A/N: Warning, rated light T for Raven's dream section containing a series of toned down references to boss battles from two games. What they'll be I'll name at the bottom of the page. Also, holy moly. While I felt that the last one was a bit short, this one was waaaay longer than what I anticipated. There's a lot to do in slumber parties, and boss battles take awhile to get through if it's more than one or two in a row.
In an arts and crafts format, three female titans were having their first sleepovers in the tower.
"Joy! Our first party of the pajamas! Oh what shall we do first girls?! There is so many activities to do and yet I do not know where to begin!" Starfire exclaimed, flying around in glee over the two darkly colored pajama wearing girls with both a frown and an amused smirk on her face.
"Let's make a fort made out of pillows. That way when we're tired we don't have to spend the next 15 minutes making it." Jinx recommended.
"Oh, I know where to get the pillows!" The Tamaranean princess blurted as she raced back and forth with super speed getting all sorts of pillows.
"Do you guys seriously need this many pillows?" The metahuman asked Raven.
"When you're on a superhero team, it's best to get everything in bulk." When Starfire was finished searching for the pillows, they started making their forts. By the time Jinx was done with hers, she finally took the time to look at the others, and her jaw dropped. Starfire's looks like an actual fort with a pillow drawbridge and cannons while Raven's were magically morphed black, somehow had darkness surrounding it like night despite being indoors and bats hung upside down from places.
"Aw man, am I the one with the lamest power of the three? Being literally bad luck is already bad enough." Jinx grumbled.
"Hey, let us not focus on the putting downs and the disappointments in ourselves. This is a night of fun, and we are going to have the best pajama party!" Starfire tried to cheer her up.
"Yeah. I mean, I'd rather be bad luck than be a half-demon who has the potential to destroy the universe."
"Oh, yeah. Alright then, let's do what Star said and have some fun. And I know just the way to do it." Jinx says with a grin. A few minutes later.
"And so I'm like, "Geez Bumblebee, you need to come and hang with us for some time. Being the only girl is no fun in a team, and I should know since my team was basically a baby, a wooly mammoth, a multiplying hillbilly and a pervert. Sure we're no longer friends but I still like Gizmo and Mammoth since we've worked together for so long." Jinx talked about a conversation while they each had their hair done. Starfire had hers done with a combination of side pigtails and in the back a fishtail braid. Jinx was currently getting a corset braid with a ribbon involved from Star, and Raven had the least amount of change done to her hair by simply having a waterfall braid on the back of her head.
"Don't I know it. I love Beast Boy but aside from Star previously being the only other girl, it's also been lonely since I was the only dark girl here while everyone else is about doing whatever no matter how bright or stupid it is."
"As I think I have heard the saying, "Do not knock it out until you try it." Starfire responded, getting a giggle from Jinx.
"Well, I can certainly see both viewpoints then. Don't worry Raven, there's finally a girl here that can be nearly as dark and sensible as you."
"Thanks." Raven responded with a smile before the two dark girls hugged.
"Joy! The sleepover is going so well!" The alien warrior cheered.
"Yeah, though now I'm getting a little famished. How about we make some smores?" The pink haired which suggested.
"And how about a round of ghost stories?" Raven added.
"They both sound the wonderful! I will get the snacks!" Starfire flew to the kitchen while Jinx pushed a button which turned the rug in the middle of the room into a controlled bonfire and Raven turned off the lights. Once Jinx and Starfire had their turn, Raven started.
