Chapter 1: The New Era
"Having liberated the Hourglass and become Keeper of Time, my next task was to restart history. Not beholden to past events, I was free to craft a New Era. It was with humility and restraint that I approached this blank canvas. After careful preparation, I began work. Painting over the darkness. After eons passed, I sketched out the realms. After eons more, I brushed them in with life.
In my New Era, all beings will have the opportunity to find peace. Whether or not they do, will be their responsibility. For my power only permits me to begin this endeavor. It is the duty of mortals to finish it."
(Earthrealm, Tokyo Japan)
Within Earthrealm, it was a dark and rainy night throughout the city, civilians were going through their daily lives in the streets. But on the rooftops, a lone figure was running across the rooftops as he was being pursued by unknown assailants. He ran as fast as he could as he carried a small bundle in his arms, the assailants continued their pursuit as one of them leapt into the air and threw a group of shuriken at him. The warrior avoided them as he dodged towards the left, seeing the shuriken pierce into a wooden door and continued running.
He ran from the assailants as they tried to catch him, but he used his agility to avoid their attacks as he held onto the bundle in his arms. He turned sharp as he used his free hand to unleash a blast of fire towards the assassins that chased after him. He killed at least three of them, but five others continued to pursue him as they launched spears at him. He managed to deflect three of the spears, but two managed to pierce into his shoulder and his left thigh. He let out a painful grunt as he landed on the ground.
He groaned as he ripped one spear out of his leg, only to see the assassins land before him as they prepared to finish him off. But they had business to handle before they could have the pleasure of killing him. "Hand it over Dragonoid, give us the Infinity Core, and we may let you live." Said one of the assassins.
But the one he called Dragonoid glared at him as he held the bundle in his arms. "I would rather die than see Naga get his claws on the Infinity Core." He told them as he ripped the only spear out of his shoulder, the assassins charged towards him as they went to kill him. He saw them coming as he formed a fireball in his hand as he unleashed it on one of the assassins at point blank range, burning his face off as he slumped to his knees while his scorched head dangled.
One of the assassins snuck up behind the warrior in an attempt to stab him in the back, but a tail reached out and snared him by his neck as he pulled the assassin off of his feet and swung him over, slamming his entire body against a fence as his body was pierced on the spikes that were lined up on the fence. He watched as the three remaining assassins charged towards him with blades in hand, he saw one of them slash at him which caused him to vade it along with another blade that came at him from his left. He dodged and weaved through each deadly strike the assassins threw at him, catching the third attack with his free hand as he bent the assassins arm back as it painfully snapped.
The assassin screamed in pain from it as the Dragonoid pulled him down to the ground, raising his right leg as he brought it down on the assassin's head, crushing it as it splattered his brains over the pavement. He was about to take care of the two remaining assassins, but one managed to slash his blade across his back, making him cry out in agony as he avoided another blade and rolled across the ground. The assassin went to strike him again, but the Dragonoid grabbed one of the dead assassins blades and used it to block the others. He knocked his blade away as he landed an elbow strike against the assassin's chest and kneed him in the stomach, making him cough harshly as he fell over.
Dragonoid took the blade he had and stabbed it into the assassin's back as it pierced through the chest with its heart on the tip of it as it continued beating for a few more seconds. Growling angrily, the Dragonoid turned towards the last assassin who was staring at him with terrified eyes. He looked almost like he shit himself as his prey ripped the blade out from the dead assassin. The last assassin was shaking like crazy as he looked into the fierce eyes of the warrior before him, he panicked as he attempted to run away in fear. Not willing to take any chances, Dragonoid threw the assassin's blade at him and watched as it flew towards the fleeing assassin.
It pierced into the assassin's back as he fell limp onto the ground, dead as a doornail. Dragonoid was panting from exhaustion from the injuries he received, but he wasn't going to let them get to him as he looked towards the bundle in his arms. He pulled down the covers as he looked to see a face, the face of a newborn child. He saw that he was sleeping soundly and that he had no injuries on him, he sighed in relief as he smiled under his hood, but his smile soon faded away as he looked ahead, seeing the bodies of the assassins around him. He approached one of their dead bodies and removed his mask, what he saw was a human with the features of a gargoyle type creature.
He knew the boy needed to be somewhere safe, away from him as he walked away from the crime scene. He needed to find a place for the child to stay, but where? He was a stranger in a strange world, he didn't know this world's customs or its cultures. Not even its natives, but as he traveled, he noticed that some of them were no different from his kind. Some were young, some were old, some loved the other, while others would commit crimes of unforgiving nature. "This realm's lifeforms are indeed troublesome… but… I'm certain I can find a home for him." He thought to himself as he traveled through the city and walked out to the hill area.
(Cue Music: Faye Suite - God of War Ragnarok)
As he traversed the hill area, passing house after house, he felt that none of them would take in the child. But as he passed by the next house, something made him stop in his tracks as he turned around and looked at it. He stared at it for a moment and made his way towards it as he made sure to be careful in his approach, for he never knew who could be watching him. He made his way towards a window and looked inside. He saw a young woman inside, about 17 years of age, brown hair that went to her shoulders.
Her name was Miyoko Kuso, a single woman who was practicing a type of yoga, but she fell back as her hand pressed against the floor as she pushed herself up, doing a well balanced handstand as she leaned back and landed on her feet. She exhaled as she performed a practice session of Jeet Kune Do as she practiced the fighting style with such focus, she did not notice the figure that was outside watching. He watched her as he was amazed by her technique, he looked at the boy in his arms as he began to whimper and cry a bit.
The warrior known as Dragonoid touched his head gently, to show warmth and comfort to the newborn baby as he calmed down. "Shed no tears my son… for you will stay here, where you will be safe." He told him as he set him down near the doorway and pulled out the Infinity Core that the gargoyle creature mentioned. He formed a protective case around it that looked like a diamond in appearance, and formed it into a necklace as he placed it around his son. "Remember this my son… you will always be loved, this relic I leave with you is sacred. If it falls into Naga's hands, he would use it to rip a portal through the realms, with no end to the worlds he would conquer. One day… it will be your time to protect our people, and those of other realms." He told him as he leaned down and kissed him on his forehead.
He kneeled down and set the baby down by the door and pushed the doorbell, Miyoko heard it and looked towards the door. She was curious, but she was cautious as she grabbed a bat to be on the defensive as she approached the door. She opened the door and looked around see's no one around, but she heard the sound of whimpering beneath her and looked down seeing the baby that the warrior left behind. She gasped and kneeled down to him, she reached down and lifted him in her arms. "A baby…? But who…?" She paused and looked around the area seeing no one around, she looked back to the back as he cried out. "Oh no, shhh, shh, it's okay. I'm here." She told him as she put the bat away and stood up with him.
The warrior watched from afar as Miyoko looked around the area for who left the baby, he knew leaving him would mean he would never remember him. But if it meant keeping him safe, the Dragonoid had no choice, he needed to leave his son. Tears glisten down his face as he turns away and spreads his wings, taking flight to leave the area. Miyoko looked around to no avail as she sighed and looked at the young baby. "I can't take you to the orphanage, who knows how the caretaker would treat you…?" She wondered as the baby began to open his eyes for the first time, he looked at her as his vision was blurry. But it became clear as he saw how beautiful she wass, like looking at an angel as the baby cooed and reached out to her. Miyoko saw it as she looked at him, hearing him squeal happily towards her. Seeing how joyful he looked towards her, Miyoko began to smile at him as she held him in her arms. "Alright… I'll take care of you." She told him as she turned around and went back inside with him. "Now then… what to call you…?" She wondered as she looked at him as he gripped her clothes. "I think I'll call you… Daniel." She said as she smiled a bit. "Yes, that's it… Daniel." She said as the boy now called Daniel, yawned as he fell asleep in her arms.
Miyoko smiled at him as she closed the door behind her with her leg, little did she know that someone was watching outside her house. Wearing a cloak around him as his eyes glowed with light, he was curious about the boy, but he couldn't risk breaking and entering. So he decided to wait, let the boy grow till he reached boyhood. Then he will see for certain as to who, and what the boy was.
(End Song)
(8 Years Later)
Dan had grown since he was left with Miyoko, he knew little of his past, but he still carried the necklace that Dragonoid left with him. He was running through the streets with a bright smile on his face as he had just left school, he ran up the hill as he was headed home. But his path was blocked when he saw someone step into his path, it was a big boy, about two years ahead of Dan as he was pretty fat to his eyes. This was Shuji, the local school bully, and he had an axe to grind. "Hey Dan, going somewhere?" He asked him with a grin.
But Dan knew what he was trying to do as he had an unamused look on his face. "Heading home, not that you have one since you live under a bridge, troll." Dan cracked a joke at him that literally got on Shuji's nerves.
"Shut it, twirp! Now… I'm only going to ask you this once, are you gonna fight me or not?" He asked him.
Dan wouldn't mind putting this bully in his place, but his mother forbade him from fighting outside their household. He sighed, knowing he wouldn't stand a chance against him anyway. "Forget it Shuji, I'm not fighting you, end of story." He told him as he attempted to leave.
But Shuji let out a chuckle as he crossed his arms. "What's the matter? Afraid your mommy's fight style won't match up to my families? Maybe it's as weak and pathetic as you are." He suggested as Dan tried not to acknowledge it, but his urges were telling him to put a foot up the bullies ass before he could speak again. "You know…" He stopped Dan from walking past him. "I hear Sister Margaret from the Orphanage has been looking for you, she thinks you're not even your moms son." He told him as Dan started to tense up.
