"Okay, people. Here's what's up," a teenaged boy said as we see an overlook of Planet Earth from the outside. "Here's our peaceful planet. Everything looks normal, right-"
"Excuse me," a teenaged girl piped up as we heard a record scratch and walked in. "Rex, what are you doing? I thought we agreed that I was the one who was going to tell the story this time."
"Did we do that? I don't remember. Come on, Roxanne. You know I do the story better."
"First of all, it's Roxie, not Roxanne. Second of all, you told the story like ten times already. It's my turn and you know it."
"Fine. We'll do it together. Sound good?"
"As long as I get to do it for a change, it's fine by me," Roxie said with a chuckle. "Okay, so Earth's looking fabulous on the surface, right? Well, one day, completely out of nowhere... WHOOSH!"
"There was an accident. No one knows why exactly it happened. All we do know is that it caused these tiny machines called nanites to get into every living thing on planet Earth," Rex said.
"And every once in awhile, the nanites turn humans or animals into monsters Attack on Titan style."
A giant grey monster with tons and tons of faces all across its body roared outwards, towering over the city. The soldiers below were doing their best to fight it off to no avail.
"Kind of like this guy," Rex chuckled. "We call them EVOs."
"Yeah. Most EVOs just have no intelligence whatsoever. They just want to wreck stuff. And that's why we have Providence."
The soldiers below were launching all sorts of highly advanced weaponry while wearing what seemed to be the advanced mecha suits from Edge of Tomorrow, holding the creature off. The EVO roared as he reached down and grabbed a tank, tossing it to the Providence soldiers as one generated a forcefield from his suit that protected him from the tank.
"In the five years since the nanite event, we have never had an EVO incident of this magnitude," a reporter announced as her crew was filming her on site. "Evacuations are underway and Providence agents are on the scene."
The EVO roared out and fired an orange energy beam from its top face's mouth and blasted tons of Providence agents off of a roof.
"Now, I guess you could say that we work for Providence," Roxie said with a smirk.
We cue to a secluded area in the Providence ship known as the Keep where we see two twins in similar attire. The boy wore a blue and white shirt under a red and orange jacket with blue gloves and black pants with wire patterns along with black combat boots. He also wore orange aviator goggles on his head. The girl wore very similar attire, only she had a black and pink shirt over a blue and purple jacket with white gloves, dark purple pants with black combat boots and deep purple aviator goggles on her head.
They were both Hispanic teenagers with black hair and the girl had long raven black hair that went down to her back.
"We're their secret weapon," Rex said as we see him throwing a bouncing ball against the wall along with his sister listening to heavy metal music on her phone as an EVO chimpanzee standing by them.
"So secret that they have to keep us hidden away."
He has pale purple skin and brown fur. He wears an eye patch and a fez. His shirt and shorts are a dingy gray/green color with blue cloth at the bottom of his sleeves, shorts and a line down his shirt that extends to the bottom. He also has blue cuff-links. His outfit is like something out of a Renaissance fair.
"Maybe you need to lay off the sodie pop, chief," the chimp said.
Rex then threw the ball towards the wall and knocked the chimp's hat off his head.
"Sheesh. Touchy."
As the twins got up and stretched out their joints as they walked to the door at the far wall.
The EVO below roared in fury as the reporter looked above with a hopeful glance.
"Providence Keep is now over the city. We may yet see an end to this."
"Tch. It's about time," Roxie said as she and Rex nodded and pressed a button on the floor at the same time, opening a large hatch in the floor that showed the city below them.
"When the situation gets really tough, they have to call on us to handle things with the skill and professionalism of highly trained soldiers," Rex said.
Rex and Roxie simply nodded as they both put their goggles over their eyes.
"Or at least, that's how they want us to handle things."
They both fist-bumped and then leaped down into the city below.
"Oh boy," the chimp scoffed.
"Now here's the cool part: we're EVOs too," Roxie said. "But for some reason, we're different from all the rest. Instead of our nanites turning us into uncontrollable monsters, we can control them. Tell them what to do."
"For me, I can manipulate the nanites to manipulate my body into various shapes and forms. That means I can do things like THIS!"
Roxie smiled as she grabbed her brother and twirled around, tossing him into the monster as he slammed his fists together as they glowed blue and he shouted out as he thrusts his fists out and they morphed into giant orange mechanical gauntlets that slammed into the EVO, sending him crashing down to the ground as Roxie smiled.