"Let me tell you the story of a group of teenagers walking in a forest, pitch black from clouds blocking the moon so they had to use their flashlights. They were trying to head home but they lost their path back. This particular night was especially foreboding for them, as the darkness was so black that it was like you could feel it on your skin, trying to drain what little light and life you had under your skin. It was like they were in a void where nothing existed and no matter how much they walked they never made any progress. Not to mention that it was dead silent, so their stumbling footsteps could be heard possibly miles around. They moved through the trees, with such dense overgrowth that they had to follow a straight line. Which could mean easy pickings. What's even worse is that they were out of cellular reach so there was no way to call for help or use GPS. The only thing they had was their flashlights, but the unsettling thing was that they could only see what was being directly shown, and nothing outside of the light's straight beam. As time passed, their mental states deteriorated. Worry lead to fear, fear lead to paranoia, and just when it seemed nothing would get worse, a voice called out "Hello children." When they asked what it was, the voice answered, "I'm nobody important. You're trying to find your way out of the woods? I can lead you home." As Raven spoke her tail, she was secretly implanting those very emotions to her listeners, figuring that an alien warrior and a former villainess wouldn't be fooled easily, so her powers helped grow a sense of unease. She also made the room progressively darker. Not so much so it was noticeable, but enough that the atmosphere perfectly fit the story. "...And just when the last teenager thought he got away safely, a chain wrapped around his throat, and dragged him back to-" And just then, a black chain sprung from the darkness, and wrapped around her throat, chocking the sorceress and dragged her into the infinite black abyss around them. Starfire and Jinx hugged each other, their minds full of the fear Raven implanted.
"Wh-what is the going on?" Starfire questioned while shuddering.
"I...I don't know. This is too spooky. A bolt of lightning flashed outside the tower, and a rotten corpse was just right in front of them and fell forward, frightening the girls as they screeched in sheer horror, before the corpse started to laugh and everything went back to normal. Everything was visible, the corpse was a dummy, and Raven was above literally manipulating the magic strings.
"Got ya." The half-demon sorceress chuckled with a small smile.
"Oh man, I don't know whether to be angry at you for pulling that kind of trick on me, or be really impressed that you managed to scare me that much. You're quite the story weaver Raven." The pink haired metahuman applauded. Not wanting to spoil the praise, Raven shrugged.
"Eh, it's just a story so whatever."
"Well, being terrified sure has mad me hungry."
"Oh yeah, we only made like one smore for the each of us, right?" Jinx asked. "Well, while we eat the rest of this bagged food, how about we play some truth and dare?" Starfire cheered yes in response and Raven again shrugged. "Okay, I'll go first. Raven, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"What do you fear most in a relationship? Regardless if it's Beast Boy or not?" Raven looked uncomfortable, but she did admit,
"That they would leave me because I'm part demon, and that I can't do things that they might want me to but can with others because of how my powers work.
"That's deep. Okay, your turn Raven."
"Jinx, truth or dare."
"Dare."
"I dare you to eat a piece of raw garlic."
"Heh, please. And I thought you were going to choose something hard." The metahuman rolled her eyes.
"Alright then. Eat it after Starfire has chewed on it. I double dare you." Raven ordered with a smirk. Jinx's smile dipped as Raven brought a whole garlic from the kitchen with her powers and gave it to Starfire. The alien put it in her mouth and crunched it a few times, stating in a pleased tone,
"Hmmm, garlic-y." Spitting the wad out, she offered it to Jinx, whom cringed.
"Ugh, what if Star has alien germs or something in her mouth?"
"You see her kissing Robin and nothing's bad come of it. Just eat it, or would you like a chicken hat?" Raven conjured a yellow hat with a a fake chicken head on top. Narrowing her eyes and growling, the witch took the chewed up garlic and ate it up, finally swallowing after her eyes started to tear up.
"I hate you." She said before going to wash her mouth out.
"So it is my turn then. Raven, the truth, or the dare?"
"Truth."
"Do you have any talents I am unaware of?"
"I'm good with machinery. Helps when you hang with Cy a lot."
"Oh, yes I would imagine so." Jinx came back, a frown on her face as she looked down at the sitting half-demon girl.
"Alright Raven. It. Is. On." And so a battle of dares between the dark girls commenced. Starting with Jinx and alternating between her and Raven, they did: doing 100 handstand pushups with the other laying on their feet. Letting a dozen ice cubes slide down their backs and keep them there until they melted. Drinking a cup filled with 10 random liquids. Wear hot pink nail polish. Eat from a bottle of mustard Starfire already drank from. Licking a sweaty armpit. Dance like an embarrassing uncle at a wedding. Wearing clothes on backwards for the rest of the night. Smile for 5 minutes. Drink pickle juice. Wearing their underwear on their head.
