Chapter one:
Haruhi knew that there was a way for her to achieve her dream.
At the school Ouran the school of thieves. The only school of its kind that has the governments support.
Haruhi knows that most who leave this school become a part of the biggest ring of thieves ever, who have high ranking cover up jobs like fashion or medicine. She can still make her own way to her path of being a lawyer. She got high grades to make it this far. She however just needs to keep her head down... Which is easier said than done... She tends to get looked at for being a commoner like some kind of circus attraction. She is at least glad that the teachers do support her. She just hasn't been looking forward to this day.
Today her class is being given an assignment to steal something in groups.
And Haruhi got put in a group with the twins that sit on either side of her.
"Alright you three. Here is your item." The teacher hands the paper to Haruhi showing it to be an expensive looking vase. "Remember. You have until the last class of the day to steal it without detection somewhere in the school."
The twins peer at it over her shoulder at the object, and Haruhi glances back in time to see a smirk that they share.
"We know where that is." The twins mention to her and Haruhi is kind of glad.
Maybe they'll be able to get this over and done with quickly.
After class ends the trio head through the halls until coming to an area with no students.
"Are you sure about this?" Haruhi whispers glancing around.
"You can leave. Whatever." One of the ginger haired twins shrugs his shoulders. "We're not failing because of some commoner."
Haruhi stares ahead figuring of course that would be their response. She reminds herself of why she got a scholarship here. She presses forward staying with the twins.
Then three of them crouch by the entryway to the third computer lab which isn't far from the music room.
In the middle of the room between the middle and second middle row of computers is the vase on a small table.
"We saw this thing earlier when going to the club room." One of the twins mentions quietly making Haruhi wonder what club theyre in.
Haruhi brushes it aside since it's none of her business. "Okay. So let's grab it and hide it." She'll take this whole thing because the school is huge making finding a single is more tricky.
"Beginner." The other twin quietly snorts. "It won't be that easy. There's no doubt traps and alarms waiting for us."
"We gotta find another way inside." The first twin adds and the two start whispering about what traps might be there.
Haruhi ignores them and glances around the room and indeed noticing a small light from what must be a hidden laser in the doorway. She tries to track any other lasers that might trip an alarm. She can see a few in the room indicating that one would have to be careful of where they are. She then spots a vent above the vases position. "I have an idea." She mentions gaining the twos attention. She points to the vent and the twins silently agree with her.
The three glance back the way that they had come hearing footsteps.
"That sounds like guard boots." One twin mentions quietly.
"This way." The other twin leads them as they hurry as fast as they sneakily can. He takes them to the music room, which when the door opens showing a room with many tables and seats.
"What is this?" Haruhi glances around.
"The host club room." One of the twins snort. "Our clubs room. Come on. They probably are going to check here." He leads them to a back room where they duck into hiding.
The three stay hidden watching a guard stepping in from their hiding place.
The guard looks around the room checking under tables but not finding them. "Huh. Doesn't seem like they've made their way here yet." The guard sets up a fishing line wire at the doorway with an alarm then leaves.
"We'll worry about that later." Haruhi mentions and grabs her notebook as the twins look. "Okay. So I think I have a plan." She sketches out how she had seen the lasers pointing in the room. "So this is how the lasers I saw were set up in the room. That means our only chance might be to come straight down. No movements side to side or anything like that."
"Looks like it'll be a tight squeeze." One twin mentions looking over the various lines. "We should send whoever is the smallest in."
The twins eyes turn to Haruhi who dreads that she is indeed the right size for this; at least for how they want the plan to go.
Haruhi sighs. "Fine. I'll grab it. We should prepare something of equal weight in case there's something to keep track of it there."
"I think we have just the thing." One of the twins heads away and returns with a bag of candy. "We should be able to grab it before club time." He admits proudly.
"Okay. The commoner will grab it then the two of us will hide it so it can be brought to class at the end of the day." The other twin agrees and Haruhi lets out a breath.
"Let's get this over with." Haruhi agrees and she is set up with a rope around herself which was also in the club storage room.
"This vent should be able to go to that room." One twin climbs a counter to remove a vent hatch. He attaches the other end of the rope to his own waist. "Okay. Let's do this. I'll lower you down carefully."
They put on their ski masks and their special gloves that the school gives the students; a free part of the enrolment to make sure that they can do certain assignments.
"Hold on." Haruhi blinks as it occurs to her. "Won't my clothes give me away?"
The twins glance to each other remembering that she looks different. They blink as they get an idea that seems to be shared with glances.
"Stay here." One of the twins heads off elsewhere in the club room.
Haruhi wonders what solution they have come up with. She hopes that it isn't something stupid. She just wants to get this done and over with. She came here to help her way to being lawyer, she really hates these kinds of assignments.