He slowly balled up his right fist as he was slowly starting to get angry, but he tried his best to let it go. "She doesn't know anything." He retorted.
"Oh yeah? Well, you know what I think…? I think that you are a worthless little stray, that Miyoko took pity on, because she couldn't push you out of her-" Before Shuji could finish his sentence, Dan turned sharp as he landed a hard punch against Shuji's nose, causing his nose to bleed as Shuji fell down to the ground.
He held his nose and looked at him as Dan stood over him with a glare. "Shut up… just shut up! Don't ever speak of my mother that way! You don't know anything!" He yelled and ran off, leaving Shuji in his pain and misery.
He made his way towards his house and ran to the front door and opened it, he got inside and closed it. Tears were glistening in his eyes from what Shuji said, he should have kept his mouth shut about his mother. How can anyone even begin to comprehend that? He sniffed and wiped up his eyes to pretend nothing happened as he went to the kitchen, but as he approached, he could hear voices coming from the kitchen as he got closer. He could hear Miyoko and an unfamiliar voice. "The boy doesn't belong in your care." Said the woman.
"I know that Sister Margaret, but he is better with me than being at your so-called orphanage." Miyoko argued with her.
"How we deal with children is none of your concern, what is the main concern is you handing over the boy to us. Because you adopted him illegally, and he needs to be under proper care." Sister Margaret told her with a stern tone, that immediately made Dan panic when he heard it.
He peaked inside the kitchen seeing Sister Margaret, a stern elderly woman who looked like she constantly had a stick up her ass. Miyoko glared at her for how disrespectful she was towards her in her own home, she stood up from her chair as she glared sternly towards the caretaker. "You come into my home, alone… threaten to take my son from me?" She said as she walked towards her, leaning down to her face showing just how pissed off she was. "And think that you can just walk out of here…?" She asked her.
Dan watched as he looked towards Sister Margaret, who was holding onto a straight face but was clearly sweating like crazy. "I am taking the child Miyoko, whether you like it or not." She told her, only to get grabbed by the top of her dress as Miyoko dragged her towards the front door as Dan watched them.
Miyoko forced the door open and threw Sister Margaret out of the house, hearing her scream as she watched her fall to the ground and roll onto the sidewalk as she looked towards Miyoko with a shocked expression. "Daniel is staying with me, so stay away from him! Or else I will bring Hell straight to your orphanage!" She warned her as she slammed the door.
Sister Margaret stood up from where she landed and glared at her household. "You have no legal authority to own that child Ms. Kuso! I will report this to the police, and there is nothing you can do about it!" She yelled as she stormed off to her car and got in, starting it as she drove off.
Miyoko watched through the window as she sighed and closed the curtain, leaning against the wall as she held her hand to her face. She let out a long exhale, knowing she will be true to her word. "What am I going to do…?" She asked herself, but the minute she heard footsteps, she gasped and looked ahead and saw Dan standing before her. "Daniel…? How much of that did you hear…?" She asked him.
Dan looked down feeling sad of what he heard. "Enough… I just got home, then I heard you arguing with that old lady." He told her as Miyoko couldn't believe that her son witnessed all of it. "Is it true…?" He asked as he looked up at her. "Are you really not my mom…?" He asked her.
She approached him and kneeled to him as she touched his shoulders. "No… no, of course I am. I just-"
"Don't lie to me!" Dan yelled as Miyoko was caught off guard. "You don't have to lie to me… you can tell the truth, no one else is here." He told her as he lowered his head, waiting for her answer.
She stared at how helpless he was, she couldn't bear to see him this way as she pulled him into a comforting hug. "It's true…" She told him as he opened his eyes and glanced towards her. "I found you on my porch on a rainy night, someone had left you there for me to find." She explained as she pulled away to look him in the eye. "So I took you in, knowing you would be miserable at the orphanage. I couldn't let you be pushed around by Sister Margaret, that cruel witch may seem like a nice nun, but she is nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing." She explained as she placed her hands on both his cheeks. "Listen to me carefully Daniel, I love you, no matter what she says, whether you're my son or not." She told him as he stared at her with tears.
He tried to fight back the tears, but he rushed up to her and hugged her. Miyoko wrapped his arms around her as she smiled with tears glistening in her eyes, her smile quickly faded as she held him and looked out the window. "I can't let them take you… in fact, I won't let them take you." She declared as she pulled away from him and looked into his eyes. "I'm going to get this matter straightened out, if it's the last thing I do." She told him as she smiled.
"But what if you can't?" Dan asked her.
"Then god help me if they take you." She told him as she touched his head. "I won't let it happen, that's a promise." She said as she smiled at him and held him in her arms, Dan hugged her as he smiled with tears in his eyes, trusting her words as he held her close.
Later that night… Dan was outside in the backyard while his mother was cooking dinner while trying to place a restraining order towards Sister Margaret, he stared at the stars as he was lost in thought. "If she's not my mother… then who were my parents…?" He wondered.
It was then an unknown figure approached him from out of the darkness. "I wondered the same thing." He said as Dan gasped and looked towards him, seeing his glowing eyes as he was wearing a cloak and hood. The stranger held his hands up defensively, to show he wasn't a threat. "Calm yourself young one, I won't hurt you." He assured him.
But Dan was far from convinced as he took on a stance his mother taught him. "Sure you don't, you were probably sent by Sister Margaret to kidnap me." He retorted towards the stranger.
He observed Dan's stance as he walked around him, but Dan kept him in his sight to make sure he didn't try anything. "Jeet Kune Do, an effective fighting style. But do you know how to use it?" He asked as he stood in confidently and held out his hand. "Come on then." He gestures to attack him, Dan was confused at first, but he shook his head and hardened himself as he charged at him. He leapt into the air in an attempt to pull a high kick against him, but the stranger quickly dodged his attack as Dan landed on the ground and went to slide kick him. He raised his leg in an attempt to avoid it, Dan anticipated it as he flipped towards him and landed a kick to his abdomen.
The stranger backed up and looked at Dan as he stood firm in his stance, glaring at the stranger as he held his balance. "My mom learned from a great master in China, so now she is teaching me the basics." He told him as he charged towards him, the stranger saw him throw a few punches, making him use a single arm to block his attacks as he avoided a few kicks in the process. He used his legs to block a few kicks he thrusted towards him as he kicked at Dan's shins, making him yelp as he backed away to rub them.
He groaned from how painful it was as he looked towards the stranger who smiled under his hood, he stood ready for the next attack. "One thing you should learn is strategy, for brute strength cannot win against every opponent." He told him as Dan yelled and went to attack him, the stranger avoided his attacks as he moved with such inhuman speed, Dan could barely keep up. He tried his best to try and hit him, but the stranger avoided his next attack and smacked him in the back of the head. He left the boy stunned from how well he managed to attack him the way he did, Dan stumbled across the ground but turned towards the stranger as he saw him smiling. "You are letting your anger get to you, something you must learn to control. I'm sure your mother will show you as you grow older." He said as Dan rushed towards him and went to attack him.
The stranger avoided it as he blocked his attacks with a single arm, but to his surprise, Dan was moving at equal speed. Something like this had never happened though, the stranger was intrigued as well as surprised. He avoided Dan's attacks the best he could and went to attack him, but the young eight year old managed to land a few punches in his torso. The stranger let out a couple of grunts as he backed away, blocking Dan's next few attacks as he caught his next punch and pushed him away. Dan stumbled a bit as he glared at him, he wasn't going to give up as he charged towards him. He went to attack him, only to see him leap over and place his hand on his head. Dan felt it as he saw the stranger balancing on his head with ease. "Hey!" He yelled as he tried to get him off, the stranger smirked and avoided getting smacked as he flipped over and pushed Dan over. He let out a grunt as he fell to the ground, the stranger landed on the ground and gently landed like he was levitating.
He smiled as he walked over to Dan, walking in front of him as he saw him getting up. "Your mother taught you well, but you still have much to learn from her if you are to become a great fighter." He told the young man.
He groaned angrily as he pounded his fist to the ground. "It's not fair, you were twice my size, and still able to beat me." Dan complained.
"That is because I am no stranger to kombat, I have faced many warriors in my time. But none more determined to prove himself, other than you, Dan Kuso." He told him as Dan's eyes widened in surprise and looked at him.
"H-How do you know me?" He asked him.
The stranger smiled as he kneeled down to him, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Do not worry about that now, I will ensure that you will not leave your mothers side. You still have much to learn from her, and more to understand in the future." He told him.
Dan looked at him, seeing the truth of his words as he looked into his glowing eyes. "Daniel! Dinner's ready!" Miyoko called out to him, Dan looked towards the house when he heard it and looked back towards the stranger. But when he looked to where he once stood, he was gone, like he was never there. Miyoko opened the door to the backyard and looked towards him with a smile. "Daniel, did you hear me?" She asked him.
Snapping out of what he went through, Dan looked towards her and smiled as he got up from the ground. "Coming mom!" He said as he walked towards the house, Miyoko smiled as she walked inside with him to have dinner together.
(11 Years Later, Outworld)
Within the realm of Outworld, a group of people were gathered around a caravan as they were greeted by someone that appeared merely, as an old man. "My friends, your patience is about to be rewarded." He told them as the people were curious to what he meant by that. "For I have saved the best for last. I have recently discovered a cure-all of unrivaled potency. It will soon be on the shelves in every home of Outworld." He explained as he gave quite a convincing performance to the crowd. "This elixir is crafted from an ancient recipe. It has petreon flowers, margovian nectar, powdered teeth of an Arctikan Dragon. All this and more, infused with powerful Lekorian magic." He told them as he pointed out. "There is a village, in the next canton over, where everyone has purchased this miracle cure. Overnight, all diseases, even Tarkat, have disappeared." He informed them as the audience was intrigued by this development, while he reached back and pulled out a bottle of elixir. "Now magic this potent is expensive. And I am sure you're asking yourselves: "Can I afford it?" but the true question you must ask is: "Can I afford to be without it"?" He asked them as he smiled.
