Chapter Nine: Pro-Aliens
Today was game day for others, pro-bending was the heart of this city.
Ube, Asami, and Opal walked toward the ticket booth. There plenty of people around yet not too busy, Of course, there are many sports fans but no giant crowds. Ube walked up to the ticket vendor with a big smile.
"Three tickets please," Ube asked.
"That will be 3500 yuan," The ticket vendor said. Ube's jaw dropped at how pricey it was.
"That munch!" Ube said in surprise. "Isn't this team not in the pro league?"
Ube was meant with only an annoyed gaze saying either pay or leave. The young teen pulled out his wallet only to look in horror seeing he was very short on cash. He gave a tired sigh, Ube hated to ask for money, it was something he was never good at. He would always give and never ask. Being in debt was something Ube hated but he didn't want to deny Opal a chance to experience a city classic.
Asami could see the trouble Ube was having up ahead she would solve the problem. Walking to the vendor she pulled out her wallet and gave the man the right amount of money. Ube gave a shy sigh and glanced at Asami as she picked up their tickets.
"Thanks, sorry I'll be you back I swear," Ube said. Asami gave a sly smile at Ube.
"It's fine Ube I got it, You'll own me when you drop by my house tomorrow," Asami said with a sly smile walking into the pro-bending arena entrance. Ube let out a dreamy sigh. Opal grabbed her cousin's arm and dragged him in the direction that Asami went.
"Come on lover boy you daydream while watching the match, We got a game to watch," Opal said. This made Ube blush in embarrassment.
"Opal," Ube hissed in annoyance. Opal only giggled as they entered the large building, the metal floors, and copper pipes. That led to the main hallway to the seats, Every time Ube went to this place he felt like a maze to the young teen. he knew of the science that was directed towards exits and bathrooms, but still trying to fully understand this place and walk through. It was always a chore. Thankfully, they were following a crowd. Then a few more steps and the three were now in the great pro-bending arena.
The playing field consists of a ring and a water pit. Located at the center of the arena, the pro-bending ring is a hexagonal platform where the teams compete in matches. It is separated into two equal sides, one red and one blue, with each split into three zones. Raised at a considerable height, the ring is supported by thick columns that erect out of a water pit below. In addition, twenty-one small discs made of earth are available on each side, recessed into the arena itself, for earthbenders to utilize during competition, while grates run along the lines between zones allowing waterbenders to access water from troughs under the ring. There are also flexible, bouncy ropes on the peripheral sides of the ring, while the two opposing ends are open to a long drop into the water below.
The playing field also has several mobile platforms that allow players to enter the ring. Referees monitor the ring from raised stands at its sides.
Opal was amazed at the sight she saw, this feeling of being in the area where hundreds of pro benders raised from nothing became champions. Asami looked over to see they had some rail seats.
"Come on guys," Asani said as the other two heard her followed her lead, and sat down. Opal sat down but was doing her best to not freak out. This was the moment of great benders to win a great match. The match was looking like it was going to start as the announce spoke through the speakers getting the coward ready.
"Looks like we have a big game, today folks, The match between the fire ferrets and platypus bears is happening today but a word from our sponsor, Cabbage Corp we understand the personal property is important so why not let us cover the damages from us," The announce said while the game was getting ready to start as the lights to the stadium were dimming, only leaving a spotlight on the announcer. The man was dressed in a black suit and purple scarf.
"In this corner, we have the Fire Ferrets!" The announcer called out as a bridge extended to the pro-bending platform. Three people were on that bridge wearing pro, bending armor meant to protect them from harsh fire, and hard rocks. The three were wearing a red-and-white color scheme on their armor. Ube narrows his eyes at one of the fire ferrets, specifically the Earth Bender team member.
"While on the other side, we have the ferocious Wasp Hawks!" The other team wearing black pro-bending gear.
The coward was going while. Opal and Asami were cheering their hearts out for the game to come. Ube had a silent smile as he wasn't one to give loud cheers. Being more of a silent supporter. The smile he had was just seeing his cousin having so much joy brought him inner joy knowing that he could help her see something Opal dreamed of seeing. She gave a shy smile and blushed at the earthbender player, noticing the bulk of the player.
"Eheh that one kind of cute," Opal said. Making a childish giggle. Asami could see one of the players had his helmet off. She would have said the same thing but knew that was the team firebender. Ube gave a soft chuckle at Opal's love daze. He didn't want to joke or tease Opal, this was her first game, and Ube didn't want to mess that up. The bell rang and the two teams went to town.
"That right folks the night has begun with a great start off from the two bending brothers, and looks like Bolin is leading the charge," The announcer from the booth called out, Ube winced at the name remembering who Bolin was as Ube mind flashed back,
"Don't jump, you got so much to live for!" A strong young teen said from below on the street. Ube looked for the edge to see only one person standing in the empty street.
He had slick back hair, green eyes all on a roundish face, and wore a green shirt with black plants. His shoes are black and white socks reached his calves.
"What are you talking about?" Ube shouted.
"Don't worry my name is Bolin, I know life seems sad but look on the bright side. Your life is great." He shouted. Ube was completely lost thinking that this person thought he was jumping off a building in a suicide attempt.
"What!? I'm not doing anything, I just came on top of this building to think!" He shouted back.
"Really? I don't know man that sounds like you're thinking about it." Bolin asked. Ube smacked his forehead in frustration.