Starfire sat back as her friends dared each other with these outlandish dares, giggling and laughing all the while. When she asked why she was being excluded Jinx replied since she would do most of these things with no shame or question it wouldn't be as funny. And that's when things started to go off the wall bonkers. Raven started this time and continued the dares with: eating a piece of toilet paper(nobody likes cuts on the tongue.), licking their own foot, eating raw pasta, walk over Legos, wear Starfire's clothes, wax their legs, eat their own booger, jump head first into the trash, drink from the toilet, lick mayonnaise off the darer's big toe, cry like a baby, lick a doorknob, smash an egg against their face, sing the "I Love You" song from Barry the Lizard, walk around the room 5 times with their shoes on the wrong feet, do the hula dance, eat ice cream with hot sauce, etc. This went on for over an hour from start to finish. By the end, the two quarreling titan girls looked ridiculous. Jinx was wearing her pajamas backwards along with Starfire's clothes over her pajamas while Raven had boxers upside down over her head. And at this point, both of the girls were looking a bit green from all the stuff they either licked or ate.
"Well, I don't know what else I'm supposed to humiliate you with." Jinx groaned, holding in a belch.
"Ugh, me too. In fact, I don't feel so well." Raven agreed as she leaned against the couch.
"I have a dare for you two." Starfire spoke up for once, attracting the two girls' attention.
"Please, no more." Jinx begged, but Starfire had a mischievous grin.
"I dare you both to throw up in the same toilet." The Tamaranean dared. Both the dared females looked at each other while their stomachs growled a sickening noise.
"For once we're in agreement!" They dashed to the bathroom, leaving the giggling Starfire the ultimate winner. Once they felt much better, especially with both medicine and Raven's magic, the night went on.
"Hey Raven, let's just call it a truce." Jinx panted. "We nearly destroyed ourselves trying to outdo each other there. Let's just let the boys do this stupid insanity."
"I couldn't agree more." Raven complied as they shook hands.
"Alright. I believe the next things are the fights of the pillows?"
"Well, that should be easy en-" The pink haired girl's statement was cut off as she was punched hard in the head by Starfire, whom had her fist enveloped by the pillow. "OW! What the hell, Star?!"
"I am just doing the pillow fighting." The alien replied.
"Not that hard! It's just playful fighting! Like this!" Taking the edges of a sturdy pillow, she smacked the alien princess in the face causing her to fall into Raven. "Oh, sorry about that. Didn't mean to hit your face. Just the shoulder or chest." Jinx tried apologizing nervously, but she saw the two titan girls preparing to team up and gang up on her, especially with Raven levitating pillows around her.
"Aw crud." Jinx groaned before being attacked. Starfire in her sleep was wreaking havoc in her room, swinging her pillow everywhere and even scaring Silky away.
Set in the ancient past, when mythologies and living legends walked the earth, Raven woke up from her slumber in the large hut she lives in. Her name is Raven, but her backstory is that she's one of Trigon's children, each embodying one of the seven deadly sins, and she was Pride along with being the only daughter and sister of the group. However, she rejected her reality and tried to live a content life with her friends whom she's come to see as her real family. However, on this fateful day, the abode she lived in outside of her bedroom was destroyed without somehow waking her up, and found a note from her brothers.
"It's about time you joined the family business, sister. If you want your friends back, you'll have to beat each of us. But let it be clear we're not the same kin you left, for our father has granted us power beyond our abilities for this very purpose. Let's see if you have what it takes to win, sister." With a combination of anger and determination, Raven created a rune powered by incantations, and plunged straight to the Underworld. Landing on a platform in a dark and stormy level, it looked like it was a battle arena, and on one side was a raised balcony in which she saw one person. He was heavily muscular with his muscles looking like they're going to burst out of his skin contained by armor, and was almost twice as tall as her. Jumping down and giving a big thud from landing, he walked up to her, easily dwarfing her comparatively petite body.
"Hello...sister. How long has it been? Over a thousand years, give or take a century?"
"In here perhaps. You know time flows differently in the Underworld. It's merely been less than 5 years for me on the surface. Move aside Wrath. Despite being the most violent, you were always the weakest of us."
