Saturday Morning,

TK was eating his breakfast while the TV was on. "A mysterious phenomenon has occurred in Odaiba High School as several students mysteriously have gone into comas Since Monday. The cause of all these commas remains unknown at the moment. Back to you, Yuki." The newscaster announced. This immediately caught the attention of TK. 'Could this be a work of a digimon? I must tell the others about this.' TK thought as he hastily ate his breakfast.

After he finished his breakfast he headed straight to his room and took out his D-Terminal and was about to start writing a message to the other Digidestineds. 'What could be the cause of this phenomenon? What is the motive behind this?' Many questions started flooding TK's mind, he needs answers now. But he snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a message in his D-Terminal.

[Want to have a picnic at around 3:00 PM? Just to relax somewhere nice]

'Guess I have to wait until later. Perhaps they already heard the news.' TK thought.

Saturday Afternoon, The Park

In a mostly vacant part of the park, the Digidestined met up for their picnic. The weather was mostly sunny and warm with the occasional cool breeze blowing. The grass was soft and seemed to be a perfect place to relax but this area was also a bit secluded so the Digidestined can have some privacy and so they don't have to worry about anyone else spotting the Digimon and causing a scene.

"Sorry I'm late guys." A spiky reddish brown haired boy announced as he ran towards the group. The 11 year old boy named Daisuke "Davis" Motomiya wore a blue short-sleeved open vest over a dark blue shirt with long sleeves, a thick white stripe ran across the chest and thin yellow stripes over and under it. He also wears dark brown shorts and a pair of goggles that lie on his hair. Next to him was a small blue and white creature, he is Davis's Digimon partner named Demiveemon.

"Now that we are all here, can we start?" The dark purple-black haired boy asked. He was wearing a gray Tamachi Elementary School's uniform. The boy is 11 year old Ken Ichijouji. In Ken's arms is a green moth larvae-like creature known as Wormmon.

'I wonder if this mysterious phenomenon only occurs in Odaiba High school. What if it's just a coincidence or just an illness. But maybe it's something else.' TK frowned at these thoughts. TK's partner Digimon, Patamon, sat on top of TK's head. Patamon resembles an orange and white furred hamster with wings where his ears should be.

"What's wrong TK?" Cody asked the blonde boy, next to Cody was his Digimon partner, Upamon. Upamon was a cream colored creature with no limbs and large ears. "Have you guys heard the news this morning? A lot of people in Odaiba High School went to comas all of sudden. I just don't think it's just a coincidence or an illness. I believe it's something else entirely that's causing it." TK explained his concerns.

"Yeah. I feel bad for the victims and their families. But if there is someone causing this then we must stop them before they hurt anyone else." Kari looked over to her partner Digimon. Kair's partner Digimon is Gatomon. Gatomon is a white furred bipedal cat with yellow gloves and a long white and blue striped tail. Gatomon nodded in agreement.

"Hey, can we eat first? I am getting hungry." Poromon asked. Poromon is Yolei's Digimon partner, Poromon is pretty much just a round pink ball with feathers and a beak. At the back of Poromon's head is a red feather with yellow at the tip. "Oh yeah I brought food. It's better to discuss it after we eat." Yolei chuckles slightly to at least lighten the mood with everyone nodding.

"I can't wait to eat the cream puffs!" Demiveemon shouted while hopping in pure excitement. "Cream puffs? I didn't bring any cream puffs." Yolei blinked with confusion. "Then why can I smell cream puffs?" Demiveemon tilts his head slightly in confusion.

"Hey I can smell it too." Davis says after sniffing the air. "It's coming from over there behind that tree." Ken pointed in the direction of the source of the smell. The tree had two bushes next to it, a perfect place to hide and stalk people.

"Hey! Show yourself! We know that you're there!" Davis yelled to whoever was hiding behind the tree. The digimon took defensive stances incase of an attack, there were very quiet whispers that came from behind the large vegetation that no one could clearly hear. The bushes rustled and a familiar looking white haired teen emerged . "Bakura?!" TK, Yolei, and Cody were a bit shocked to find that it was their new neighbor.

Bakura is wearing a simple white short sleeve t-shirt and blue jeans with a brown belt. He is wearing some sort of golden pendant. The golden pendant looks ancient Egyptian in design with a large ring with a triangle at the center. At the center of the triangle is something resembling an eye. There are 5 sharp prongs connected at the bottom of the ring, which dangle around as it moves. He also had a brown messenger bag on his left side whose strap horizontally connected to his right shoulder.

The Digidestined then quickly grabbed their digimon partners so it seems that they are nothing more than plushies and then nervously chuckled. "Bakura, what are you doing here?" Yolei asked Bakura. Bakura hesitated before answering, "I don't remember how I got here or when. My memory is sometimes foggy." Bakura spoke in a soft tone. "What about you guys?

"We were simply relaxing in the park." TK replied. "My name is Hikari Kamya, but you can just call me Kari." Kari introduced herself. "I'm Davis, nice to meet you." Davis said. "My name is Ken Ichijouji." Ken introduced himself to the older kid.

"Sorry for intruding into your meetup." Bakura bowed to signify an apology. He then sat on the soft grass and opened his bag. He pulled out a box that was half empty. "I was eating some profiterole when you yelled for me to come out. They're my favorite food, you want some?" Bakura formed a friendly smile and spoke in a polite tone.

The younger kids all nod their heads. Bakura gave each of the Digidestined a single profiterole. Their Digimon partners were sweating profusely about the smell of the pastry and in hunger. But they couldn't move or make a scene while Bakura was there.

