Ray Tanaka: This is my Halloween Story for the year, and features Gigan's sisters Lady Gigana and Girly Galrin from Godziban which is my first time having them in a story.
Night has fallen on All Hallow's Eve with the full moon illuminating a two story house in an average looking neighborhood in Japan. This house has a minivan out in the driveway with the house having its curtains closed over the windows while letting light emits from behind them. The front of the house is not decorated and the front porch light is off which – if in the United States – would signal to those seeking out treats that the house has nothing to give.
However, this house isn't going to be occupied for long.
Inside the living room of the house, three women are standing around with one in front of a full length mirror on the wall. This woman is in her mid thirties with her dressed in a black skirt reaching down to her shins and a red vest over a white Gothic blouse with her messing with her mouth. Her hair reaches the back of her shoulders with it being white on either side of a middle stripe of brown hair as her blue eyes keep looking into the mirror.
However, from her hair sprout a pair of thin antenna with her having two large butterfly wings coming from her back which flex slightly. These large wings have orange, yellow, and black patterns which flex again as she gets a fake fang into her mouth and moves her hand away to look at the pair she's just put in.
This woman is one of the many kaiju who live in this world and one of the most well known among them all. For she is the divine guardian Mothra with her getting dressed up for the yearly All Hallow's Eve party at the Monster King's house.
Well, she prefers to call it 'All Hallow's Eve' rather than the more traditional name it's been given over the years.
Smiling at the reflection, Mothra moves to grab a necklace as she hears one of the other two women in the room speak.
"Finished with the teeth, Countess?"
Turning a bit, she looks to her left to see an older woman about a few years older than her with her maroon hair let down and her side bangs covering her right eye. Her lips are red with lipstick and has lavender eye shadow for her eyes while having gold stud earrings on her ears. Being a kaiju much like Mothra, this lady has pink colored eyes and two large red wings that look like they're made of overlapping metal plates.
Unlike Mothra whose costume covers her body, this woman is wearing a red sequined strapless dress with a low back and a sweetheart neckline which shows off a lot of her cleavage. Her legs are also revealed thanks to a thigh high slit on the left side of the red dress which shows off her stockings and pink stilettos. She has her hands on her hips with her hands and arms covered by elegant purple opera gloves.
"I do have them in," Mothra answers while nodding her head, "You going to be warm in that, Gigana?"
The woman – Lady Gigana, eldest of the true King and Queen of her home planet – chuckles as he quips, "Don't worry about me being warm, Mothra. I can handle the weather wearing this."
"I hope so, sis!"
Both turn to see the third woman who appears to be in her early thirties with her having pink hair with pony tails on either side of her hair and a visor that looks like pink snow goggles with gold frames covering her eyes. On her back are a pair of pinkish white feathery wings that appear similar to those found on angel statues and she has a silver tiara with rubies and pink sapphires on it adorning her head.
She is wearing a pink gown that covers her body with the collar of it up against her neck and her arms being covered by long flowing sleeves. The skirt goes down to her ankles which allows her red dress flats to be shown which appear like they're made of rubies while having a silver necklace with a heart shaped pendant around her neck.
As she looks at both Gigana and Mothra with a smile, she states, "I wouldn't want you to get a cold."
Smirking at her, Gigana replies, "I appreciate your concern, Galrin."
Galrin – or rather Girly Galrin if one was to use her full name – smiles as she shows off her perfectly white teeth matching her princess costume to a tee. Mothra smiles happily as she returns to looking back to the mirror as she picks up a pair of black finger less gloves from a nearby end table before she puts one onto her left hand.
"I thought your husband got you a costume for tonight?" Gigana asks while raising an eyebrow.
"He did," Mothra states with a sigh, "However, I am not wearing that slave outfit."
From another room, a male voice is heard exclaiming, "For the last time, it's called the 'Hutt Slayer' outfit!"
Turning her head while putting on her other glove, the guardian moth says with a raised voice, "That skimpy outfit was worn by someone when she was being enslaved by a giant slug. Thus, it's a slave outfit!"
"She was wearing that very same outfit when she killed said giant slug!" the male voice retorts, "Therefore, it's a 'Hutt Slayer' outfit and I think you'd be amazing wearing it considering what you normally fight!"
"Give it a rest, Gigan!," Gigana shouts while looking towards the hallway her brother's voice is coming from, "It's not the name, but the context around it she doesn't like!"
"I don't understand why we're shouting," Galrin says, blinking as she sees Mothra pick up a necklace with a fake sapphire on a pendant from the same end table.
"Don't worry about it, Galrin," Mothra replies, looking over with a smile while putting the necklace on.