"As for me, my nanites project an invisible field of energy around me that I can manipulate to conjure basically anything I can think of into existence and then dispel them again. Observe."
Roxie smiled as she shot out a hand and tons of daggers suddenly appeared from the thin air around her and she shouted out as she shot her hand out and the dagger flew out and they all stabbed into the EVO's various eyes causing it to scream out in pain as she hit the ground, unharmed and smirked with a toss of her raven locks as Rex landed beside her as she smirked to him.
"Hello, monster guy," Rex smirked. "I'm Rex."
"And I'm Roxie."
"Now thrill us," the twins chorused.
"Now, who wants to go first? Any takers?" Rex asked as the twins did a rock-paper-scissors, which Rex won as Roxie gestured for him to go ahead as the EVO fired a beam outwards that Rex avoided.
Roxie quickly conjured a shield with a GR in gear symbols on it that blocked the beam as Rex used his gauntlets to slam right into the EVO's various faces.
"Eenie! Meenie! Miney! MOE!"
As the last punch connected, the joint of the fist connected to the gauntlet's knuckle and the fist spun around like a drill, sending the EVO crashing down to the pavement again.
Roxie conjured a jetpack that she used to blast onto the top of a building as she dispelled it and summoned a javelin to her hand. She then leaped off of the building and slammed the javelin into the top head of the monster with a malicious grin.
"We've been hearing rumors of new Providence weapons. And they seem to be... teenaged twins?"
Rex smirked as Roxie waved at the camera nervously as the EVO shot an ice blast from its center mouth and Rex blocked it with his giant fists as Roxie created a shield that blocked the ice.
In the sky on Providence Keep, a smaller ship separated from the main ship and staring out the window was a man with a green suit with a black tie and sunglasses as he glared down at the battle below.
"Who let them out?"
"No one, sir. Rex and Roxie just ordered the doors to open and they did, sir," a soldier explained.
"Six," a female voice said over the radio. "I'm getting funky bioenergy readings from Rex and Roxie. Just keep an eye on them."
"It's what I live for, Dr. Holiday."
As the ice beam kept up as Roxie blocked it, she backflipped as Rex generated a backpack on his back and flew up as Roxie leaped up to a rooftop, out of the way of a plasma beam.
"Don't mess around, kids," Six said as the twins turned their heads. "Focus."
"That wasn't messing around, Six. This is messing around."
Rex blasted off, dodging blasts as he dodged around as Roxie formed a crossbow in her hands and blasted energy bolts at the EVO's faces with a grunt as she smirked.
"Can you blame a couple of teenagers for having a little fun? Especially when the limits of what they can do are their own imagination?!"
Suddenly, the EVO blasted at the side of a building, tearing it from its hinges as the civilians below gasped in horror.
"Civilians!" Six warned.
"I can get them," Rex said. "I got this!"
It was after those words left his lips that his nanites began to malfunction and his jetpack began to crash and burn.
"SHIT!"
"Six, Rex's biometric readings just bottomed out," Dr. Holiday reported.
"Noted."
Six dropped two discs from his sleeves that unfurled into swords. He then leaped off of the ship and landed on the various rubble before he tossed it into ribbons before it could hit the civilians below.
"Okay, bro. Playtime's over," Roxie said as she leaped below.
"She's right. Finish it."
"Rex's bios are way back up! What did you do?"
"Oh, just the usual cheery pep talk."
Roxie bowed to Rex as he morphed his arm into a large cannon. The back of the cannon slammed into the street and hooked onto a piece of blacktop that he blasted at the EVO, sending him crashing down to the ground, unconscious.
"Rex, Roxie, you're clear to move in and disarm."
"No offense, Doc, but um, duh," Rex said.
Roxie and Rex ran in and slammed their hands onto the creature with a smirk.
"Shut him down, little guys."
The twins shouted out as they absorbed the nanites in the EVO shutting down the negatively charged nanites with their positively-charged ones until the EVO finally de-mutated, leaving behind a naked man.
"You're welcome- again," Roxie smiled as she and her brother walked away.
"You made me normal again."
The man then ran up and hugged the twins, careful of the blanket covering him.
"Um, handshakes work too, naked man," Rex said.
It was that point that the blanket fell off.
"Seriously, stop hugging us."
"I think those two kids just cured the EVO," the reporter said.
That was when Six rolled by and turned the camera off.
"Providence has no comment."