"That was before I was blessed by our father to try and...convince to bring you back. But I can see it in your eyes, your soul. You're willing to fight to the death for your so called 'friends.' But don't think that I'll be a pushover. I will destroy you if I must."
"So what are you waiting for? You're usually not this chatty before eviscerating someone." Raven asked. Wrath smirked.
"Call it a rare case of generosity. I just wanted to talk to my sister one last time before pummeling your face into the ground. LIKE THIS!" He tried blitzing her and smash her head in, but she floated back, evading it by centimeters while preparing herself to fight. She had to admit, while he hasn't grown out of his general berserker fighting style, constantly trying to punch her, he was faster than normal, resulting in her putting actual effort in dodging his attacks, and even thought that a punch from him like this would inflict real damage whereas they felt like flicks before, but largely he was just the same as before. To even prove it, encasing her fists and feet in black magic, she ducked a punch to swing her leg under his own, tripping the wrathful sin up before blasting him with a concentrated beam of energy from her chakra gem on her forehead.
"Even after all these years, you're still the dumb muscle of the group." Raven retorted. Getting up and shaking his head, he growled in annoyance.
"Oh yeah! Well watch this!" Leaping back towards his end of the arena, he dug his fingers into the ground, before proceeding to literally flip the table as he uprooted the ground to throw Raven off. She flew back in haste and created a shield to not be hurt, but it was merely a ruse as Wrath smashed through the massive chunk of rock and punched her shield, sending the female flying back with a gasp of pained shock. He was never able to do anything to her shields, but this time he nearly broke through and took all her effort not to faint from the strain. "Ha, do you see now?! You may still have the better speed and agility, but I nearly broke through your defense! Never underestimate the power of a Deadly Sin, especially one as volatile is Wrath! To humans, we are practically gods now! Your powers are nothing more than spooky tricks and such!"
"Ugh. Spooky tricks? You think I've spent the past five years on the surface doing nothing? You wouldn't even be able to comprehend what I can do." From her body, her soul-self, which took the shape of a black several times larger than herself, rushed towards Wrath and caught him off guard as he tried to punch it, but was overwhelmed by the sheer momentum of the projection, and he was pushed through the raised balcony, destroying it, and was sent down a cliff. Returning to Raven, the sorceress smirked again as she went to leave before the ground started to rumble. Her signature frown returned when a giant, skinless hand took hold of the cliff, and a gargantuan titan version that was her brother stared down at the shocked Deadly Sin.
"Foolish sister. Your magic has improved greatly, I'll admit, but while you spared time hanging around the insignificant living surface with your friends for five years as you say, we've accumulated power for 1000 years, along with the boost from father! Behold my power!" Swinging his arms up, he destroyed an incredible amount of the cliff face, sending boulders right at Raven.
"Hah!" With her magic, she disintegrated the portions of earth that tried to get near, and flew at her brother, firing balls of energy that exploded against him, but did negligible damage while he breathed a stream of fire which she evaded. Flying high above before coming down. He tried punching her, but she twirled around his arm, for even his greater speed was easily choreographed to her, and proceeded to get up up to his face, and blast it with her soul-self, knocking him back from the energy raven packing quite a punch. But the Wrathful sin retaliated by swinging his head back, slamming his forehead into Raven, whom couldn't react in time. Grabbing her while she was in mid-flight, he turned and slammed her into the ground, before proceeding to jump and belly flop onto her. Getting up, the son of Trigon proceeded to punch her further into the ground with his titanic strength.
"Can you feel my power now, sister?! You shall suffer for your arrogance, thinking you can get away from us with no consequence! You're no child of Trigon! You are just a nuisance who deserves to die!" During one of his punches however, a white light shined, and with a surge of power, Wrath was blasted into the air despite his mass. Raven, now fully recovered and her blue cloak and clothes now white, stared up at her brother. Once he reached the height of being pushed up by Raven, he fell with great momentum, throwing a fist out as he came like a cataclysmic meteor. But something as trivial as that was beneath her. Again summoning her soul-self from her body, it grew in size until it rival the incoming Wrath, and flew up at him, meeting the Deadly Sin head on, clashing against his fist. Unfortunately for him, her peak power was too much against his own, as he was starting to become overwhelmed. "No! NOOOOOOOO!" Wrath screamed before he exploded, muscles and sinews raining down before burning up and vanished from existence. Raven took a deep breathe as her soul-self returned. If the weakest of them were enough to push her into becoming White Raven, then this is going to be tougher than she thought. Regardless, the now white clad sorceress made another rune, and proceeded to the next floor.
