Oh frustration!

A family of opossums had wasted no time in moving into Bella's attic through the roof hole I set to repair. Five weary hours of mutual snarling, hissing and several foul-smelling fainting fits later, we were at an impasse. I could not seal the roof with the beasts inside, nor could I tempt them to exit, given their natural fear of my vampirism.

As if I would deign to eat an opossum! Foolish creatures!

Eventually I had to ask Jasper to come and stand by the house and flood it with feelings of safety and curiosity until I could finally tempt them out with a well placed trail of grapes. Allowing me to finally relocate those meddlesome marsupials.

The hole in the roof is now, at long last, fixed and neither rain, nor rodent shall breach the attic above my precious Bella's bedroom sanctuary.

It has been a long and tiresome night, made no easier by the dual rhythms of Bella and her father's pulses, ringing in my earls like the Tell Tale Heart, a constant reminder of my burning shame.

Oh how I wish I were not so weak and loathsome. Bella has such a powerful effect on me, I am surely doomed to eternal oscillations betwixt depraved lust, remorse and outright idiocy. Jasper says this is 'business as usual then',

In honesty I envy those opossums. I wish I could nestle in the attic insulation, perhaps quietly explore boxes of childhood toys and treasure old photographs of my darling Bella.

I am so lonely.

I think I shall visit her again this evening.

A/N: Please leave a review! What animal do you think is most like Edward? I definitely think he's like an opossum, which is why I wrote this entry. He hisses the same way.