"Come on," Rex said. "Do we really have to go back to base. We should just go get a pizza and celebrate."
"Celebrate? Rex, you destroyed six city blocks," Six said.
"Technically, it was the EVO that did that," Roxie pointed out. "Besides, if we didn't intervene, that thing would have easily destroyed the city."
As the ship took off back to Providence Headquarters, three figures in the shadows observed the twins with a nod.
"That's them. Tell Van Kleiss."
At Providence Headquarters as the twins were kicking back in their rooms, Six was talking with his superior.
"You are failing to control our secret weapons, Agent Six."
"What do you suggest, White Knight? Have them neutralized like all the others?"
"Five years of living in a global freakshow and those kids are our only way out. Every living thing on this planet is infected by those nanites and the lucky ones get to wonder when it will be their turn to pop. As long as Rex and Roxie can cure EVOS, we stand a chance of actually winning this war. Rein them in, Six. I don't need to remind you of the alternative."
As this conversation was going on, Rex stepped into Dr. Holiday's chamber with his music blaring as Dr. Holiday set the chamber to scan Rex as the machine did its work and scanned him inside and out.
"Everything seems normal inside and out with you, Rex," Dr. Holiday said. "So, you want to tell me what happened today? Or perhaps your sister can?"
"Other than that, it was just another victory for the Salazar twins. Maybe we deserve some sort of reward. Say, dinner? A movie?"
Rex suddenly dodged his head as a dart was thrown at him as Roxie smirked as she held three more in her hands.
"Could you please stop doing that?"
"What I'm really talking about is the 90% spike in your bioenergy, Rex. Do you know anything, Roxie?"
"Not sure myself. Everything was going fine until the Boogie Pack stopped working for a minute," Roxie said.
"My bios spike every time I see you, Dr. Holiday."
"Smooth. Like sandpaper," the chimp EVO said, dusting off his blasters.
"You said it, Bobo. Not me," Roxie facepalmed.
"I guess I just up in front of Six, then... I don't know what happened. I freaked out and my machines just broke apart."
"Could that happen with my conjuring powers too?" Roxie asked herself as Six stepped in. "Speak of the devil."
"Oh, hey Six."
"I need to test your stress levels. Each of you give me a lap around the petting zoo."
Rex and Roxie stepped off along with Bobo to the elevator as Dr. Holiday turned to Six.
"So, how was your day?"
The elevator stopped at the Providence petting zoo as Bobo turned to Rex with a smile.
"Wheels or wings?"
"Wheels. I want to tear something up," Rex said, putting on his goggles as his legs morphed into an orange and black form similar to a motorcycle as he gripped the handles and sped off around the petting zoo.
"Rox?"
Roxie smiled as she put her own goggles on and clicked her boots as rocket skates appeared in their place and she smiled as she sped off after her brother with a laugh.
"There's obviously something seriously wrong with them," Six said, observing from above.
"Aside from the fact that all of you treat the twins like weapons instead of teenagers?"
"So, what's your problem?" Bobo asked, perched on Rex's shoulder as Roxie skated alongside them.
"Oh, the usual. All work and no play."
"Oh, and don't even get us started on that broom closet they call a room," Roxie said, noticing a tree grow several red eyes and shot its tentacles out at them as they dodged and Roxie tossed out several daggers at the tree.
"Physically, the twins and their nanites are fine," Dr. Holiday said. "But think about it, Six. They have no memories of who they are or their family. All they know is their names and the fact that they're twins. How do you think that makes them feel?"
"How they feel isn't the concern of Providence as long as they can take down other EVOS and deactivate them."
"Yeah? Well if we don't change their training regimen soon, they won't be able to do that much longer."
"Think they fed Mel?" Rex asked as he jumped a ramp and a ginormous aquatic EVO burst from the water and tried to snap its jaws around him as he did a vertical 360.
"Obviously not!" Bobo shouted as Rex completed the jump and landed on the other side as Roxie briefly stopped and tossed Mel an entire beef shank, which he completely devoured in an instant.
"So today, when Rex lost it and his machines fell apart?" Six asked.
"It was all mental. The fear of making a mistake- what you think of him. Roxie has the same problem."
"What I think? They need more training. To control those emotions."
"They're hormonal teenagers, Six! That's like asking you to get a new suit!"
As this conversation was going on, Rex and Roxie skidded to a halt in front of a steel door with a caution sign in front.
"Up for a little ride?" Roxie asked.