Landing in a hellish landscape, there appeared to be no one around, which seemed odd until the ground below her started to rumble and crack, as the earth itself seemed to move as a hand pushed itself out of the ground, and raise the kneeling Raven high into the air as she came face to face with her largest brother, Sloth, whom appeared to be even larger then Wrath in his enlarged state, being as big as a mountain that weighed in the hundreds of trillions of tons. In fact, he wasn't just the size of a mountain, but even part of one as his morbidly obese body laid against the landscape and appeared to be part of his back now, along with legs practically underground except for his knees which were rocky hills. His skin looked scorched black, with whatever wasn't burned looking infected with brown boils and red zits the size of pyramids. He yawned for a long period before speaking in a baritone voice.
"What do we have here? Our disgraced sister enters my domain?"
"Sloth. What the heck have you been eating? I knew you were the biggest slob of all dimensions but I didn't think it'd be literally the case."
"That's what happens when you-yawwwwwn-combine not moving for millennia on end and Trigon's boon of power for me."
"Well, considering you're so fat only the landscape can support your weight now, I'll just be leaving while you rot here and maybe explode from gas build up." Raven tried to leave, but two fingers began to enclose around her, and she put up a forcefield around herself as she was lifted in between his right fingers.
"As much as I'd love to let you leave without a fight, Trigon threatens to have me exercise for eternity if I don't at least put in the minimum effort of stopping you. So you'd best prepare sister, for your death will not be clean." Needing to get away, her soul-self emerged and flashed light as bright as the sun, blinding him. "Augh! My eyes!" Landing on his right arm, she prepared herself as he turned his head in her direction. "You may have blinded me, but I know where you are." He tried crushing her with his right hand, but she was able to slip between his enormous fingers, and used her telekinesis to rip out four of his five fingernails! "OW! You didn't need to do that!" Successfully grabbing at Raven with his right hand, he gazed down at her with genuine fury. "You are an ant compared to a mountain to me, and so I'll crush you like one!" Sloth clapped his hands together trying to smush her, but light escaped between his palms and a raven pushed them apart, burning his hands even more in the process. Raven flew around him as he tried to swat at her, but the white sorceress's maneuverability was too much as he could hit where she wasn't. "That's it! If I can't crush you, then I'll just eat you!" Taking a deep breath, the air around him started to be sucked in like his mouth was a black hole. Raven tried to resist, but she was unable to escape from the vacuum and was eaten by her own brother. Swallowing to make sure, he smiled with satisfaction as he pet his tummy. That is before Sloth frowned and groaned as something was giving him indigestion, a loud rumbling coming from his stomach before it started to expand. Sloth yelled in intense pain as his abdomen kept expanding, the earth covering his skin falling away like scabs and the boils and zits popping magma. As his stomach expanded, white light could be seen glowing brighter and brighter from within, until he couldn't hold it any longer and exploded, like a sun finally escaping his gullet. The light faded as Raven descended to the ground, none the worse for wear. Looking back, his lower and mid torso were gone, except for the spine and lower ribcage where some of his organs were sliding out. "Ouch. Looks like I won't have to worry about going on a diet after all." The dying Deadly Sin weakly laughed before coughing. "Take care...sister. Be sure to eat and sleep well...if you live this." Sloth closed his eyes and stopped breathing. Nodding in acknowledgement, Raven made another rune, and went to the next floor.
This time, Raven landed on a wide pillar surrounded in a whirlpool on a stormy day. She recognized her long haired brother from anywhere.
"Envy."
"Yes, me." Envy snickered. "If there was ever anything-well, two things really-that I wasn't envious of, it's Sloth's disgusting habits, and your desertion of us, sister."
"You all treated me horribly. You all got along because you were brothers while I was shunned and beaten for being a female, despite being a Deadly Sin."
