(A/N: In the first chapter, Mario and Luigi found out what costumes they wanted to wear to Peach's Halloween party, and they're there! Now let's see what happens at the royal Halloween party!)

When the Marios entered the building, they looked around the Great Hall at all the decorations. There were jack-o'-lanterns and fake cobwebs (with big fake spiders) everywhere you looked, and they even saw what looked like a witch-crash on one of the doors, the sight of which never failed to give them a chuckle.

After admiring the decorations, the brothers noticed that, like the princess, all the Toads in attendance were wearing costumes. And thankfully, for Luigi, none of the Toads were dressed as something really scary. Plus, none of them had dressed in the same costumes as Mario and Luigi, nor were they dressed as other characters from "Star Wars".

"I'm glad no one else decided to dress in the same costumes as us." Luigi whispered to Mario.

"Me too. That isn't always a good thing." Mario replied.

Then one Toad (dressed like Mickey Mouse) came walking up, saw the Mario Bros. in their costumes, and said, "Oh, wow! I can't believe it! Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are at this party! If Bowser shows up, the sight of these two will tell him that he has no choice but to stay away... unless he thinks he's lived long enough!"

"You really think so, Toad?" Luigi asked.

"Luigi! You're Luke?! Well, I guess that's understandable, since you did have a hand in helping to save the princess, and the fact you're using a green lightsaber also gives away your identity." said the Toad. Then he realized that he didn't see Mario, and he asked, "Hey, where's Mario? Isn't he usually with you?"

"I find your lack of recognition disturbing." Mario replied in his best impression of Darth Vader while pretending to force-choke the Toad. The Toad noticed what Darth Vader was doing, and he began to pretend that he really was being choked.

"Mario, please don't do that to the poor Toad. I know that you're only pretending to be Darth Vader, but that's not very funny, since no one can really tell it's-a you in that costume. They're going to think you're really hurting Mickey Mouse. Now release him." Luigi said, thinking that Mario really was doing such a thing.

"Come si desidera. As you wish." Mario replied, stopping the force-choke gesture.

The Toad stopped choking and pretended to catch his breath. Then he smiled at Mario and said, "Don't worry, Mario. I was just acting like you were choking me. Besides, I should've figured that you were in the Darth Vader costume. The Sith use lightsabers in your favorite color, red."

"That's right. But if I have to use a red lightsaber, then I'd only use it against villains like Bowser. That would mess him up real bad." said Mario.

"I know, and I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we all feel a lot safer with you guys at the party, in case Bowser decides to show up to try and take our princess away. But even if he does appear, he may not recognize the princess in her costume. She doesn't look very much like a princess in that maid outfit, does she?" the Toad asked.

"Nope." said Mario.

"Not really..." added Luigi.

The brothers then decided to look over the snacks. Apart from the candies, there were quite a few interesting snacks that were right for Halloween, such as candy apples, and cookies shaped like objects one would see at Halloween (with icing and colorful sugar on them). There were also some spooky-looking foods, like chocolate cupcakes that looked like big spiders.

"Mama-mia! It would be pretty funny to set one of these on Bowser's face while he's sleeping. Can you imagine what would happen if he opened his eyes, saw this sitting on his face, and believed that it really was a big spider?" Mario asked as he picked up one of the cupcakes.

"That does sound like a funny thing to do..." said a nearby Toad (who was dressed like a zombie), who was currently enjoying one of the spider cupcakes.

"Oh, it gets better. What if it turns out that the big bad Koopa King suffers from a really bad case of arachnophobia? He would freak out and start trying to kill it! And in his haste, he totally forgot that he could kill it by breathing fire at it!" Luigi added.

"Then, after he kills the spider, he realizes that it was just food, something that couldn't hurt him in any way! And then he ends up feeling like un idiota for being afraid of and trying to kill a cupcake!" Mario finished.

Everyone else heard that story, and they all burst out laughing at the thought of Bowser being afraid of a cupcake, even though it was decorated to look like a big spider.

Even Peach couldn't help laughing as she pictured how sore her worst enemy would feel upon realizing that he had been scared of food. Food that she and the Toads had prepared earlier that day.

"He would be pretty sore if he found out that a cupcake had scared him so badly." the princess replied between laughs.

"It does sound like a really funny thought! I would pay big coins to see that!" another Toad said.

There were also fun games to be played, like bobbing for apples, which Mario just had to play. He had to remove his Darth Vader mask to play it, of course, but that didn't bother him in the least. He was good at it, for he got an apple right away!

"Ta-dah!" Mario said, although his words were muffled since his teeth were still in the apple he caught.

"Good job, Mario!" Peach congratulated the plumber, who smiled at her as he began to eat the apple. Then she asked Luigi, "Are you going to try for an apple?"