"What do you think?" Rex smiled.
"Hey, don't ask me. I'm a bad influence," Bobo smirked as the twins fist-bumped and sped off down the door, setting off the alarms as Six turned to Dr. Holiday with a groan.
"Again?"
"Again."
The twins whooped as they sped away from Providence Headquarters with a smirking Bobo alongside them.
At a skatepark in town, a group of teenagers were standing at one end of a half pipe, skateboards in hand.
"Well, what are you waiting for?"
"People die on this thing, man. I'm not gonna go, you go."
That was when the Generator Twins jumped out of a pipe behind them, alongside Bobo as Rex smirked and crossed his arms.
"I'll do it."
"You gonna ride your monkey?"
"First of all, he's a chimp. Second of all, wait until my brother shows you up."
Rex smirked as he generated the Rex Ride from his legs and revved it up with a smile, speeding down the half pipes, doing all kinds of tricks.
"Did he just... no way!"
"Front Side McTwist 1260- Psycho Style!"
Rex then drove up towards our heroes and then returned his legs to normal as he backflipped and landed by his sister with the smuggest smirk imaginable.
"So, who's thirsty?" Roxie asked, raising an eyebrow.
The guys were all sipping sodas next to the Snack Shack as Rex used his nanites to manipulate the vending machine to send out sodas without spending a single penny.
"Dude, this is sick! Hit me again, EVO Kid."
Rex winked as he pressed his hand on the vending machine again and a can of soda shot out of the machine and slammed directly into the kid, knocking him out and spilling cola everywhere, causing his friends to laugh and cheer as Roxie smiled and generated a soda from the energy field around her as she smirked
"Dudes, we totally got to take these two to the arcade."
"We're never going to have to pay for anything ever again!"
"Owww..."
"You know, those kids couldn't care less about being friends with you two," a blonde haired teenaged boy said, walking up behind our heroes.
"What's so wrong with that?" Roxie asked.
"Hey, new kids, let's get rolling!"
"Let's just hang here for awhile. I'm tired of the whole machine thing. We can't give you guys any more freebies or else Providence will kill us."
"Oh, well then I guess we're done... freaks!"
The kids laughed before walking away before Bobo jumped up next to the twins as they crossed their arms.
"May I remind you two that monkeys like to throw Bobo Bombs... and I had Mexican yesterday."
"Knock yourself... or them out," Roxie smirked as Bobo chased after them.
"So you have a talking monkey?" the blonde boy asked.
"Technically, he's a chimpanzee," Rex said. "Want a soda?"
"It's on me this time. I'm Noah."
As the twins and Noah walked away to the skate park, one of the mysterious EVOs from earlier snapped a picture of each of them and sneaked off back into the shadows.
"So, you two cure EVOs?" Noah asked. "Seriously?"
"Kind of," Roxie said. "I can generate anything I can think of from this field of energy that my nanites project around me."
"And I can grow machines from my body. It's something only we can do," Rex said. "We can't make people completely nanite free, but we can extract the ones that turn thme into EVOs."
"No wonder Providence keeps you locked up. That's pretty huge. Like Earth-changing huge."
"I guess so," Roxie sighed as she stared up at teh sky in wonder. "I just wish that they'd help us learn who we are."
"But you want to know the best thing about amnesia?" Rex asked.
"What?"
"Don't know. We forgot!"
The three teens then laughed as Roxie slapped her leg.
Bobo gave out a raspberry as he lay on the wall above them. "You two bozos call that comedy?"
"Well, I'm glad someone's laughing," Six said from beside our heroes, causing Bobo to fall off the wall.
"So who's that guy supposed to be?" Noah asked.
"Oh, Six is kind of like a nanny... only way more aggro," Rex explained.
"Hysterical, you two. Let's get going."
"Actually, I think we're going to chill here for awhile, thank you," Rex said as Roxie sighed and sat down.
"Rex," Six said, before he suddenly sensed something and shoved our heroes to the ground. "Duck!"
He dodged two crystal projectiles that slammed into the ground beside him.
Everyone looked up to see three dangerous EVOs standing on top of the skate park's entrance.
The first was a blue and silver-armored EVO that resembled a werewolf with sharp claws on his hands with a white mane growing down his back and piercing red eyes as he ripped the gate from its hinges with a growl. His name was Biowulf.
The second was a green-skinned lizard like EVO with large crystals growing out of his right arm wth four legs growing from his posterior and a large lizard-like head. His name was SKalamander.