"If there's anything that women are good for, it's making sons and that's it. And even if you were a man, I always hated your prideful attitude you had, claiming you were better in us because you saw our antics as pointless and that we should do things your way because they're 'an efficient use of our time and talent.'" He spoke in a mocking tone at the end, making her angry. "You don't get to tell us what to do! Now, who do you envy most? Aha, that's it." Envy turned into Beast Boy. "You're jealous of Beast Boy because he can express himself freely. How pointless. The ability to turn into animals. Let's see if that includes mythological creatures." Jumping back into the spiraling water below, the pressure in the atmosphere started to shift. Dark green tentacles were then seen sliding in and out of the water. And rising from the depths, was Envy in the form of a giant kraken, roaring at her. He tried to swipe a tentacle at her, but she teleported away, letting it smashed into the pillar top while the sorceress reappeared and shocked it with black lightning. Two more tentacles tried to stab at her, but using her telekinesis, they only stabbed into each other instead. But instead of withdrawing, the two simply bashed into her, sending the breathless woman flying back as she was ensnared by another tentacle.
"Ugh! Azarath Metrion Zinthose!" The head of the tentacle glowed black before exploding into pulp, and she fell into the whirlpool where it was nothing but black inkiness. She couldn't see in the water, but from the combination of incoming water pressure, and a surge of envy, Raven formed a bubble that saved her from a tentacle that was going to impale her, and bounced off Envy's head. Disengaging the bubble, the sorceress latched onto one of the fins of his head, and punched light energy against the monstrous flesh, causing it to glow white and spread, disintegrating the armored skin. Twirling his aquatic body in rapid movements, he was able to shake her off, and tried to attack again by eating her, but with a blast of intense light so bright even the black ocean lit up, the Deadly Sin missed and Raven was able to land on his eyes. Stomping a light induced kick against it, rendering the eye not just blind, but now utterly useless. Letting go so that she went to the hole she made earlier, and dived right in. Screaming, Envy jumped from the water, shapeshifting back into his original body, and pounded his head.
"Agh! Get out of my head! No! I don't want to die! NOOO-!" His body exploded, and where he stood was Raven, having used a spell to seep into his body, and expel what wasn't her.
"Green doesn't suit you Envy." Making another rune, she went to the next floor.
In a realm that smelled of aphrodisiacs and lust, Raven then saw the Deadly Sin of Lust. Compared to the others, he was very handsome and suave looking.
"You really done it this time, sister. You just had to keep on winning."
"Oh, and what's wrong with that?" She asked with heavy sarcasm.
"Gluttony wanted to flee, seeing that you blew Sloth up like an obese balloon. So Greed killed him and took his power, wanting to kill and steal your power in his place. But such an easily manipulated emotion as greed would've fallen easy to someone as smart as you, so I killed him and took his power. After all, there was really nothing my sin could do even with Trigon's help against you. No one else for you to lust towards, and I just can't stomach having you lust me. I mean, other siblings is fine, but not us."
"Ew. So what are you going to do now? Just pummel me to death then like Wrath tried to?"
"Something like that, but I knew his brutish tactics would get him nowhere. That's why..." Raven just barely managed to dodge a punch aimed for her face as she tilted herself to the left. "...I'm going to beat you with speed." He tried to swipe at her even more, but thanks to utilizing Brave's instincts and Robin's training, she was able to keep ahead and either evaded or parried his blows. "Tell me sister. You have not shown power like this to us. Not once. You weren't useless like Wrath or Sloth, but even when you fought back against us you never showed your power like this. How? How did you obtain such power?
"It's my friends. I have to hold back so that no one gets hurt. But there's no one around, so now you all know how powerful I really am." Demonstrating, Raven caught Lust's kick in mid-air with her left hand and drew him in, only to kick her brother in the chest, sending him flying back with a grunt. Landing on one of his hands, he somersaulted onto his feet and went back on the attack.