"You lie, Shang Tsung." Said a man as the old man he called Shang Tsung, looked towards him as his smile faded. "Your cures are useless!" He declared as the people backed away as he marched towards Shang Tsung, with fists balled up and holding a very angry expression.
Shang Tsung saw it as he tried to remain composed, despite the situation he was in. "I'm sorry. You are?" He asked him.
"Someone fool enough to have believed you. My daughter was dying when you came to my farm. You promised a miracle and I gave you all I had." He told him as his anger was mixed with sadness. "But only days later… she was dead." He told him.
But this revelation only made Shang Tsung laugh as he tried to keep calm. "That is impossible. My magic could not have failed her." He told him.
"THERE WAS NO MAGIC!" The farmer yelled at him. "I took your elixir to an imperial mage and you know what she said?" He asked him as he snatched the elixir and smashed it on the ground. "It's nothing! Just Borjang Tea!" He yelled as the crowd gasped while some shot glares at Shang Tsung.
Meanwhile he was growing nervous as he stammered. "T-The mage was mistaken, kind sir. My elixirs are of superior quality. Their efficacy is guaranteed." He tried to assure them, but his words fell on deaf ears as the farmer grabbed hold of Shang Tsung and threw him onto the ground. He groaned from the impact, only to look and see the villagers gathering around him to punish the fool for trying to lie his way out of the current situation.
Later that night as it started raining, Shang Tsung was battered and beaten as he stepped out of his caravan and sat on the steps. He set a case on top of his knees and opened it as he looked at himself in the mirror, looking at his appearance as he sighed and reached back. He pulled off what appeared to be a wig and a latex mask, he pulled off his beard showing his real face as he was really a young man. Broken by many who saw him as the farmer did, worthless beyond words. That is, until fate intervened. "It is an excellent ruse, your disguise." Said a feminine voice as he turned to see a woman, shrouded in darkness, but eyes could be seen in the dark. "Backwater folk are more likely to trust a kindly old man." She told him.
But he did not accept her kind compliment, believing she was one sent by one of his old clients. "Here on behalf of another dissatisfied customer?" He asked her as he looked at her. "If it's revenge you want, have at it. If it's restitution, there's nothing left." He told her as he looked away.
"What I want, Shang Tsung, is to elevate you." She told him as she approached a couple feet away. "To make you the great sorcerer that you can only pretend to be." She said to him as he looked towards her.
"A generous offer. Why me?" He asked her out of curiosity.
She smirked as she looked at him. "You are uniquely resilient. Who else could eke out a living traveling Outworld's hinterlands, selling quack cures and fake magic?" She asked him as she saw him stand up.
He scoffed as he turned to her. "A living? It is barely survival." He told her.
She soon started walking towards him, revealing herself in the light as a woman, in a black dress, with silver patterns engraved like armor. "And you were meant for more. To live among kings, not peasants." She told him as she looked into his eyes. "But since before you were born, you have been conspired against. By those who fear how formidable you could become." She told him.
Shang Tsung looked at her as he became curiouser, and curiouser by the minute. "How do you know this? Who are you?" He asked her.
"I am your deliverer, Shang Tsung. Join me and I will put the realms at your feet." She offered him the opportunity, once he heard it, he couldn't help but grin at the idea of him ruling the realms.
(Earthrealm, Fengjian China)
In Earthrealm, in the province of Fengjian, two hard working boys were in the fields, harvesting crops together as they wore sun hats to block the sun's rays. One of the boys used his farm tool to dig into the ground as he grunted a bit. "This is a good harvest, Kung Lao." He said to his friend working beside him.
"Yes… mmmph! It is a blessing, Raiden." He told him as he took the chance to relax, for he was feeling rather annoyed with the harvest.
Raiden let out a scoff when he heard how annoyed he was. "You would rather we starve?" He asked him.
"No, no. Of course not. But we've worked these fields since we were kids. In forty years we'll still be here, stooped and feeble like Old Man Wei." He pointed towards an old man who was hunched over, he looked at the boys and spat at them as he shot them a glare.
Kung Lao merely waved at him as Raiden chuckled at him. "As long as I've known you, you've dreamed of leaving Fengjian. Why can't you be happy here?" He asked him.
"Our ancestors fought in great wars. They died with honor and glory. Stories of our great adventures… hah… will be passed down for generations." Kung Lao told him with a hint of sarcasm.
Raiden plowed his side of the field when he heard it as he was panting. "It may not be glorious, but what we do helps the village thrive." He reminded him.
"I know. But is it so wrong to want some excitement?" Kung Lao asked him.
Raiden thought about it for a moment and smirked as he looked towards him. "If that's what you want, may I suggest a bet?" He asked him as Kung Lao grew curious about what he had in mind. "Dinner at Madam Bo's, tonight. Last to fill their cart pays." He laid the bet down.
Kung Lao looked between him and the crops they needed to harvest as he looked back to Raiden with a smirk. "You work faster than me? Ha! Since when?" He asked, only to point a finger at him. "You're on, Raiden." He told him as the two shook hands and prepared themselves for a long harvest ahead.
Meanwhile, since that fateful night, Dan and Miyoko managed to complete the restraining order against Sister Margaret, even had her fired for being a total bitch towards Miyoko, and towards the orphans she was charged with taking care of. Dan was now 19 years old, basically a full grown adult at this point. He and Miyoko were on a trip to Fengjian to meet with an old friend of Miyoko's, who he wondered? She didn't tell him as they traveled through the town, taking in the stunning sights as they walked together. "Just look at it Daniel, this was where I first started training to be a martial artist." She informed him.
"That was probably long before you adopted me, I mean you must've been… what…? 13, 14?" He asked.
"15, Daniel, I began training when I was 15, and I adopted you when I was 17." She reminded him as she nudged him.
He chuckled from it as he blocked his mother's attack. "Okay, okay, so where are we going to meet this person?" He asked her.
"Her place is actually not far from here, we're almost there." She informed him as she walked beside him, Dan walked with her as he looked ahead and his eyes widened seeing it was a restaurant. He could even smell the aroma coming from it as he took in a deep breath, tasting the flavor with his nose. "You smell that Daniel…?" Miyoko asked as she smiled. "That is the smell of Madam Bo's kitchen, working hard to satisfy the customers." She told him.
"Hopefully they got good lointips." Dan commented as an elderly old woman approached them.
"As much as you would like, young man." She said as she approached them and looked at Miyoko. "Miyoko, how are you?" She asked her as she hugged her.
Miyoko chuckled as she hugged her in return. "I'm fine Madam Bo, thank you for asking." She said to her as she let go. "This is my son, Daniel." She introduced him.
Madam Bo approached him and observed him carefully, she smirked as she placed a hand on her hip. "He's certainly a looker, he must take after his father." She complimented his looks, which made him surprised as he quickly felt like she was flirting with him.
Meanwhile Miyoko was chuckling nervously when she saw her intentionally flirting with her son. "Ohh Madam Bo, if you only knew." She told her as she cleared her throat. "We're here visiting my old training grounds, to show him where I learned my techniques." She informed her.
Dan quickly put it together as he gasped in surprise as he looked between his mother and Madam Bo. "Hold up, you mean Madam Bo was the one who trained you?!" He asked her in complete shock and awe.
"I certainly am, young man. I helped mold Miyoko into the fighting force that she is today, and it looks like she has you learning everything I taught her. Maybe even a few lessons in attracting women I imagine?" She asked him with a sly smirk on her face.
It immediately made Dan very uncomfortable from how she was talking to him. "Okay, now I know she's flirting with me, I better change the subject fast." He thought to himself as he cleared his throat. "Well, that aside, Madam Bo… what say we find ourselves a seat, shall we?" He asked.
"Since you asked, right this way." Madam Bo gestures to them to follow her as she leads them to a table in the restaurant, the mother and son follow her to the table and take a seat. "So Miyoko, are you still keeping up with my lesson?" She asked her.
"As often as I can, and since I had Daniel in my life, I decided to show him what you showed me." Miyoko informed her.
"Hopefully he was better than the two new students I was given." Madam Bo mentioned as she gave them two menus to look at their latest dishes.
Miyoko took hers but looked at her old mentor with a smirk. "You took on two new students?" She asked her.
"Yes, Raiden and Kung Lao… they're always getting into trouble. They might be on their way here from the fields as we speak, take your time in choosing what you want. I'll be right back." She told her as she walked away to take care of the other guests.
Dan watched her go and glanced at Miyoko. "Tell me, has Madam Bo always been so-"
"Flirty? Yes, mostly with boys younger than her, probably even her new students. God help them." She answered as she shook her head and took a cup of tea from a waitress and sipped it.
Dan tilted his head a bit as he took a cup of tea and held it in his hands. "I'm definitely feeling sorry for them myself." He commented as he sipped his tea and looked over the menu, but just as he was about to order, he noticed Kung Lao and Raiden walk in and took in the aroma of the restaurant.
Kung Lao loved the smell of the food inside as he exhaled and touched Raiden's shoulder. "That. Is. Amazing." He said as he patted his companions shoulder.
He chuckled as he looked at him. "I'm starving, I wonder what Madam Bo is making tonight?" He wondered as he saw Madam Bo walking towards them.
