In New York City, there once was a seven-year-old boy named Billy who was always dressed as a train engineer, complete with overalls, an engineer hat, and a red bandana tied around his neck. On January 1, 1999, Billy was "adopted" at his foster home by a thug, who threatened Billy to do whatever he asked. For almost the entire year, Billy was left with no time for playing or relaxation, including during the summer months, during Billy's eighth birthday, and on Halloween night. On the night before Thanksgiving, the police noticed Billy's situation and silently followed Billy and his abuser the next morning. About eight minutes before the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade began, Billy almost burst into tears after the thankless thug screamed at him, "You're a worthless piece of trash nobody will ever love!"
While the thug threatened to strike Billy, Billy managed to run away from the thug. Because the thug had forced Billy to do all his work for almost an entire year, the thug was completely out of shape and thus had difficulty running after Billy. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, and Mary Jane were about to climb aboard the parade float they were all designated to appear on together. Since both boys and girls are junior train engineers, Mary Jane was also dressed as a train engineer, complete with an engineer hat and a red bandana tied around her neck. As he suddenly noticed Billy, Bugs Bunny declared, "No kid should be alone on Thanksgiving. Come on, we've got to help him!" Bugs Bunny, along with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, and Mary Jane, proceeded to run up to Billy.
Bugs Bunny chewed on a carrot. "What's up, doc?" Bugs Bunny asked Billy. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, and Mary Jane all introduced themselves to Billy. Billy proceeded to introduce himself to Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, and Mary Jane. Smiling, Mary Jane hugged Billy and exclaimed, "You're going to be in the parade with us as my big brother, Billy, because you're a train engineer, too! We're partners!" For the first time in almost a year, Billy smiled.
By this time, the thug had caught up to Billy, and before the thug could prevent Billy from finally receiving a well-deserved reward, which was a younger sister who was also a train engineer, the police blocked the thug's path and arrested the thug. "Cops? Wait! Um, that little brat Billy was going around hitting people! I was trying to stop him! I swear!" Billy's abuser lied, only for the police, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, and Mary Jane to not be deceived. "Wait! Um, that little brat Billy is joining us in the parade! I swear! Nice try, pal, but nobody here is buying it. Maybe Engineer Billy should drive on a train straight to a place called reality!" Triumph the Insult Comic Dog mocked Billy's abuser. "With laughable lies like that, you're dumber than Elmer Fudd!" Bugs Bunny also mocked Billy's abuser.
"Is this actually happening, Engineer Mary Jane?" Billy asked Mary Jane as they walked together towards the parade float. "It sure is, Engineer Billy! Just you wait, my parents are going to watch us all sing and dance in Herald Square together!" Mary Jane cheerfully replied. As Billy, Mary Jane, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, and Sniffles the Mouse climbed aboard their parade float together, Zim and GIR, sixteen months before their series Invader Zim would even premiere, came across the parade float. Zim and GIR introduced themselves. "I wish to be seen with aliens like me!" Zim requested Bugs Bunny as he pointed at Marvin the Martian. "I want to be with that piggy!" GIR requested Bugs Bunny as he jumped up and down excitedly and pointed at Porky Pig. Bugs Bunny invited Zim and GIR aboard the parade float. Immediately after Zim was standing next to Marvin the Martian and GIR was standing next to Porky Pig on the parade float, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, who were dressed as pilgrims, came across the parade float and introduced themselves.
"You can't have a big Thanksgiving parade without pilgrims like us, and most importantly, me!" Eddy boasted. "Mind your manners, Eddy. It's Thanksgiving." Edd told Eddy. Ed, Edd, and Eddy were also invited onto the parade float by Bugs Bunny. The next minute, less than sixty seconds before the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade began, Dib, who was with his younger sister Gaz, noticed that Zim and GIR were on the parade float and ran after the parade float. "You have to let me on this float! Zim is a threat to us all!" Dib demanded Bugs Bunny. "Do you have to obsess over Zim even on Thanksgiving, Dib?" Gaz asked Dib. "I'm not going to be seen in this parade with Dib!" Zim objected, but Bugs Bunny ignored Zim and pulled Dib onto the parade float, insisting, "Thanksgiving is for everyone!" Gaz was also pulled onto the parade float, although Gaz was more excited about her video game than being in the parade.
Dib and Gaz chose their positions on the parade float, and a second later, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade began. As their parade float moved down the long streets of New York City to Herald Square, Billy, Mary Jane, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, Zim, GIR, Ed, Edd, Eddy, Dib, and Gaz all waved to the thousands watching the parade. As they held each other's hands, Billy and Mary Jane could only cheer endlessly with the most joyful words any boy or girl knew: "All aboard!" "If only those chumps from the cul-de-sac could see us now!" Eddy boasted. "I'm in my happy place, Double D!" Ed cheered, rapidly waving both arms at the crowds. Ed's arms accidentally knocked over Eddy.