"I'm Bolin, Don't worry if you fall I can catch you, I'm an earth bender." He said.
"Uh Hi," Ube said in an awkward voice. Bolin still shouted with his hopes up. "It's an okay man. Sometimes we feel bad but it gets better, also just to let you know. I'll catch you with the rocks."
"Not that guy," Ube said.
"What was that?" Opal asked.
"I would stay away from the guy, he's got brick for brains," Ube said. "Though I think his heart is in the right place,"
Ube watched with great intent but his eyes picked up on something else across the other side of the stands. He could see the bulky bounty hunter, hiding in the entrance to the stands. His strange mask looking right at Ube, the young teen thought that the green triangle was this creature's eye but if this thing were here; then the trouble wasn't far behind.
He took a long sigh and stood up from his seat.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom," Ube said.
Opal had a sad look on her face but knew never to question nature's call.
"Okay just hurry I don't want you to miss anything," Opal said.
"Of course, I'll be right back," Ube said as he ran into the halls. Opal continued to watch the game, while Asami couldn't help but feel suspicious. She knew that Ube would be talking tomorrow when he came over to her house. It seemed there could have been trouble tomorrow.
Ube ran down the hall to the other side of the Colosseum running in the long hallways. Hoping to find the alien he saw. He ran to the spot where he saw it, only to see it was gone.
"What?" Ube said in confusion. The heard a loud thud behind him. His attention shot towards a door behind him. Ube took a nervous gulp and slowly approached the door. He walked down into the hallway, seeing janitorial, closet, restrooms, and What looked like break rooms. He kept walking until he passed a big room, he quickly glanced inside realizing this was the training room. It was very spacious. It was matted with padding to protect the players. Ube held his ground and twisted the dial to his Ommnitrix. The room is covered in darkness, but with the Omnitrix illuminating his face, he has some vision of the area around him. Right now the young Shapeshifting hero was on edge, trying to figure out his next move.
"If you're going to use it, then use it, Waiting for your enemies surely going to get you killed," The Voice of someone came from behind him. Ube swiftly turns around to see Krab. Ube without hesitation, slam down on the watch. A bright green light flashes throughout the room.
"Heatblast" Ube yelled his battle cry. "Aw, man I was hoping for goop,"
He looked down at his body to see he was in his fire form, it was risky but he was sure that he could stop this machine.
"Up for round two!" Heatblast said as he ignited his hands two giant fireballs appeared in them. He felt nervous, even activating the flames but Heatblast would make sure everyone was safe from this machine. He threw a ball of fire at Krab but he stood unfazed as the metal didn't even glow from the flames.
He marched forward with his crab legs and opened his giant claw shooting a white cloud of ice could dust hit Heatblast.
Heatblast let out a cry of pain, The feeling of the cold material that extinguished his flames was painful but he wasn't feeling so hot anymore. He fell to the patted floor. Heatblast lost his warm colors and was more like a put-out campfire.
"I've hunted thousands of alien species, beating a Pyronite is day one of learning to be good at my job," Krab said, picking the dull Heatblast and tossing him to the wall. Heatblast felt so weakened but got right up and punched Krab in the face. Krab quickly slammed his claw into Heatblast, pinning him to the wall. Heatblast was trying to get the claw off him but had failed.
Krab glared at HeatBlast with his lifeless robotic eyes.
"I'm not going to underestimate you a second time now, hold still while I remove my payday from your chest," Karb said, reaching the Omnitrix that was on Heatblast's chest. Heatblast struggled against his bonds, making it very hard for this captor to try and touch him.
"Stop squirming or else I'll make those two females you were hanging out with rule the day they met you," Krab threatened in an uncaring voice, knowing that their lives meant nothing, as long as he got his payment. A deep memory of great pain flooded his mind, the day he lost his mother, seeing her lifeless on the ground edged into the back of his mind. He wouldn't leave that pain ever again. The temperature of the room became scorching hot.
Heatblast regained his warm complexion and glowing fire within. His hands which gripped Krab's metal claw started to heat up. Heatblast eyes became bright with a Fiery rage. Krab was taken back as a wave of fire flung the space bounty hunter to the wall. This room was made to handle fire benders that could raise fires at very hot temperatures, but the matted walls were already turning brown and brittle. Krab looked back up to see the white fire coolant evaporated into steam off Heatblast rocky steam. As he walked forward each step Heatblast took was lit on fire and unleashed a blast of uncontrolled fire, Krab dogged the attack.
Krab was about to get up when he found a heated foot on his chest. The fire alien head flames were flicking out of control. Ube never got mad in his life, but now that the cap was open he couldn't close it. He was boiling mad.
"HEY SIX SIX YOU WANT TO LEND ME A HAND!" Krab yelled out. Heatblast felt his back being peppered with the red-hot laser blast, forcing him to the floor. SixSix landed with his pistols, drawn by his hands, and two more being held by mechanical tentacles. Though Heatblast got back up and immediately shot two flames with each hand specifically for that target, Krab was hit back against the wall but SixSix dodged the attack and disarmed Heatblast stance by low kicking the back of his leg.
Heatblast landed on the hard-patted floor before he could even attempt to get up. Heatblast was slammed on the floor but he wouldn't let up his flames as he blasted the two of them back Krab and SixSix pushed through the flames and wailed on Heatblast. The fire alien held his arms up to protect himself but they were getting hits in. Heatblast tried to get up but found an alien guy jammed in his face slamming his head back.