"Oh, okay!" the younger woman exclaims, smiling widely with her hands behind her back. Mothra shakes her head as she finishes putting on the necklace with the latch clicking into place. Between the three siblings that she got to know, the guardian moth found that the youngest of the trio is the easiest for her to get along with.
Not that the other two were bad, more just difficult compared to their younger sibling.
Turning around, she asks, "Alright, how do I look?"
"You make an excellent vampire, sister," Gigana states, "Nice to see you going without a cape."
"It looks amazing on you!" Galrin proudly says, moving her hands to give an applause to the moth.
Mothra smile as as she holds her hands together while bowing in gratitude before Gigan's voice is heard saying, "You done with your costume, Mothra?"
All three women look over to the hallway to another room before Mothra calls out, "I am, Gigan. Hurry up, we don't want to be late to the party!"
"I'm done, babe," he's heard saying as footsteps are heard coming down the hallway.
"Well, let's see-" Mothra begins, but stops as her husband comes out from the hallway and steps into the room.
All three women know that the person is Gigan himself, but his costume covers nearly all of his body except for his back due to the three navy blue and red fin-like sails he has. Outside of his head, the rest of his body is covered by a black cloth jumpsuit with him having gloves and boots with silver pieces that appear like armor. His legs have similar looking armor pieces which are blue in color and placed on his shins and thighs though the latter is covered by a black cloth akin to a kilt which he's wearing with his costume.
This kilt however opens at the front which shows off part of a silver plate acting as a codpiece with the black kilt being attached to a grey utility belt around his waist. The belt has two scabbards for a pair of swords with the hilts being right next to the breastplate he's wearing.
This breastplate is obviously the monster's own with it appearing like navy blue plates layered over each other with a row of silver spikes going up the middle until where his pecs would be. This breastplate continues up to the shoulders and around the neck along with connecting to navy blue pauldrons which are also layered like the breastplate. The man's arms are relatively bare of armor except for the two silver gauntlets that are built up to appear like they have equipment on them.
However, the most stand out piece is the man's helmet which covers his whole head with only the ends of his navy blue hair being seen from under it. This helmet is blue like most of the plating, but has a red visor in the shape of the letter 'T' on the front and a silver antenna pointing up on the right side of the helmet. Silver paint appears on the sides of the lower part of the 'T' visor like mandibles and a red dot right above the visor itself.
Mothra feels her jaw drop as she blushes a bit at the sight of her husband wearing the costume with pieces of his own custom armor as part of it. On the other hand, Gigana raises her left eyebrow as she looks at her younger brother's costume out of slight concern regarding how detailed it is.
"Wow!" Galrin exclaims in amazement, "Gigan, you look great in that skirt!"
"Thanks, Galrin," Gigan replies, nodding his head while putting his hands on the hilts of his twin swords, "I felt it adds to the whole costume. It's not actually a skirt, but I think that works for what it is."
"So...what are you supposed to be?" Gigana asks, blinking as the divine moth walks forward.
"I'm a Mandalorian swordsman," Gigan answers, looking at his sister despite his face being hidden by his helmet. However, he looks down as Mothra puts her hand on the breastplate while still looking at his costume with her wide eyes.
"W...wow," she says, marveling at her husband. She looks up as the man reaches up and places his hands on the sides of his helmet before taking it off. Once it's off, Gigan shakes his head allowing his navy blue hair to be free as it touches the back of his head while the bangs get over his red eyes.
"Like what you see, my moth?" he asks, smiling as he moves to hold his helmet by his left arm against his side.
Still having her blush, she smiles back while she says, "Y-Yes. It's amazing."
Gigan smirks as he gently cups Mothra's cheek as he leans down and gently captures her lips in a loving kiss. However, the kiss doesn't last long as a gentle clapping is heard coming from behind the moth.
"Alright, you two," Gigana is heard saying as the two separate from the kiss, "I think the kids will be coming down soon and the younger ones don't like seeing you kiss."
"Aw, but they're so cute when they're together," Galrin complains quietly as Gigan and Mothra separate from each other with the guardian turning around towards them.
Gigan glares at his elder sister before stating, "You're no fun, Gigana."
Gigana opens her mouth to say something, but the sound of footsteps coming down a set of stairs are heard which makes her stop with all four adults looking towards the front door. As they do, the footsteps grow louder rather quickly before two children in their early teens come into view with them stopping as they reach the living room.
Both children have brown hair with the bangs above their eyes and towards their sides being white in color while having long hair that reaches the back of their shoulders. Both look very similar to each other with the main difference between them being that one is a boy with red eyes and the other is a girl with blue eyes.
Well, they also differ in terms of their costumes.
