Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, we finally saw how Batman and his crew were doing. And it wasn't going well at all, at least until Batman revealed he'd called aid. And that aid was, of all people, John Constantine, claiming his daughter would never let him live it down if he left Kent Nelson in the corrupted state he was in. But from that, a terrifying fact was revealed: Kent Nelson was never corrupted. The Helm of Fate itself was, as shown by how it manifested itself into a copy of Doctor Fate, heading off to warn Darkblood with Batman and co on his tail. So, what awaits as the battle in Atlantis continues? Read on to discover...
(Our scene resumes back in Aquaman's throne room, where the battle against Darkblood has hit a fever pitch. Blaze, Spyro, and Cynder are hardly holding their punches against Darkblood while Belial Aether is tending to Aquaman's wounds, and the King of the Sea is no fan)
Aquaman: This is humiliating.
Belial Aether: Would you rather have a harpoon stuck to your stump? Because that can be arranged.
(With a little bit of his power over the dead, Belial Aether manages to reattach Aquaman's hand and somehow reanimate it)
Aquaman: How did you...
Belial Aether: You don't want to know. And even if you did, I wasn't going to tell you.
Aquaman: This is my domain, no secrets will be kept from me here.
Belial Aether: Last I checked, I'm not your subject. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got an evil dragon to fight.
(With that, Belial Aether rejoins the fight, by getting knocked into Blaze.)
Blaze: You got Aquaman's hand reattached?
Belial Aether: Yeah. So, what've I missed?
Blaze: Not sure on the plan. Can you sense something?
Belial Aether: I've sensed the duality of his soul the entire time since we talked. If your plan is what I think it is, it's working somehow.
Blaze: How well?
Belial Aether: One good emotional shock to your beloved's soul might be able to pull him out.
Blaze: Let's hope so. Time for action.
(As Spyro and Cynder are on the ropes, Blaze and Belial Aether leap into action. Spyro and Cynder fall back while Belial Aether uses his power over the shadows to bind Darkblood to the ground)
Darkblood: You fool, attempting to bind a Purple Dragon with an element he controls? You must be asking to die.
Belial Aether: I'm not trying to defeat you this way. I'm holding you down for her.
(With no hesitation, Blaze leaps in and pins Darkblood against the wall)
Blaze: Drago, I know you're still in there. Please, you have to fight this.
Darkblood: (With his voice starting to change slightly) The dragon you seek is dead, has been for a long time!
Blaze: You and I both know that's not true. Drago, please, come back to me...
(And in this moment, a miracle occurs, Darkblood is suppressed for a few precious seconds, and from it, Dragnarok himself re-emerges)
Dragnarok: (Through Darkblood's mouth) Blaze?
Blaze: (Seeing it's worked) Drago?
Dragnarok: Please... help me...
Blaze: I'll do anything. What will free you from this?!
Dragnarok: Gray... Son... Find... Gray... Son...
Blaze: What? How will that free you?
(But Dragnarok doesn't get a chance to finish his response, as Darkblood suppresses him yet again)
Darkblood: He will never be free!
(Before Darkblood can hit Blaze, he's struck across the face by Aquaman's trident, scarring his face)
Darkblood: (Seeing Aquaman is back) WHAT?!
Aquaman: That was for my hand.
Darkblood: As if I didn't need anymore reason to kill you, fish man.
?: A chance you'll never get to act on.
(And as that familiar voice echoes across the room, Blaze turns around to reveal the Regime has found their way in, with Superman and Wonder Woman having made their presence known)
Superman: (To Aquaman) And here I thought I could trust you.
Aquaman: In defense of Atlantis, I answer to no one. Not even you, Superman. Be I part of your Regime or not.
Wonder Woman: You would do well to watch your tongue, Arthur.
Superman: Enough, Diana. (To Aquaman) We'll discuss this later. Right now, we've got a threat to exterminate.
Darkblood: Please. You think you're honestly strong enough to defeat me? Then you've got another thing coming.
(Just as Darkblood says that, the door bursts open, revealing Doctor Fate has arrived)
Superman: (Seeing Doctor Fate in Darkblood's colors) I see he even turned you, Kent.
Doctor Fate: You speak with Nabu, not Kent Nelson. Not anymore.
Superman: (Realizing what's happened) You can't be serious.
Doctor Fate: If you want to harm my master, you must get through me.
Superman: (As his eyes glow red with heat vision) Very well then.
Blaze: (Seeing the fullness of the circumstances) Oh, this is not going to end well at all.
(And as this scene of total chaos is about to erupt, our scene ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to end off for now. So, the Regime has finally managed to arrive, with Superman and Wonder Woman entering the battle. And it looks like there's going to be a little tension between Superman and Aquaman at this point. More on that as time goes on, but it's probably not going to end well for one of them. I think you can probably tell which one if you know what we've already written. More on that as time goes on. But just to make things worse, Doctor Fate has now arrived, and everything looks like it's about to erupt into chaos as Darkblood, Superman, and Doctor Fate are about to clash. So, what awaits as everything goes horribly wrong? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