The Digidestined ate the profiterole they were given and gave expressions of pleasure from the delicious pastry they were given. "This is delicious Bakura. Where did you get them?" Davis asked the teen. "My aunt made them." The white haired boy answered.

Yolei took notice of the golden pendant Bakura wore. "Hey what's that laced around your neck?" The lavender haired girl asked. "Oh this? This is my Millenium Ring, my father gave it to me on a trip to Egypt when I was young. It is said to be 3,000 years old." Bakura answered as he held up the Millennium Ring.

Bakura took out one of his plastic deck holders and took out his deck of cards. The cards were mostly brown at the back but had a Black oval in the center. Bakura looked through his deck of cards.

"What card game is that?" Davis asked, unfamiliar with the cards. "It's a game called Duel Monsters, it's really popular in America and it started getting popular in my hometown of Domino City." Bakura answered while looking through his deck and took out a card. "This is my favorite card, it's called "Change of Heart." To me it represents how anyone could have a change of heart no matter what. We could play the game someday." Bakura spoke with a warm and friendly smile.

Ken was yet again reminded of his days as the Digimon Emperor. 'Change of Heart. Anyone can change, my days as Digimon Emperor haunt me still. But I have changed and become a better person.' Ken smiled at thought.

Bakera looked at the time and quickly put his belongings back in his bag. "Sorry I have to go. It was a pleasure to meet you guys." Bakura waved goodbye as he walked towards the trees, the Digidestined said their goodbyes to the white haired boy. 'I wonder why all their plushies seemed like they were nervous? Maybe I am imagining things.' Bakura thought as he left the younger children.

Once Bakura left, the Digimon all let out a huge sigh. "Thought he would never leave." Gatomon commented. "Can we eat now?" Demiveemon asked impatiently. Yolei started to take food out of her bag and passed food around to the Digimon and fellow Digidestined. "This is delicious." Exveemon said while eating a chocolate bar.

Bakura was navigating his way home. 'Why did I open up again? I shouldn't get close with anyone. What if they..' Bakura felt something in his head. He wasn't sure what it was but it was something he occasionally felt before blacking out and being somewhere completely different. He never could remember anything that happened.

Everyone continued finishing their meals but something didn't sit well with TK. He doesn't know what but it's like he can sense something was wrong. Like something evil and filled with nothing but malice was nearby, a being of pure darkness. 'Maybe I am just paranoid. After all, Kari is the one who is sensitive to light and darkness. But why do I feel like something is wrong.' TK thoughts were interrupted by Patamon. "TK, are you alright?"

"I lost my appetite." TK replied, his tone sounded monotone. He quickly formed a smile and asked his partner "Want the rest?" Patamon nodded and ate the rest of TK's meal. He hoped no one else noticed his soured mood that he hid with a forced smile as the others were talking to each other. Unfortunately for the bucket hat wearing kid, someone noticed.

Kari walked over to her best friend with concern. "TK, you seem off." TK turned to face his friend and decided there is no point in lying to her. "I just feel like something is off. I don't know why, but I do. Like something wrong is going to happen." The feeling of darkness he felt had faded away, this confused the boy further on how and why he even felt that.

"Is it about the mysterious phenomenon from the news?" Kari sat next to her best friend. "I think so. But I felt like something terrible was going to happen." TK replied. "The feeling is gone now. But it felt like something evil was nearby." TK looked away from Kari and noticed that Patamon had left his side and went to play with the other digimon.

"I— arggh!" Kari put her hands on her head and groaned in pain.'What is this sudden surge of darkness? But this darkness felt different from anything I have sensed.' Kari shuddered, her memories of her time at the dark ocean never left her. This had caught the attention of everyone who immediately stopped what they were doing and hurried over to the Digidestined of light.

"What's wrong?!" Yolei asked her friend. "The darkness. It's overwhelming." Kari hunched over, her hands still gripping the sides of her head. TK felt the darkness as well but he was not as sensitive to the darkness as Kari was. Yolei helped her friend to her feet and tried to comfort the brunette.

After thirty seconds had passed, Kari's pain stopped. Kari calmed down and took deep breaths. "Are you okay?" Cody asked the older girl. "I'm fine now." Kari responded, she scanned her surroundings before getting up. "You felt it too?" TK asked his best friend, Kari nodded.

"What could possibly cause that much darkness?" TK asked no one in particular. "I don't know. It's nothing like I felt before. This darkness is different somehow." Kari's tone was laced with fear and unease.

"I wonder if the mysterious phenomenon from the news is connected somehow?" TK wondered about what exactly he and Kari sensed. "I believe we should find what is causing this phenomenon right now!" Davis shouted. "But where do we start? They're not going to let elementary students wander around a high school." Cody pointed out.

"Guys, I think we need to go home for now. We don't know what is causing this. I think we should just go home for now and keep our eyes open for anything suspicious." Ken said as the other Digidestined nodded.

The group collected their possessions and their partners before leaving the area. So many questions clouded their minds, What is the cause of the darkness that Kari sensed? What caused this phenomenon? Is it caused by a Digimon that had somehow crossed to this world? If so, how and why did it go undetected for so long?

They quickly snapped from their thoughts when all of sudden Yolei tripped over something but was caught mid fall by Ken. "Thanks Ken." Yolei was horrified as she looked at what she tripped over. It was the leg of a high school girl, her eyes were open and pupils were dulled, and her expression was vacant.

What a startling discovery. Who is the culprit? Could Bakura be hiding a dark secret? Find out next week on Digimon, Digital Monsters.