"Yats Nwod Dna Evig Won," SixSix barked.
"Better listen to him now kid or else," Krab said now pining Heatblast to the floor. Heatblast was struggling against the duo. Heatblast couldn't get up and knew if he went into inferno mode, he would be put out. Not to mention the fire was related to his anger, That inner voice of reason forbade him from acting like that again. What was he going to do? It was then out of the shadow of the room, the third bounty hunter showed his face and launched a smoke bomb at SixSix and Krab. The two fell over trying to get away from it.
Before SixSix could pull the trigger Heatblast was taken by a blur, as the third mysterious bounty Hunter rode his overboard and grabbed Heatblast by the arm. In a couple of seconds, they were zooming in the far halls and out the window. To a lower plate form.
Krab and SixSix got up regaining their composure. Krab glances at the door to where his target had escaped, and from the looks of it; he had help.
"Looks like we got to go with plan b," Krab said as she stood up and walked out of the door.
Heatblast tried to regain any sense of what was happening right now, though he didn't know that the stranger was carrying him away. He felt a grip of iron titan around his lava arm. Heatblast wanted to blast this person but before he could, his mysterious captor landed them on a lower platform underneath the stadium and tossed Heatblast to the plate form. Heatblast bounced off the metal floor and quickly got into a stance. The mysterious bounty hunter landed on the platform, slipping his hoverboard from his feet to his hands as it collapsed, and safely was in a pod for which he sat on his belt.
Heatblast raised his hands ready to attack. "Listen to me pal stay where you are or else-," Heatblast was cut off as the mysterious bounty hunter blurred to where he was, and tapped the Omnitrix that was on Heatblast's chest. In a flash of green light, he was back to normal. In his human form befuddled at what had just happened.
"What?" Ube said in shock. He glanced up to see the monstrous mountain of an alien standing in front of him. Ube gulped but still held his hands up in a boxing style.
"Well, you may be big," Ube said as he came to a sudden pause knowing that there were not that many good outcomes.
"And I am very small," Ube comments as he looks around the area to plan his escape.
"Billions of beings on this planet and the Omnitirixs lands on the wrist of a full-hearted youth," The Stranger said with an unimpressed tone of voice. Ube narrowed his eyes at the stranger.
"Well like I told your buddies the watch doesn't come off, believe me, I've tried," Ube said keeping his guard up.
"Of course, it doesn't, its power uses alien DNA, which binds to the host genetic structure," The Stranger turned around and was more flabbergasted at what was happening. "It can't be simply removed like taking off a hat."
Ube narrowed his eyes at this stranger. Something was off and he could tell, this guy did save him and was explaining stuff to him. Ube still holding his guard up took a nervous gulp.
"Why are you telling me this? Who are you" Ube asked. The stranger turned around and his triangle glowed green and steam came from the sides of the mask as the mask opened back to relieve a face made of diamond, he was composed entirely of pale green/blue crystals, which are of a very hard and durable diamond-like substance. A sharp chin and blocky face along with his back head forming a shape spike. Ube was amazed at the being in front of him.
"You're an alien," Ube stated as he lowered his arms. Tetrax nodded at the youth seeing he was more smarter than he thought.
"My name is Tetrax Shard, I'm here to take the most powerful device off your wrist and give it to a better hand that will keep it safe," Tetrax said. Ube was flabbergasted but quickly pulled out of it hearing Tetrax's words.
"Look I need this to protect people, I can't give it to you," Ube said holding his wrist out.
"A noble intention, but you are unaware that is key to an epic battle between good and evil," Tetrax said. Ube didn't want to be fooled but knowing he had the most powerful weapon in the universe was a lot to handle.
"Which side are you on?" Ube asked.
"You still alive aren't you," Tetrax stated with a smirk. Ube was taken back and felt a sense of justice in himself.
"You're a good guy like me?" Ube asked. Tetrax crossed his arms and tilted his head.
"I will admit you are a cleaver but you still lack experience, you were caught off guard and it almost cost your life and Omnitrixs, not to mention your temper got the best of you," Tetrax stated. Ube gripped his fist in anger thinking back at what they said, threatening his family.
"It won't happen again," Ube said.
"Why's that?" Tetrax asked narrowing his eyes.
"Because I'm not gullible to fall for things twice," Ube said. Tetrax understood that this was a noble warrior but he and to do the right thing.
"It is my sole mission to escort the Omnitrixs to be stored safely, seeing you're attached to it I have to escort you, so it can be removed,"
"To where?" Ube asked.
"To Galvan prime," Tetrax said plainly like it was common knowledge.
"And where's Galvan Prime?" Ube asked generally wondering where this place was. Tetrax pointed up and Ube quickly realized what he meant. In space the deep black infinitely stars, to a youngster it sounded amazing but a young teen with a family and home that he couldn't leave behind. Not a dream come true.
"Sorry, but that's not happening. I have family and friends here that I'm not just leaving behind!" Ube shouted. Tetrax grabbed his shoulders and narrowed his eyes.
"If you stay you'll have no family or home left," Tetrax said, snapping Ube into a listening mood. Ube took a deep breath and gently pushed the hands that held him away from him.