"Watch it, Monobrow! I have to look cool for my public!" Eddy snarled. Eddy spoke too soon nonetheless, because at that very moment, Ed, Edd, and Eddy noticed all the "chumps" from the cul-de-sac, including Kevin and Rolf, standing with the thousands watching the parade. "Nice busboy outfits, dorks!" Kevin insultingly shouted at Ed, Edd, and Eddy while the rest of the kids from the cul-de-sac pointed and laughed at Eddy. Rolf, notwithstanding, scratched his head. "Always with this duck word, yes, Kevin-boy? Rolf thought this is the day we eat the sweet flesh of the humble bird, the turkey." Rolf told Kevin, As Eddy got back up, he furiously gritted his teeth, and his face turned red. Little did Eddy know that his public humiliation would only later worsen in Herald Square.
"All you pathetic humans must bow before ZIM!" Zim shouted to the thousands watching the parade. "All the humans must bow before us, Mr. Irken." Marvin corrected Zim. "Us, sure, whatever." Zim commented, uninterested, and turned to Dib. "At least all the balloons in this parade are smaller than your head, Dib!" Zim mocked Dib. "You took the words right out of my mouth, Zim!" admitted Gaz to Zim as she looked at her video game. "Don't side with the enemy, Gaz!" Dib protested, but Gaz ignored Dib.
"Look at me, New York! I'm naked!" GIR exclaimed, shaking his rear in front of the thousands watching the parade. "Everyone today wants to get in the act!" Bugs Bunny remarked to the thousands watching the parade. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog joked to the thousands watching the parade, "I don't know which chestnuts are bigger, the chestnuts in tonight's stuffing or everyone on this parade float with me!" Eventually, the parade float arrived at Herald Square, where Mary Jane's parents were seated. "There's our engineer, Mary Jane," declared Mary Jane's father as he proudly pointed to his daughter on the parade float. "Who's that little boy also dressed as a train engineer with Mary Jane? He needs to be Mary Jane's big brother." Mary Jane's mother whispered to her husband.
Billy, Mary Jane, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, Zim, GIR, Ed, Edd, Eddy, Dib, and Gaz all proceeded to sing and dance to "Let's Turkey Trot" by Little Eva. After everyone performed, Mary Jane covered Billy's entire face with kisses, leaving pink lipstick marks, resulting in everyone in Herald Square roaring with friendly laughter. "That's our Mary Jane!" Mary Jane's father chuckled. While Billy blushed uncontrollably, Ed was more disgusted than amused. "Mushy girl stuff, Eddy!" Ed shouted, picking up Eddy to cover his eyes. "Put me down, Ed!" Eddy demanded. Ed did as he was told, and Eddy boasted, "At least any humiliation I experienced today is over. I'm a star today, New York!"
"I wouldn't say that, dork!" mocked Kevin, who snuck up behind Eddy. Kevin had somehow arrived in Herald Square in time to see everyone's performance. Kevin proceeded to give Eddy a wedgie, revealing to everyone in Herald Square that Eddy was wearing polka-dotted underwear. "Hey, New York, are you getting this?" Kevin asked the thousands in Herald Square. Trying to act cool, Eddy nervously chuckled, "Kevin collects underwear and gives it to the poor! Pretty stupid, huh, folks?" "Kissing? I can do that, too!" GIR exclaimed and proceeded to kiss Gaz. Gaz pushed GIR away in disgust and demanded Zim, "Zim, keep your disgusting robot away from me!"
"I think Gaz doesn't like your waffle breath, little one!" Triumph the Insult Comic Dog laughed. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog then turned to the final parade crowd and shouted, "Thank you! You've been a great crowd for me to poop on!" "That's all, folks!" announced Edd as he waved to the final parade crowd. "That's my line!" Porky Pig corrected Edd, slightly peeved, with his hands on his hips. After the parade, Mary Jane introduced her parents to Billy, and Mary Jane's parents immediately accepted Billy as their son. Billy went to live with Mary Jane and her parents, and while Billy was not willing to wash Mary Jane's kisses off his face, Mary Jane's mother wiped Billy's face with a wet washcloth. As everyone was about to sit down at the dinner tables, Mary Jane almost fainted when Billy pulled out her seat for her. "You're so handsome, Engineer Billy, both on the inside and outside!" Mary Jane exclaimed as she sat down. Billy proceeded to push Mary Jane's seat towards the table, and Billy himself took his seat next to Mary Jane. Mary Jane's father, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, Zim, Ed, Edd, Eddy, Dib, and Gaz also sat down at the dinner tables. "I'd rather be eating pizza at Bloaty's." Gaz grunted, taking her seat next to Dib. GIR was nowhere to be seen.
