A strange thing happened earlier. It is most mysterious.

Bella came over to do homework together and we were sitting in the dining room. The table seemed a bit…spongy? I'm not sure why. Even Bella looked somewhat puzzled as the table slumped somewhat under her school books.

It is not a terrible thing, but in my admittedly limited knowledge, it is not typical of late twentieth century pieces from this area. Perhaps it is a recent trend I have been unaware of.

I daren't ask Carlisle or Esme if they have modified it somehow, for fear of their sordid recollections once again befouling my mindscape. Anything but that! I shall put it out of my mind. It does not do to dwell on their marital conjugations. That way only madness lies. I am sure of it!

A/N: Reviewers get to distract Edward from the worryingly spongy table.

Thanks a million to my wonderful betas itsthatkindofanight and wh1teow1, please show some love and read Moirai, a reimagining of Twilight for the new decade!