"For you two? Whatever you want." She informed them as she led them to Dan and Miyoko's table.
"Thank you, Madam Bo. You spoil us." Kung Lao told her as he followed her with his companion.
Madam Bo waved her hand at him with a smile. "Like the sons I never had. Come, there's someone I want you to meet." She informed them as the boys followed and saw Dan and Miyoko sitting before them. "Raiden, Kung Lao, meet Dan and Miyoko Kuso." She introduced them.
Kung Lao looked at Miyoko and exhaled as he looked towards Dan. "Your wife is quite a looker, Mr. Kuso." He complimented as Dan spat out his tea when he heard it.
Miyoko saw it as she hid a giggle when he spat out his drink, he eventually shot an annoyed glare at him for what he said to him. "She's not my wife, she's my mom you idiot!" He yelled with a blush as everyone in the restaurant looked towards them surprised.
Raiden chuckled as he looked towards Kung Lao. "Nice way of making new friends Kung Lao." He told him as Madam Bo flicked Kung Lao in the ear, hearing him yell from it.
"Miyoko was my student long before you ever were, so show some respect." She told him as he sighed and sat down with Raiden. "Have you two been practicing my lessons?" She asked them.
"As we can. The harvest leaves us little time for martial arts." Kung Lao informed her.
"Since your first words, Kung Lao." She smacked him over his head. "You've mouthed nothing but excuses. If you fail to prepare…" She waited for his answer.
"Your preparations will fail you." Kung Lao finished her motto.
"Good. You haven't forgotten. But we'll see if I make you something special tonight." Madam Bo told him as she walked away.
Raiden smirked and looked towards Dan. "So, Daniel, what brings you and Miyoko to Fengjian?" He asked him.
"It was my mom's idea actually, she wanted me to come here to meet her mentor who taught her everything she knew. What I wasn't expecting however was Madam Bo being so flirty with me the first chance she had, is that normal?" He asked them.
"Trust me, she's like that with every guy she sees, young or elderly." Kung Lao informed him as he looked towards Miyoko. "So Miyoko, what was it like training under Madam Bo?" He asked her out of curiosity.
She chuckled a bit as she held up her cup of tea. "Let's just say that she was less strict on me than she is with you." She informed them as she sipped her tea.
"What? No… what'd you do to get on her good side?" Kung Lao asked, trying to get close to her secret.
But before she could answer, she smirked as she grabbed him by his left wrist. She gave him a gentle touch as he was intrigued by what she had in mind, but before he knew it, Miyoko bent his wrist back as he let out a painful yell as he twisted his arm back, making him turn around as he groaned in pain. "I didn't question my mentor's lessons and showed some respect, that's what." She told him as she let him go.
Both Dan and Raiden snickered as Kung Lao was in a great deal of pain, even some of the customers chuckled at how well Miyoko handled the situation. Raiden saw him get back up and sit next to him. "I'm glad you're paying. Madam Bo might just pad the bill with her anger." He told him, much to Kung Lao's dismay as he looked at his friend.
"I am paying? You finished work last." Kung Lao reminded him.
"Something we should know about?" Dan asked them.
"We had a bit of a bet earlier in the frields, but I delivered my cart first." Raiden jabbed at Kung Lao.
"Delivered? The bet was "filled"." He reminded him.
"That's not what I remember." Raiden denied it.
Miyoko chuckled as Kung Lao was starting to fume, but that didn't stop him from smirking as he had an idea in mind. "So that's how it is, eh?" He asked as Dan looked towards him. "What do you say we settle this man to man? Hmmm?" He asked as he gestured for him to follow, Raiden smirked as he followed while earning the attention of some guests in the restaurant.
Dan watched as he looked towards Miyoko. "They're not serious about this, are they?" He asked her.
She shrugged her shoulders as she sipped her tea and got up. "Well, best to see what they got, don't you think…?" She asked as Dan looked at her in disbelief, but he sighed and shrugged his shoulders as he and Miyoko followed the boys to where they're going to fight.
Meanwhile, Raiden was laughing in disbelief as he followed Kung Lao, it was then that he realized he was serious. "Wait. You mean fight?" He asked him.
"Yes. Right here, right now. Madam Bo and Miyoko can watch, critique our form." Kung Lao suggested as he pointed towards Dan. "Dan could even jump in at round two if I beat you in the first fight." He said as he glanced towards Dan who looked back at him surprised.
"You and me, fighting each other? No way." Dan tried to decline.
"What's the matter, City Boy? Afraid you'll get embarrassed in front of your mom?" Kung Lao asked him.
That did it, Dan shot a strong glare towards him as he inhaled and exhaled. "Mom… permission to knock this guy on his ass?" He asked her.
"Do so, and I'll see to it that Kung Lao pays for the meal." Miyoko offered as Dan smirked and followed Raiden and Kung Lao, unaware that the stranger from whom he met as a kid, was sitting at a table wearing his hood as he watched them.
Raiden and Dan followed Kung Lao to an open area in the restaurant as guests watched them from a safe distance. "Best two out of three?" Raiden asked him.
"Fair enough." Kung Lao accepted as he prepared himself.
"We must be careful. Madam Bo will kick us out if we break something." Raiden warned him as he prepared himself as Dan stood on the sideline to wait for his chance against him.
Kung Lao let out a hearty chuckle as he looked at his friend. "This won't last long enough for that to happen." He told Raiden as he took on his fighting position as Raiden did. "You will be down in no time." He told him, Raiden smirked as he was the first to make the first move. Kung Lao avoided his attacks as he blocked a few punches he threw at him, Raiden thrusts a few kicks at him to hit his sides and his head.
Kung Lao blocked each kick with his arm as he struck Raiden in the face, forcing him back as he thrust a kick towards his chest. Raiden quickly redirected it as he elbowed Kung Lao in his chest, landing a few good punches against his torso as he kneed him in his chest. Kung Lao saw him going for another knee to his chest that made him hold out his arms and block it before it could reach him, he shoved Raiden away as he nearly knocked over a table with a few tea cups. Dan rushed over and caught them before they could reach the floor, exhaling as he looked at Raiden. "I got the tableware, you focus on the fight." He told him as Raiden nodded his head and got up as he blocked a few of Kung Lao's punches.
He sent them fast towards Raiden as he went to kick him, but he kicked Kung Lao against his shin as he let out a grunt as he rubbed his shin from it and charged as he flipped into the air and kicked at Raiden. But the blue cladded fighter avoided it as he dodged his next kick, Kung Lao thrust another kick at him as he pushed himself off the floor and nearly knocked over a few cups and plates from the table. Dan quickly caught each dish that nearly hit the floor as he set them back to where they were. Meanwhile Miyoko and Madam Bo were observing their forms as they fought each other. "They got pretty good skills, I'm surprised you took them both on as students." She said to her mentor.
"I needed a challenge, and as you can see, they both have great skills. Kung Lao possesses potential as a master of Wing Chun, while Raiden has the skills of Taekwondo." Madam Bo explained as she looked towards Dan. "Dan it seems to be following your example, you taught him Jeet Kune Do." She said as she observed his style.
"I taught him the basics, he has yet to learn the advanced set. But we are getting there." Miyoko informed her as she looked at the fight, seeing Raiden trying to best his rival in their little spar. But Kung Lao deflected each of his attacks and redirected his next punch as he was close to falling against a table, Dan quickly caught Raiden from behind and pushed him as he flipped back and landed on the railing of the restaurant as the guests were stunned by how well he's keeping everything from getting smashed.
Raiden meanwhile managed to land a few hits against Kung Lao's torso and hit him against his face, this managed to get Kung Lao infuriated as he avoided his next few attacks and landed a few punches against him as he elbowed him in his chest. Raiden went to grab him, but Kung Lao pulled an Uno Reverse card on him and wrapped his arm around his head as he slammed his fist against the top of his noggin and threw him over as Raiden fell to the ground. He groaned from it as he held his head from the beating, Kung Lao smirked as he crouched over. "Had enough?" He asked him.
But Raiden was far from finished as he got back up and thrust a roundhouse kick, Kung Lao ducked from it only for Raiden to slide kick him as he managed to trip him over. He tried to stand on his own, but Raiden lunged towards him as he landed a hard kick against him as Kung Lao backed away as Dan moved a female customer out of the way as Kung Lao nearly fell. He saw Kung Lao run towards Raiden, Dan looked to the customer to check on her. "You okay?" He asked her.
She stared at him as her face was literally red when she stared at him, but she nodded her head as he smiled and let her go and rushed to keep the restaurant from getting wrecked. Meanwhile, Raiden and Kung Lao were trading blow for blow, but Kung Lao was gaining the upper hand as he landed a few hits against Raiden and punched him hard to the point he knocked him down to the ground. The crowd cheered for Kung Lao as he turned to his adoring fans and bowed to them. He smiled and walked over to Raiden and lent him a hand, Raiden took it as Kung Lao helped him stand up. "You haven't beaten me yet." He told him.
"The day is coming, Kung Lao. And Daniel might actually make it happen." Raiden told him.
But Kung Lao laughed at his words as he nudged him. "Keep telling yourself that." He told him as he turned towards Dan and stroked the brim of his hat. "Alright, City Boy, you and me." He told him as he prepared himself for his fight against Dan.
Dan watched him as he was about to prepare himself, but Raiden grabbed his shoulder making him stop as Dan looked towards him. "Word of advice… don't hold back." He told him as he removed his hand from his shoulder.
"Trust me Raiden, if there's one thing I know, it's to know how my opponent fights." He told him as he looked towards Kung Lao. "And he will be no different." He told him as he walked towards him, Kung Lao watched him approach as he stood in place on the center stage. "Hope you're ready to pay for dinner." He told him.