"OK! I'm not leaving my family behind, understand me," Ube said with a hint of "try me" in his tone.
They stared at each other, and then Tetrax backed away making some space between them, and got into a fighting stance.
"Then make me understand," Tetrax challenged. Ube rolled his shoulders and looked down at the Omnitrix. He twisted the dial.
"Alright, I'll bring it," Ube yelled as he slammed down on the watch. A bright green light covered his body as he felt his body harden and grow he felt his inside become sharper. After the light was gone he looked down to see he was as big as Four Arms, his body was now a blue-green crystal-like substance. Two giant shards sticking out of his back. His body from his torso to his legs was covered in a hard blue rock substance. Tetrax eyes widen seeing the form before him.
Ube glanced at himself and back to Tetrax, smirking. "Hey, I'm like you,"
"No, you're not, I'm a noble warrior, and you're a kid over his head," Tetrax said. Ube laughed at the comment.
"You ever hear about fighting fire with fire," Ube jokes.
Asami and Opal watched the match both enjoying the game but Opal felt something was off and glanced at the empty seat by her side. She noticed her cousin had been gone for a long time, and that made her a bit nervous. Opal turned towards Asami and gave a concerned gaze.
"Is he always this late?" Opal asked. Asami shrugged her shoulders realizing this is the first time they hung out. Opal got up from her seat and walked into the hallways, they were so quiet and empty, all the people were too busy watching the game. She walked down the hall trying to find Ube. She moved down the hall to the men's room.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
Opal stopped when she heard a loud sharp tapping behind her. She spun around to see no one there. She quickly turned around only to find a sharp black alien hand covering her mouth. Muffling Opal so she wouldn't call for help. Her eyes met the strange Six Six holding her still and Krab who stared at her with his dead robot eyes.
"Hello bait, you're gonna get us our payday," Krab said, smiling bringing his face dangerously near Opal's panicked face. She wanted to scream and run but it all was in a muffled vein.
Ube, who was in his diamond head form, was lying on his back. Taking a deep breath as he worked, his body cracked a little. Mostly it was his hands that were cracked. The two had battled for a short time but Ube was safely
Tetrax was still standing and crossed his arms unimpressed by the dual they had. Ube flashed back to his normal form, he slowly got up.
"He kept hitting so fast, ow! not to mention my side ache," Ube thought. Tetrax walked over, and Ube glanced up thinking he was going to meet the end. Only for Tetrax to help him back to a strong stance. One glanced at the alien in surprise.
"Oh, thanks," Ube said. Tetrax put his hands on his hips, making a strong presence. Even if Tetrax didn't know he was doing it unintentionally. The teen rolled his neck and tried to give a smile to lighten the situation.
"I guess you win," Ube said, Tetrax still stood with the same stone-cold face.
"You know you should smile more, maybe you can't smile. I bet all the ladies would go crazy, you know what they say. Diamonds are a girl's best friend" Ube said, trying to lighten up the mood. Though Tetrax didn't budge or smile at anything said. "You do know where we're from? There's a big thing called humor, here right?"
Ube was faced with the hard truth and he had to face it. Ube lowered his head in defeat.
"Fine you win, take me away," Ube said, trying to hide a sniffle. Ube wanted to fight back but if what Tetrax said was true he couldn't run.
"But before I can go, can I at least say goodbye to my family, I just met my cousin for the first time and I don't want to go without saying goodbye. Tetrax couldn't help but acknowledge the warrior who stood before him. He could see the owner, but he could also see the pain in his eyes. Tetrax couldn't help but see himself and this young warrior. ambitious, strong, and so foolish.
"Maybe, maybe I could change it, this one," Tetrax thought. Before the alien bounty hunter could speak another voice cut him off.
"That can be arranged!" Krab spoke who landed on the plate form and in his claw was Opal, her lip quivering, and I showing nothing but fright. Opal looked at Ube and halted her breath.
"Ube run!" She yelled. Opal let out a yelp of pain as Krab tightened his claw.
"Get your filthy hands off her!" Ube yelled without thinking and ran at them but was stopped when Terax held him back.
"Don't act out of haste!" Tetrax informed. That diamond armor held him back, but he just wanted to go over there and rip that machine apart if he did something. "Stay back I'll handle this,"
"Now will you step away from our payday," Krab said as he pointed at Tetrax.
Tetrax pulled out his weapon and held it up at the Krab. Then without warning SixSix swooped down from the air swiping the weapon and the hoverboard from Tetrax's back. The two ran from the gunfire, it was then Tetrax slammed his hands on the metal floor the next moment Ube knew he and Tetrax were encased in a giant teal crystal. He gazed at Tetrax seeing how his arms had formed the some around the two.
"Aw, man how can I do that! Focus I have to have Opal from those creeps and Tetrax says what he is, then I have to ask," Ube thought. Tetrax could hear Krab's claw smashing into his crystal dome. The blast of SixSix guns echoed off as well. Tetrax had a worried expression sure they took his hoverboard, but that wasn't his main form of transportation off this planet he could leave right now, but risk killing an innocent he would never do.
"Hey Tetrax you wanna take these losers down with me because I got a plan," Ube said. Tetrax narrowed his eyes and calmly spoke trying to think about the situation they were in.
