Coriolanus Snow sits alone at his desk, in his office, in the Presidential Palace. On the hologram projected before him sit Caesar Flickerman and Claudius Templesmith, side-by-side.

"Now, Claudius," says Flickerman on the projection. "We don't know much about this year's Games, but we do know that they will be a particular kind of magnificent."

"Oh, yes," agrees Templesmith. "Based on our conversations with Head Gamemaker, Lucius Ring, we can expect quite the spectacle this year."

"Any guesses, my friend?"

"Oh, I don't quite like my odds with this one."

The two share a laugh. "Well, then I suppose we'll just have to wait and see," says Flickerman. He turns, this time, to the camera. "And on that note, folks, I would like to turn our attention to the true reason that you have been tuning in so eagerly. Without further adieu, let us finally meet the tributes for this year's Hunger Games!"

Coriolanus flicks the projection off. He does not have much interest in viewing footage of the Reapings. He finds no enjoyment in seeing the districts or their people, the hungry and the tired. There is no dignity within these districts, and there is no pride.

Just the way he likes it.

"President Snow."

In the doorway to his office stands Egeria, hands folded primly and not a single dark hair out of place. He dips his chin in acknowledgment, signaling for her to continue.

"Lucius Ring and the rest of the board have arrived. The dinner is about to begin."

"Thank you, Egeria. I will be joining them shortly."

She bows her head and exits.

Coriolanus breathes deeply as he rises from his desk. He adjusts the white rose in his lapel and smoothes his jacket, pushes in his chair and makes his way toward the door.

In twenty-four hours, this year's tributes will be parading down their cobblestone streets. In seven days, they will be in the arena. As is the order of things.

Order, thinks Coriolanus. A most effective weapon.

Hi there! Anyone else totally re-entering their Hunger Games phase now that Ballad is coming out?

I used to love SYOTs so I'm trying my hand here. They seem more active within the Hunger Games fandom than normal SYOCs in other fandoms, so I'm hoping we'll have a good turnout! That being said, I do have a few rules and points that I would like to preface with:

1. I have already pre-determined which tributes (district and gender) will be followed in the story, and which will be killed in the Bloodbath. That being said, I have given zero thought to which actual character will win or lose! This will be entirely dependent on the submitted tributes.

2. You may submit up to two tributes. Two is encouraged, actually! HOWEVER, if you do choose to submit two tributes, one of them MUST be a Bloodbath tribute. There will be two forms on my profile, one for "story" tributes and one for "bloodbath" tributes, since it would be unfair to give you guys a full, detailed form for a character who won't make it through.

3. This should be unspoken, but keep things realistic. This is the 68th Hunger Games, and will follow what we have of canon. Existing characters can and will appear, whether they are mentors, schoolmates, or anything else. This is only six years before the 74th Games, so culture and rituals are virtually the same as what we see as readers. Keep in mind your tribute's district, age, and history as you create them.

4. To help myself keep things organized, the submission forms will be created using Google Forms rather than using a traditional PM form. The links will both be listed in my profile.
