I do not own the Boy/Girl Battle Series or these characters.

Caroline and Wally are in 9th grade. I'll let you do the math.

Beth squealed with delight.

"You should tell her!" She said excitedly.

"No way, she probably doesn't feel the same." Wally said, looking out the window.

"Hmmm, I wouldn't too sure of that." Beth said.

Wally turned to look at Beth. "Just drop it. It's not going to happen."

"Wally, I'll tell you this right now. If you don't tell Caroline, I assure you, you will regret it for the rest of you life." Beth said seriously.

"Only if you tell Josh how you feel too." Wally said.

"Wally, Josh and I, we didn't work out and-"

"He still likes you." Wally said, returning to the window.

"What?" Beth asked.

"He still likes you. Always has. Never got over you." Wally repeated.

"I'll think about it Wally. But you should tell her."

"I'll think about it."

Caroline stopped dead.

"Bill? What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Just here to ask if you had the answer to number 15 on the homework." Bill said.

Caroline gritted her teeth. "You couldn't call?"

"You wouldn't have picked up." Bill said.

"Or gone to Wall- oh wait my sister's there." Caroline said.

"Exactly, now will you help me?" Bill asked.

Caroline looked around her house. She was the only one home. Her mother was at a PTO meeting and her father at the football game with Bill's dad.

"Fine." Caroline said. "Come in."

"Hey Wally, keep thinking of what I told you, ok?" Beth said. She was now leaving the Hatford house.

"Ok I will." Wally said. As Beth turned to walk back to her house, Josh turned to Wally.

"What she tell you?" He asked.

"Chill out dude!" Wally said.

"Wally. Please. Tell me." Josh said.

Wally blushed. "I don't want to tell you, you'd tease me."

"You're thinking of Jake, who," Josh looked around, "isn't here right now. Tell me."

"Fine." Wally said, his voice dropping down to a whisper, "I might have a crush on Caroline."

"Might?!" Josh asked. "Dude, its definitely not might have."

Wally glared at him.

"Hey, all I'm saying is, if you truly like her, you'd feel it in your heart."

"I also told Beth you still like her." Wally said.

"WHAT!" Josh yelled.

"Huh, what'd I miss?" Jake said, walking through the door.

"I can't believe you did that!" Josh screamed at Wally.

"Woah woah woah, what's going on?" Jake asked.

"Josh, she'd probably would've gone on with her life if she never knew, and you didn't look like you'd be telling her soon." Wally reasoned.

"That doesn't give you any right to tell her that!" Josh screamed. He then ran to his room and slam the door shut.

"What happened?" Jake asked Wally.

"My guess, they're talking about my sister." Eddie spoke from the door. Steve and Tony nodded next to her.

"Oh crap, you guys heard that?" Wally asked.

"It's a miracle the entire neighborhood didn't." Steve said.

"I'll go talk to him." Jake said, walking up to his room.

"Ok, we should head home." Eddie said to Steve and Tony. They started to walk back to their houses.

"What have I done?" Wally said.

"Caroline, I'm back- why is Bill here?" Beth shouted and stopped dead at the sight of Bill Benson.

"He was asking for homework help." Caroline explained.

"Okay?" Beth said, heading up to her room.

"Well, thank you again, um, I'm going to head home." Bill said, packing up. He started out the door and almost got run over by Eddie.

"Bye," Bill said, and started off home.

"Caroline, why was Bill Benson here?" Eddie asked.

"Homework?" Caroline asked.

"Did you ask him?" Caroline said, entering Beth's room.

"Um not necessarily but-"

"What!? Beth after all I was bothering you-"

"Caroline! Let me finish. Not necessarily but the topic did come up. That's all I can tell you." Beth explained.

"Oh c'mon Beth! You have to tell me now!" Caroline said.

"Not my place." Beth said, getting ready for bed. "Not my place."

"Fine, I get it." Caroline said. "But you didn't say anything about me having a -"

"Caroline, that's also not my place." Beth said, smiling.

"Ok. Thanks."

Wally knocked numbly on the twins' door.

"Come in." Josh said weakly. Wally went in and sat into a chair next to Josh's bed.

"I'm sorry."

"What does it matter now? She knows." Josh replied numbly.

"It slipped out when she was telling me to tell ... you know." Wally said, well aware of Jake in the next bed.

Josh chuckled. "I get it."

"We cool?" Wally asked, extending his hand.