"If anything, you and Raiden will be paying for our meal once I mop the floor with you." Kung Lao replied as he took on his fighting stance, Dan watched as he shook his right hand and held up his fists taking on his own fighting stance as his feet moved in place. Kung Lao noticed as he saw the way he moved, wondering what style it was. But he shrugged it off as he smirked and charged towards him, yelling as he went to punch him. But before he knew it, Dan threw a high kick to his face which barely made contact. But Kung Lao gasped as he could feel the force of it against his face as the customers gasped in surprise, they could barely tell what just happened as Dan smirked as he pulled his leg back and kicked him in his chest making him back up.
Raiden was surprised when he saw it, he watched as Dan exhaled and rubbed his thumb across his nose and stood ready for Kung Lao to come at him. As anticipated, Kung Lao charged towards him as he lunged towards him in an attempt to kick him, Dan moved to his right and avoided the kick as Kung Lao swung his right arm at him to land a strike. Dan avoided it as he landed a good smack to the back of his head, causing Kung Lao to stumble and catch himself before he fell down. He was stunned as he looked towards Dan feeling stunned, the stranger remained seated as he watched the fight between them. Dan meanwhile was smirking as he gestured to him to come at him, the customers looked towards Kung Lao seeing that he was getting angry.
He yelled as he ran towards him, he flipped forward in an attempt to kick him over his head. Dan blocked it and avoided a few punches as he caught his left arm and smacked him against his face and twisted him around as he flipped over, seeing him slam against the floor as he backed away from him. The customers cheered as they watched Dan humiliate Kung Lao, Miyoko smiled as she leaned back against the table. "That's my boy." She commented.
"You really did train him well, I can see that he may be more than what he seems." Madam Bo said to Miyoko.
"I know, but I wouldn't want Dan to change, no matter the situation." Miyoko replied as she watched the fight, Kung Lao sent a flurry of punches towards Dan as he managed to block each of his punches while avoiding a few low blows. He caught a kick from him and pulled him forward as Kung Lao's legs stretched, making him groan from it as Dan pushed him back and kicked him in his abdomen. Kung Lao let out a painful grunt as he landed on his feet and held his stomach, he groaned with a glare towards him as he yelled angrily and went to punch him. Dan blocked his attack, landing a few good punches against his abdomen and smacked him over the face.
He backed away from the smack as he shook his head and glared, he grabbed a bowl of soup and threw the liquid out towards him. Dan quickly reacted by grabbing a bowl from a table behind him, and used it to catch the soup as he set it back on the table as he avoided a roundhouse kick from Kung Lao. But that was only a distraction as Kung Lao slide kicked him at his feet, tripping Dan over as he fell towards the floor. He managed to break his fall by planting a hand against it as he looked towards Kung Lao, seeing him about to kick him while he was down. Dan used his only free arm to block his kicks as he struggled to get back, but Kung Lao wasn't going to give him that chance as he used his fists to try and pound on his back. Dan grunts from it as he tries to block them while he was on the floor, having dealt with enough of his abuse, he flipped forward to avoid the next attack as Kung Lao punched into the floor. He saw it as his fist got stuck, he struggled to get it out only to turn and see Dan kick him hard in his face. Kung Lao's fist was freed from the floor as he was sent flying towards the railing as a few customers managed to move the tables out of the way as he hit the railing.
He groaned in pain from it as he rubbed his face and saw Dan waiting for him to get back up, he glared as he grabbed onto the railing and pulled himself off the floor as he exhaled and popped his jaw to get it back into place. Both he and Dan get back into their fighting stances as they prepare to finish the fight. Kung Lao pulls his foot back which Dan notices as he sees him charge towards him, sending a punch towards him only for Dan to move to his right as Kung Lao sent a few punches at him while Dan smacked them away and ducked under an overhead swing from his arm. He pulled himself back as Kung Lao sung his other arm at him, narrowly avoiding his punches as he grabbed them and held him in place.
Kung Lao wasn't going to quit yet as he kicked at his feet to make him back up as he kicked his hands away and thrust a kick at his abdomen. Dan moved to his right and avoided a punch from him as Kung Lao threw high kicks at him to push him back, he soon slide kicks at him and knocked him over. Dan immediately anticipated this as he landed on one hand and kicked him hard against his neck, making him stumble over as he tried to balance himself. Raiden was surprised by the course of action as Kung Lao regained his senses and yelled in an attempt to beat him senseless. But Dan kicked him against the back of his thighs and landed a few good punches as he blocked a kick from him, allowing him to land two powerful kicks against Kung Lao as he was sent flying across the restaurant and hit the floor.
He groaned in pain as everyone cheered for Dan as he exhaled and dusted himself off and walked towards him, Miyoko smiled as she was satisfied with the results. Kung Lao groaned as he held his torso and saw Dan approaching, he walked up to him and lent him a helping hand. Seeing this, Kung Lao sighed as he took his hand and got up with his help. "Damn, that was some technique." He said to him while fixing his neck. "What was that style?" He asked him.
"Jeet Kune Do, something my mom came up with when she was training me at eight years old." He explained while dusting him off and smirked. "You could learn a thing or two from her, if you are able to pay attention." He told him.
Raiden chuckled when he heard it and walked over touching their shoulders. "On another matter, it looks like you'll be paying after all, Kung Lao." He told him as Kung Lao had a shocked look on his face. "Miyoko said that if Dan won, you'll be paying for their meals." He reminded him.
Much to his dismay, Kung Lao had no choice at this point as he shot a glare towards Dan. "You got lucky, but I will want a rematch later. Because next time, I'll beat you." He told him.
Dan chuckled as he patted his shoulder. "Keep dreaming." He told him as he and Raiden walked back to their table to get their meals.
(Later that Night…)
There were dishes sorted all over the table as Dan, Raiden and Kung Lao were bloated from eating so much. Raiden meanwhile was looking at the bill as he saw how much that needed to be paid, he turned to Kung Lao with a surprised look on his face. "You were hungry." He told him as Kung Lao belched and groaned a bit.
"Fighting can work up an appetite, you know that." Dan told him as he belched a bit.
Miyoko let out a chuckle as she sipped her tea. "You boys could have eaten the whole restaurant." She commented as she looked to see Madam Bo as she approached them. "Everything was delicious, Madam Bo." She told her.
"Thank you, Miyoko. You and the boys are always a pleasure to cook for." She told her as she turned to Kung Lao and held out her hand for the payment.
He sighed knowing he lost against Dan and pulled out his cash, he started paying her what was owed. She gestured for more, given how many dishes were delivered. He paid her another and was about to pay one more, but the dollar flew out of his hand and flew across the restaurant. The dollar was soon caught by a man, wearing a mask and a ninja gi as he held the dollar in his hand and looked towards Madam Bo with a stern look. "Madam Bo. The Lin Kuei await your answer." He told her as several members of the Lin Kuei approached from behind him.
Dan looked at them as his eyes narrowed, and his skin tensed up as the warrior in gray approached Madam Bo, who was displeased to see him. "I have been busy, Smoke." She told him as she turned and walked off.
Dan watched him follow her as he looked at the other members. "The Lin Kuei? Who are they?" He asked them.
"Don't know. But I don't like where this is going." Kung Lao told him as he felt nervous.
"What do we do?" Raiden asked.
"Stay ready." Miyoko advised them.
"Madam Bo, it is a simple choice. Pay for our protection, or risk harm to this fine establishment." Smoke declared.
"You'll get nothing from me." She told him as she was putting her foot down.
"That, Madam Bo, is unfortunate." He told her and nodded towards his fellow Lin Kuei as they began trashing the establishment, several customers began rebelling as Smoke turned to Madam Bo.
She suckerpunched him in the face and tried to hit him again, but Smoke blocked each and every one of her punches as he grabbed hold of her and smacked her face and slammed her head against the railing and tossed her over his shoulder as she fell down screaming and slammed onto a table below. "Madam Bo!" Kung Lao cried out as he, Raiden and Dan rushed to stop Smoke.
"I'll take care of Madam Bo, you stop the Lin Kuei!" Miyoko rushed down to help her mentor, while Dan nodded and rushed towards Smoke with Kung Lao and Raiden. The gray ninja threw a ball of smoke onto the floor, creating a large cloud of vapor around them as the Lin Kuei charged towards the trio and went to attack them. Kung Lao roundhouse kicked one of the Lin Kuei away as Dan punched one several times in the face and kneed him in his jaw, knocking him down as Raiden blocked another's attacks as he kicked him a few times and kicked him hard in the back.
Kung Lao punched another Lin Kuei a couple times in the face before knocking him out as he and his friends walked to confront Smoke, only to walk into a plume of smoke as it made them cough harshly from the vapors. Seeing they were disoriented, Smoke snuck up on them and knocked all three of them away as they hit the floor. He made the vapors disappear as he walked towards them. "You three are brave. But against us… you are in over your heads." He told them.
Dan and Raiden looked back as they saw more Lin Kuei ninjas coming towards them, they looked at each other and nodded their heads as they rushed to stop them. Meanwhile Kung Lao was left to deal with Smoke as he walked towards him. "We don't care who you are, or who you are with. You will not menace Madam Bo!" He told him as he took on his fighting stance while Smoke summoned a karambit knife out of thin air. He dashed towards Kung Lao and slashed at him with his blade, Kung Lao used his agility to avoid the blade for it looked sharp as he narrowly dodged the slicing motions that Smoke sent his way.
