What if Wesley Wyndam-Pryce succeeded in taking Connor away from Angel?

What if Connor was raised on Earth?

What if Buffy was resurrected and sent somewhere else?

Chapter One: Taken

Wesley passed the welcome sign into Sunnydale. He didn't want to come back here, but he had no choice. He burned every bridge that he had with his friends in L.A. He was never going back. Baby Connor started to stir in his seat and Wesley sighed. He pulled over and put the car in park. Wesley put the hazard lights on and opened the passenger's door.

His mind raced with thoughts as he unbuckled Connor's seat. He grabbed the diaper bag and reached for the formula. Wesley fed Connor and when the bottle was empty, he gently put Connor back in his seat and buckled it. Connor cooed at Wesley and fell back asleep. Wesley sighed and got back into the driver's seat. He turned off the hazard lights and got back onto the road. Wesley's mind continued to race. He needed a minute to think.

He found a local motel in Sunnydale and pulled in. Wesley parked his car and grabbed baby Connor. He got the diaper bag and locked up the vehicle. Connor was fast asleep. He checked into a room under a false name and grabbed the keys from the clerk. Wesley walked to his room and walked inside. He placed baby Connor down and closed the door behind him.

He locked it and checked the windows. He closed the blinds and secured the room. Wesley was in panic mode. He had to protect Connor from Angel. He felt like it was his duty. Wesley walked over to Connor and sat down next to him. He rocked the car seat a little and said,

"I won't let anything happen to you."

Wesley stayed by Connor's side and the sun rose. Once Connor was asleep, Wes fell asleep on the floor next to Connor's car seat. Some time went by and Connor started to cry. He was hungry and needed a diaper change. Wesley was awoken by Connor and grabbed the diaper bag. Wesley unzipped the bag and grabbed the necessary items that Connor needed.

Wesley changed Connor and fed him. He took care of the child as if Connor was his own. He turned on the television that was inside the motel room. He flicked through the channels until he found a cartoon channel that Connor could enjoy. Wesley needed some food so ordered pizza that was delivered to the room. Baby Connor was fussing while Wes was eating dinner. He placed the pizza down and washed his hands. He held Connor and tried to console him.

He must have missed his dad and everyone at the office. Wesley felt bad for Connor, but he knew in his heart that taking Connor away from everyone, especially his dad, was the right thing to do. The day passed with no visitors. Wesley believed that he and Connor were safe. He put baby Connor back into the car seat because he had fallen asleep. Wesley sat against the wall next to him and closed his eyes. Some hours went by when he heard glass break.

Wesley's eyes snapped open and he grabbed his own bag. In the bag there were all kinds of weapons, including stakes. Wesley got into attack mode and Connor started to cry. Wesley listened into the conversation that was going on outside. He went back to the windows and peaked through the blinds to see what was going on. There were bottles being thrown at an unknown man. Wesley opened the blinds to see what was going on.

It sounded like an angry couple that was going through some serious issues. The male's back was to Wesley and he couldn't make out who it was. He had on a black trench coat and it was pouring outside. When the male turned around, Wesley's eyes widened. It was Spike and there was an unknown woman throwing things at him. Wesley shook his head and opened his door.

"Do you people mind?!" Wesley yelled.

Spike's eyes widened when he saw Wesley Wyndam-Pryce standing there. He threw his arms in the air and walked closer.

"Wesley, is that you?!" Spike yelled as he dodged another flying object. He turned to the woman and yelled, "Would you stop?!"

"No!" the woman yelled and kept throwing things at him.

Wesley stepped towards the woman and held his hands up in defense. "Look, I don't know what he did, but he won't be bothering you anymore."

The woman looked at Wesley and grew more angry. She threw her hands in the air and then slammed the door in Wesley's face. Wesley whirled around and heard Connor cry. Wesley ran to Connor and held him in his arms. Spike followed Wesley into the motel room and stopped when he saw the baby.

"So, who is the little niblet?" Spike asked him.

"Would you close the door please?" Wesley asked him.

Spike turned around and closed the door. He turned back around and walked towards Wes with the baby. He made faces at the baby and Connor found them entertaining. Wesley looked at Spike and asked,

"Since when do you like children?"

"I love kids." Spike replied. "I take care of Dawnie."

"How is she?" Wesley asked.

"She's been better." Spike told him and reached out for the kid.

"Careful with him." Wesley said and handed Connor over to Spike.

Spike held baby Connor in his arms and hummed a lullaby from his childhood. It was something his mother used to sing to him. Connor smiled at Spike and made happy baby noises as he looked at Spike. Spike smiled and told Wesley,

"The little one seems to like me."

"Yes he does." Wesley said.

"Who is he?" Spike asked. "What's the little niblet's name?"

"Connor." Wesley replied.

"Yours?" Spike asked.

Wesley shook his head. "Not mine."

"Then who does he belong to?" Spike asked.