"They'll be expecting many of your strong, physical forms," Tetrax started. "You must stay here and safe,"
"Listen I know you don't trust me but I have to save my cousin, please I have a plan and as soon as this is all over, I will go with you," Ube said wanting just to save someone in need. Tetrax Hunter deeply on what was said I glanced at the young teenager, realizing that there was no other option.
"What's your plan?" Tetrax asked.
which made Ube have a devilish smile. He twisted the dial and showed the image on the Omnitrix.
"What about this one," Ube said, in a rare moment Tetrax's crystal lips formed into a smirk, and glanced at the human before him.
"That could work," Tetrax said.
Outside of the dome, the two bounty hunters will be coming quickly impatient that they couldn't break through that Crystal, now knowing their third member of the bounty hunting group was a Petrosapien, they might as well hit their heads against a rock wall. The crystals the species produced were known to be incredibly durable. Only beings of great strength were able to crack it open. It is famously used as currency throughout many planets. Krab slammed his claw into the dome, thankful Six Six was the one holding Opal back, but as soon as that middle class slammed down it showed signs of breaking.
"I thought these things were extinct!" Krab barked in annoyance. Opal watched on in horror, wishing that her cousin would be safe and that these spirits would let her go. She thought they were supposed to protect people, not hurt them.
"Tusj Od Ti, Ouy Gib Hsrat Nac!" SixSix yelled. Krab turned around and pointed a finger at his alien companion.
"Well, you don't have to get personal about it," Krab said. Before they could argue any further, they noticed a bright green flash of light appear from the crystal dome. When it fell they could only see Tetrax with his hands raised into the air. Karb walked forward but couldn't see the target.
"Let the girl go, the Target is already gone, she is not part of this," Tetrax said. Karb and Six Six held their weapons up high.
"Oh, she's a part of this all right, she's our bait! Don't tell me under that hard diamond shell, is a soft coward," Krab yelled. He slowly walked over to the surrendering Tetrax. Krab harshly clasped Tetrax's neck and hosted him off the ground.
"Where that flesh bag or else you'll be in a very tight bind," Krab said. Tetrax just smirked at the robot. Then when the word escapes Krab's voice box, Gray Matter jumps from behind Tetrax's back and crawls onto Krab's claw. And making his tiny way into Krab's neck slot.
Krab stumbled back and quickly grabbed all over himself trying to find the alien that snuck into his body.
"Get it off me!" Krab yelled as he scrambled around, trying to get this alien off his body. Opal saw a little creature enter Krab's body. She could say it looked like a frog but all she wanted right now was to be free. Though she did worry about the disappearance of a cousin, slowly, even in this panic situation, she connected the dots.
"Was that Ube?" She thought. SixSix Glance was on Krab but that was his fatal mistake, as Tetrax shot a couple of shards right into SixSix's helmet, knocking the alien's head back. His grip on Opal loosened and Tetrax ran at SixSix and delivered a righteous uppercut right into the alien strain helmet knocking SixSix out cold. Opal was about to fall when Tetrax grabbed her before she could hit the floor.
Opal was taken back by the diamond creature before her, and took a nerve scope, for his yellow eyes were piercing as swords.
"Are you alright," Tetrax asked, to which Opal could only respond with a meek nod.
Tetrax glanced at Six Six seeing he was out on the ground. Switching his attention toward the out-of-control Krab from deep within his metal body, Gray Matter felt like he was in some sort of great giant mechanism with gears and pumps and steam moving. everywhere. Despite seeing this complicated layout of machinery, Gray Matter in a fraction of a second understood what he was looking at and that this complex machinery was child's play. He crawled around until he reached two wires and smirked, understanding where they went.
"I guess I'm more intelligent than this one, they are used to being a beacon complex word right there I am smart," Gray Matter quickly snapped back to the stack at hand grabbed the two wires, and started to pull on them.
"This should be the near cluster here somewhere!" Ube said as he yanked on the cords as hard as he could. Ripping apart the delicate wiring. Krab felt his body stop and slowly become inactive.
"No stop!" Krab yelled. Gray matter grabbed another nerve cluster and ripped it to shreds. A shock of electricity went to Krab's body, followed by smoke leaking from his head. Krab had a momentary pause and quickly fell on his back, paralyzed in his own body. Gray Matter slowly crawled out and could see his cousin was safe. Tetrax was about to say something only to be cut off as SixSix blasted him with a giant red laser. falling and Jade and weekly trying to get up from the floor. SixSix gradually walked towards Tetrax, then Opal stopped SixSix in his path, as she held her arms out.
"Get away from him," Opal said, but she let out a yelp when SixSix grabbed her by the throat and revealed his other arm was a red laser, but saw revving to cut something. Opal's eyes widened in horror.
"No! She is not a part of this!" Tetrax yelled. Opal was afraid but she still held out hope that she would be saved.
"HEY, WHY DON'T YOU PICK ON SOMEONE YOU'RE OWN SIZE!" Gray Matter yelled as he jumped on SixSix's Proto back. Gray Matter stuck his hand in between this technical machine and quickly grabbed onto delicate wiring. SixSix let go of Opal as he tried to reach behind his back.
"I told you to stay out of my!" Tetrax said.
Gray Matter then grabbed the wiring and had a giant smirk on his amphibious face. Pulling the wiring to shreds. then without warning SixSix jet pack was activated and Gray Matter held on for dear life.
