Bayonetta 3 Rewrite

Author's notes: this story isn't really a story but mainly a view on what I think could have made Bayonetta 3 better and there will be a couple of things that are different. For instance, Bayonetta literally is the only character who appears in every chapter just like the last two games.

Viola doesn't get chapters instead is a side character.

I got this idea from somethings I saw on Reddit and Archive of Our Own.

And of course, what's different is that Bayonetta doesn't die.

Records of Time Phenomenal Affirmation

The Records of Time plays out similarly to the main game, but Singularity doesn't appear as a shadowy figure instead as his main form. Viola explains the Records of Time, but she doesn't say her father is the one who told her about the concept of the multiverse instead her mother did. And B0 Bayonetta doesn't die instead simply beaten to the point she did appear dead.

Prologue Chaotic Encounter

The Prologue plays nearly the same only a few differences is that Viola appears near the end. Jeanne does have her main appearance before she switched out into her Umbran Uniform. The Kraken appeared at the end the same the question on how it was summoned this question never got answered in the game. Jeanne isn't taken by the kraken instead she saved herself and Bayonetta from the Kraken.

Chapter 1 Scrambling for Answers

The chapter plays out the same except only differences is that there is a different Rodin who has Bayonetta 1 appearance. In the game it was stated Rodin doesn't have variants, but Alraune and Madama Butterfly have variants so what's the deal with Rodin? But his other variants make appearances throughout this altered version. The chapter ends with B1 Jeanne making an appearance.

Chapter 2 City on Fire

The chapter begins with B1 Jeanne mistaking main Bayonetta for her Cereza. B1 Bayonetta does appear teaching how to use Demon Slave. B1 Jeanne mostly aid Bayonetta for most of the chapter until the end where she deals with more Homunculi forces. Strider is still a boss in this version he was defeated and Luka appears at the end in his human form Bayonetta ponders on how Luka traveled between worlds.

Chapter 3 A Sinking Feeling

The chapter begins with Luke flirting with Bayonetta. The chapter plays roughly the same as the main game but B1 Bayonetta doesn't die in this version. Bayonetta claim the first Chaos Gear and B1 Bayonetta stays on Thule to protect it.

Side chapter 1 The Crimson Shadow

The side chapter plays out roughly the same however Bayonetta makes a cameo at the end of the chapter.

Chapter 4 Worlds Apart

The chapter plays similar to the main game but Viola aided Bayonetta more frequently rather than the end of the chapter. B2 Bayonetta appears in the flesh with her army charging at the Homunculi forces she appears with her own Luka variant who is implied in the Echoes of Memory.

Chapter 5 Hot Pursuit

The chapter is different to the main game Bayonetta is the one chasing Luka instead of Viola. Bayonetta in this chapter is able to sense Viola's faerie form this was never clarified in the game if Bayonetta was aware of Viola's faerie powers. The chapter ends with Bayonetta fighting Strider but still pondering on who Strider is.

Chapter 6 Off the Rails

The chapter plays similar to the main game however Bayonetta encounters alternate Enzo and teased him. B2 Bayonetta appears much earlier rather than later. She fells into the volcano while fighting Pyrocumulus but she doesn't die she simply disappeared. Bayonetta summoned Queen Butterfly her battle with Pyrocumulus plays out the same and Bayonetta claim the Chaos Gear and with this world's Bayonetta joining forces and protecting Thule.

Side chapter 2 The Lynx Strikes

The chapter begins with a flashback in the Gates of Hell with Bayonetta making a cameo before she leaves with Viola. Instead the main parts of this side chapter plays the elevator level.

Chapter 7 Burning Sands

This chapter is slightly different. The Cheshire part plays out the same (because that was my second favorite part of the chapter) Bayonetta makes it in time to help Viola fight Luka/Strider Bayonetta and Viola gets stabbed but Bayonetta heals the wound herself and Viola transforms into her faerie form which gives Bayonetta the advantage of fighting back. The chapter ends with Viola going after Luka in her faerie form due to being unable to control it and Bayonetta sees the flashback between B3 Bayonetta and Jeanne.