"Raven! We Sins are the scourge of the Earth! The Evils of Pandora's Box, so to speak! Why does someone as Prideful as you wish to save those lower than us!" Her physical response was a punch to his gut, while her verbal one was,
"It's because even someone like me can sympathize what it feels like to be treated like garbage." Lust was blown back, smashing into a rock wall, but was soon able to dislodge himself from it, and kept attacks by blitzing towards her. Even when she sidestepped, Lust was now adapting to her moves by twisting his right arm around back and striking against his sister in the temple, like wise sending her crashing into a wall. Yet just like him, the sorceress recovered just as quickly as he did thanks to a healing spell, and retaliated with an upper cut to his jaw. Lust countered by using his flung back momentum to kick her in the jaw, but neither let the pain get to them as it became a slug fest, for using magic took too long now to use unless it was at a distance to heal. They were evenly matched in offense and defense. Lust was faster, but Raven had more actual combat experience to make up for it. But something that her brother did have was endurance having the strength of two of his brothers and their own respective Trigon boosts. Raven was keeping up, but she could feel the damage to her body was making her movements go slower. To break out of this battle of attrition, the sorceress let her soul-self surge forth and ram into Lust, pushing him back with all it could.
That'll buy her a few seconds, which is all she needs. Delving into herself, she drew on the power of her sin. "Pride, I release you." Lust was able to dispel the white raven, and cackled at his success, but it was for naught as it retreated to Raven, whom started to shine gold, and threw her cloak away.
"Ah, there you are. My true sister." Lust smiled at the glimmering image of the Raven, embracing all her emotions in full. "This will make killing you even more great!" He shouted as he rushed at her with a punch, which she perfectly returned with her own. He tried grabbing at her face but she used her arm to block it. Flying upwards, Lust mad a quick U-turn and threw Golden Raven down so she'd slam into the ground. While his retaliation was successful, when he tried to stomp on her next, she rolled out of the way and spun on her hands like a whirlwind, kicking his feet under him away and then striking his head while he was in mid tumble. Golden Raven must not let him get the upper hand again, so she tried to knee him in the stomach, but the Deadly Sin caught it, and pushed it away, only for his sister to use that momentum to spin and kick him in the chest. For the first time, Lust tried to use magic weapons by conjuring red swords by the dozens, and sent them hurtling at his sister all at once. As she parried each one away, her brother formed a red sun made from demonic energy.
But that hardly mattered when his sister teleported and kicked him in the face, breaking his concentration of the swords and the sun exploding behind Golden Raven. "Ugh, I won't lose!" Both managed to punch each other in the cheek at the same time before Lust kicked her side. Reacting quickly, the sorceress grabbed said leg and swung him around, smashing him into the ground. She tried stomping his face but he caught her foot and pushed it away, throwing his sister's balance off before pouncing, both siblings rolling across the ground until Lust managed to stay on top and started punching Golden Raven. "You don't understand at all, do you sister?! Trigon is the pinnacle of evil itself, and we are his children! We follow his will, his ideals, because that's what's expected of us! So what if you don't like it?! We liked doing it! Enacting sin in others and for ourselves was our sole purpose of existing, and we liked it!" Golden Raven was then able to blast Lust off with a surge of power, and floated up, her bruised and cut face unrelenting with its cold fury and determination.
"I've always hated you all, including myself because I was like you. I didn't stoop to your level because you guys would've been amused by it. My time growing up with you lot, I could barely stand it." Her brother tried kicking her sides again, but she caught his ankle and drew him in so that she jammed a straight kick into his jaw, snapping it back painfully. Lust fell to the ground, spitting out a couple of teeth while massaging his jaw while groaning. "I loath those who impose their wills on others that can't defend themselves. I no longer bow to bullies and tyrants." Summoning her soul-self, now colored golden, Golden Raven let it attack by ramming itself into the Deadly Sin, and soared higher higher at faster speeds. "People look up to me because I try to be good." As Lust listened despite the distance between them, his eyes widened at what she said next. "I may be a Deadly Sin, but there's one thing I have that does make me better than all of you. Humility." Her soul-self then exploded in a ball of pure golden light, disintegrating the remaining son of Trigon. But he laughed, amused by what she said.