"Cool." Josh said, taking it.

"Thank goodness, I can't stand it when you guys are mad at each other." Jake said. Josh and Wally chuckled.

Steve and Tony stood like deer in headlights as they watched their brother bolt to them.

"Bill? I thought you were in the house?" Steve asked his younger brother.

"Yeah, why are you leaving the Malloys house?" Tony added.

"Hold on, get in." Bill said, catching his breath.

Danny grabbed them and dragged them in.

"Ok what's going on?" Tony asked.

"Shhh." Danny said. "We'll tell you our plan."

Caroline woke up, again without the help of her sisters. She checked her clock. 6:30. Yes! Caroline thought. She had at least an hour to get ready for school. She took a quick shower, got her favorite outfit ready and dried her hair. She put on her sweater; a black one with red and pink hearts on it, a red skirt, black tights, and her favorite Nike shoes. She checked the time again. 7:00. She decided to go downstairs to eat breakfast. She found both of her sisters on their phones, sitting around the table.

Beth had a broad smile on her face, wearing black jeans, a pink sweater, and her Converse. She had her hair in a low bun, courtesy of a video she'd found online. Eddie was smirking, wearing her ever-present baseball cap, an old jersey of hers, black sweatpants, and her Vans.

"What's so funny?" Caroline said, heading to the kitchen to grab a bowl of cereal. Her sisters smiles dropped immediately and they turned off their phones.

"Nothing!" said Beth.

"Yep!" Eddie agreed.

"Okayy." Caroline said. "Beth can you do my hair?" Beth nodded.

"What do you want?"

Wally looked around his class, hoping Caroline wouldn't be late today. Bill walked over to him.

"Looking for Caroline?" He asked.

Wally gave Bill a look. "No."

"Y'know, if you like her, you should make a move, before someone else does."

"What does that mean?" Wally asked. Bill shrugged and walked back to his seat.

Caroline walked through the door then. Her hair was up with two buns on the top of her head and the rest of her hair was down her back. She was dressed up pretty cute, but Wally always saw her like that. Well not when they were younger, obviously that's for sure.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey," she replied.

"How was New York?" Wally asked. He'd forgotten to ask yesterday.

"Oh it was wonderful and we got to watch- you don't want to hear this do you?" Caroline said.

"No I want to know. How was it?" Wally said.

Caroline narrowed her eyes for a split second before she continued talking about New York. She talked about the Yankees game they went to, when Beth asked the poor attendant at the Empire State Building about the 600th floor, and the musical they saw at Broadway, Mrs. Doubtfire. She told Wally that they visited the 9/11 memorial and went to Times Square. She had to stop after that because class was starting but she was happy she got to share her time at New York with someone, even if it was Wally. She was glad he listened.

At lunch later that day, Caroline sat with her sisters with the Hatfords and Bensons. Jake and Eddie immediately started arguing about the answers on their math homework until Beth took one look at it and said the answer.

Jake smiled smugly. "Told you." Eddie sneered at him.

"Yeah that and-" Bill said to Danny.

"What are you guys talking about?" Wally asked.

"Nothing." Bill and Danny said. Everyone but Caroline and Wally looked at each other. Caroline shrugged and headed off to the garbage to throw out her lunch. The others quickly followed suit.

"What are you guys gossiping about over here?" Wally asked his friends.

"Nothing!" Bill said.

Wally gave him a look.

"I'm serious!" Bill said.

"Does this have something to do with what you said to me in class today?" Wally asked. Bill looked around.

"Kinda?" He said.

"Who?" Wally asked, just as Caroline and her sisters sat back down.

"I can't say!" Bill said. He gestured to Wally with his hand, making a face. Caroline giggled. Wally scowled. Beth looked at Eddie with a smirk. Wally scowled even more. He found a random crumb and threw it at Beth.

"Ok grumpy!" Beth said with a smile. Wally didn't reply. Caroline frowned. What happened to him that made him so cold nowadays?

"Oh c'mon Wally, you ruined our sunshine's mood!" Eddie exclaimed. Caroline flushed, praying Eddie to shut up and never call her that again.

"Eddie!" Caroline hissed. Unbeknownst to Caroline, Wally's face softened at her. Unluckily for Wally, everyone else but Caroline noticed this. Wally rolled his eyes at their snickering, wondering how they all knew. He only told Bill, Beth and Josh. They didn't-
