Bella and I were continuing our conversation through passed note in Englishs, as we have been for the past ten days or so, but this time that horse's ass Mr Berty decided to interfere. He spotted Bella and, before I could warn her, he piped up, "Ms. Swan, this is the third time this week I've caught you writing notes in class. You can either hand it over, read it aloud to the class so we can all know what is so much more important than the difference between essential and nonessential appositives, or spend an hour after school on Friday helping me reorganise my classroom."
The audacity! I stood up and hissed loudly at Berty. What a nincompoop!
"Did you just hiss at me Mr Cullen? I suggest you sit down and mind your business."
I hissed at him again. Louder.
"Well you'll be staying after school for an hour on Friday as well then."
Stupid Berty! I'm old enough to be his grandfather. How dare he! He needs to learn to respect his elders! Now my pristine disciplinary record is ruined. RUINED!Now Esme won't put my transcript on the fridge. And my beloved has to spend an hour of hard labour in his dastardly gulag. At least I shall be there to make sure he does not have her in chains or whatever typically happens in detention. I shall not stand for it!
Does he not grasp the fact that we have more important matters to attend to in his lesson than to listen to his droning on about differentiating appositives, which frankly any kindergartener would surely know how to do by heart? He was the one who interrupted us! The cheek of it!
Mr Berty shall find himself given no quarter from me. I have the address of the municipal board of education and I am not afraid to use it! I have already drafted a strongly worded letter regarding this egregious incident and I have my attorney on speed-dial (Jasper showed me how).