The jet pack went off flying so fast and having no control slammed his head on the metal ceiling above, actually making a dent in it. Then with a couple more crazy uncontrolled maneuvers, SixSix smashed to the floor as the alien bounty hunter was rendered unconscious. An exhausted, gray matter, climbed off the alien bounty hunter's back and laid on his hands, staring at the ceiling, taking deep breaths, like he had just gone on a roller coaster of his life.
Tetrax slowly got up and started down at the young hero. Opal was watching from afar unsure what to say or do. Tetrax glanced down at Gray Matter and smirked at the small alien. He walked over to retrieve his belongings.
"Not bad for a human," Tetrax said. Gray Matter smiled but froze as the Omnitrix started to flash red; for his time in this form was finished. Then a red flash Ube was back. He smiled at himself and was relieved of tension, seeing the two bounty hunters were unconscious. The battle was won today and everybody was safe and all was good. Except one thing.
"WHAT THE HECK!" Opal yelled from the sidelines. Ube froze as he slowly turned to his right to see Opal with a jaw-dropped expression. Ube was so caught in the fight he had forgotten Opal was there. Ube left out an awkward laugh and scratched the back of his neck.
"I guess that explains my absences," Ube said in an awkward tone of voice. Tetrax could see the two unconscious bounty hunters were next to each other. Taking this moment he took a strange device off his hip. It was a strange, glowing, cube. Held by black pinchers and aided with a handle. Tetrax grips the handle, releasing the cube as it shoots towards you unconscious, bounty hunters, growing an exponential rate in golfing that you begin, and immediately shrinking down to its original size. The cube floated back to Tetrax's hands, as he stuffed it behind his belt. Ube and Opal's eyes widened at what had happened.
"You don't see that every day," Ube mumbled.
"Are they dead? Opal asked.
"No, but they won't be bothering you anymore!" Tetrax said.
Tetrax slowly walked forward and gave Ube a silent gaze. The young teenager knew what was to come next. He gave a sad glance at Opal.
"It was nice to meet you, Opal, sorry I couldn't explain anything sooner to you. I got to go." Ube said. Making the girl confused by his words.
"Wait what are you- Hey Ube come back here," Opal said as Ube held his head down and walked towards Tetrax.
"I'm sorry Opal but this thing on my wrist, is the reason why those guys came after me and then went after you, I can't let that happen to the people I love, so I have to go," Ube said.
"Alright if what you say is true, then take me away," Ube said. Opal was shocked at the declaration. She ran over to Ube, blocking Tetrax from Ube, this shocked Ube at the action.
'What is she doing?" Ube Thought.
"Stop he's not going with you understand!" Opal yelled getting into Tetrax's face. She was scared but she would stand in front of this crystal giant to save her family.
"I may have not known Ube for long but I know you can't just take him away, he has family, friends, and a place that's his home, so no he won't be coming with you, TO THE SPIRIT WORLD GOT IT! " Opal yelled.
Ube was touched as Opal was now on the bridge of tears. Tetrax raised his arm, and Ube was about to run head first to stop the attack, even if Omnitirx was out of charge, he wouldn't let another be hurt on his watch. However, it was no attack as Tetrax gently put his hand on Opal's shoulder and spoke gently.
"I'm not taking him away," The two were confused by his words. Ube walked forward with a confused gaze.
"But you said that I was in danger, That this thing was the most powerful weapon in the universe, That I would put my family in danger, what made you change your mind?" Ube asked unsure what to think. Tetrax kept his smirk and held his hand out pointing at Ube.
"You did, I think that device fell into the right hands, besides you're more capable than I thought," Tetrax said turning his back to Ube, Then he began to walk away. Opal and Ube were confused about what was going on here.
"Where are you going?" Ube yelled at Tetrax. Ube using the information he witnessed from today thought Tetrax was going to fly away on that strange hoverboard. "Are you going to fly away on that hoverboard can it go through space!"
"This board does not matter, it was selective disinformation, to make the other think it was important," Tetrax said. Ube was very confused by the words that Tetrax said. Opal could see the confusion and wanted to help her cousin.
"He lied Ube," Opal whispered.
"Oh yeah that makes sense," Ube whispered back. Tetrax pushing a device on his belt glanced at the two. Then he tossed his hoverboard over towards Opal. "Here that might serve you better than it did me,"
"Ube I'll be back, you are strong but I'll be back to teach you how to be an honorable warrior, you might encounter dangerous forces but never forget your brave might, it is what makes you able to stand to those who seek power for their game." Tetrax tapped the button and vanished in a pure light that zoomed off the planet into space. However, Vligax watched his screen seeing the beings he hired had failed him.
"Betrayed," Vilgax crooked out in anger. He watched from his screen as one of his servants spoke.
"My lord the sencers indicate that the Omnitirix is not with the mercenaries," The servant spoke.
"It appears this creature who holds the Omnitirxs is clever as it is fierce," Vilgax said but his hand tightened so much it might have turned coal into diamonds. "But I will have what has been denied to me!"
Opal and Ube but mostly Opal were left with their jaws dropped. She switched her head towards her cousin and grabbed his shoulders. After seeing everything that happened today topped off by her shapeshifting cousin, she needed an answer."
"What was that!" Opal yelled. Ube pulled on his collar and gave an awkward cough unsure of what to say.
"So uh hey what do you know of aliens," Ube asked trying to lighten up the conversation. Opal was so lost and confused that she was about to punch someone in the face.
