A/N: Valentine's Day. A holiday most associated with the color red in general. There's all the standard red like Crayola red, crimson, cardinal. And then there's the unorthodox ones; like chocolate cosmos, cordovan, light red when it looks like it also resembles pink. But for today, we're going to focus on three kinds of reds. Rose red, blood red and scarlet. Enjoy.

Most days, Valentine's Day is a beautiful one visually as it is emotionally. But not this one. This year on the day Jump City has been hit by a storm. Heavy rain, lightning flashes and intense winds. So naturally any outdoor dates has been cancelled on this day. Starfire looked out to the storm from inside, feeling so depressed. Normally storms don't bother her and that she would try to cheer up the rest of her friends with the hugs and signs of friendship. But on Valentines Day, the one day where her boyfriend made plans which would've made it the best Valentines Day ever.

However, to her shock as she squeaked from surprise, the lights went out. For a second, she thought they simply lost power, until a disco ball came out from the ceiling, and illumanated the room with spinning sparkles, with Robin exiting the elevator. As he walked out, he started lip-syncing a rather popular song that came out relatively recently as it started.

"When your legs don't work like they used to before, and I can't sweep you off of your feet. Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love? Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?" He approached her in a slow and deliberate way that just attracted all of the Tamaranean's focus onto him, her mouth slightly open and her eyes even wider. He took her hands, and he motioned her to slow dance with him. "And, darling, I will be loving you 'til we're 70. And, baby, my heart could still fall as hard at 23. And I'm thinking 'bout how People fall in love in mysterious ways. Maybe just the touch of a hand well me, I fall in love with you every single day. And I just wanna tell you I am. So, honey, now take me into your loving arms. Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars. Place your head on my beating heart. I'm thinking out loud, maybe we found love right where we are." As he sung silently with the music, Starfire was utterly enchanted. Their slow dance had grace, and delicacy, and even though Star was lagging behind a small bit because she wasn't focused on dancing, the interaction was still mesmerizing as he slowly twirled her away while keeping a grip, bringing her back, and slowly side stepping around the rug. Even as they did more elaborate steps to the dance, their eyes never broke contact for longer than a half second.

After a few minutes of dancing as the song finished saying they found love where they are, the two sat down, and then laid down on the living room rug, staring into each other's eyes.

"Robin, that was...beautiful. How did-" He cut her off.

"I knew ahead of time the weather would ruin our date. So I set this up to show you how much I love you." Boom Box jumped from behind the couch while he was providing music and was holding a rose, and threw it at Robin to catch so he could give it to her.

"Oh Robin, you have, as your kind say, made my day. Thank you Robin."

"You're welcome. Star?"

"Yes?"

"Take off my mask." He requested. Her eyes widened. She knew that he preferred being Robin than Richard Grayson, but given the circumstance, he must be feeling good enough to be with her as himself, not strictly the superhero. Nodding once, the alien princess took his mask off, seeing his blue eyes once again.

"Hi Kori." He said lovingly. She giggled while blushing.

"Hi Richard."

"Want to watch a rom-com with me?"

"I would love to." Getting up, the two sat down and started a random movie, and pretty much ignored it since they spent the whole time kissing and whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears.

However, not everyone was having a good Valentine's Day. Standing outside of the tower, embracing the harsh rainy winds and thunderous lightning was Beast Boy on a rock looking out into the storm. This wasn't a sudden development either. As soon as stores started putting up decorations for the holiday, that was the first dent into the changeling's psyche, serving as a reminder what happened last year. Each passing day Beast Boy was a little more quiet, a little more subdued in his prankster and joking ways. And up to two days ago, his comedic aspects were nearly all gone and spent time away from the others. Now it was today, a day that he dreaded of remembering in full force. When he lost the good Terra. Any romantic feelings he had for her had lost past, but the day still stung. Terra hurt his friends. Terra hurt his Raven. He almost killed Terra. He lost a good friend. In the end, nobody had a good Valentine evening that year. His ears flickered as they sensed magic pass through the area near him, keeping the rain away and reducing the deafening wind to nothing, though only just a proximity near them.

"Beast Boy." Raven said sympathetically since she can feel his emotions.

"I know I should just forget about it." Beast Boy admitted. "I don't love Terra anymore, and you are the person I should focus on. It's just...it's still fresh and painful."