Smoke sent a slide kick towards his feet as it made contact with his right foot and nearly knocked him down as he slashed at him with his karambit knife, Kung Lao quickly reacted as he blocked his attack and flipped over him as he kicked him hard against his side, forcing Smoke to stumble as he spun his blade around and slashed at him with it. Kung Lao grabbed a chair to use as a shield and blocked his blade, Smoke went for a strike from underneath the chair only to see Kung Lao block it as the blade pierced into the wood. He struggled to get it out, but Kung Lao threw it away with the chair as he landed a few punches against Smoke's face mask.
He let out a few grunts from the punches as he backed away and shook his head, he saw Kung Lao jump into the air and come down to kick him. He quickly vanished and turned into vapor without him realizing it as Kung Lao landed on the ground, looking for him as he kept his guard up. "What's the matter…? The vapors getting to you?" He asked him as he appeared and punched him hard in the face, causing him to stumble and look at him surprised. "A little trick, taught to me by my father." He informed him as he summoned his karambit knife back to him as he smirked behind his mask.
"Okay, that's not fair." Kung Lao commented as he avoided the blade as it nearly scratched his face, Smoke slashed at him a couple times with his blade with great speed. Kung Lao caught him by his wrist on the next strike, only to see him drop the blade and catch it with his other hand as he attempted to stab him. He quickly caught his arm and threw him over his shoulder as Smoke slammed against the floor and rolled away from him, he got back up as he threw a ball of smoke at his feet and made him disappear. Only to reappear in the air as he screamed and fell down, Smoke leapt towards him and landed a few punches against him as he grabbed him by his coat and kicked him down as he hit the floor.
He groaned as Smoke landed and walked towards him. "As I said, you're in over your head. You and your friends." He told him as he went to attack him while he was down, but Kung Lao flipped backwards as he kicked Smoke in the face as he let out a painful grunt. Kung Lao was back on his feet as he exhaled and charged towards him, landing a few punches against his torso as he thrust a kick against his abdomen. This caused Smoke to grunt in serious pain, but he grabbed his leg and attempted to strike it with his karambit. Kung Lao quickly reacted as he grabbed a pair of chopsticks and caught the blade before it could reach his leg, he twisted it with his wrist as he punched him and got his leg released.
He twirled the chopsticks around his fingers as Smoke slashed at him with his blade, Kung Lao blocked each attack with the chopsticks as he landed small painful strikes with them and went to hit his head. Smoke blocked them as they sliced onto the blade, which made Kung Lao panic as he gasped. "Hey!" He cried out as Smoke sliced at the chopsticks, cutting them down to size as he slashed at Kung Lao's torso. But he leapt back and looked at how short the sticks were to his knuckles. "Whoa, my knuckles were barely missed!" He exclaimed as he dodged Smoke Karambit, the ninja went for another strike only for Kung Lao to kick it away as he roundhouse kicked him in the face.
Smoke stumbled a bit and rubbed his jaw from the kick as he turned towards Kung Lao, he made his blade vanish as he held up his fists. Kung Lao stood ready as Smoke charged at him and went for an attack, the ninja struck as Kung Lao avoided and blocked each of his attacks while taking a few hits to his chest and face. Kung Lao returned the favor but landed a few quick jabs into his torso and landed a swift uppercut that made Smoke go into the air. Kung Lao leapt towards him as he landed fast jabs against him along with a few hard kicks, he flipped forward as he slammed his heel against his chest, knocking him hard towards the floor as he slammed against it and fell unconscious. Kung Lao landed as he looked at Smoke, seeing him out cold as he smirked. "Now who's in over his head?" He asked him as he heard Dan and Raiden fighting the other members of the Lin Kuei. Dan knocked out a few members as he landed hard hits to their heads while they were on the floor, while Raiden managed to land a few good strikes to another ninja and knocked him towards Kung Lao as he caught the ninja and let him down easy on the floor. "This was you?" He asked him.
Raiden was panting a bit as he looked towards him and lowered his fists. "Honestly, I'm surprised too." He admitted.
Dan walked up and touched his shoulder. "You did good, Raiden. Come on. Let's go help my mom and Madam Bo." He told him and Kung Lao as the trio were about to proceed downstairs, but they soon stopped and looked up seeing someone above them. It was another Lin Kuei warrior, dressed in blue and silver as he glared at them. He shot ice towards them which caused them to step back as it froze the floor in front of them.
They were stunned by what he did, it was then they heard the sound of something swinging as they looked towards the door and saw another Lin Kuei warrior, dressed in yellow, wearing a gold mask as he swung a kunai tied to a rope. Meanwhile the one in blue formed another ball of ice as he glared at them. "Freeze where you stand!" He yelled as he shot it towards them, they dodged it as the ice hit the corner of the railing instead.
They were still stunned from his power as they looked at him with shock and awe. "How does he do that?" Raiden asked.
"I have no idea." Kung Lao said in a worried tone.
"You interfere with Lin Kuei business. Leave, or face our wrath." The blue ninja warned them.
Dan glared as he got up showing his eyes as they glowed without him knowing. "Abandon Madam Bo and my mother? Not happening." He told him Kung Lao and Raiden stood beside him, the blue ninja was smirking behind his mask as he lunged down towards them as he tackled Raiden and Kung Lao down the steps to the lower levels of the restaurant.
Dan went to help them, but felt the yellow ninja's kunai wrap around his ankle as he pulled Dan's leg. He struggled with him as he pulled his leg back and let it touch down to the ground, but the yellow ninja wasn't going to let him go that easily. "GET OVER HERE!" He yelled as he pulled him off his feet and dragged him over, Dan groaned from the floor but got up as he flipped forward and kicked him hard in the face, forcing him to roll over and back up as he shook his head from the kick.
Dan walked towards him with a stern glare as he held his arms out. "Want more? I have plenty." He told him.
"You should have fled when you could, outsider. Prepare to regret ever crossing the Lin Kuei, and to feel the sting of Scorpion." He told him as he held his kunai, but Dan was not intimidated by his threat as he charged towards him. Scorpion saw him approaching as he blocked his punches and saw a kick coming towards him. He leapt back to avoid it as he roundhouse kicked Dan in the face, he took his kunai and threw it at him as Dan moved to his left and caught it with one hand. He exhaled and saw Scorpion charging towards him and thrusting a kick towards him, Dan redirected his kick as he smacked him in the back of his head seeing him stumble across the room. He turned to him as he saw Dan moving his feet in place, he became cautious as he stood up and prepared himself.
Dan watched him carefully as he prepared for the worst, Scorpion narrowed his eyes as he grabbed a kusarigama and tied it to his rope. This made Dan's eyes widen as Scorpion swung the kusarigama towards him, he quickly dodged it as he stepped back to avoid it cutting his legs. Scorpion leapt into the air and twirled as the kusarigama went to strike him, Dan saw it coming down towards him and reached out and caught the weapon as he held it and glared at the yellow ninja. Scorpion held the rope as he held his ground, suddenly flames formed from his hands which caught Dan's attention as his eyes widened. Scorpion shot the flames along the rope towards his hands to burn him, Dan braced himself for it as the flames drew closer. But once the flames touched his hand, he barely felt the heat as he held onto the kusarigama. Both he and Scorpion were stunned by this revelation. "Huh… I can barely feel it." He commented as he released the kusarigama as Scorpion brought it back to him, he caught it and looked at Dan curiously.
"No one has ever survived my flames before. You're not Lin Kuei, nor are you Shaolin. What are you…?" He asked him.
"Honestly, for 11 years I'm still figuring out who I am. But I won't be revealing my origins to you." Dan told him as he grabbed a kitchen knife and threw it towards him, Scorpion quickly knocked the blade away only to see Dan leap towards him and kick him hard in the chest. He fell back and rolled across the floor, he pulled himself back up and glared as he teleported through flames behind him and appeared above Dan to attack him. Dan looked up and saw it as he quickly rolled away avoiding his strike. He swung his kunai at Dan to land a killing strike, but Dan grabbed a spare kitchen knife and blocked his attacks to avoid getting killed. He wrapped his blade around his wrist and redirected his next strike as he landed a punch against his face, Scorpion felt it as he spun around and threw a high kick against him and hit his face making him stumble. Dan saw him coming in for another strike, he blocked his attacks as he landed a few quick jabs against his side and landed a solid kick against his back.
Scorpion let out a painful grunt as he turned towards Dan and threw an elbow strike against him, smacking the side of his head as he thrust a kick back with his left leg and kicked his stomach. Dan felt it hit him as he managed to catch him by his ankle and hold him in place, his eyes snapped open as they were glowing fiery red which surprised Scorpion as Dan let out a yell and threw him across the room. Scorpion yelled as he slammed against the wall of the restaurant and fell to the floor, he groaned and shook his head from the impact and looked towards Dan. His eyes widened when he saw his fiery aura as it became that of a Dragon, he didn't know what Dan was, but he knew that he was not of Earthrealm. He got up and exhaled as he stood ready, Dan chuckled as he held out his arms. "Still want to fight? I thought after that fall, you'd be out of the fight." He told him.
"It'll take more than that to bring me down, but listen close. I don't know what you are, but you are not the human you believe yourself to be." He informed Dan as he was surprised by this response, Scorpion took this chance to attack him while he was distracted. He landed a few punches against his abdomen and struck him against his neck as Dan went to attack him. Scorpion went to stomp down on him, Dan quickly rolled away from him to avoid getting stomped on. He pushed himself off the floor and flipped backwards as he avoided Scorpion's kusarigama as he swung it at him, he flipped back towards the wall and pressed hard as he pushed off the wall and thrust a kick towards him and landed it against Scorpions chest.
