branch." Kaen exclaimed, as the mobile Guildhall came to a stop, stabilizing itself.
"How do we fight that thing?" Wakaba asked.
"I never anticipated this. I never thought they'd go to such extremes to attack us." Erza exclaimed shaking as she wore nothing but a towel, as she ran out straight from her shower.
'Please put some clothes on.' Kaen thought, covering Eri's eyes from the sight.
One of the walls on Phantom's guildhall opened up, as a collapsible cannon barrel came out of the building, and extended itself from the hidden chamber.
"Shit." Kaen cursed. "Looks like the Phantom War, just came to Magnolia."