Mary Jane's mother placed two lidded plates on the dinner tables. As Mary Jane's mother lifted one of the lids, one of the Thanksgiving turkeys she had prepared was revealed. Mary Jane's mother then lifted the second lid, revealing what she believed to be the second Thanksgiving turkey she had prepared. The second "turkey" immediately turned out to be fake, as GIR, who was hiding in the fake turkey, burst through the fake turkey. "It's me! I was one of the turkeys all along!" GIR exclaimed. After everyone at the dinner tables briefly stared in silence, Zim commented, "I was wondering where you were, GIR."
GIR, as he sat down in the chair next to Zim, admitted to Mary Jane's mother where the second actual Thanksgiving turkey was. Mary Jane's mother placed the second actual Thanksgiving turkey on the dinner tables, and Mary Jane's mother sat down in the chair next to Mary Jane's father. "I'm so thankful today that not only do you have a little train engineer daughter, but I also now have a little train engineer son!" Mary Jane's father whispered to his wife. Everyone at the tables proceeded to eat a feast of not only turkey but also chestnut stuffing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes with gravy, and steamed carrots.
"This is the best meal I've eaten all year!" Billy realized. "Can we have a chicken instead of a turkey, Eddy? I love chickens!" Ed asked Eddy. "Shut up and eat, Ed! You still have your gravy!" Eddy replied. "Be sure to save some carrots for the rest of us, Bugs." Porky Pig told Bugs Bunny. "If carrots are so good for your eyes, Bugs, you should be able to see how addicted you are to your vegetables!" joked Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. After dinner, everyone ate a slice of pumpkin pie for dessert. That night, with huge smiles on their faces, Billy and Mary Jane fell asleep, hugging each other. Billy knew he was safe at last.
About a month after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day arrived. Billy, Mary Jane, and their parents all woke up to eat the most delicious breakfast of blueberry waffles they could imagine. "It's a good thing your little friend GIR is not here yet, or else he would eat all the blueberry waffles we made!" Billy and Mary Jane's father chuckled, leading to Billy, Mary Jane, and their mother laughing as well. After the family of four ate their breakfast and cleaned up, it was time for everyone to get dressed in their best clothes, which for both Billy and Mary Jane were their train engineer outfits, both complete with train engineer hats and red bandanas tied around their necks. Before long, the guests showed up, who were Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Sniffles the Mouse, Zim, GIR, Dib, Gaz, Ed, Edd, and Eddy.
Once everyone was at the home of Billy, Mary Jane, and their parents, it was time for everyone to open Christmas presents. Billy and Mary Jane, from their parents, received the best Christmas present they could receive: a toy train set. More appreciative than they have ever been, Billy gave their father a long hug, while Mary Jane gave their mother an equally long hug. "This present is for you, Eddy. Merry Christmas!" Edd giggled, covering his mouth. As Edd handed over a "present" to his friend Eddy, Eddy quickly unwrapped the box, which was revealed to be a dickie. "A dickie? They still make these?" Eddy snarled. As Billy and Mary Jane watched everyone give and show each other their presents, Mary Jane smirked and pointed upward.
"As you should know, Engineer Billy, there's magic under the mistletoe, so let's do an encore of what happened at the parade!" Mary Jane exclaimed and proceeded to again cover Billy's entire face with kisses, leaving pink lipstick marks. Billy and Mary Jane's mother had prepared for this, so Billy and Mary Jane's mother proceeded to again wipe Billy's face with a wet washcloth. Once Billy's face was clean, it was time for Christmas dinner. Everyone sat down at the dinner tables, with Billy and Mary Jane again sitting next to each other. Billy and Mary Jane's mother proceeded to place the two roasts of beef she had prepared on the dinner tables.
"Roast beef? Hey, that's what that Grinch guy who stole Christmas carved for dinner. Oh, look, he's sitting with us right now!" joked Triumph as he pointed towards Zim. While everyone else roared with laughter, Zim simply pouted and crossed his arms. "Very funny, earth mongrel. However, remember that I can have GIR cook up some chili, dump it on a certain canine, put him in a toasted bun, and the rest of us can call that Christmas dinner!" Zim remarked. "But chili goes best on tacos, Zim!" GIR told Zim. Everyone proceeded to eat a dinner of not only roast beef but also green peas, mashed potatoes and gravy, and steamed carrots.
"I still want chicken, Eddy." Ed said. "You're lucky I'm still peeved over the dickie, Ed; otherwise, I would literally make you put a sock in it by shoving Sockhead's hat in your mouth!" Eddy snarled. "You wouldn't dare, Eddy!" Edd gasped, holding onto his hat. After dinner, everyone ate a bowl of green Jell-O with whipped cream for dessert. After dessert, everyone sang Christmas songs and played board games together for the rest of the evening. That night, with huge smiles on their faces, Billy and Mary Jane again fell asleep, hugging each other.