"Humility. Heh, in a sense, I was humble of myself to Trigon. But now...I'm humbled by you." His body then became nothing more than smoke as the light dimmed down. The soul-self returned to Golden Raven. Collapsing onto her knees from experiencing so much emotion for such a long period, Raven took a moment to heal all but the worst of injuries since magic alone wouldn't fix them. Creating another rune, Raven made one final descent before finding herself in a cave where the floor far below her was made of magma and stalactites littered the ceiling. And in the middle of it all was her father: Trigon the Terrible.
"Your time has come, Raven." He growled in his feared deep voice.
"You failed to take control of me, Father. Your sons have failed."
"Oh, they weren't meant to actually convince you to join back with us. I knew you would have the power to overcome them, so they fell because it was their punishment."
"So this was just a trap?"
"Yes. Even though you must obey like a good little demon, you resist me constantly. But there is something in you that I truly wish for."
"And what would that be?" She asked. Trigon chuckled as he raised his right hand, palm facing himself, and curled his fingers. Raven felt part of her power leaving her body, screaming as Pride exited her body, wearing her sleeveless golden colored leotard and boots. "This is the daughter I've always wanted. She will help me take over the universe. I don't know how you isolated your sin into a separate personality, but the means do not matter. It is your destiny to help me enslave your universe, but I never said which Raven it had to be. Now, watch in despair as I kill your friends." He stepped aside to reveal her friends in a cage of bones, and he aimed a hand towards them.
"Father, NO!" Raven pleaded. Trigon laughed until something zapped his back, and he yelled out in pain to see that Pride attacked him while his back was turned.
"Sorry, but of all the people I hate, you're on top of the list. Even more so than Raven for imprisoning me."
"How dare you attack your maker! Your master!" Trigon roared. Raven stepped next to Pride.
"As much as I hate to admit it, but if there's one thing that can make us agree on anything, it's that you're a lousy father." Raven retorted. Overlaying their right and left hands, they spoke their signature incantations. "Azarath Metrion Zinthose!" Bright energy blasted Trigon, and before he could respond, he was gone. And so was part of the ceiling over Raven's room as her powers destroyed her room. Silkie had to wait for her to stop trashing her room in her sleep.
Jinx and Cyborg were having some dinner at the fanciest Italian restaurant in town, Caper Lawn.
"Hmmm, this five cheese ravioli is delicious. You know, that's a funny word. Ravioli. In fact, most Italian words sounds funny." Jinx giggled as she ate her romantic dinner with Cyborg.
"I know what you mean. Fettuccine, Parmigiana, and what's so special about this Alfredo person to be associated with such a succulent sauce?" He laughed as he ate his spaghetti.
"I swear, if the guy named the sauce after himself, then that's just another case of an inventor being narcissistic. I mean, so many things are named after the inventor it's not even funny. Some of them do make sense like Newton's laws of motion. Nobody's ever questioned something like that before him before. But I mean, with so much things named after their inventor, I'm surprised not everything is. Why aren't telephones named after that Alex Bell person, or airplanes after those Wright brothers? You know they would've been called the inventor's names if they were more egotistical."
"Yeah, I can see that. The acronym for Star Labs could've been called Slate since the guy founded the place. And what about that Cadmus place? I don't recall who founded it but I wouldn't be surprised either if it was named after the guy either." A loud clanging noise disrupted when Johnny Rancid zoomed past the restaurant, damaging Cyborg's car. "My ride!"
"Let's go get him and make this a to go!" The pink haired witch suggested with excitement as she took her dinner and paid for it while running out. Getting into the car, the two took off as they tried to catch the rampant motorcyclist. She and Cyborg tried firing at him, but he was being annoyingly good at making their attacks miss. As Jinx fired spell after spell in her sleep, everything around her was becoming dismantled from manipulating the chances of their integrity collapsing. Like with Raven, Silkie was hiding under her bed in fear of being disassembled himself.
A/N: Alright, I know Jinx's dream is really short in comparison but the two before this are super long and she was a significant part in Starfire's so it's not lack she's lacking overall presence in this chapter. The two games I mentioned up top is God of War and Asura's Wrath. I tried to think of Raven's dream in a horror setting but I was really struggling since horror is one of my least favorite genres. I like some but it's just not my thing. So I opted for the portion where Eris said Raven fights some monsters. And who better fits the role than the Sons of Trigon?