"I understand." She replied. "Not just being betrayed not once, but twice. You couldn't help her, and I got hurt. It was a massive blow for you."

"Why couldn't I have helped her? Even if I did everything I could do?"

"We can't save everyone. People have demons nobody can save them from. Terra is Gaea and vice versa. Have been for years, maybe her whole life. Love as young as yours wouldn't have solved anything." They stayed standing there like that for some time, letting their emotions stew in their minds, unable to stick to just one. Beast Boy turned to his girlfriend, his lips bleeding from biting at them and his eyes partially red as blood from how much he was crying in the rain, hot tears mixed with cool rain. He walked towards her and hugged the half-demon sorceress, whom hugged him back.

"Why can't I let go of the hurt? How can I feel better from something like this?"

"You just need time. People who lost loved one never let go of that emotional pain during that time of the year for them. But eventually, even though the pain never goes away, it will grow numb and distant. Like the memory of a wound that becomes a scar." She told him. Beast Boy clung to her for a couple more seconds before backing away enough to look into her eyes. Even if it wasn't strong and maybe even forced, he tried to smile. For himself and her.

"Right, time. You know, I'm not really up for anything too special or grand or what not. I think I'd rather just play video games and maybe meditate for today." He said, not wanting to sound to tired. She smiled from his attempt to implement both their main activities into one day.

"Sure."

"So, what do you have in mind Cy?" Jinx asked, the two of them going down in the elevator.

"Oh, you'll see." The mechanical titan chuckled, making the titan witch raise an eye brow. At first she thought they were heading to the basement, but to her surprise, they kept getting lower by the floor count.

"Cy?" She asked again, only for Cyborg to be even more giddy. When the doors finally opened up, they stepped out with the female titan gasping at what she saw. It was an underground amusement park! Filled with snow white and candy red color schemed attractions that looked so exciting. Admittedly it was small for a typical park, only a few rides and no stalls for stuff like throwing darts or slamming a hammer down to ring a bell, but this was just as good enough since it's been only a few months since they've been to an amusement park.

"Cy, you built me an amusement park?" The metahuman asked with wonder in her eyes.

"Just for today. This will have to be dismantled because it's not in the budget to keep it running long. But today will be just fine."

"Cyborg, thank you." She said as she hugged him. "Come on!" She then tugged his arm so that they went on the rides. It was a joy bouncing around in not just a bouncy castle, but one that was literally in the shape of a small castle in and out. The roller coaster was quite a rush as while it didn't have the length or twists and turns of a regular coaster, but it was made up for being like the Superman ride where they were launched straight and then curved up heading towards a brightly lit heart that said 'Cy+Jinx' at the end. The fun house was funny with it's screwy doors, tilted gravity perspective, optical illusions and such. The go kart ride was exhilarating with the tight turns, surprises and even a jumpable gap! Finally, they reached a moment to breath when they sat at the top of a Ferris wheel, stopping at the top for this exact thing.

"Wow Cy, I can't believe you made all this for me. Even if it's just for one day." She sighed, taking it all in.

"Yeah, this has been pretty awesome for me too."

"You know, thinking about when we had that pie date, and the times we hung out before I was kicked out of the Hive...that was fun. But man, being a titan, with you, for a year has been really something."

"I know what you mean." Both teens blushed silently for a few seconds before Cyborg coughed. "So uh, how was my gift?"

"Amazing." She replied. "Not many guys can say they made an amusement park for their girlfriend."

"Yeah, I be-wait, what?" Cyborg asked in bewilderment.

"I bet you made all this only to ask if I could be your girlfriend." She turned to stare into his nervous eyes.

"Umm, was I that transparent?"

"No, but it's something easily guessable. I just thought I'd answer before you even ask. Buck the trend and such."

"Oh. Uh, cool! We're together now! Booyah!" Cyborg celebrated, making Jinx laugh as she skootched closer to him.

"Still, I think I should ask just to be clear. Do you love me?"

"Yes." He said instantly with no reluctance.

"Good answer. I love you too." The titan witch said before they kissed. The Ferris Wheel then turned to take them down, and when they reached the bottom, Cyborg handed Jinx from his chest cavity a scarlet colored heart shaped box filled with chocolates. Today was so great for them.