"Angel." Wesley replied.

"What the hell?" Spike asked. "There's no way that this little guy could be Angel's." He paused. "We can't procreate."

"Angel and Darla got involved." Wesley said.

"Wait, Darla's alive?" Spike asked.

"Not anymore." Wesley explained. "She and Angel had relations and produced Connor."

Spike placed Connor back in his car seat that was on the floor. He picked up the car seat and placed it on the bed. Wesley sat next to Connor. There was an empty chair in the motel room and Spike sat down. Then he turned his attention back to Wesley.

"Okay, story time, start from the top." Spike demanded.

Spike knew about Darla and Drusilla in L.A, but he had no idea that Angel had fathered a child. He listened to Wesley very carefully as he explained what had happened. When Wesley was finished sharing, Spike shook his head. He got out of the chair and walked to the door. He wrapped his hand around the doorknob when he heard Wesley stand up.

"Spike…" Wesley said.

Spike turned around. "This is crazy." He stated. "This whole thing is crazy!"

"I know, but I had to do it." Wesley said. "I had to."

"You kidnapped Angel's son!" Spike yelled and pointed at the baby.

Wesley put his hands to lower Spike's voice. Spike shook his head and tried to open the door. Wesley walked over to Spike and said,

"We need to think of a plan."

"You think of a plan." Spike said. "Angel is gonna find him and kill whoever took his boy."

"Wait," Wesley said. "Just wait, let me think."

Spike turned to him and shook his head. "You made your bed."

"No, no," Wesley said. "This could work."

"What could work?" Spike asked.

"You could take Connor." Wesley said. "He has no idea that I brought him to Sunnydale. Yes, this could work. He could live with you and learn how to defend himself."

"What do you mean he could live with me?" Spike asked. "There's no way the little bugger is coming with me."

"Spike, think about it!" Wesley said. "He would be protected!"

Spike sighed and thought for a moment. If Angel ever found out that Spike had his son, he would get killed instantly. Then he thought about what Wesley said and reconsidered. The baby would be protected. Spike could protect him and train him as if he were his own. Spike looked at Wesley and shook his head. He reached his arm down and grabbed the car seat.

"Just so you know," Spike said. "This is crazy."

Wesley looked at Spike and nodded. "I know, but he needs to be in hiding. Angel won't suspect you."

"What else does he need?" Spike asked. "You know like…Like baby supplies. I don't know."

Wesley grabbed his diaper bag. "The formula is in there and along with diapers and wipes."

"What about toys?" Spike asked. "Doesn't he need toys?"

"All in the bag." Wesley told him.

"Do you mind if we stay here until the rain clears up?" Spike asked.

Wesley shook his head. "Not at all."

Spike sat down on the bed. "You know he's going to need more than one parent."

"I am aware." Wesley said and fidgeted with his fingers.

Spike looked at him and asked, "Why don't you come with me?"

"What?" Wesley asked. "You mean raise the kid with you?"

"Yeah, it'll be great." Spike said. "You can keep an eye on him during the day and when I have to watch Dawn."

"Are you offering me a place to live?" Wesley asked him.

Spike nodded. "What do you think?"

"I think we can work it out." Wesley said.

Meanwhile, Buffy opened her eyes and was greeted with a popcorn ceiling. Confusion washed over her for a moment. Something wasn't right. Everything was different. The world that she was in had bright lights all around her. Buffy knew this wasn't the right place for her the moment she had opened her eyes. She sat up in her bed and held the covers close to her chest. She was in a bedroom. The walls were covered in some type of flower wallpaper and there were a few posters as well that Buffy hadn't recognized.

"Where am I?" Buffy asked herself.

She stretched and threw the covers off of her. At the foot of her bed was a pair of slippers. Buffy placed her feet into the slippers and heard a commotion downstairs. As she slowly walked to the bedroom door, she felt sick. A part of her wanted to float, but she was tethered to the ground. Something wasn't right. Buffy opened the door and heard two people talking downstairs. One was male and one was female.

Buffy slowly walked downstairs and the conversation grew louder. Buffy stopped midway down the stairs. She inhaled deeply and exhaled. When she had inhaled, she smelled something wonderful. Bacon. It was pancakes and bacon. Buffy finished walking down the stairs and entered the kitchen. Once inside the kitchen, Buffy was greeted by the two people that had talked earlier.

She had no idea who they were. They seemed to care for each other. Buffy sat at the table and started to tremble. The female whirled around and smiled at Buffy. Then her smile changed real quick when she saw her tremble. The female was tall with long blond hair and blue eyes. She walked over to Buffy and asked,

"Megan? What's wrong?"

Buffy was terribly confused. Who were these people and why was she just called Megan? Buffy got up off the chair and ran around the house until she found a bathroom. Thankfully, there was one on the first floor. She quickly locked herself inside and breathed heavily. She looked at her reflection and she screamed. This was not her body.