The third was a pale-skinned EVO wearing a school girl uniform with four arms, the top two much larger and more muscular than the bottom pair. Her name was Breach.
The trio of EVOs leaped downwards to Providence, who fired on them, only for their bullets to do nothing to pierce Biowulf's armor as he swatted them into the wall and slashed their weapons into pieces.
Breach danced around the bullets before she slashed her upper arms downwards to send out two energy surges that happened to be crimson wormholes that sent two Providence Soldiers to who knows where.
Six shouted out as he dueled Biowulf's claws with his swords as he growled as Rex and Roxie stepped back with Noah as Skalamander dropped by near them.
"We got your back, kids! We're on your side!"
"Our side?" Roxie asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I mean, Six may be a pain in our butts, but-"
"Through here!" Breach called as a wormhole opened behind them. "The Promised Land."
"We're waiting... Rex and Roxie Salazar," a menacing voice said from behind our heroes as they turned to each other, worried.
"Rex, Roxie, stay back!" Six ordered as our heroes... just as Skalamander swatted Rex, Roxie, Bobo and Noah through the portal.
Biowulf swatted Six to the wall and quickly rushed into the portal along with Skalamander.
Six rushed to try to get into the wormhole... but it closed just before he could enter it. He then shouted out and slammed the ground in anger.
Our heroes all fell out of the portal and groaned as they got up from the ground.
Never flying coach again. No sirree," Bobo scoffed as the EVOs appeared behind them.
"Where are we?" Roxie asked, concerned.
"Home," Biowulf said as he gestured to a group of trees bending to form a path.
Walking through was an EVO with a golden gauntlet on his left arm, a pale complexion, golden eyes and a gold and black garb with flowers blooming on the ground behind him as he walked forwards.
"Hey, head honcho," Bobo whispered to the twins. "Act all impressed."
"Who said anything about acting?" Rex asked.
"You can control nature?" Roxie asked the EVO as he stopped n front of them.
"In a manner of speaking, yes."
"Good. Think you can turn the heat down a notch, Skippy?" Bobo asked as the EVO glared and a rain cloud poured on Bobo's head for a few seconds. "Show off."
"I am Van Kleiss. And this, Rex and Roxie, is Abysus, a haven for all EVOs."
"How do you know who we are?" Rex asked.
"My associates, Biowulf, Breach and Skalamander, have been watching the pair of you for some time now."
"Well, that's not creepy at all," Noah said to the pair.
Van Kleiss raised his gauntlet and the trees parted to reveal some stone ruins in the distance. "This way."
As the group walked through the ruins, Van Kleiss explained what was going on to Rex and Roxie.
"They call it a plague, but nanites are, in every way, a gift. A gift your Providence seeks to destroy."
Rex and Roxie looked on as Van Kleiss raised a path of stone in front of them to walk on.
"But the EVOs we go after, they're monsters," Rex stated.
"They use their powers to hurt people."
"We're not all savages, you two. Some EVOs are capable of so much more. Like yourselves. You've only barely begun to realize your full potential.
"Potential?" Roxie asked. "We don't even know anything about who we are or who we were before all this."
"Is that so? Then perhaps, you two are owed a little history lesson."
"Sounds delightful," Bobo said with sarcasm as he felt his stomach grumble. "Got anything to eat in this dump?"
"Take these two to the garden for nourishment," Van Kleiss ordered as he raised a path for his henchmen, Bobo and Noah. "We'll follow shortly. Five years ago on this very spot, is where it all began, Rex and Roxy: the so-called Nanite Event. The dream to create microscopic machines became real. Some were too eager to see the fruits of their labor and, against the wishes of the wisest of their number, inadvertently gave birth to a new age. And my, what a violent birth it was."
"Whoa," the twins said in unison.
"That day, everything changed. The EVOs were born."
"Okay," Rex said. "That's an interesting history lesson, but what does that have to do with us?"
"Oh, my dear Rex. It has everything to do with you and your sister. Now... let's see what all the fuss about you two is, shall we?"
Van Kleiss lifted his hand and several large roots shot out of the ground, destroying the floor as they wrapped all around the twin EVOs and they screamed out, struggling against the grip of the roots.
Meanwhile, Van Kleiss' henchmen were leading Bobo and Noah through the Garden.
"This is the Garden?" Bobo asked. "Better fire whatever two-bit gardener you have hired."