Scorpion stumbled back when he felt as he saw Dan coming at him, he blocked a few of his punches as he managed to land a punch to his chest and against Dan's left cheek as he went for a roundhouse kick. Dan quickly moved out of the way to avoid getting kicked, but Scorpion slide kicked him with the same leg to trip him over as Dan felt it hit his right leg, making him fall over. But Dan caught his fall as he landed on his left hand and kicked him on the side of his head, which made Scorpion call down and hit the ground. Shaking his head in a daze as he struggled to get back on his feet, Dan watched him get up as he tried to break out of his daze and confusion of what just happened.
Seeing he wasn't going to give up, Dan stood ready for what he was going to throw at him next. Scorpion managed to get his mind clear as he looked towards Dan, he exhaled as he threw his kunai towards him, only to see Dan avoid it as he caught it again and threw it back towards him as it pierced his own shoulder. Scorpion let out a painful grunt as Dan charged towards him and leapt into the air, kneeing him in the face as it pushed him off the ground, allowing Dan to land two kicks against his chest. He flipped forward as he brought his heel down and slammed it against his abdomen and slammed him down on a table as it smashed into pieces. Dan looked at Scorpion seeing he was unconscious, he pulled his foot off of him and backed away. "It is you who will regret crossing me." He told him as he turned to where Raiden and Kung Lao were taken by the other ninja, and rushed over to the railing as he saw them fighting the blue ninja.
He saw the blue ninja punch Raiden away as he dodged a kick from him, landing another punch as his leg tripping him over and he kicked him in the chest as Kung Lao went to attack from behind. The blue ninja avoided it as he grabbed his arm and punched him in his ribcage and threw him over and slammed him on the ground, Raiden panicked when he saw how skillful he was. "Raiden, Kung Lao, this way!" Dan told them as he gestured to them to climb up, Kung Lao rushed to where Dan was and parkoured up the wall and grabbed his hand. Raiden meanwhile climbed up one of the posts to escape the blue ninja. He watched Raiden flee as he raised his leg and stomped on a table, making it collapse as he ran up the table and jumped up as the table boosted his momentum.
Raiden saw him coming as he got kicked into one of the only remaining customers in the restaurant, nearly knocking over his beer as he caught it, looking cool as a cucumber as he ignored the fight. Raiden grabbed a blade and pulled it out of a pig's head and slashed it at the ninja, who quickly dodged it as he avoided an overhead slice and pulled back as Raiden nearly sliced his neck. He continued to avoid his attacks as Raiden managed to slice open the beer for the old man as he took it and poured himself a drink as Raiden sliced at the ice ninja one more time, only to miss as his blade pierced into the counter as the ninja froze his arms to the table, trapping him as he struggled while the old man took a chunk of ice and put it in his drink.
Raiden turned to the ice ninja and tried to kick him, but he backed away from Raiden. Kung Lao saw that his back was turned, and took his hat as he tossed it towards him. But the results were not in his favor as the hat merely bonked the ice ninja in the back of the head, making him groan in annoyance as he slowly turned towards him while his hat was bent. Even Dan looked towards him with a deadpan stare, seeing how stupid a plan that was. "Really…? Did you think that would slice his head off or something?" He asked him as Kung Lao shrugged his shoulders at both him and the ice ninja.
"Incompetent." The ice ninja mocked him as Kung Lao turned towards a chakram on the wall, he rushed to it and pulled it off the wall and threw it at him as it managed to scratch his arm as it pierced into a wall and barely missed Raiden.
"Ho! That works." Kung Lao commented with a smirk.
But the ice ninja was further annoyed by his arrogance and started walking towards him. "I have had enough of you." He told him as Dan stepped up beside Kung Lao.
"Then go, before we put you down like the rest of your Lin Kuei." He warned him.
But the ice ninja was far from intimidated. "You haven't a prayer against the Lin Kuei's grandmaster." He told him as he prepared himself for combat, Dan and Kung Lao looked at each other and stood ready to face the cryomancer. He formed a dagger made of ice and struck at them, both warriors avoided his blade as Kung Lao blocked it and caught his wrist in an attempt to take it from him. The ice ninja made it disappear and reappear in his other hand as he slashed at him, Kung Lao dodged it as Dan rushed up and kicked the blade away as Kung Lao rapidly punched him in the chest and punched him hard in the face as Dan kneed him in the chest.
The cryomancer backed up from it as he formed a ball of ice and threw it at them, Dan took cover with Kung Lao as shots of ice went over them and pierced into the table they hid behind. The cryomancer formed a sword out of ice and sliced at them, Dan saw it coming as the sword sliced towards them through the table which made his eyes widen. "MOVE!" He yelled as he and Kung Lao ducked under the blade as it went over them, the cryomancer took the blade and brought it down like a hammer as Dan and Kung Lao quickly rolled away to avoid the deadly strike.
But the cryomancer shot an icicle towards Dan as it pierced his shoulder, he let out a yell as he rolled across the floor and held his shoulder. The cryomancer walked towards him, forming a blade of ice, smirking behind his mask. "I warned you, no one has ever survived against Sub-Zero and lived to tell the tale." He told him as he advanced towards him.
"Back… off…!" Dan warned him as he felt something happening to him.
But this made Sub-Zero chuckle as he held the blade up. "What's the matter…? Fearing death so soon…? I haven't even started!" He went to strike him.
But Dan reached out and caught him by his wrist, leaving him stunned as Dan looked up to him with glowing fiery eyes. He clenched his right fist and flames erupted from it. "I said… back… OFF!" He threw the fist and slammed a fiery uppercut against his jaw and knocked him away like he was a ragdoll as he crashed against a table.
Kung Lao was surprised as he looked at Dan who was panting from what he just did and looked at his hands as flames surrounded them. "How did you do that?" He asked him.
"I don't know… but… it might come in handy." He said as he looked towards Sub-Zero, who got up from being knocked out. He shook his head as he looked towards Dan and shot a harsh glare towards him, Dan grabbed the icicle in his shoulder and ripped it out as it melted in his hand and his wound healed without him knowing. Sub-Zero charged towards him as he attempted to strike him, Dan blocked his punches as he caught his forearm and pinned his arm as Kung Lao punched him and kicked his knee making him kneel down. Sub-Zero retaliated by forming a dagger and went to strike at his leg, Kung Lao quickly avoided the strike as he flipped backwards as Sub-Zero continued to try and strike him.
Dan rushed over and caught the next strike as the flames around his hand melted the dagger as he landed a few heated punches against the cryomancer and swung a left kick and struck against his face. Sub-Zero was sent flying back from the kick as he landed against a wall, he groaned as he rubbed his face and looked towards him with a glare as he stared at the flames around him. "What are you?" He asked him.
"Your friend wondered the same thing, and I'll give you the same answer I gave him. I don't know what I am, nor am I gonna tell you of my origin." Dan told him as he stood firm towards him, glaring at the cryomancer.
"I know ways to break you, and when I do. I will exploit your abilities so they can benefit the Lin Kuei!" He declared as he charged towards him, Dan saw him jabbing towards him as he deflected his attacks as he smacked his next attack away and landed a punch against his face, flipping forward as he landed a cartwheel kick against his head and slamming an uppercut against his jaw. He could hear his jaw cracking and a few of his teeth breaking in the process as Sub-Zero was launched into the air. Kung Lao took this opportunity to leap into the air as he grabbed him by his gi and elbowed him in the face while landing a hard kick to his chest as Dan caught Sub-Zero by his ankles and pulled him down, slamming him against the floor as the cryomancer let out a painful grunt.
Kung Lao landed on the ground as he walked towards Dan, seeing him on the floor as he struggled to get up which made Kung Lao chuckle. "Sorry, but I have to ask: can any of you Lin Kuei fight?" He asked as Sub-Zero got back up and shot a ice ball towards him, Dan got in the way and instinctively shot a fireball towards it as it took the shape of a dragon and consumed the ice as Kung Lao looked towards him feeling shocked. "Any other surprises I should know about?" He asked him.
"Believe me, all of this is like relying on instinct. But we'll worry about that later, we still have this guy to worry about." Dan reminded him as he and Kung Lao looked towards Sub-Zero as he formed an icy mist and shot ice balls toward them, the two warriors avoided each of the shots that were sent towards them as they took cover. Dan grabbed onto a table and threw it towards him, Sub-Zero quickly ducked from it as the table missed him. He turned towards them only to get suckerpunched by Kung Lao as he went for another punch, but Sub-Zero blocked his attacks as he landed a few punches against him to push Kung Lao back as he saw Dan coming and blocked his attacks as he elbowed him in his chest and backhanded him in the face. He formed a large icicle in an attempt to stab him, but Dan deflected it and broke it in half as he grabbed onto his shoulders and kneed him in his sides and punched him against his nose. This caused Sub-Zero to back up as Kung Lao leapt and kicked him in the head, forcing him to fall down to the floor as he was defeated by both warriors.
Kung Lao saw that he was down as he lowered his fists as he smirked, feeling victorious. "Are you sure you're a grandmaster?" He asked him as he looked towards Dan who was holding a flame in his hands as he looked at it in awe. "You gotta teach me how you did that." He told him.
"I wish I could, but even I'm stumped on how this is possible." Dan replied.
"That's great and all, but don't you think you can help me out here?!" Raiden asked as he was still frozen to the counter.