"No, I'm not really good at that game. So I'll just have myself a candy apple." Luigi replied, heading towards the tables where the refreshments were for said treat.

"Okay, then..." said the princess as she put another apple in the tub of water.

There were also some pretty good songs picked out for background music, such as "Grim Grinning Ghosts", and everyone's favorite, "The Monster Mash", which everybody danced to. Everyone was having a lot of fun, and that was a good thing.

"This is una grande festa, a great party, Princess!" Mario said to Peach later on.

"Sure is!" Luigi added.

"I'm glad you boys are having a great time, because you earned it!" Peach replied.

About two hours into the party, during one of the quieter songs, there was a knock at the door.

"Huh? Who could be coming this late?" Peach asked. She was sure that everyone was at the party, except for citizens who were not feeling so good.

"I'll find out." Toad (who was dressed as a bee) said, and he went to open the door and see who arrived. Well, when he saw who was standing there, his eyes got big, and he let out a scream of terror as he slammed the door shut. The combination of those sounds got everyone's attention, and they all turned to look at him in shock!

"EVERYONE RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! BOWSER'S AT THE DOOR!" Toad shouted at the top of his voice, scared silly.

"WHAT?!" everyone asked, their eyes wide with horror. Did they hear him correctly? Bowser was here?! Perhaps saying his name too many times was a way to summon him, like Beetlejuice. But they'd much rather see him than their kingdom's worst enemy!

Before Toad could repeat himself, the doors slammed open, and sure enough, Bowser stomped into the castle! Boy, did everyone get scared when they saw him come in!

Mario and Luigi looked at each other in shock! What was Bowser doing here? He wasn't supposed to be here! Well, they couldn't look as fearful as everyone else did. And Luigi was determined to be brave, since he was dressed like a Jedi Knight.

"All right, I want you all to listen up! I'm here for Princess Peach, and you're gonna hand her over to me without a fuss! Now where is she?!" Bowser asked, looking around the Great Hall for any sign of the princess. He didn't seem to recognize her in her maid outfit.

"Oh no... Why did Bowser have to come here...? He's going to ruin everything..." Peach said in a frightened whisper, her skin turning a whiter shade of pale. She was so scared, she couldn't move, much less scream.

"It's okay, Princess. We'll get rid of him." Mario assured Peach in a whisper as he and Luigi helped her to hide under a table in the room, unseen by Bowser.

"He's not going to take you away tonight. Promettiamo. We promise." Luigi said as he and Mario made sure the princess was safe. It wouldn't do any good for them to try and take on Bowser with Peach hiding in plain sight, just in case he recognized her in spite of the fact she was not in her usual attire.

Bowser looked at the crowd below him, trying to pick out the princess. Then he spotted a Toad girl who was dressed up as a princess in a pink ballgown and picked her up, saying, "Aha! There you are, Peach!"

"HEY! PUT ME DOWN! I'M NOT PRINCESS PEACH!" the Toad girl screamed at the top of her lungs. Even the other Toads were screaming that he didn't have the princess, but Bowser was deaf to their cries.

"All right, Peach! I've got you now... Huh?! Wait a second!" Bowser said as he took a closer look at the princess he nabbed. The girl was right! She wasn't the princess at all! She was just a Toad girl in a stereotypical princess costume. And was she mad!

"Hey! You're not Peach!" Bowser yelled, angry that he had been duped. At least he found out the truth before taking her back to his castle. Good thing he didn't send his minions here to do the job for him; they probably would have made the same mistake, and he'd be making them feel as stupid as he did right now!

"I told you I wasn't her, you big dummy! This is just a Halloween costume! NOW PUT ME DOWN!" the girl demanded.

"Whatever..." Bowser muttered with an uncaring look on his face as he simply dropped the girl, causing her to scream.

Everyone hurried to where the girl was going to fall so they could catch her and prevent her from getting hurt, or killed. They caught her just in time, so she wasn't hurt. But she was furious with Bowser and hoped the Mario Bros. would not let him get away with what he did. In fact, once she was on her feet again, she ran to where Mario and Luigi stood and whispered, "Make him suffer!"

Mario and Luigi nodded and thought about how they were gonna be heroes this time.

"Now where is Peach?! Bring her to me now!" Bowser demanded as he looked over the crowd. He didn't see Peach anywhere, but she had to be here. This was her castle, so where was she?

"Sorry, Bowser, but your princess is locked up in the Death Star, in a galaxy far, far away..." Mario said in his best impression of Darth Vader.