Noah heard a distant howling sounding out and his eyes shot around everywhere to see several skeletons of various EVOs.
"Call me crazy, but I don't think these things are statues."
"Smart kid!" Skalamander smirked as he, Biowulf and Breach suddenly surrounded him and Bobo.
"What are you doing?" Roxie asked.
"Call it... an experiment," Van Kleiss said as he brought them over to him and his gauntlet suddenly grew claws from the fingers and he stabbed them right into Rex, who shouted out as digital lines formed on his skin, causing him to scream in pain.
"REX!" Roxie shouted.
"Not everyone's relationship to the nanites is as... cooperative as the pair of yours. For example, my body is unstable. I need a constant supply of fresh nanites in order to survive. Yours should be particularly nourishing.
Rex suddenly saw his skin start to turn to stone as he felt the nanites being drained from him.
"Ever been in a fight, blondie?" Bobo asked Noah as the two were surrounded.
"I took kickboxing at the mall once?"
"We're doomed."
Biowulf laughed evilly as he swung his claws down, only for Bobo to leap up and grab his mane, pulling at it and causing Biowulf to struggle as Noah dodged Skalamander's swipes with a backflip as Bobo steered Biowulf straight into Skalamander, causing the two to crash into the door as Breach ran up and Noah ran up and gave a double flying kick to her face, sending her crashing into her teammates and all three fell struggled to get up.
"Not bad," Bobo complimented.
Rex struggled as Roxie tried to activate her nanites, but was struggling to do so because of the tight roots as she watched her brother turn to stone.
"Now Rex, I expected so much more from you and your sister than this!"
Fortunately, Bobo and Noah rushed into the room and witnessed what was going on as Bobo rushed up.
"Get your paws off them, you damn dirty cape!"
Bobo wrested a rock from its foundation and tossed it at Van Kleiss, distracting him.
Rex took advantage and supersized his foot into a giant boot that kicked Van Kleiss off him and into a wall as he smirked.
"Now that's more like it. You two are just as powerful as I was led to believe!"
Rex formed is BFS from his hand and slashed his and his sister's root bindings and they landed next to their friends.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but neither of us are particularly interested in being someone's lunch!" Rex shouted.
"Oh, you're far more valuable to me than that Rex and Roxie. I merely wanted a taste of what you have."
"Hey, Rex, Roxie? I'm ready to go home and not die now."
"Gotcha," Rex said as he formed his Boogie Pack as Roxie formed her own hang glider before as they formed a hole in the wall and flew off with Bobo and Noah in tow. As they were flying, several trees and roots were popping up all around them as they dodged around them.
"Thank you for flying Air Rex!"
"Hey, Rox! There'd better be a movie on this flight!"
"Look around you, Bobo! We're IN the movie!"
The twins flew above the trees and picked up the speed as a several large tree monsters controlled by Van Kleiss popped up all around the fleeing twin EVOs.
"Where are the pair of you running too? Providence? You're nothing but tools to them- weapons to be locked away until they need you."
Roxie suddenly groaned as she held her head and she felt her nanites shut down as the hang glider vanished and the same happened to Rex once again, causing the Boogie Pack to retract and everyone fell to the ground before the twins recovered.
Rex and Roxie looked up as they tried to activate their nanites again and... nada.
"Come on, Roxie," Rex said, laying a hand on her shoulder. "Don't let that guy get to you."
Noah and Bobo ran up to our heroes as Roxie put a hand up to stop them.
"We need a minute. Our biometrics are way low."
"Gee, that's inconvenient," Noah deadpanned.
No sooner than that did Biowulf, Skalamander and Breach drop down through one of Breach's portals.
"I rest my case."
Biowulf leaped in to slash at our heroes.. only to be tackled to the side by a certain secret agentwith a growl.
"Six!" Rex and Roxie cheered.
Six backflipped and tossed two cylinders to Bobo, who caught them as they unfolded into blasters. Bobo then fired a massive volley of laser blasts at Skalamander, knocking him unconscious as Roxie turned to Six as she noticed a red portal opening.
"6:00!"
Six turned around to see Breach, who opened several holes in reality and sent them spiraling around Six before she punched and kicked out of them, bombarding Six with various undetectable punches and kicks.
Six then dropped his swords from his sleeves and tossed them into the portal, knocking Breach out as he caught his fists as they came sailing out of the portal above him.
"Some nanny you two got there," Noah smirked.