The boy is wearing a grey cowboy hat on his head while having a red shirt showing from under a black coat and a pair of black pants. On his feet are a pair of black socks since the boots he should be wearing are at the door while having his hands covered by a pair of red finger less gloves. In his hands is a toy rifle that looks like it comes from the American Old West with an obvious orange ring at the end of the barrel to signify that it's a toy.
On the other hand, the girl has a black pointy hat with a blue ribbon around it while having a black dress that reaches down to the upper half of her shins and has a blue sash around it. This allows her long socks to be shown with are blue with white horizontal stripes while her shoes are by the front door as well. Her arms are covered by the long sleeves of her dress while her hands are covered in blue finger less gloves with the girl holding a broom in her hands.
"Aunt Gigana!" The boy exclaims happily.
"Aunt Galrin!" The girl shouts, smiling at the sight of her aunt.
"Oh, Taro and Hanako," Galrin says while looking at her young niece and nephew, "You look so good in your costumes!"
"Thank you," both children say at the same time. Mothra smiles, looking at her youngest children who are – rather obviously – twin Mothras who are still in their larval stage.
Gigana smiles as she looks down at the twins while her younger sister asks, "And what are you two supposed to be?"
"I'm a witch, Aunt Galrin," Hanako answers proudly.
"And I'm a monster hunter," Taro replies, standing up straight while smiling up at his aunt.
Gigan smirks a bit as he gives his wife a quick glance before telling his son, "Maybe, but don't point your rifle at mom. She's off limits."
Taro looks over to Mothra before turning his head to the alien cyborg and nodding his head as a means of answering. As he does, the older moth smiles at her children as she says, "Both of you look amazing in your costumes."
Hanako grins widely as she states, "Leo's costume is even better!"
"Oh, really?" Mothra asks, looking down at her daughter.
"Of course!" her youngest son answers while keeping his smile, "It looks so great on him, like he's meant to be wearing it!"
"Careful now, Taro," Gigana remarks with a small smile, "You might get us too excited to see his costume."
"I want to see how Leo looks!" Galrin exclaims, obvious wanting to see what her older nephew is wearing.
"Let me get him," Taro replies before turning around and shouting, "Come down, Leo! Show mom and dad your costume!"
"Um...do you think that's a good idea?" Leo is heard from the top of the stairwell with some hesitation.
"Go for it, big brother!" Hanako encourages with her and the others looking towards the bottom of the stairs.
Everyone waits for a moment before soft foot steps are heard coming down the stairs which quickly end as the person stops at the bottom of the stairwell. There is a few moments where nothing happens, but then they come out into the living room to reveal themselves.
The person standing there is a young man in his early twenties whose looking at the others with his green eyes which is just the start of his kaiju traits. His short hair is white on either side of a black stripe that goes down the middle with two feathery antenna coming out of his hair. Sprouting from his back are two large butterfly wings with patterns of green, orange, and black which signifies that he is a Mothra in their imago form.
His upper body is on full display with his chest having black patterns painted on while having rather decorated brass arm rings with a few blue gems on them midway on his upper arms. Around his neck is a necklace with several curved, comma shaped jade beads which are separated from each other by a series of a few round shaped beads.
Around his waist is an orange cloth belt with brass decorations which have intricate designs along with a leather sheath which holds a fake dagger that looks like it's from the Bronze Age. Right below this belt is a green loincloth which wraps around his hips and has two flaps that cover the front of his lower body and his rear. The final element of his costume are four bracelets made of black cord with a few shark teeth tied into them which the divine moth is wearing on his wrists and ankles.
This young man – who is obviously Mothra Leo, the eldest of Mothra's children – gives a small smile as he stands in front of his family and his two aunts. Sucking some air in, he opens his mouth to speak...
...when Mothra and Gigan speak simultaneously.
"Go change, Leo."
"What?" Leo asks with confusion, "I'm not wearing something bad."
"You're not going like that, Leo," Mothra answers without hesitation.
"Why exactly are you even dressed up like that?" Gigan asks, raising an eyebrow as he looks over his son's costume.
"Well, me and Junior are going to have matching costumes," the divine moth explains, "I wanted to be an ancient wizard and he's an ancient hunter. We've had this planned out all month!"
Gigan honestly could have rolled his eyes at this point, but keeps himself from doing so. It was no secret that his son had fallen hard for the monster prince so needless to say they often did many things together.
As he tunes back into what's going on, he hears his son asks exasperated, "Why can't I wear this?"
"Because it's rather revealing," Mothra replies as she gestures to him, "You're almost wearing nothing, and we're going to a party where a lot of people will be seeing you like this."
"Yeah, plus it's...rather ill suited for you," Gigan adds, shaking his head while looking at the younger moth.