Chapter 8 A Croaking Chorus

This was one of my favorite chapters so is plays out the same only difference is that this version hinted a romantic connection with the B3 Bayonetta and Jeanne.

Chapter 9 Learning to Fly

The chapter plays out differently with half of the chapter actually being through B3 Bayonetta's point of view (because there was only three Bayonettas playable throughout the game) B3 Bayonetta takes the Chaos Gear but feels main Bayonetta isn't worthy to take it. The Chapter ends with B3 Bayonetta giving the Chaos Gear to Bayonetta and she and B3 Jeanne joined the forces on Thule.

Side Chapter 3 High Stakes.

The side chapter features a scene of Bayonetta wondering what Jeanne is doing. Jeanne has to clear out various rooms of the homunculi then meets Sigrid who isn't Singularity in disguise because I found this plot twist useless.

Chapter 10 Cover of Night

The chapter plays out differently instead of Viola meeting Lukaon it is Bayonetta who does. Lukaon states he remembers Cereza and stated his love for her never faded and informed her that Luka and Viola are out of control due to their hidden heritage being awaken due to the Multiverse invasion. The chapter ends with Bayonetta unable to find Viola and Luka the two still fight each other but disappeared.

Chapter 11 A Familiar Dance

The chapter plays out the same but only different is that Rosa sacrifices herself to save her daughter from the Perlucidus and she begs both Bayonettas to mercy kill her but B4 Bayonetta does the deed and mourns for her lost.

Chapter 12 Edge of Madness

The chapter plays out the same however B4 Bayonetta helps Bayonetta during the Baal Zaal part and she works with Bayonetta to avenge her mother by defending Thule from the Homunculi after giving her the Chaos Gear.

Side chapter 4 The Doctor is Out

This side Chapter plays out exactly how it does Jeanne saves Dr. Sigurd and takes him to Thule. The cutscene of when Bayonetta and Jeanne meet up plays out the same in this chapter rather than being the opening cutscene of the next chapter.

Chapter 13 Kingdom of One

The chapter plays out similar but however the small team of Bayonettas work together to defend the device as Bayonetta enters the Alphaverse. Madama Butterfly goes into her feral form to fight Aureole. The fight with Luka is different instead it's a double boss fight as Bayonetta has to fight Viola and Luka. Viola returns to normal after being defeated and reveals she and Bayonetta are family in her universe. Lukaon appears and helps Bayonetta calm Luka down. Back on Thule Jeanne, her Egypt variant, and the Bayonettas are encountered by Singularity who blasted them, and he is confident he killed them all with one blast he destroys the device and leaves.

Chapter 14 The Single Truth

The chapter begins with Bayonetta, Viola, and Luka returning to the main universe as the city has been destroyed making it big enough to have a battlefield. The battle with Singularity Chaos plays out the same Bayonetta summons all the Deadly Sin demons all at once rather than just Queen Butterfly and blasted him into space. The battle with his Balance form plays out the same but the scene where all of Bayonetta's variants doesn't happen yet instead Jeanne teams up with her to defeat Singularity Balance and sent him back falling to the earth. During the 3rd verse Bayonetta was weaken to the point where she cannot fight anymore however her variants from the first two games and her the variants from the other worlds team up with their variants of Jeannes, Rosa, Luka, Enzo, Rodin, and past characters from the series for a final battle. She says her famous "Let's dance boys!" line to charge into battle. Singularity Definition and Bayonetta plays out the same. Once Singularity is defeat Bayonetta is exhausted and tired from the battle. The Multiverse is restored to it's proper condition Viola returns to her Bayonetta world and the other variants returned to their world. The story ends with Bayonetta and Luka getting married and angels attacking the wedding with Bayonetta and Jeanne fighting the angels.

To serve as a teaser for Bayonetta Origins the secret chapter part plays after the credits.
