Bella took me up on my offer to type up her project for her after what must have been a terribly frustrating day of left handed typing. She said she didn't want to spend the entire vacation on this one project and needed a break to relax as well. Of course I was most eager to be of assistance. Anything for her.
She told me to come over so she could put my 'old man two finger typing skills' to the test. I may only type with two fingers, but I'm still a lot faster than Bella. She looked a little astonished when she saw me in action, and I was not even going at vampire speed.
After a while I noticed Bella's breathing was more shallow, I caught her grimacing and asked if she was in pain. She said she couldn't get comfortable on the couch because of her bruised ribs and would I mind if we moved to her room.
What a treat! I have been inside the hallowed walls of Bella Swan's bed chamber! It looked much the same as in the dingy Polaroid I took when stalking her before, although the new perspective and view of the previously hidden wall were fascinating. I did my best not to be creepy or stare, but it was hard to do anything much else.
Her delicious smell was everywhere and I had trouble restraining my urge to burrow and roll in the bed covers to mark myself with her scent.
I helped Bella arrange the pillows and cushions on her bed and lent her an arm as she positioned herself and let out a small sigh of relief. After making sure she was more comfortable, she told me to sit down, I circled a little trying to find a good spot, but settled into a rocking chair and we continued with our work.
It was a very odd experience hearing Bella talk about me and writing about myself in the third person. She was far too kind, of course.
We managed to get through the chapters on my background and family today. This leaves chapters on my personality, future ambitions, and the direction gained from our many activities to write over the next few days.
When Bella asked to take a break I got her a drink from the kitchen and she put some music on in her room. She thanked me again for the presents Alice had brought her from us and asked if I would like to draw something on her cast!
I thought a little while and asked if Bella had rubbing alcohol and q tips in the house. She said yes, obviously curious what I was planning and got me the supplies from the bathroom. I used the sharpie markers, with alcohol to dilute the colours and make them more like paints and the q tips as sort of brushes. I painted an Arizona desert scene on her arm, hoping it would not make her feel too homesick. When I was finished Bella shouted 'Fucking hell Edward!' and I immediately apologised, but she shook her head, looked at her cast fondly and smiled. "It looks just like my old home" she said. I asked if she feels Forks is home now and she looked at me and said "I think I do now, yeah."
She looked worn out after speaking so much. I'm sure it was giving her ribs a real workout, so I suggested I return in a day or two and we could continue with the typing. I left her reluctantly, but she needed her rest.
I drove straight home and rolled around on my own bed quite a lot. She smells so wonderful.