"No it's not," Galrin retorts, making the two adults look at her, "Leo looks natural in that, and if that's what he wishes to wear then he should be allowed to."
"Still, the point about it being inappropriate stands," her older brother says, "Besides, I can't understand why Junior would suggest such a revealing outfit."
"Oh, don't blame the prince for the idea," Gigana speaks up, stepping towards her nephew, "I was the one who gave the two the idea."
Mothra raises an eyebrow at her elder sister in law as she asks, "And why did you gave them that idea?"
"Because they asked me," the older space kaiju answers, "Besides, I've already seen Junior's hunter outfit and I think they'll look amazing together."
"Well, that doesn't matter," Gigan replies sternly, standing straight up, "We are Leo's parents, and we say that he can't go to the party wearing that outfit."
"That's not far!" Hanako exclaims, her and Taro running to be by their brother's sides.
"Yeah," Taro states, "If Leo can't wear his costume, then we won't go!"
"Taro, Hanako," Mothra says quietly, looking at them with some disapproval. Not because they're willing to stand up for their brother, but because they're doing it for the costume.
"Well, if you're going to pull rank like that," Gigana says while crossing her arm, "As the eldest of the three of us, I say that Leo's allowed to wear that costume and what I say is final."
"What?!" Gigan shouts, sounding rather surprised as Galrin rushes towards her eldest sibling's side.
"Yeah, and as youngest I agree," Galrin replies, her hands on her hips, "Not only do I outrank you as the youngest, but now it's two against one!"
"Um...it's two against two," Mothra points out, trying to even the odds in this rather silly argument.
"Four against two!" Taro shouts almost immediately.
"And you two don't have a say in this," Gigan replies right back, trying to keep his voice down towards the youngest ones of the group.
"Well, in that case you're not allowed to have a say in this either," Gigana counters with a smirk, "After all, you were wanting your wife to wear that revealing costume."
"I-," the alien cyborg begins, but stops and seems to start floundering as he stutters out, "Well...um, you...Gigana-"
"Okay, you have a point there Gigana," Mothra says, turning to your husband, "You shouldn't be talking here because of that slave outfit."
"It's not a-" Gigan starts to say while raising his voice, getting frustrated before stopping and walking over to the couch that the room has. Putting his helmet down, he grabs one of the two throw pillows before lifting it up and pressing his face into it. Within a moment, the muffled sound of the kaiju's signature screech is heard as the space monster screams into the pillow.
Turning to the eldest of the three space kaiju, Mothra blinks before stating, "I can't believe you just turned me against Gigan just now."
Gigana just smiles while saying as a quip, "Not that hard, honestly."
Mothra shakes her head before looking back at Leo...and honestly this is getting absurd. After all, she's getting after her eldest child for wearing a costume she doesn't agree with. So, letting out a sigh, she decides the best course of action.
"Alright, Leo," the divine moth says as she relents in the argument, "You can wear that."
Letting out a small smile, Leo walks over and hugs her as he says, "Thank you, Mom."
"You're welcome," Mothra replies, smiling as she returns the hug.
Gigan puts the pillow back down on the couch before picking up and putting his helmet on as Galrin looks over at a clock on a nearby wall. As she reads the time, she lets out a loud gasp before loudly saying, "Oh, goodness! We need to get going!"
"Really?" Gigana asks, looking over at the clock, "Oh, the party starts in about ten minutes."
"Alright, let's go everyone!" Mothra replies, smiling as she let's go of Leo and quickly walks over to her twin children. They quickly reach up and hold one of her hands as she takes them towards the door with Galrin leading them and Gigana following behind.
They head out the door as Mothra Leo walks over to the doorway and bends down to pick up a black backpack while the others head out the door. Standing up, he slings it over his shoulder and takes a step towards the front door before a gloved hand is placed on his shoulder.
Looking to his right, Leo finds himself looking at his father who remains silent for a moment before hesitantly saying with a muffled voice, "I'm sorry...about earlier. I...I should have acted more mature than that."
"It's okay, dad," the younger moth replies, giving a smile as he sees his father move his head slightly.
"What's in there?" the alien cyborg asks, nodding towards his son's backpack.
"Clothes for tomorrow," Leo answers quickly, not wanting to lie at the moment. His father is silent for a moment, but then nods his head and removes his hand from his son's shoulder.
"I'll tell your mother then," Gigan states, "But I expect you home by noon."
"Right," Mothra Leo replies, nodding before heading out the door.
Seeing his son walking off, Gigan sighs as he moves the lock on the door knob to the closed position before grabbing the outside door knob. Walking out the house, he turns on the front porch light and closes the door behind him.
Ray Tanaka: Hoped you all enjoyed and have a Happy Halloween, everyone!