"Six," Rex began. "This EVO, Van Kleiss-"
"We know. He's never been that big of a problem until now. We have to move. The Keep is hovering just above the mountains."
"How'd you guys find us?" Roxie asked.
"High-frequency transponder."
"You tagged us like dolphins?" Rex asked.
"Not you two. It's in the monkey's diaper."
Bobo stopped in his tracks at that as the teens stopped briefly to look at him.
"It's a simian undergarment!"
"You know," Roxie said. "Kind of surprised it's just you. I thought Providence would send an army after us?"
"They did."
That was when the twins gazed at their surroundings and saw tons of dead soldiers and destroyed machinery absolutely ravaged by the plants surrounding them.
"Guys, forget it. Move!"
That was when tons of roots burst from the ground and the group saw Van Kleiss standing on top of one of the roots with a scowl clear on his face.
"Such a waste of resources. If only Providence would keep out of things that don't concern them."
Van Kleiss shot his arm out and the roots rushed the twins, only to be sliced at the seems by Six's swords as he turned to the teens and Bobo.
"Keep going. you'll be safe at The Keep."
"Guys," Noah told them. "I don't think Van Kleiss just controls the Earth. It's almost like-"
"He's a part of it," Rex and Roxie chorused.
The twins then each took off a glove and touched the ground, scanning the Earth.
"There's nanites everywhere," Rex said. "He's connected to all of it!"
Six ran up to try to surprise Van Kleiss, only for a giant rock to get slammed to the side.
"Um, fellas? How's those biometrics working now?" Bobo asked as the twins tried in vain to get their nanites working.
That was when an entire circle of trees suddenly sprang up around our heroes, trapping them. Van Kleiss stood on a giant tree in the center of them.
"Enough of this foolishness. You two were here where it happened, Rex and Roxie. Stay and all your questions will be answered."
"Yeah, no," Rex said. "Well take our chances with Providence."
"You two are messing around with your destiny. Don't you want to know who you are?"
The twins then felt something flare up in them as their nanites sprang to life.
"We may not remember who we were," Roxie panted. "But we know who we are!"
"And by the way? You call that messing around?"
Rex summoned his BFS and ran forwards, slicing and dicing all of the roots that came down.
Roxie smirked and leaped up, summoning two katanas as Rex tossed her up and she spun around like a whirling dervish of strikes as Rex came above her and they both slashed down and landed on opposite sides of the tree, splitting the nanites and causing a massive explosion, instantly vaporizing the tree and Van Kleiss.
"That's messing around."
"I haven't had a rush like that in awhile, bro," Roxie chuckled.
"Great, fight guys. Can we go home now?" Noah asked.
Rex and Roxie smirked to each other with a fist bump as Rex formed his Rex ride and Noah got on the back, driving away as Roxie summoned her own motorcycle as they drove back to the Keep.
"So, you sure you don't want to take the scenic route?"
As the team made their leave, a ton of roots and foliage reformed from the Earth and merged together to reform a smirking Van Kleiss, chuckling evilly at the departing twins.
Back at the Keep, Six and Dr. Holiday opened a door to show the twins their new room.
"So? What do you two think?" Dr. Holiday asked. "You two kept saying you want a bigger room."
And a bigger room it was, fit with almost everything a sixteen year old could possibly want in their room, with their own sections clearly spelled out by color. There was even a jungle gym in the back for Bobo.
"Hm, it'll do."
"Certainly better than sleeping in that chamber, huh?" Roxie chuckled.
"This isn't the life you guys asked for, but it's the one you got," Six stated. "We'll have to make the best of it."
"And our past?" Rex asked.
"We'll keep looking. All of us together."
"Can we still hang out with Noah?" Roxie asked, folding her arms.
"I think that can be arranged," Six said, tossing Rex his ball back.
"You did well," White Knight told Noah, sending a glass of milk. "Keep it up and you'll have a bright future in this organization. The best way you can get someone to do what you want is to get them to think it was their idea. Rex and Roxie wanted a friend and now they've got one."
"You got any cookies there?"
"So," Roxie chuckled. "Did we learn a lesson from all of this?"
"I think so, sis. Complain enough and they'll give you a flat screen."
"Wow. Some lesson that is, bro. But seriously, even though we complain to the management a lot, we do love what we do."
"Sometimes, we just have to remind them wo's really boss around here."
"Lights out," Six ordered as the lights in the room went out.
"Oh, come on!" the twins shouted.