"You owe me an explanation right now Ube that was not normal in the slightest you hear me," Opal said. Uber knew she was right and gave a tired sigh. Opal wasn't trying to be mean or anything but after witnessing what she did, she had to have some explanation she didn't even think those were spirits. Not to mention her cousin was keeping secrets from her the first time they met granted she did wish that he did keep them to himself, but still, the action did hurt.
"Opal I tell you when we get home, I'm so sorry you got caught up in this," Ube said, though a glaring issue appeared in his mind.
"Wait you're gonna miss the game and Asami alone we got to go back," Ube said in an alarm tone of voice. Opal had a "Are you kidding me face" but she would go with the flow of this crazy situation. and in all honesty opinion she was enjoying the pro-bending game. It couldn't hurt just to go back and watch it, and if your cousin was as loyal and protective as he was today, who was she to judge? Right now they were stranded on this platform at the sea. Below them didn't look so inviting as the waves crashed against the support beams.
Ube fidgeted with his watch, but it wouldn't budge, as he ran out the timer. In truth, to get to this platform, you need to get a boat or in other cases fly. Opal gazed at the machine. She did not truly understand what she was holding. then she recollected it on the conversation Ube and Tetrax had moments ago.
"Wonder what a hoverboard does," Opal said. she pushed the button on the device, and soon sprung to life I said, expanded into a hoverboard. Her eyes lit up like a child going to the festival and without hesitation, hopped on. Ube was so fixated on trying to get the watch, working that he didn't notice his cousin's actions as she was now flying through the air with Grace and ease.
"Come on work you-AW!" Ube was cut off when he was yanked away by Opal as she recklessly flew on her hoverboard and off the platform into safer land.
"This is really dangerous!" Ube yelled out.
The Pro-bending game had been almost near its climatic end, However, Asami was all alone, she feared that maybe her new friends ditched her, so why even bother staying. Despite being a person with much wealth and power, she didn't have that many friends, she would keep that information to herself. Though her suspicions of Ube made her stay. In her eyes, she saw Ube as a complete mystery.
"It looks like the finale match is coming up folks and I tell you, I hate to miss this one," The announcer said with great joy. Asami was about to get up when in a blur Opal and Ube ran out of the exit and took their seats. Asami glanced at the two seeing they were out of breath. She raised her hand holding her index finger wanting to know what happened.
"Got Lost!" Ube said, trying to catch his breath. Asami rose an eyebrow at Opal who was in the same state. Though she held a strange orb to her side. Asami thought it was sort of bag but she could see they were very tired.
"I got lost trying to find him," Opal stated. Asami couldn't help but laugh at the two making them turn their head at her.
"Yep, officially, you two are definitely related," Asami joked. Making the two have an awkward drop of sweat. Ube turned his head to watch the scoreboard seeing it was tied neck to neck. It appeared the fire ferrets were getting pushed back, Ube may have not known the rules of the game but he did know that the fire ferret's bender was falling behind. It was some guy who had looked more annoyed to play the game.
But he didn't last too long as he was knocked out of the ring, it looked like this was going to be a short game, even their Bolin was falling behind. All seemed lost for the fire ferrets. When suddenly the Firebender pulled out a last-ditch attack, that won the game. The whole coward lost and even Asami jumped from her seat, actually excited to see such flame to bring a win. Opal thought it was great but the true magic was in the crowd, seeing people of all nations cheer and smile together. Ube couldn't help but admire Asami's smile, it made her shine like the sun.
The game off without a hitch and the day was saved for now so why couldn't they just act like kids for one day? The three enjoyed the final match. As the winners of this match were the Fire ferrets.
After a couple of hours, they all sat on the trolley on the way home. The sun had set and the curfew was soon going to be in place. The trolley stopped as Asami stood up.
"It was nice to meet you, Opal," Asami said with a smile. "Hey if you want I invited your cousin here over to my house you're free to come as well,"
"Really! Thank you," Opal said appreciating the gesture. Asami started to walk away not before giving a final glance to Ube.
"Ube, please make it tomorrow I just need to talk to you," Asami asked in a serious tone, but there was a soft undertone in her voice. Ube has a heartfelt look back, his face showing how profound he was about not letting down a promise. Asami nodded and left the trolley to a personal automobile limo. Now that Asami was gone it was only Opal and Ube.
"I'll tell you everything when we get home, please bear with me a little longer," Ube said, this only made Opal more tense but she had faith in her family. After a long trip home and a grueling walk back to the apartment. After Ube opened the door he began to rummage through the kitchen. Opal raised an eyebrow at what Ube was activity.
"Uh, what are you doing?" Opal asked to take a seat in the living room. Ube was only there for a couple of minutes, however, that's all of the time you need to prepare a nice tea set.
"I've learned tea goes well with surprising news, it's how I break the bad news to my mom," Ube said. They sat down as Opal didn't take a cup but her eyes were glaring at Ube.
"What are you and how did you transform?" Opal asked in a calm tone of voice.
"Well, you see I'm human and those strange monsters you keep seeing today aren't spirits but their aliens," Ube said. Opal's eyes widened at the word that was just said, all of her imagination an alien would never come up. She thought the idea was absolute madness. Beings that live in the stars, in the great heaven, above thinking, that only the greatest of spirits had the right to dwell within the stars. Opal immediately took a sip of her tea.
