Prologue
A cloaked man trembled as he waited by the dark pub. His hood hung over his face.
'Why am I trembling?' he thought. He shook off the trembling and waited some more.
"Oi."
The cloaked man turned as another cloaked man limped over to him.
"You have it?" The first man asked.
The other one nodded. "Have it right 'ere." He patted his satchel at his side. He looked left and right, then turned back toward the first man. "Might be best to do it somewhere else."
The first man nodded and gestured him to follow. They walked behind the dark pub and into a gloomy alley. The first man then turned to the limping man. The limping man took off the satchel and slowly handed it to the first man.
*BING*
The men jumped.
*BING*
They both looked up and down the alley.
*BING*
The bell's tolls slowly came to a close. The limping man cowered under the sounds. The first man looked at him, eyes widened.
"You have it, don't you.."
The limping man nodded. "But I didn't directly touch the item. It is clean." His legs buckled under him. "You are safe."
The first man stayed silent, his left arm trembled. He grabbed his arm to slow it. The limping man silently sobbed. The first man kneeled down to his level.
"What is your name?" He asked.
The man's sobs slowed as he stared at the ground. "It's best to not know. If anyone knew you were with me, you'd be sent to the prison."
'The prison.' The first man scoffed.
"I'll be dead soon anyway." The man continued, his eyes shadowed.
The first man sighed. He stood up slowly and looked down at the ill man, pitying him, then turned toward the end of the alley.
"Wait!" The man called.
The man stopped walking, his back still facing the man.
"Who are you?"
The man stood there for a second then shook his head.
"Someone forgotten.."
Then he walked off, his left arm trembled once more.