Bowser turned in the direction of that voice and saw two characters holding colorful glowing swords, and they looked like they were totally going to fight him. However, the character who wasn't dressed all in black looked kind of familiar to him, but he couldn't figure out why. Either way, he wasn't really planning to leave until he had the princess in his clutches.

"You think you idiots can trick me into giving up with a stupid lie like that?! Ha! That's a good one! I'll take both of you on right now! And when I win, you'll have no choice but to hand over the princess!" Bowser said.

"If we were you, we wouldn't toy with us, Bowser. You really have no idea what you're up against this time, and because of that, this battle isn't going to end in your favor." Luigi warned.

"Oh, yes it will. I know I'm going up against two lousy people who think they have a shot at beating me, but you won't win. Everyone knows that you're going to lose, and the princess will be mine!" Bowser said.

Peach shuddered at the sound of the Koopa King's voice. She didn't want him to find her, but he hadn't picked her out that easily when he walked in, thanks to her costume making her look more like a maid, which is not what Bowser wanted.

"That's it! Now you're gonna get it." Mario said, and he intended to use his lightsaber to hit Bowser right in the kisser, but he aimed it too high up and ended up hitting Bowser in the eye instead. That wasn't a bad thing, because hitting him in the eye was much better than getting him in the mouth!

"OWWW! You big jerk! You hit me in my eye! That hurts!" Bowser yelled, both hands over his hurt eye.

"Good! Then you won't see this coming!" Luigi said, jumping up and hitting Bowser in the other eye as hard as he could with his lightsaber.

"OWWW! Why did you dummies have to go and do that?! Now I can't see!" Bowser complained, hands over both his eyes.

"He can't see?! YES! Come on, guys! Let's help Luke and Darth Vader win this fight!" said a Toad that was dressed up as a vampire. So all the Toads started helping out, happy to get their revenge on Bowser. They were beating him up, and there was nothing he could do to stop them. He couldn't see where they were, and he couldn't breathe fire at them because if the princess was in the crowd that fought him, he didn't want to risk burning her.

Even the Toad girl Bowser had nabbed a minute ago was joining in the fight, happy to get her sweet revenge on the Koopa King. She was breaking Bowser's fingers so he couldn't grab anyone else like he did her.

"All right! I give up! You all win! I won't take the princess tonight! Just help me get out of here so I can go back home and try to recover from this beating." Bowser finally said. He hated having to surrender, but there wasn't much he could do when he couldn't see where the Toads were coming from so he could defend himself from their attacks.

"Okay, then." said the Toads. They pushed Bowser out through the exit, and then they locked the doors tight, making sure he stayed out of the castle. Once the Koopa King was outside, he had to muster the strength to crawl back to his own castle. He didn't plan on going back to the Mushroom Kingdom for a long while. Never had he suffered such a humiliating defeat!

Then Mario rushed over to the table Peach was hiding under, and he lifted the tablecloth and said to her, "You're safe now, Peach. Bowser has left the building."

"He's gone?" Peach asked in surprise.

"Sì. He's not coming back here tonight." Luigi smiled.

"All right! Now that Bowser has been dealt with, let's get back to partying!" Peach cheered as she crawled out from under the table, and then the party resumed as though nothing had happened. Mario and Luigi even told Peach how they stopped Bowser, and how everyone else helped them to get rid of him.

When the party ended at 11:00, Peach unlocked the doors, and everyone saw that Bowser had left, as he promised, so it was safe for everyone to leave the castle tonight. The guests all said their good-byes to the princess and wished her a happy Halloween. The princess thanked everyone for coming, and she hoped to see them again on Halloween night, while they were out trick-or-treating.

Before Mario and Luigi left, Peach gave each of them a hug and kiss on the cheek. Then she said, "After what you boys did to Bowser tonight, I think I'll be more than willing to give the "Star Wars" movies another try. And I can't thank you enough for stopping him and saving me, and the party. You truly are heroes, and I feel so blessed to have you in my life."

"Oh, it was nothing, Princess..." Mario said, having to put his Darth Vader mask back on because his face was turning as red as his lightsaber.

"Yeah... We were glad to get rid of him for you..." Luigi added, his face also shaming Mario's lightsaber.

"Will I be seeing you guys again on Halloween night?" Peach asked.

Mario and Luigi rapidly nodded their heads yes. They were blushing too hard to reply.

"All right, then. Good night." Peach said.

"B-buona n-n-notte p-principessa... Good night, Princess." Mario and Luigi managed to reply. Then they walked home, feeling like the luckiest men alive.

The End

Well, what do you think? The Mario Bros. had a good time with Princess Peach, and they stopped Bowser from finding her and ruining her Halloween party. Not only that, but even the Toads got their revenge on him! I hope you all enjoyed this story as much as the Marios enjoyed the party!