"You're right Tea does go well with news," Opal said.
"Why those guys or after me well…" Ube paused and glanced at his wrist, knowing that's where the Omnitrix was. "They were after this, device on my wrist,"
"They were trying to kill you over a watch," Opal asked.
"This isn't just some watch, the first time I found it, I thought I saw a meteor crashing into the park. It turns out I was pretty far from that, it was a metal sphere holding it, and the moment I got close to it this thing literally attached itself to me. I can't get it off for the life of me. However, after a couple of mishaps and mistakes, I started to get the hang of, it and started using this watch to help people. I found my purpose with this thing I've gone around, stopping the gangs and saving the helpless," Ube admitted. Opal was a bit in awe after hearing the story. It honestly sounded like it was in one of those weekly Fire Nation manga panels.
"So let me get this straight, you're a superhero," Opal asked.
"Pretty much yeah, I'm a superhero," Ube said. Opal let out a loud sigh and gently put down her cup.
"You're crazy, you know that right," Opal said.
"I know I'm sorry you got caught up in my weird busy life, I understand if you hate me or if you want to leave," Ube said. Opal put a soft hand on Ube's shoulder.
"Are you kidding me, you have to be one of the coolest family members ever, and I've met Toph, I just got a hoverboard from a space alien I'm never gonna leave," Opal said with such excitement. Ube found himself overwhelmed with joy and relief. Sometimes he felt like the weight of the world was on his shoulders. Having a person who understood what he was doing, and why, brought him some comfort
"This was great, when is the next adventure gonna happen, Because I'm all for it," Opal said.
"Really? I mean aren't you kind of freaked out or something?" Ube asked.
"Ube I'll be real with you I live in a world made by family, it was safe and I was stuck there in the great Metal clan city, and yet I felt trapped, I felt like the whole world around me, was passing me by," Opal the took a deep breath and glanced at Ube. "The truth is Ube, I'm not visiting I ran away from home,"
"What!?" Ube said in shock.
"Listen, you told me your truth, it's only fair that I do the same. Besides, you might need a little more help out there than you think." Opal said with a smile. "If you want to kick me out,"
"No, I won't do that even if you weren't family I always help people, that's just who I am, you're welcome in this house any day, besides you're a cool cousin, even though you're a tiny bit of a dweeb," Ube said. Opal playfully raised her eyebrows.
"Well, at least I didn't destroy the road to Mr. Shi's shop," Opal said with a smug smile. "Doofus,"
They both had to laugh at each other, knowing that all this misfortune certainly did bring them closer together. Then. He heard the sound of the door unlocking. Ube ears perked up.
"Oh, that's mom, you're gonna love her," Ube left his seat but before going to the front door he gently put a hand on his cousin's shoulder. "Listen, that little runaway secret stays between us. I don't want my cousin going away anytime soon."
Opal nodded, "Thank you,"
"don't mention it," Ube said.
The door opened as Lin was looking very tired and overworked. The body of the crime boss stirred up the apartment to deal with piles of paperwork. It was all a pain to deal with and not to mention a new crime boss was in the streets, and they didn't even know who it was. No leads or clues. And armed robberies went up the roof last night.
"Hey Mom I have a surprise for you," Ube said. Lin shook her head and gave a stiff laugh.
"Trust me I've run out of surprises today. Did you get takeout? Or did you make a new dish? Or better yet get a girlfriend," Lin said as she hung up her coat.
"Even better," Ube said gesturing to his cousin, to come out. Opal stepped out and Lin had a puzzled face at this newcomer. Lin's detective senses were already acting up. She recognized the clothing and she oddly could see some strange familiarity of this girl.
"This is Opal, she's your niece! Ta-da!" Ube said with a bit of pizzazz.
"It's nice to meet you," Opal said. However, the reaction they were hoping for did not match their expectations as the police chief was very still and unresponsive
"Mom are you-
"NO!" Lin shouted so loud the whole city could have heard her.
That's chapter 9, my dear readers. Now sorry for such a long wait, I've been busy with School and work. Though that should change soon I wouldn't worry. Anyway, important news I've decided to post one chapter a week, so it's is gonna be a one chapter for one of the other stories. Other than that, we have a first playlist of aliens filled up. Sorry, we didn't see much of Diamond Head, but will see more of him and Ube learning to use him for probably. Also, Tetrax will be returning of course as a teacher. We all know it and want it. Opal being a runway is something I really wanted to write about, we learn that in book 3. That Opal wanted to see the world and adventures so why not let her curiosity run loose? Her mother went all over the world at a young age and disregarded for family. But enough bashing of Sue even though she deserves it. So an important question on most people's minds is what's my opinion on Legend of Korra, well I greatly enjoyed the story, though some choices with characters could have done better. Korra is a good avatar and she had many changeless to face that not many past avatars know what to do. Though I do wish Korra to work for her avatar state. So there that, also I don't like what they did to the spirits In LoK
Book 2 is a little strange but I've come to a new problem in the story, I don't Know WHO TO SHIP UBE WITH, but I LOVE KORRa. ASAMI and UBE THEIR BOTH GOOD! I'm sorry I'm just a man who can't choose! The next Chapter should be a little shocking. See you next time :) Also if you have an idea for the next playlist which we won't see for a while tell me.