Dan saw it as he rushed over to him and saw the ice was still around his arms. "Alright, stay still. I'm still new to this, so I don't want to burn your arms in the process." He told him.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Raiden assured him as he prepared himself for it, Dan exhaled as he focused on trying to summon the fire again. It began emerging around his hands as he carefully used the heat to try and melt the ice around his arms. Raiden winced from feeling the heat as the ice melted off his skin, once he was loose enough, he quickly pulled away as the ice fell off of his arms. He groaned as he shook them to try and get some blood flow, because his arms were literally numb after feeling how cold it was as he looked towards Dan. "Where did you learn to do that?" He asked him.
"I'm still trying to figure that out." He told him as he looked at the flames, feeling something within that he never imagined. But he put out the flames and looked out to where Madam Bo fell and turned towards Raiden. "We better check on my mom and Madam Bo." He told him as Raiden nodded and followed him downstairs.
Kung Lao meanwhile walked towards his hat as he saw a pretty big dent in it as he picked it up, he dusted it off as he put it back on and looked towards the chakram he threw as it was giving him somewhat of a crazy idea. "Interesting." He commented as he stroked the brim of his hat.
"Kung Lao, over here!" Raiden called out to him as Kung Lao looked over the railing seeing the unconscious Madam Bo, he rushed down to them as Miyoko and Dan were checking on her.
Kung Lao approached and looked at her, feeling worried as he stood beside Dan. "Madam Bo." He said with a worried tone.
"She's out cold." Miyoko informed him.
This made Kung Lao more worried as he looked at her. "Oh no. Is she–"
"Dead?" Madam Bo asked them as they jolted back in surprise. "Not yet." She told them as she got up, looking like she didn't even get hurt as she pulled out a cigarette and a lighter and lit it.
Miyoko saw it and sighed as she stood up. "I thought you quit…?" She asked her.
She inhaled some smoke as she pulled out and exhaled it. "Old habits." She told her.
"Madam Bo, how are you–" Kung Lao tried to ask as he was in disbelief.
It was then that Raiden noticed someone approaching. "Dan, Kung Lao!" He pointed to the figure as Dan and Kung Lao watched him approach.
The figure walked down the stairs as he looked towards Dan, showing his glowing eyes as he removed his hood. He immediately recognized him as the stranger from 11 years ago. "You…?" He asked him as Raiden and Kung Lao looked towards him.
"Friend of yours?" Raiden asked him.
"I thought of him as a mere stranger 11 years ago, but to see him here?" He asked as he looked at him as he approached.
The stranger smiled as he looked towards Miyoko and Madam Bo. "So, Miyoko, Madam Bo, are they ready?" He asked them.
"A bit thick in the head, perhaps." Madam Bo informed him
Miyoko smiled as she turned towards him. "But they are ready." She told him.
Dan was surprised but confused by what she said. "Mom, what are you saying? Who is this?" He asked her.
"All will be explained, Daniel." She told him.
Meanwhile Raiden was taking notice of his eyes as he turned towards Kung Lao. "His eyes are glowing." He pointed out.
The stranger meanwhile held his fist and palm together as he motions his arms around to them. "I am Lord Liu Kang, God of Fire and Protector of Earthrealm." He introduced himself.
"God? Earthrealm?" Kung Lao asked in confusion.
"Madam Bo and Miyoko have been preparing you three for this moment since you were boys." Liu Kang informed them as Madam Bo nodded to Raiden and Kung Lao, while Miyoko nodded her head to Dan who was surprised by this revelation. "Today you have proven worthy of joining my champions." He told them.
"This fight was – a test?" Raiden asked.
"Of your ability and character, yes." Liu Kang answered.
"Damn… should have noticed." Dan said in disbelief.
Liu Kang smiled as he approached him and touched his shoulder. "You've already proven yourself years ago when you and I faced each other, you were still but a boy. Now look at you." He said as he turned to the Lin Kuei. "Bi Han, Kuai Liang." He called out to the ninja they just fought, showing that they were only playing dead as they got up.
Bi Han (Sub-Zero), and his brother Kuai Liang (Scorpion), rose up with Smoke as they proceeded down stairs to where they were. They stood behind Liu Kang as Kung Lao looked at them, trying to piece together what was going on. "So these two aren't thugs?" He asked them.
"The Lin Kuei is a centuries-old clan dedicated to Earthrealm's defense." Liu Kang informed him.
"You keep saying Earthrealm. Don't you mean Earth?" Raiden asked.
Madam Bo shook her head when she heard him. "You boys have so much to learn." She told them.
"Earth is only a part of Earthrealm. Earthrealm itself is one of many realms. Together they comprise the whole of the universe." Liu Kang explained to them.
"The realms can be fierce, bitter rivals. That's why we need champions to defend ours." Miyoko informed them as Dan looked towards Kung Lao and Raiden.
"The time draws near for the grand martial arts tournament between Earthrealm and the realm of Outworld. Held once each century, it allows each realm to demonstrate its strength. While our realms are at peace, there are Outworlders who would prefer us to be at war." Liu Kang informed them.
"What's to stop them from going to war?" Dan asked him.
"Our victory in the tournament will… temper their zeal." Liu Kang told him.
"Just as Miyoko has taught her son Daniel everything she knows, I've taught you everything I can. All three of you must finish your training with Lord Liu Kang." Madam Bo told them.
"More training? These two couldn't defeat us." Kung Lao pointed out to Sub-Zero and Scorpion, Sub-Zero let out a scoff as he shot a glare towards him while Madam Bo was laughing which caught him off guard. "What?" He asked her.
"They were pulling their punches." She told them as they had a look of disbelief on their faces.
"Had we not held back, you would not have survived." Sub-Zero told them with a threatening tone.
But Dan shot a glare as he clenched his right hand as fire surrounded it. "You want to go for real, Frosty?" He asked him.
Liu Kang got between them before they could try and rip each other apart. "Enough, both of you." He told them as Sub-Zero scowled and backed away while Dan put out the flames in his hand. "Come. The monks at the Wu Shi Academy await to continue your tutelage." He told them.
Kung Lao stepped up eagerly as he held his fist to his palm. "I am ready, Lord Liu Kang." He told him.
He nodded his head to Kung Lao as he looked towards Dan and Raiden. "And you, Raiden? Daniel?" He asked them.
Raiden's arms were crossed as he was conflicted with what was important. "Leave Fengjian? I'm needed here." He told them.
"Raiden, what if a war does break out? Then the people of Fengjian, or the entire world would be in imminent danger. We have to prevent a war from breaking out, and if this tournament can help prevent it?" He asked as he turned towards Liu Kang and Miyoko. "Then I'm in." He declared as he smiled.
Miyoko smiled proudly at him, for he was no longer the little boy she raised. Raiden meanwhile was still conflicted with the whole ordeal, but felt Madam Bo touch his shoulder as he looked at her. "Earthrealm needs you, Raiden. You'll best serve the village by being one of its champions." She told him.
Taking her words to heart, Raiden nodded his head in understanding what was needed of him. "I understand." He told her.
Liu Kang smiled as he nodded his head. "Excellent. I will join you soon. First, there are other champions I must gather." He told them as he walked away with Sub-Zero.
Scorpion was about to follow, but he stopped as he turned towards Dan. "You are in fact a skilled warrior, but your control over the flame will need tempering." He informed him.
Dan let out a sigh as he shrugged. "Well, that depends. Are you offering to teach me?" He asked him.
"My fire is different compared to yours. Lord Liu Kang may very well be the one to teach you how to control it. I wish you the best of luck in your journey, Daniel." He told him as he followed his brother and Liu Kang out of the restaurant.
Dan watched them go as he turned towards Miyoko. "When were you going to tell me?" He asked her.
She smiled as she walked up to him and touched his shoulder. "I know keeping it a secret was wrong, but Madam Bo told me about it while you boys were eating. If you're upset, I understand." She told him.
"I am upset, but… who am I to be angry with my teacher?" He asked her as he smiled a bit.
She smiled at him as she touched his face. "I may not know who your real parents were, but know this. You are mine. Mine to me… no matter where you go, or what they may call you. You will always be my son." She told him as tears glistened in her eyes, Dan smiled at her as he pulled her into a hug. He knew this won't be the last they see each other, but he can't help but feel that his new training will take him farther away from home than he believes. This will be a journey of epic proportions, one that he never would have imagined.
(Author Notes: Hey guys, now I know I'm kind of pushing most stories back, but this one, given Mortal Kombat 1 will be released soon? I wanted to experiment with something that no one has ever thought of on Fanfiction. A Mortal Kombat x Bakugan Crossover. It would set around the New Era of Liu Kang's design, where the Bakugan Universe was accidentally brought into Liu Kang's New Era. During the event, the Bakugan would go through changes. Most of them would become humanized versions of their original selves. Apollonir and the Ancient Warriors of Vestroia would be like the Elder Gods, Drago and his group would be like the demigods of Vestroia, then there's Dan Kuso and his friends would be their champions. Dan meanwhile, would be the son of Drago and Wavern, being adopted by Miyoko Kuso while becoming the champion that Liu Kang will choose instead of Raiden for Earthrealm. All the Bakugan Characters will be adults in this story, so be prepared for a surprise. But he won't know that until he learns the truth from Liu Kang. I'm still working out the ideas, and what fighting styles to give the characters. But I hope you guys like what I did with the story, and please comment as much as you can. Here are most of the characters and their fighting styles so far.)
Dan Kuso: Jeet Kune Do mixed with Dragon
Runo Misaki: Tiger Style Kung Fu
Shun Kazami: Ninjutsu
Alice Gehabich (Masquerade): Aikido
Marucho Marukura: Pao Chui
Julie: Kickboxing
Raiden: Taekwondo
Kung Lao: Wingchun
(That is basically all I managed to find thus far, but I hope you guys appreciate the idea's I chose for them.)
