"It's all my fault." Danny said, tears streaming down his face as he was sitting on his bed, looking at the picture of him with his father; Jack Fenton.
"Danny…." Maddie said gently as she walked over and sat next to him on the bed. "It wasn't your fault."
"If I had been fast enough….I could've saved him before Skulker's blaster hit him." Danny protested. "I wasn't good enough. Even after these past three years of having my powers, I still couldn't even save my own father."
Three weeks ago, Danny, Jack and Maddie were trying to stop Skulker from stealing money from a bank. During the fight, Skulker shot a blast aimed for Danny, but Jack had pushed Danny out of the way and took the blast, however his head hit a nearby wall causing serious damage. After multiple surgeries, they couldn't stop the bleeding from the injury and Jack Fenton passed away.
Ever since then, the Fenton family had been hard by grief and sadness, but Danny took it the hardest. Blaming himself for what happened that night. After Maddie had left, Danny then thought of something.
Clockwork! It was a long shot, but maybe Clockwork could possible if allowed, send him back in time to save his father! He knew it may not be possible, but he had to at least try.
Without wasting any more time, Danny changed into his ghost form and phased through the floor heading for the lab. He opened the portal and went into the Ghost Zone and began to fly towards Clockwork's tower.
As soon as he reached there, he had found Clockwork by the time screens waiting for him.
"I knew you'd come Danny." Clockwork said, facing him.
Danny looked down and took a deep breath. He then requested, "I know it's not possible and what it could do but…..is there any chance, I can go back in time to save him? To save my father?"
There was silence between the boy and his mentor / really good friend. Clockwork showed the same sadness as he answered, "I really do wish I could Danny. Your father Jack Fenton, was a great man. The Observants however, already knew you'd probably come to request I send you back in time to save him and have forbidden it. I'm sorry, but I can't send you back in time."
"I understand." Danny whispered.
He then shook his head and allowed his tears to fall as he changed back into his human form. Clockwork floated over and pulled Danny into a hug, trying his best to comfort the poor boy.
"It's all my fault Clockwork." Danny kept whispering, as he continued to cry.
"Daniel, your father knew the risks and did what any father would do for his son. He gave his life to save you, so you could grow up and become the man…..the hero everyone believes you are." Clockwork said.
"Yeah but….He's gone Clockwork. He's gone." Danny said as they pulled apart.
"No Danny. Yes it's true, he may be gone, but his heart and spirit are always with you and is part of you." Clockwork said. "He lives….in you."
Danny was confused. Clockwork then turned to one of the time screens and began showing Danny images of all the times Danny had spent with Jack.

Danny continued to watch the images, from when Jack held him as a baby after he was born, teaching him to walk, ride a bike for the first time, some of the times he felt embarrassed by some of things he did, going fishing, etc.

Danny continued to watch, smiling a little when it showed him revealing his secret to both his parents after saving the world from the Disasteroid.

Clockwork placed a comforting hand on Danny's shoulder and then turned him around as a blinding light appeared before them. It took a shape and Danny's eyes widened as he saw it was the spirit of Jack Fenton, smiling proudly at his son.
Danny gasped and without hesitation, ran over and hugged his father. Jack continued to smile as he hugged him back and said, "My brave boy. I am here with you, always."
Clockwork smiled at the two and left the room to give them some time alone. Danny looked up at his father and Jack began stroking his hair as he said, "My son…..please don't continue to blame yourself for what happened to me. It was my choice to save you, because that is what a father is supposed to do. Protect their children."
Danny nodded and then said, "I'm gonna miss you dad. So…so much."
Jack hugged his son once more as he said, "I'll miss you too, but I'll always be with you. No matter where you go or whatever may happen, I am proud to have been your father and I am proud to call you my son."
"I love you dad." Danny said, tears of both sadness and joy falling.
"I love you too, my Danny-boy." Jack said, before he faded away.
Danny wiped the tears away from his eyes and looked at Clockwork as he floated back into the room. Danny nodded and said, "Thank you Clockwork."
Clockwork nodded and watched as Danny flew out of the tower and began heading home, feeling better than ever and now knew, that his father would always be with him.

Danny landed back into Fenton Works lab, where Sam was waiting for him. He smiled at her and the two shared a passionate kiss with each other in a loving embrace. When they separated, he looked behind her to see Maddie and Jazz standing there, smiling at him. He then hugged his mother and his sister, in a family hug.
